I love Auto Air and More. They fixed the A/C in my 2000 Kenworth after the previous owner put it through a wall. Definitely quality work.

Stay away from Tom at Auto Air and more. I needed to get this out quickly so no one else is ripped off. He has a script and sells it quickly and his pitch is done most likely over and over through out the day. However he probably does fix ac he will get you in for sn inspection, visually look at it make a bunch of claims how the car has FALSELY LEAKING SINCE IT WAS BOUGHT. ( my car was bought brand new and no leaks have been found). In short, I walked out after the inspection feeling he was sketchy...my intuition was right... I went down the street, the mechanic opened the hood checked the fuse for the ac it was blown....swapped it out no charge and I have ac. Returning customer and the advisor still WILLINGLY OVERCHARGED ME... I will preface this by stating that I have been a professional technician for a high line company for about a decade now. So I know my way around an AC system. The reason why I come here is because the shop I work at doesn't have R-12 refrigerant. So I can't really work on R-12 AC systems in my shop. Here's the good part and why they got 2 stars instead of one. They took me in same day as a walk in. Service was fairly quick. For that I will give them credit. Here's what happened and why I was thinking of giving them one star. Advisor came out to my truck, I told him I just need a top up as the summer heat is starting to set in. I also told him I have a very small leak from the front seal on the compressor. I came here 2 years ago to get the system topped up and the AC has been cold ever since, and now the compressor still turns on and what not, it just doesn't blow as cold anymore. He did a visual on my truck and said yep your compressor still has that slight leak out the front of the compressor. He found the AC spec sticker under the hood and it stated the capacity of the system is 800grams which converts to about 1.75lbs of refrigerant. He prepped me by saying we might have to put in up to 1.75lbs of regrigerant. But we do charge by the 1/4lb. He then kept stating to me that the system does hold 1.75lbs and told me the price for the 1.75lbs of R-12 like worse case scenario this is how much it will be. But anyone that is 609 certified and actually works on AC systems should know that the AC system isn't empty when the compressor actually engages. The AC system has to see a certain amount of pressure in the lines to begin with to engage the clutch and turn the compressor on. If the system was absolutely empty or near empty the compressor clutch will not engage. They took my truck back to the shop to perform the AC work. During the time I'm waiting, one of the service advisors and I, we spark some small talk and I mention that I am a mechanic in town. The advisor decides to take me around back and show me around the shop. After maybe about 30min of waiting my truck comes back up front and the advisor calls me from the waiting room says my truck is ready Now here is the reason why this place should get a 1 star review. Advisor says to me ok my mechanic put down that the system took the full 1.75lbs of refrigerant. I said "wow so the system was empty?" And he said "it must've been" so here's where I check him and give him a chance to clarify that he may have made a mistake... I replied to him "wow that's interesting, hey you would think that if the compressor turns on there would be some sort of refrigerant in the system right" he then replied "I guess not" very quickly and charged me the full amount. Even if he checked himself or checked with the mechanic and put down that they charged 1.50lbs and told me there was only .25lbs in the system I would've been okay with it. But this guy just ignored my comments and willingly overcharged me... again I gave him a chance to correct himself... HERES MY POINT OUT OF ALL OF THIS!!! if they will willingly overcharge a mechanic for a simple AC system service... do you think they will overcharge you? The person who may not know anything about cars at all!? I can't recommend this place any longer by word of mouth. And I won't be going back for their services anymore. If I do go back it will be just to buy R-12 from them because at this point I'd rather do my own AC service with manual guages and a scale. Then to have them overcharge me again... read more

My old bmw needed to AC recharge and I went to the local auto parts shop in Henderson, bought kit and asked them where do I go for refrigerant evacuated, They highly recommended this shop, So I drove down there talked to very nice gentleman name David, He was little busy at the time but he took my car right away removed refrigerant and said I don't have to pay anything, I've felt guilty B'cause he was kind of busy!!! The next day I went back there bought recharging kit that I forgot to buy, David installed conversion adapter for me which I didn't know how to hook up he explained and showed me , helped me out!!! Had to come here to get an AC clutch for an Oldsmobile cutlass, 1970 model year. They had a remanufactures clutch in stock and the price was $108 which can't be beat. They also sell used clutches for the old R12 compressors. The staff was super friendly and I was in and out quick. These guys say they have everything I could ever need. So I will keep them on my list of places to go when I need auto AC parts. read more

I went in for an estimate for my car with AC not working and I was told by this guy at the front desk that I have to sign a waiver !! for a written estimate and I said why ? and he said, because I have to be present in person, for a written estimate and I said yes, I'll wait around and he said no you can't, because we don't know how long it's going to take, it may take all day and I said I made an appointment for 8 am a week ago, for the very purpose, that I didn't want to spend all day. It did not make any sense to me about this written estimate waiver (estimates are always in writing ) and I was willing to leave the place after not signing the waiver. He said the car is already taken into the shop, so I said Let It go and I paid for the estimate and I will never ever come back to this place. They may have provided some good service to few select customers, but generally speaking, these people are too sleek and I don't trust them. read more

These guys went above and beyond for me. I called in because my air conditioning was not blowing cold after a 6 Hour drive in the middle of summer. They were completely booked out but offered to take a look at my issue and told me they couldn't make any promises. We showed up they immediately identified the issue and resolved it on the spot. They could've sent me away, but they made room for me and got the air-conditioning blowing cold again. I can't even explain how appreciative I am for these guys to have made this happen. read more

Called a grumpy man picked up phone I told him what was happening to my vehicle.I also told him that I had tried putting a/c pro in the 20 oz bottle from auto zone as soon as I said that he went on a small rant on how bad that is for your car at that point he said he would not put that in his a/c machine even his e-vac machine told me I should not of done that that it is now a three thousand dollar repair so to be clear I said so your telling me that I have ruined my system and it's going to cost me three grand to fix he said yes that's what I'm telling you so I said ok and hung up anyway long story short being in the auto repair business for 27 years I thought what a jerk so I got the ac fluid line from parts geek online for 21.00 bucks put it on my self one half inch bolt to remove line hole job took 20 minutes to take of line and put new one on bought two 12oz cans of 134a from auto zone for 11.00 each used the cap gauge from the ac pro can to refill a/c works better than before blows ice feel sorry for anyone who might listen to this guy but he shouldn't be allowed to pick up phone time to retire if you hate it that much pal. read more

Take a hard pass on this place...in the wait for a "visual inspection" I observed the service here to be mediocre at best but the nail in the coffin is trying to charge me 175 to "inspect" my car for an estimate ???? how do they stay in biz? clearly by ripping ppl off. Went to several other spots when I left here and every single one was able to give me a FREE estimate, and greet/treat customers with some appreciation for their business. But Tom is a special kind of DB, after ignoring me for 10minutes he popped the hood and said he clearly observed a leak in the ac compressor but had to charge me to tell me how much more he would charge me. Auto Parts department extremely unorganized, poor customer service, be aware that if you order a part will take the double of the time they promised you to get it,every time I check if the part arrived they will act like they have not idea what I was talking about, ( part was paid 5 days ago ) they seem lost. Was driving from LA to Vegas for a weekend getaway and AC died 45 mins from arrival. Found the closest AC repair shop near the strip on a Sat morning and the staff was extremely helpful. Unknown to me, they are a preferred carmax shop and my maxcare plan covered everything but was going to take a few days to fix. They were able to identify the AC issue plus few other things, worked with carmax and got everything all taken care of. The staff was very helpful every stage of the process and what would have been a $3k job all taken care of for $50 deductable. Went in for a suspected leak in AC system as I smelled an odor. Tom personally inspected my system and recommended a simple and reasonably-priced top-off without trying to sell me, let alone pressure me, on anything else. I have been going to Auto Air and more for about 5 years and have had nothing but a great experience! They have installed 2 rear AC units in our high roof vans. Took my car in after have having a/c work done somewhere else they said it would be around $700 to get running but they needed to do leak test done to make sure. After doing test said I would need a new raditor and compressor which other shop did not mention and would cost $2000 to repair unbelievable felt like I was getting rip off. ame and pick up car right away! read more

After looking all over town for someone to repair my AC, i chose auto air and more. After a friendly and quick inspection, i agreed to the repair that seemed necessary, and left my car to be repaired. When i picked up my car, again, no problems seen. In fact the air was cool. So i drove home happy, but when i got back in my car two hours later, the ac was gone and back was the hot blowing air. As it was now 7 pm i waited until the next morning. I took my car back to see what had happened and after another quick inspection they said they would need my car for the day because the hose that was repaired wasnt done properly. I received an apology for this and was promised it would be fixed asap! I returned later to get the car and again the ac was cold, so again i was happy. Two days later i lost all my ac again. Bummed i contacted the company. They told me "to do any warranty work, if thats actually the problem which is highly unlikely because we have looked at that hose twice and we dont make mistakes, it should be as early as friday". I said "friday??? Its monday! Why so long?" i was told "take it or leave it, we are busy". I drove to another shop and had them sinply check out my system. It was out of ac, the hose they fixed was still broken, and what was crazy to hear was the mechanic asked me "you took this to auto air and more didnt you?" I was suprised because i didnt say that to anyone. I asked how he could have possibly known that. He said because it "looks like their work, soldered joints on the old hose that are cracked, bad crimps on the fittings, etc." he showed me the hole in the hose. The new mechanic repaired it with a new hose and recharged the system. Now i have had ac for two weeks with no problems. Stay away from auto air and more. I delivered parts for these guys in 2012. I usually get my car fixed by a mobile mechanic. But, since I knew these guys as honest and expert at AC I took my 11 year old mini-van to them for repair. I've been going to Tom's shop since 2005 and they never let me down. 'Auto Air' has serviced the A/C in my '97 Lincoln Town Car and my 2004.5 Dodge diesel pick-up since it was new and will continue to do so into the future. My 85 year old father lives in Northern Utah and has been taken advantage of by some shops up there so he recently drove down to see us just before Thanksgiving and have Tom repair his faulty A/C while he was here. Tom had the Mercury Grand Marquis in-and-out in within 3-4 hours and now Dad reports the heat & A/C work perfectly. Tom runs a tight-ship and his employees are the best. I'll be back.....count on it. A woman sold me a set of o rings for the EATC on my Mercury Grand Marquis. There were a bunch of them in a bag and none of them fit. I then went back to exchange them for the proper o rings and they would not give me my money back for the original o rings since the bag was opened. Not sure how I was supposed to see if any of the o rings were right without opening the bag. Also why would this woman sell me a bag of useless o rings when she was informed of the year make and model of my car ? I will now be filing a complaint with the better business bureau. read more

Had a difficult and frustrating experience. They were completely disorganized, diagnosing a problem, then losing the part that was ordered to fix the issue. Days later when they found the part, a new mechanic said that was not the issue at all and diagnosed a completely different problem. I needed for a shop to look at my suspension so I called AAA on Durango drive as I am a member and asked for a reference to have my suspension looked at. I was recommended to Auto Air & More 4295 W. Tropicana Ave. so I called explaining my problem and made an appointment for the following morning September 7, 2012. I got there earlier than scheduled and they set up the paper work for an estimate. About an hour later Gil came out and told me they diagnosed my problem and I needed to replace the ( Front lower ( inner ) Control arm bushings ) at a cost of $360.42 of which $260.00 was for labor. I told Gil to go ahead after he said it would take about two to three hours. When I returned to the Shop my car was parked out front ready to go. I went inside and waited for Gil to bring the bill. When he came forward he told me everything was done but I would have to have my wheels balanced. I said i thought you did that and he said no they do not balance tires. I asked for recommendation and he referred me to Discount tire. I immediately drove to one near my home to have them do the balance. I will say when I left Auto Air & more the front end still felt a little off so I said to myself, ( balance ) After the balance was done I still had a problem with smooth driving so when I got home I looked over the bill closely and saw this line//// Recommend customer to get alignment ck & tires balance checked.///// I had thought I had already paid for alignment because it's stated they do that in their advertising, Gil had never verbally said anything to me beyond getting tires balanced so I am at a loss to know what is going on until I call them next. I don't know if they are open today ( Saturday ) September 8th but will call at 9am to get an explanation. I also noticed my steering wheel is no longer centered horizontally as it was when I brought it into the shop of Auto Air & more so they have some explaining to do. Now I am made to wonder if I needed the bushings they replaced. I did say with my mileage at thirty five thousand I thought it should last longer. Gil said to me with the desert heat etc: they can go at this stage. I think I have been had but will see what Gil has to say in explanation. I thought I was safe knowing they had AAA membership in good standing. Then I saw eight negative reviews on Google about this place and now I am really worried. Can I stop payment? Don't know? probably not but will check with my bank. Good ol Vegas, right? Will update my review as soon as I contact Auto Air & more, today or Monday. Where do I start. This place is for TOURISTS ONLY! The same ones that will pay $10 for a $1 water. Let them pay the outrageous fees. RED FLAG 1 Free Inspection? I think not. They literally lifted my hood up, asked what was wrong, checked to see if there was any freon and told me that it would cost me for a further inspection. What the hell. He wasted both my time and theirs. RED FLAG 2 Another thing, which I am sure they did not know I was sitting in the waiting room (which is a seperate room off to the side) I heard the workers (Gil, Tom etc.) discussing an issue about a customer who was upset (BUT very cordial) that they had screwed his car up multiple times and just wanted his car fixed. Well, their debate was whether they should charge him or not. One worker proceeded to comment, "We only screw over the good guys and he kinda knows what he's talking about" and another saying, "Well we did screw his car up three times"... RED FLAG 3 Beware of Uncle Tom (He literally looks like someones old, sweaty Uncle Tom who knows NOTHING about cars, but needs a little side work for the pay) The lady at the front desk had me fill some papers out and said Tom would be helping me after he set up the mechanics in the back to start my inspection. It was August of last year when the air conditioning in my little car gave out. I can't really remember how I found Auto Air & More but I called them. They could not get me in that day but asked me to bring the car a day later. All the men there were very patient with their explanations of what was wrong and how much it would cost. My overall memory is how polite they were and how they gave me what I think was probably a very good deal. I would recommend them in a heartbeat and will return there if ever my air conditioning in my car fails again. read more

" we gave you a discount"... they told me they had to remove the manifold to get to it AFTER my CA mechanic spent 30 minutes on the phone "teaching their 30 year veteran" a better way! The truck never made it 40 miles. Told me to call AC Delco - $1200 to tow my truck to California. these people are IDIOTS!!!
