I really wanted to like this place but it just was not at food or up to par. We stopped in because my husband really wanted to try it: I will start off by saying the drinks are fantastic 10/10 and are the only reason I am giving 2 stars but drinks are not food. The queso was very bland and flavorless nothing at all to write home about. I ended up having a chicken quesadilla which was way way wayyyy to greasy and wet I had to wipe it down with 8 napkins before I could eat and the chicken really had no flavor which was honestly disappointing. My husband had the pulled pork which was in incredible salty but he reallly liked his german potato salad. Our server was incredibly kind, attentive and was always checking on us. The best thing about this place is that they are open fairly late and they serve Mexican food.Second thing is that it was fairly clean My chicken quesadilla was ok,but there was nothing else with it on the plate. Austin Republic - Tuesday night visit Upon arrival I was so excited that they had ping pong tables and corn hole outside. Two of my favs! We were seated pretty quickly, but the system that the hostesses use must have been malfunctioning or maybe confusing because it took two of them over 5 min to figure out where to sit us. Otherwise there would have been no wait. They have long weird booths and they are comfy but... we had to sit with strangers. So weird. A couple was already seated in the booth and we sat at the far end. Inside there was foosball and arcade games (pac man galaga combo ). We sat right next to kitchen entrance and there was some unexplainable source of water which made the kitchen floor perpetually flood. Someone was mopping it consistently and the water just kept coming. There must be a leak or plumbing issue. Didn't concern our meal but none of the employees had on slip-proof shoes. I was anxious for them lol we ordered bottomless salsa and chips which took a while to be refilled. We ordered the 2|2|2 combo. Pros: Ribs fantastic, Greens pretty good, Service decent Cons: Brisket eh, kinda dry and flavorless. And talk about a skimpy serving! Mac and queso - exactly what it sounds like, nothing special, just shells mixed in queso. Bbq sauce eh, tacos were soooooooooo tiny. Like wedding finger food tiny. It was surprising. Back again and they didn't disappoint! Brisket was juicy and seasoned and smoked to perfection. Birra egg rolls were absolutely delicious and the corn ribs were so good. Will not return. Food was underwhelming, service was poor and it was incredibly loud. Where was the floor manager, where was quality control? Service: it took nearly 1 hour to get food. The waitress kept coming by to tell us they were really busy but the dining room was half empty. Our order got messed up too but after 1 hour we just wanted to eat an d get out of there. We didn't dare ordering dessert because we didn't want to be there another hour. We just showed up with 8 people to celebrate my son's birthday. Understanding this is a new restaurant (open less than a month) we expected some hiccups. I heard mixed and read mixed reviews as well, so my expectations were guarded. We were pleasantly surprised at everything. Our server was young and clearly still learning, but she never left us hanging. We ordered smoked wings for app and the chip trio. The wing were delicious and juicy. As good as our homemade ones, which is saying a lot. For dinner, three of us got the three tacos so we could share and sample. (shrimp, gringa, and Carnitas). All three were tasty. Can't go wrong with any one of them. My some got the brisket melt and could only eat half so he took it to school for lunch today. (Bonus - free and easy lunch prep). Everyone was genuinely happy with their food. The brisket was yummy and juicy. Had the chirros for dessert, they were perfect, hot crispy, sweet but not overly sweet. Added bonus is all the activities for kids. My kids played in the game room while waiting for dinner. They had a blast with several other neighborhood kids. We read the reviews for Austin Republic, and despite the bad reviews, we decided to give it a shot. We have a big group that gets together weekly, and since this place is geared towards families, we thought it would be worth a shot. SO GLAD WE DID. To all the people that said the food is underwhelming, we definitely found that not to be true. I got the yucca tots, rice and beans, and collards. They were all very delicious! We also tried brisket, pulled pork, tacos, etc. The portions were good, and for $17 approximately, you get tacos and a side of your choice. That price is very close to the area's other taco shops. The bar area was packed and very lively. It looked like a great place for locals to come hang out and meet new people. The bar happy hour prices were fantastic - $3.50 for a Hazy Little Thing on draft for example. The family seating area was not extremely loud despite being full. There were kids running around, but they were not too loud nor obnoxious. Also, our service was GREAT. Our server was Jessika, and she was on point with all our orders, offered great recommendations, and we never had to wait long for her to stop by and check on us. Finally, they have a lot of entertainment for FREE. There were several free arcade games, dart throwing, corn hole, ping pong tables and foosball tables. We enjoyed our first experience so much, a few of us came back a separate day. It was even better! They moved some tables and booths around to make the seating arrangement better, the food was still delicious, and our server was fantastic. The staff is friendly and accommodating, and even though they're still in their "soft opening" phase (just one week in), they're absolutely crushing it. Visited AR for the first time we were the first ones waiting for doors to open. Clean, inviting decor with booths and tables along with a large bar area. Our waitress was super nice as well as the manager who came over to check on us. We had margaritas which were delicious this place is not only bbq but more Tex Mex as they also had tacos, quesadillas, etc. we ordered wings which had a nice smokey flavor. We also had queso and chips. Queso wasn't hot when it arrived so they replaced it (understandable because we were the first guests of the day). The waitress suggested the combo so you can get a variety. I did the 2-1-1 combo (brisket, carnitas taco and rice & beans). The brisket was soft however could have been more char for my liking. When you open a new business , you have to have help . My husband and I stood at the entrance for almost 15 minutes , with an another family of 4 . No one acknowledged us . there was one waitress/hostess , I questioned a couple waiting at a table with water and they said they had been sitting for quite a while because the girl was working alone . This place heavily has been advertised as "kid friendly" Worst spot ever for kids. Games yes. But basically mainly in their parking lot area which is so dangerous for kids. You can't eat and see your kids. Manager there Danny should be let go. He's very rude. The vibes are so weird with the table set up, the staff all seem very confused over any request. Hello, I made my way to Austin Republic for the first time. I was enthusiastic since I'm from Texas, raised in San Antonio and resided in Austin for a number of years. When it comes to "Texas BBQ" I always judge by the brisket. Everything else is "easy"...fellow "PitDudes" and "PitGals" know exactly what I mean. The brisket was dry, lacked in seasoning and overall a disappointment. I'm only reviewing the brisket. The ribs, chicken and sausage may be off the chain for all I know. I've smoked way better briskets at home. Plus, they need to teach the kitchen staff how to slice the brisket properly. I did enjoy the side of potato salad. The menu also has some delectable items that seem very good. Hopefully these aspects can be corrected because if they don't they can't cite Texas nor Austin about their BBQ. As a bar and happy hour spot it seems on point. Even for having a family night out. I'll give them another shot later. read more

Atmosphere- loud and obnoxious Service -the one star goes to HALEY Loud crazy music, inspiring children to run wild through the restaurant waited one hour for food to be served. Spoke to the manager Amber, who had no control of the environment whatsoever a service manager in high-end restaurants was dining with us who spoke to Amber she should've terminated the music and ask the families to have their children remain seated. It was a major liability for their restaurant and a horrifying experience for those dining there. We will, of course, NEVER RETURN'!! Austin Republic just opened on July 26, 2025 in North Palm Beach. We waited one week to let them get some of the kinks worked out. We went at 5pm Saturday, we sat in the bar with only about 6 other customers. We ordered a glass of wine and reviewed the menu. Think it's weird they have several tacos listed on the menu individually priced but in small price must order 2. When we ordered both our dinners, the bartender said she didn't think they had the hot dog that was on the menu, they hadn't had it for a week but she said she'd check. A few minutes later someone came out and told her they had hot dogs. Then about 5 minutes later someone came out and told us they didn't have any hot dogs, really! We placed a replacement item for my husband. 1 minute later they came out with my dinner. I said "WHAT", we want our meals together. They took back my dinner only to return 10 minutes later with both our meals. Obviously they just bought out the original burrito that since it was cold. My husband had the Brisket Melt which looked like a grilled cheese sandwich with some meat. We live 1 mile from this location and we were excited to have a new place, very disappointed! read more
