Emily Smith is extremely unprofessional and should not be the office manager. She is incredibly rude and does not follow up when she states she will. I spoke with her 3 weeks ago and she said she wasn't familiar with my file and would have an expert reach out, after not hear back for 3 weeks I called back and she stated there were no notes in my file about my call. When I said that I had spoken with her and have the call log still in my phone she became very rude, kept cutting me off while trying to talk, and eventually hung up on me. Full disclosure: I didn't end up hiring Auto Damage Experts for my Diminished Value Claim because they recommended against it.This review is solely based off of my interactions with them leading up to that point. Last month I was hit by a cement truck in my Prius. Everything has been a hassle since then: rental cars, insurance companies, doctors, car repairs, constant pain...you name it. I'm grumpy over the whole thing. The one easy part was dealing with Auto Damage Experts. I filled out a form on their website and quickly received an email Jessica Steele requesting more info. We had to go back and forth via email a few times, but she was incredibly kind, patient, and professional in helping me get all the required info to her. She always let me know what to expect and followed through. A few days later I received a call explaining they didn't think it would be beneficial for me to hire them. All my questions were answered. I was given some incredibly helpful advice on dealing with the insurance company. I hung up thinking "Wow." I feel like I received some long forgotten, old school customer service. Some real neighbor helping neighbor stuff that just doesn't happen anymore. I hope I'm never in need of their services again. And I'm sorry that you're reading this, cause it probably means you are. I can not begin to thank David, Emily and Auto Damage Experts enough for their help, stewardship and professionalism! This review is LONG overdue and I'm finally getting around to posting my extremely positive experience with ADE. In July of this year (2017) I was in a car accident. I owned a completely paid off (and very well maintained) '07 Honda Ridgeline when someone ran a red light at full speed and blindsided me. The framework was bent significantly and the vehicle was deemed "a total loss". When dealing with insurance directly they were low balling me. I did a significant amount of research and sent to the insurance company "comp's" on an '07 Ridgeline (I sent in 6 of them) and my request for the settlement. The insurance company balked at what I was requesting and said what they were offering was fair and reasonable - which was about $1200 below market value based on NADA and the comp's I sent to them. So rather than get upset or stressed out about the frustrating insurance process I hired David and ADE to take things over. They sent a well constructed letter to the insurance company, outlined what their role was, the process to follow going forward and what Oregon state insurance statues were on how things needed to proceed. After an independent adjuster reviewed things they put together a detailed damage report, a diminished value report and compiled comp's on my '07 Ridgeline. After some back and forth with the insurance company I ended up receiving about $1600 more than what I was originally encouraging the insurance company to settle for. Not only was the insurance company out the $1200 additional I had requested but an additional $1600 as well (a difference of $2800 compared to what the insurance company offered me PLUS they reimbursed the expense I spent on hiring ADE to represent me). Guess the insurance company should have saved their bottom line by settling for the amount I had actually requested. Ironically, I'm glad they didn't... Well done ADE!!!!!!! I hope I don't need your services in the future....but if I do I will gladly reach out! These guys are pretty awesome. I hired them to do an appraisal on my totaled vehicle. Far exceeded my expectations and have assisted in recovering money from the at-fault-motorist's insurance that I would have otherwise never known was accessible to me. Also hired them to appraise a prospective purchase in another state and they got back to me quickly enough to where I was able to make the purchase less than 24 hours later. David is great. After having a number of issues with my car following an accident I was connected to Auto Damage Experts for a post repair inspection. David was awesome! David looked at my car and in under 10 minutes he diagnosed that the car needed to be replaced. He then showed me the photographic evidence of what was going on and the process by which I'd get reimbursed for the car. He patiently sat with me as I freaked out a bit and explained why it was the right move. Mr. Barrett Smith conducted a pre-purchase inspection of a 1966 Corvette coupe for me on 11/20/19. It was extremely comprehensive with dozens of photos and a concise, detailed final report. We even spoke by phone during the inspection. He turned up many irregularities in the car that would have cost a lot of money which gave me some bargaining chips in negotiating a price. I really can't say enough good things about Auto Damage Experts. I used to be the proud owner of a beautifully restored / meticulously maintained German car from the 80s -- that is, until a reckless old man with no insurance ran a red light and totaled it. To have a car that you put so much blood, sweat, and tears into destroyed in an instant is bad enough; to have your insurance offer you a fraction of the car's actual value is worse. I found out about ADE through a Google search and decided to give them a call based on all the positive reviews I read. Both Emily and David gave clear and thorough explanations of why my rights were and how the process of appraising my car would work. I was skeptical at first. I didn't even know something like Diminished Value existed. David and his team treated us like family from the beginning. I drove my brand new truck off the lot and a month later someone crashed into it causing $20,000 in damage. After the truck was repaired I brought it to ADE, they inspected it and found a few repairs that still needed to be addressed. David went to the repair facility and actually showed them what needed to be repaired. I have worked with this expert group of people several times now. I highly recommend before you settle with your insurance company or the other guys regarding diminished value or total value work with Auto Damage Experts. My most recent situation regarded the value of a totaled vehicle. My family members insurance company tried to push a lower value than I believed was fair. Auto Damage Experts was able to get an additional $2,000 plus they were able to recover the $375 we paid them for the appraisal inspection. So many people are being taken by insurance companies because they don't know and understand the laws. I have used Auto Damage Experts help 3 times my self over the last several years and have referred them many times. No one I know has had anything but a 5 start experience with them! read more

ADE delivered the service it promised. I ended up getting a fair appraisal amount from my insurance company, so i would recommend the company. The only reason this is not 5 stars is the lack of communication. I called and emailed several times for status over the weeks that it took to resolve the claim, and I had better communication from the insurance company (Progressive). I didn't receive a call or email back until there was resolution. Again, the resolution was as promised, so the company does deliver, and I would recommend them. read more

I decided to wait until I had finished negotiating my diminished value claim to leave a review. In the beginning, Dave and his team at ADE were responsive. However, after submitting the report to Progressive, they went completely dark. My emails and voicemails were completely ignored. If they provide any response at all, it took weeks and responses given were FAR from helpful. It was so bad, I had concerns that there may have been a serious health issue involved... But the bottom line was... They were paid already and simply provided no client support. In the end, I was left to work through the process on my own. I was referred to ADE after a major car accident and repairs that took over 4 months. My car was not fixed properly the first or second time so I took it to a second auto body shop and they recommended calling ADE for an inspection. David looked at my car and immediately had concerns. He was great at pointing out the concerns he had and explaining what it meant in terms of safety. i can't rave enough about david and emily! my car was totaled last month and a friend referred me to ADE. i had *no idea* what my rights were or that i could dispute the insurance offer. david and emily not only educated me on my rights, but they also went to bat with the insurance company and worked very quickly. my emails were answered within hours of being sent and my phone calls were always answered or returned promptly. the paperwork they required was simple and the entire process was efficient and streamlined. in the end, ADE got me $2,500 more than the insurance company originally offered and ADE's fee was reimbursed to me by the insurance company. in the end, i paid nothing for ADE's services, but i benefited HUGELY! i cannot recommend ADE enough! it's a cryin' shame that every business doesn't offer ADE's level of customer service, support and ethics. read more

This reply is a perfect example of the length of the scam this company will go to in order to protect their reputation. They claim that all of the incredulous time delays were my fault? So, when, in the very beginning, they said my file would be handled in 1 week and I called them after 2 weeks to find out what the hold up was and they told me they were swamped with other customers, that was my fault? Or when, another time, I was told I would be called by the end of the week and 2 weeks later when I called them back their excuse was that their secretary was sick... again, this was my fault? And those weren't the only instances. If my claim was such a hassle for them from the beginning and that they thought I was withholding information (which I never did), why wouldn't they have told me this in the first place? I always received excuses as to why they couldn't keep up, which was nothing I could control but was excruciatingly frustrating, and apparently a withholding of information to me that could have helped things go more smoothly. I had been completely honest with everything that happened, and even did my own research to further help THEM out because as a sane person I did feel bad and understanding that they were swamped and had people out sick, but it got to a point where I gave up with them because of how misrepresented they had made themselves out to be. The number of times I had to email them with all uppercase letters in the subject heading saying "IMPORTANT PLEASE READ", just to get their attention after so many phone calls and the inability to leave messages due to voicemail boxes being full was astounding. When I first spoke with David (the only time) on the phone he asked if my car had been in any COLLISIONS. I said yes, one. That was the truth. It wasn't until months later when they said my car had multiple claims that I actually had to do research with my insurance company to see what those claims were and found out that they were repairs to cracked windshields, not due to any collision. Not only was I not aware that cracked windshield replacements were considered claims, (how would I, given the fact that I knew nothing about this type of business) but they weren't considered collisions anyway, and I was told by David's associate that they shouldn't even matter after we all found out what those claims were. Now they are saying on this reply that those claims would have diminished the value significantly? I find that hilarious as it is a straight up contradiction to what I was told. I am being completely misquoted in saying only that I "forgot" about those claims because what I told them was that I had no idea cracked windshields even counted as claims, or especially, collisions, like i was asked about in the beginning. There was 1 other claim showing up on my VIN number and to this day no one, not even my insurance company after a massive amount of digging and researching my VIN online, has any idea what that is, and they cared not to help me figure it out at all. The final confronting to me that these people claim to have done about this situation was so unprofessionally handled I felt sick to my stomach after the conversation. I'm a student and I paid $500 to get justice from a drunk woman who hit my parked car and caused $7500 worth of damage, and these people made me feel like all of it was my fault. That's why I wrote the reviews I did and why I will in no way take them down. Other people need to know that the way my case was handled is a possibility for them too before forking over $500, because that's a lot of money especially to someone whose car took 2 months and $7500 to repair. I believe it was Emily, who told me in a valley girl type of way that she just didn't know how to handle this because they'd never dealt with a claim of my nature in all the years they've been operating (really?). Her tone of voice was demeaning, cold and straight up rude. I found myself angry and, upset as I was, trying to talk her out of whatever insane state she had worked herself up to at this point. The end of that last conversation finished with, "We'll have a template letter for you to send to the insurance company this week." Did that ever happen? Of course not. Nothing they told me they could do ever happened in a timely, professional, truthful or courteous manner, if at all. And not once until that point had they told me that it was my fault. I believed in this company and what they did, the other reviewers seemed so pleased. If they could have left their egos at the door and actually helped me get through this process nicely as they said they would, this could have all been avoided. Unfortunately it wasn't the case. He took the time to represent us and made sure we would be able to have a clean break from this car we bought, that was said to have a clean title and car fax. After we bought the car we noticed that it had been serverly damage and was lied about on carfax. We had hired dave to do an inspection as well as a diminished value claim, and long story short he provided solid evidence and paperwork so we could return the car.
