    Baby Back with Shrimp
    Andrew C.

Yes, we were in the mood for some savory, smoky, succulent meat. We were told that Park Avenue BBQ Grille is the place for us. Located off busy US One, set back is Park Avenue BBQ. Baby Back ribs, St. Louis ribs, pulled pork and beef brisket is what this restaurant is all about. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor dining with an unassuming indoor dining room. We went for a combo platter of baby backs and shrimp. The shrimp was good, but the ribs were not falling off the bone tender. The collard greens and mashed potatoes sides tasted like they had a touch of sugar in it. Unfortunately, the entrée was not what I expected at Park Avenue BBQ. Although, our service was particularly good for outdoor dining.

Pickles had a cinnamon and vinegar flavor, fried catfish had a slight pepper flavor, cornbread crumbled but was soft and light. BBQ sauces were good, with the "wicked bbq" being both spicy and ghostpepper-like hot. Wow! The name fits! This restaurant has ample free parking in front and in back of the restaurant. The decor looks like a converted chain restaurant in the late 1970s.

This was supposed to be a brisket plate. Instead it was scrapings and debris with the approximate texture of dog food.
    Too Much S.

This was supposed to be a brisket plate. You know. Smoked brisket, neatly sliced, unless you're talking chunks of fatty burnt ends, of course. Instead it was scrapings and debris with the approximate texture of dog food. And not the good stuff. The sides were quite good, but I resent that I paid $26 for the main that was absolute garbage.

    Cup of Hotties

After a hot day on the boat we stopped into Park Avenue BBQ for a much needed lunch. We were in and out within 40 minutes. My boyfriend and I both ordered the 1/4 chicken, which comes with two sides and cornbread.. for $8!!! The price is unbelievable. They bring out a small cup of complimentary pickles (hotties) prior to the meal. Our meal was cooked perfectly, minus a small corner of my chicken was a tad dry. Otherwise the cornbread was moist and the fries, beans and Mac and cheese were good. We have been to this PA BBQ location a few times and it's consist great food and service.

Half rack special with five ribs, mashed taters and Mac and cheese.

Great food at a fair price. Service is always great, Jamie is the best. She remembers what we want before we can tell her.

For sides we got Mac n cheese and collard greens. A Cornbread muffin. And a Mixed berry Cobbler for dessert. Everything was truly outstanding. That brisket was so good. Loved the sauces at the table which were fun to try the different options and complemented the pulled pork really nicely. Was really pleasantly surprised by the staff. It was made with brisket, sauteed peppers & onions, and topped with a poblano cheese sauce. I am not huge on these type of subs because in my past experience, the bread gets too soggy for me to enjoy. But I was pleasantly surprised when it didn't! I did end up eating it like open face sandwiches cause there was too much meat to close it - but that's not a bad problem to have lol! We also ordered a couple of sides - mac n cheese and potato salad - good! We also got some of the jalapeno cheddar sausage - great flavor and spice level! It's the kind of restaurant that you walk up to the window, order what you'd like, and then they prepare and have it for you either at check our or give you a number for your table, so they can bring it out to you. Everyone that worked there was friendly and helpful! It definitely felt like a BBQ place when you walked in, but a touch bit more of a modern feel. I'd definitely like to come back and try some of their other meats and sides. But for what we ordered and time we were there, it was good and we enjoyed our lunch!

On our drive home from Miami to Jacksonville, we traded Interstate 95 for the slower, more scenic A1A. It made for beautiful views, but after crawling through one coastal town after another, lunch became a priority. A quick search landed us at Stage Kitchen & Bar on PGA Boulevard, a restaurant I later learned had earned a place in the 2025 Michelin Guide. After one meal, it was easy to understand why. We began with two appetizers that could not have been more different, duck confit egg rolls and a grilled cheese. Calling the grilled cheese "just a grilled cheese" would be unfair. Brie melted between perfectly griddled bread kissed with white truffle oil already sounds luxurious. Pair it with a bright mango jam and suddenly a childhood comfort food becomes something unexpectedly elegant. Richness met sweetness in all the right proportions. The duck confit egg rolls were equally memorable. The duck was deeply seasoned with Middle Eastern spices, giving each bite layers of warm, savory flavor. The accompanying peanut chutney added sweetness, nuttiness, and just enough contrast to keep the dish from becoming too heavy. These egg rolls packed far more personality than their modest appearance suggested. For lunch, my wife ordered the grilled black grouper sandwich. The fish, sourced fresh from local suppliers, was flaky, moist, and clean tasting. Lettuce, tomato, onion, and a malt vinegar aioli gave the sandwich brightness without overwhelming the fish. It was simple, balanced, and exactly what a fresh fish sandwich should be. I chose Stage's signature burger, two Certified Angus Beef patties topped with aged white cheddar, caramelized onions, sunflower sprouts, and their house "fancy sauce." This is the kind of burger that reminds you why burgers became America's favorite sandwich in the first place. Cooked to a juicy medium, every bite was rich without becoming heavy. The caramelized onions added sweetness, the white cheddar delivered sharpness, and the sunflower sprouts provided freshness and texture. The fancy sauce contributed just enough heat to keep everything interesting without stealing the spotlight. Dessert continued the restaurant's habit of taking familiar flavors and giving them thoughtful refinement. My sticky rice ice cream, finished with mango sauce and toasted coconut, captured everything I love about mango sticky rice while transforming it into something lighter and more playful. It was creative without feeling gimmicky. My wife ordered three macarons from local pastry maker Macaroner, S'mores, Passion Fruit, and Lime Coconut. Each shell was delicately crisp before giving way to a soft, airy center, exactly as a proper macaron should. Stage Kitchen & Bar takes familiar dishes and quietly elevates them through technique, quality ingredients, and restraint. Nothing feels overcomplicated or designed simply to impress. Every plate feels carefully considered. Sometimes trusting Google is a gamble. This time, it paid off. Great restaurants don't always announce themselves. Sometimes they're simply waiting for hungry travelers willing to take the next exit.

The special of the day on Thursday is 10wings for $10 dollars. So I ordered those and a side of beef nachos and my husband American burger 8oz with bacon and onion rings. As I look around I believe it opened up a hour before we walked in not to many people but within 30 minutes it got busy. Very clean restaurant and the vibe was friendly and music was playing not to loud there are pool tables and darts if you wanted to play. The nachos came to the table huge plate ...of course I was going share with my husband and we loved them fresh chips and the beef was seasoned and cheese was all over the chips there were red chips and black and basic mixed in green peppers with onions sour cream and we really enjoyed them but we did take it home was a lot . My wings I asked for garlic Parmesan which wasn't a choice but the waitress said no problem when my wings came to table they smell fresh and I see parm cheese on top with garlic.... hmm...not what I expected I want sauce not cheese and garlic put on top that's not garlic Parmesan sauce , so I did ask for the wings to be toss in honey garlic sauce a choice that was on the menu .
