Even though it is no longer an ongoing dispute, the lack of ethics on the part of management is appalling and I feel it my civic duty to share this with other potential customers. Briefly, the paint job looked great for the first couple of years, then, unaccountably, it started peeling. When it became obvious that a cheap sealer was used and that was the reason for the peeling, I took it back, certain that they would do the right thing and redo it. Alas, they would not. But what I found most unethical was the 4 months long run-around I got, instead of a straight forward "NO, we are not redoing it, its been too long". It's ironic Danny and the owner have religious materials on display, trying to convey adherence to a higher moral ground. Yet, when it came to righting a wrong and correcting a job that looked good for a couple of years before falling apart, they failed miserably to live up to the pious image they try to project. Danny was especially adept at evasiveness, leading me on for months before finally announcing the paint job was not going to be corrected at all . It was too late to file a complaint. read more

Ok, so someone hits by wife's brand new car in the parking lot causing damage to her bumper. One of the insurance options is Auto Body World. Based on the two positive reviews, we decide to give the place a shot.. Right away we notice a different attitude about the place. Danny is actually very nice and helpful. So often at automobile repair shops customers are treated as PITAs -- perhaps because the overabundance of work? Who knows.. All I know is that the service and politeness was noticeably pleasant. It put us at ease right away. As far as service, how about this? They drove my wife home from their place. 30 minutes away! And it was 30 minutes after they closed! Talk about customer service. In my mind the great work they did on the bumber is only a small part of the positive experience we had at Auto Body World. I highly recommend this place for your auto body work needs. read more

This place is pretty awesome! I scratched up the bumper to my girlfriend's brand new car, and was looking for a great place to get this fixed in Fairfax. Based on the damage (scuffs, some scratches), it looked like it could be buffed out but I was expecting the worst - a full bumper repaint. I went to a couple of places and both said that a bumper repaint would be required (the second place offered to use touch up paint and buffing also, but said there was deep paint damage and it wouldn't be perfect). I arrived at Auto Body World (after reading Yelp reviews) and Danny took care of me real quick. He looked at the car, and just told me to hold on before he gave me an estimate. He came out with his gear, and buffed out about 90% of the damage (including what was identified as "deep paint scratches"). There was one actual scratch where paint came off, and he provided me with solutions to get it taken care of in case we didn't want to go forward with the full repaint. He also provided me with the bumper repaint estimate which I requested just in case we wanted to go that route one day. In the end, the buffing did the job for a very reasonable price, and even the full repaint estimate was much more competitive than the other places I went to. I highly recommend supporting this business, customer service is top notch and the work is exceedingly great. read more

This shop did some body work on our car for two separate claims at once. One repair was our own fault and filed under our insurance, Geico, and another was a result of someone else and filed under their insurance, USAA. We were able to call Dan a lot and get updates since this was a multifaceted and complicated case, but we did wish communication would have been a little more proactive. But, this isn't enough to deduct a star since the level of communication they did have was far above and beyond what you'd normally expect from a repair shop. The location is a little hard to find since half the building is a different auto shop, so just know you need to go all the way to the back of the parking lot. There's a clean, comfortable waiting room inside complete with TV so if you've got quick repairs or need to wait in line, it's convenient for those purposes. Speaking of clean, they shampooed and washed the outside AND inside of our car, which was a nice touch. When we picked up our car, USAA had made a mistake and had mailed the check to us instead of to the shop like we'd asked, and Dan was beyond cool about letting us call them, iron out the details, and get them an email or phone verification that USAA would be mailing it so we could leave without the work paid for yet. And then, for the work itself- you couldn't tell anything was messed up at all. And because he was already doing work on the bumper, he threw in some extra scuff work for little issues under and on the front bumper, plus pulled out a little mystery ding above our front passenger wheel without charge and without being asked. This shop is the BEST. I brought my BMW in to have minor driver side damage repaired. I received a very reasonable estimate. After the repairs were complete, I noticed that they had also reattached a partially dislodged rear spoiler and had also repaired a small paint chip I had on the opposite end of the vehicle. I research my mechanics/body shops like I do my doctors. Thoroughly. I've been to ... six shops in the Chantilly - Arlington area. Danny takes the cake on price and service. I had a dent in my car that he fixed for a little more than half of what another auto body shop quoted me and it came out looking brand new. Best of all, he also offers mechanical service as well as auto body work. He gave me great advice on my brakes. I had already gone to another shop about a squealing issue. They said I had bad quality brakes, which surprised me as I had thoroughly vetted the type of brakes to put in when I had them changed. When I brought it up to Danny, he told me it was a manufacturer issue and said that my brakes were good, just not a good fit for Nissan and that I was better off going OEM as they would be cheaper anyways. This place is awesome!! We have come in for small repairs twice and will be back again (I am a terrible driver). They are always cheaper than what my insurance quotes me by about half and their service is super fast and friendly. I feel like they are really giving me an honest answer and a more than fair price. For example, during this latest run of terrible weather our front windshield cracked. Our insurance determined it would need to be replaced but because the cost was less than our deductible they wouldn't open a claim on it. If we went to their contracted service center they guaranteed a price of just under $400. A quick phone call to Danny at Auto Body World and I was quoted 1 hour of my time and $250, that was a flat charge no hidden labor fees or added taxes etc. Can't recommend this place enough! read more

So...my driver's side window had been acting up for a couple of months. I'd looked around for a repair center, but just hadn't made the time to get it fixed. When I say "acting up," I mean not rolling all the way up without help, whistling air in my car, which drove me crazy, and eventually landed me at a gas station in an emergency situation when I tried to "fix" it (Jimmy-rig) before getting a car wash. Deep sigh...I rolled the window down, but It wouldn't roll back up (panic was on the rise). Outside temperature was dropping significantly and it was late afternoon (4:45ish). Did I mention I was panicking?!? I opened my Yelp app to immediately find an advertisement for Auto body World. To my amazement, Auto Body World stays open until 6p (they clearly had my attention)! But that wasn't good enough information, so I called and was greeted by Danny. Friendly and straightforward, he told me he would only charge me if he had to open the door panel. Now, understand, I called multiple other shops in the area (because...Yelper), all of whom told me they would charge me at least a $80-150 just to look at my window. I even asked the mechanic at the gas station where I was located, who told me the base cost would be $450! At which point, I threw up the deuces and bounced. Plus, no other auto body shop stayed open as late as ABW. I kindly declined the rest and took my fanny to to see Danny. Danny, just as friendly as he was when I spoke to him on the phone, assessed my window and the panel. He asked for permission to proceed to opening the panel and I agreed. I sat in a small office space while he continued a deeper assessment of my window. Well, approx. 20 mins passed and I looked up to find Danny standing in front of me with a regulator that was severely bent on one end. The thing was so bent I had already conceded to driving with a broken window, because I imagined the cost would be outrageous. Danny looked at me with honest eyes and said, "It's pretty bent up, but I can try to fix it and see if it'll work." (insert emoji with bugged eyes) REALLY?!?! He came back into the office around 15-20 mins later, I expected him to have the regulator in his hand and to tell me his efforts found no avail, yet Danny entered into the room with a victorious glow. At which point, I crowned Danny the REALEST MVP! Window fixed and working like new?!? Reasonable price?!? Friendly and honest?!?! I say YASSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!! And best of all: I didn't have to brave the cold. This type of establishment can get all of my business, and I don't even live in the area!!! Now what I didn't tell Danny is that my husband, has just purchased a fixer and WE most definitely will continue to patronize Auto Body World. Outstanding bodywork and painting on my Ram 3500. They went the extra distance to get it right.

Very affordable and honest work. I called in for an estimate to replace one of my side view mirrors---because the duct tape just wasn't cutting it for keeping it on. As stylish as the neon pink duct tape was, I knew it wasn't going to last too long in the snow/rain/whatever-it-is-that-this-dc-metro-weather-is. Danny gave me both a quote for using aftermarket parts and dealer EOM parts. I called around to some other places and his quotes were very reasonable compared to any of the competitors. His quote was almost $200 less than the dealer for using dealer parts. He also included the labor for painting the mirror to match the color of my car. The other body shop I called that was quoting me the same price for the mirror said that I would have to go paint it myself since it just came in black matte. Danny simply assumed that I needed the paint job too and still gave me a quote that was cheaper than the other body shop. When I took my car in, he quickly determined that in fact I had a mirror with heat and checked the price for the parts again. He said it was actually cheaper than his original quote and took off a few bucks! Services was always prompt and friendly. Can I give them more than 5 stars!? I am not normally one to write reviews, but man, I have to give this shop props. I went somewhere else first, and honestly their quote seemed reasonable, at first. I had some pretty minor damage from another car barely rolling into my back bumper at an angle. They were going to replace the whole bumper because they claimed it was warped. As an afterthought attached to the quote page they mentioned some other pieces that *might* need replacing when the bumper was off. All in all it could have wound up about 2k. The more I slept on that, the more I didn't like it. Nothing REALLY needed replacing back there, but I was sure they'd tell me it did and may put me in a spot where I was forced to replace parts I didn't want to. Fast forward: Out of dumb luck (thankfully!) I happened to stop by Auto Body World with my mom, whose car they pulled a bumper dent out of. Danny not only pulled the dent (and made it look SO much better), he also buffed a nasty scuff on the side of her car for no charge (and he made that look so much better too). I put him on the spot and asked for his opinion, replace vs repair (the other place wouldn't even offer me repair as an option). He said repair for sure. That's honesty right there...they stood to make more off of a replacement. He said it would be the same quality of workmanship in the end either way. Well, he wasn't kidding. In 3 days they repaired the bumper and I CANNOT tell it isn't straight off the factory. I am extremely picky and was bracing myself that they cannot possibly make it perfect. I'm pretty sure unicorns exist now too, because they did make it perfect. I am so thrilled! I don't want to need more body work again, but if I do, I know who is getting my business.
