OVERVIEW: 4.5 with potential to round up to 5. I was super excited to try this spot, as I'm a huge fan of oysters and seafood (especially in the Texas heat). This was hands-down some of the best seafood I've had in Austin! The vibes are truly upscale east coast summer-y, and the interior is cute. Food is good and on par with Austin pricing (so be prepared to splurge). Overall, I will definitely revisit to try other things. QUICK FACTS: - Parking? Yes, a small lot behind the restaurant and street parking Sun.-Wed.; complimentary valet Th.-Sat.! - Reservations? Recommended but not required. For larger groups or weekends, expect a wait without one. - Happy hour? No, not as of May 2026. Perhaps they will add one later on. FOOD RATINGS: - Tuna crudo, $12 (4/5): Super tiny portion (3 slices of tuna), but delicious nonetheless. - Scallop tostada, $16 (5/5): Incredible! Fresh and light with a tasty house-made chili oil. Loved this and would order again. - Seafood platter, $85 (5/5): A great way to get a little of everything! Oysters were as expected (refreshing and light), shrimp cocktail were fresh and plump, and the tom kha clams were a hit. The diablo clams were okay (Bloody Mary flavor) and the white fish dip is pretty bland (also, cracker refills cost an extra $1 which is petty IMO). - Burger and fries, $21 (3/5): Described as the new "best burger in town", but fell extremely short for me. For one thing, it was incredibly salty - and I love salty foods. I think it was an honest mistake from Chef, but it was not edible. Pickles were great and fries were fantastic! Would not order again and will stick to seafood. - Tom kha clams, $12 ea. (5/5): So good we ordered 2 more à la carte! Pricy individually, but so tasty and worth it. - Sticky bread pudding, $12 (4/5): A delicious way to end the meal. Warm and gooey, this was a great dessert. The ice cream wasn't my favorite (sort of had a soft serve texture), but overall was a good dessert.

Absolutely love this spot and already excited to come back soon! Austin Oyster Co has now opened their own brick and mortar restaurant, and it did not disappoint! If you love seafood, cooked and or raw, you will definitely enjoy! We were seated outside on their patio, which is really nice especially during golden hour! We started off with the Plateau, which came with, 6 oysters, 3 diablo clams, 2 tom kha clams, 4 shrimp cocktail, smoked whitefish salad. The oysters were east coast and super fresh! Loved the hot sauce and the mignonette that accompanied them. The diablo clams and tom Kha clams were the highlights of the plateau for me. The flavors are exciting, bold, spicy, and sour! We also got the calamari and cracklings. It was good but was on the saltier side and I felt the crispy pork was a little too oily. For our main, we shared the steak frites with swordfish as our protein. This was soooo good and the sauce and chives that accompanied the fish was perfect! Make sure to ask for some garlic aioli on the side to dip the fries in! The service was great and their bathrooms were quite aesthetic! Can't wait to come back to try some more of the food soon!

Oysters, Tom Kha clams (omg, amazing!), spicy clams (can't remember their name- also amazing).

I was very curious to try their well known tacos and tostadas. We stood in a line, in a covered area outside to order. Noticed there weren't any menus to look at, until it's your turn to order. Highly recommend placing easy access menus to browse while waiting. Once it was our turn, the girl behind the counter was so patient and helpful. She answered our questions and wanted to make sure we had a great experience, especially since some of our group had dietary restrictions. Seating outdoors was plentiful behind the restaurant. They have a beautiful vegetable garden adjacent, I imagine they utilize many of the greens for the menu items. Excellent service table side outdoors- servers brought the food to our table, provided water, and cleaned and boxed up any leftovers. We ordered a variety of tacos and tostadas- the most popular amongst the group were the duck carnitas taco and the tuna tostada. I ordered and absolutely loved my beets tartare tostada. Totally non dairy and there was a generous portion of beet tartare and the crema salsa was delicious. Soooo fresh!! And the micro greens were perfect. A little pricey, but my beet tartare tostada was plenty enough. Fresh food, excellent service!

The staff was so friendly and the food arrived fairly fast. No need to get back in line out front if you want more food. They'll take your order at the table. The table ordered a variety of tacos. The Duck Carnitas Taco was reccomended and those that ordered it loved it. For vegetarian/vegan options, we tried the Beet Tartare Tostada and Cauliflower Taco. The Cauliflower Taco was made Vegan. The ingredients on all the tacos were flavoful, fresh, and plentiful and the homemade yellow and blue corn tortillas were delicious. The vegan/vegetarian options were delicious as well. One Taco that was not particularly a favorite was the Enchilada Potosino Taco made with potato, chorizo, duck fat refried beans, and too much shredded cabbage. Overall, great service and delicious tacos! There is parking available in lot adjacent to the resteraunt.

The buttered crab fingers were SO damn good we ordered another. The smoked trout dip was lovely. The shishitos were surprisingly spicy but I enjoyed that. The fried oyster slider was only fine, and I would probably skip that going forward (I think it's a Gulf oyster). But the raw East Coast oysters were delicious! Mains: i tried the lobster orrechiette ($46 on the day I was there) and one of the specials of the day, a pompano with kabocha and gailan. Both were great but I really especially loved the creamy lobster pasta. After a long week at work, it just really hit the spot. For dessert, we tried the pot du (chocolate) crème, the flourless chocolate torte, and the olive oil cake with blackberry sauce. My favorite was the pot du crème which was so smooth and decadent. The flourless chocolate torte felt a little lost under all the cream, and the olive oil cake was just a little too sweet for my tastes. But others in my group loved those ones. This place is so unassuming from the outside but so so lovely on the inside.

A Seafood Lover's Dream -- Fresh, Soulful, Unforgettable…read more If you haven't yet discovered Mongers Market + Kitchen, consider this your sign to go -- and go soon. After just one visit, it's easy for me to understand why the buzz refuses to die down. The Food: Fresh, Chef-Driven, and Exceptional Mongers lives and breathes quality seafood, and it shows in every single dish. Daily fish specials, like the superb halibut with lemon tarragon beurre blanc sauce I had today, keep the menu feeling alive and seasonal, and the creatively curated menu selections are outstanding. Every dish feels intentional, ingredient-forward, and deeply satisfying. The Atmosphere: Casual Meets Upscale The space strikes a balance that isn't easy to pull off -- unobtrusively nautical-themed and cozy without veering into kitschy territory, rustic without feeling rough around the edges. It's the kind of place that works equally well for a relaxed date night or an intimate dinner with close friends. The warm lighting, close-set tables, and unhurried pace create an atmosphere that encourages you to slow down, order another round of oysters, and stay a while. Small touches--coastal blue tinted water glasses, discreet deco lamps on the exquisitely tiled bar--further convey the establishment's understated, Austin-aligned elegance. The Service: Knowledgeable and Genuinely Attentive The staff here know their seafood, and they're happy to talk about it. Whether you're debating between the crudo and the fish special or trying to navigate the market's fresh offerings, the team brings a friendly confidence and attentiveness that elevates the whole experience. They're the kind of servers who enhance your meal rather than simply facilitate it. The Market: A Bonus Worth Celebrating One of Mongers' most charming features is its retail market component, where you can take home fresh fish and prepared items on your way out. It's a thoughtful touch that extends the experience well beyond the table and speaks to the establishment's genuine love of great seafood in all its forms. On Pricing and Happy Hour Yes, Mongers leans toward the higher end of the price spectrum -- but for the quality on the plate, it's more than justified. That said, the ample lunch menu offers a bit of a price break and their happy hour is a smart way to sample what this kitchen does best at a more accessible price point, and it's become something of a local institution in its own right. Mongers Market + Kitchen isn't just a meal -- it's an experience that lingers long after the last bite. Don't miss it.

I online ordered and picked up 3 different orders. 2 of them were not ready and she had me wait in my car and she brought them out to me so I didn't melt in the heat. Now the important stuff the menu... Ok who knew you could fry ribs?!?! They were on point. 4 to an order. Ribs were still moist, the batter had a crunch, and the meat fell off the bone. The dirty rice was the best dirty rice I've ever eaten. It was loaded up with seafood The smothered pork chops were 2 to an order and 2 sides served on a bed of white rice. Also very moist and great flavor, the Mac n cheese was not runny which I personally hate when it's just a runny mess, the fried cabbage also had a great flavor and it was still crunchy. The jerk chicken had great flavor but it was ordered as mild (not by me) and it definitely needed the heat/spice,the jumbalaya side was also tasty We also got the hot Cheetos boudin balls (I forgot to take a picture) they were huge and not spicy at first bite the heat sneaks up on you. The strawberry crunch cake was a big slice and reminded me of strawberry cake doughnut but that banana pudding was also probably the best banana pudding I've ever eaten. I felt all the portions were huge and prices were fair. This definitely not a food truck to sleep on. I've been told she makes great oxtails but they sell out fast.

Since it was this new and poppin' restaurant on East Cesar Chavez from the team behind De Nada, we had over an hour wait that we didn't take up. Its vibe intrigued me, and I think Cajun food is top five like Tatum with a cut. I decided to prepare only slightly this time. While getting dinner with a friend, we were discussing places when I suggested Lil' Easy. I threw a reservation down for an hour later at one of their numerous dining options. Upon arrival, parking at that little strip of restaurants on East Cesar Chavez is a bit treacherous. If you're not afraid of getting your steps in at 6 pm on a Friday, don't sweat it. Anyone else, good luck. There are a lot of different seating arrangements at Lil' Easy: the true outdoor patio with fans and umbrellas, the climate-controlled outdoor space that still brings the sun while still pumping A/C, and the traditional indoor space. Plenty of seating. The entire place was decorated with Mardi Gras beads and colors. Off the rip, we had to set the tone: I ordered a Pimm's Cup while my friend got some secret frozen swirl. We had to throw down an order of the Crawfish Queso as well. The food and drinks were served so quickly, we questioned if it was ours. The queso was De Nada's signature queso with Crawfish Étouffée mixed in. There are no tortilla chips on the side, but instead toasted bread. It's kinda like a DIY Crostini. The crawfish's flavor is a unique and savory balance to the cheesiness of the queso. Very delightful. We crushed it. My friend wanted to go wild. Another appetizer?? Their Shrimp Cocktail was thrown down immediately after ordering. The shrimp was great, but those house pickles were sneakily one of the best things they served us. Living the high life. Speaking of that, I ordered a High Life Pony as we made our main orders: a Fried Catfish Po'Boy and Fried Oyster Po'Boy. Both cut down the middle so we could have a little this, a little that. I think the bread, the catfish and the oysters, and the fries served alongside it were all incredible. My only issue was that the catfish po'boy had horseradish in it. That is a me issue, and I don't know why I can't stand horseradish. I don't know if it was hiding in their coleslaw or their rémoulade, but something was horseradish-y! I'd get the oyster po'boy again and again though! We closed the night with me being fun as I ordered their Frozen Espresso Martini with sprinkles and whipped cream because some other lady sitting nearby had that, and I WANTED TO BE FUN TOO. My friend got herself the seasonal nonalcoholic Arnold Palmer that was spiked with some Deep Eddy Lemon Vodka. Hers was great, but mine was basically a milkshake. I looked like a joyous kid with my drink. I was so very happy. They do give you lids for your drinks if you want to take them with you, but I planned to finish mine then and there. The gimme cups are also a nice touch and have their cute alligator mascot on them. Throughout the night, we could not believe how fast the service was at getting our meals and our drinks to us. Our waitress was absolutely on point the entire time we were there, constantly checking in on us and being extremely friendly and helpful in making sure we chose the right things and had a good meal ahead of us. Lil' Easy is casual, fun, and absolutely delicious. They have some of the best frozens in Austin, and their food is some of the best seafood and Cajun food I've had in Austin, hands down. I will say the corn and the onion were beyond spicy, but that was a nice kick. We also got the oysters. I have to say that the oysters were delicious so I give them that. The gumball was definitely missing a lot of flavor. It was it that good. The deviled eggs were mediocre and nothing special to them. We also got a meat. Patty empanada kind of deal and that was OK. It was a little overly greasy. And for dessert, we got the banana rum cake, which I have to say was nice but again nothing special. As for drinks, they had quite a variation. One of us got the espresso martini, which was OK. It was too sweet for my taste. And then I got the spritz which was nice. It's very hard to mess up a spritz.
