We had infant car seats so needed to act fast for repairs, it may have ruined our plans for the day but luckily it was not raining. We made quick stop to In & Out Auto glass for the first time to see if they can help us. Manager helped us file a claim with our insurance provider; AAA and their glass network safelite. Luckily I purchased full safety glass coverage with $0 deductible with my insurance so I did not have to worry about $470 in replacement. They had to order the window for us since our vehicle was too new and window will arrive next business day. During the phone call with claims, they vaccumed the shards and taped the window up, life savers for that instead of having to drive around exposed or needing to DIY. These guys are great! We had to get our back valance window replaced after a break-in, and got a few quotes. In & Out cost $150, which was $129 lower than other quotes we got. We drove in, they had the glass in stock, and fixed it/vacuumed everything even though it was after 4:30 and close to closing time. Their waiting room is unassuming and nice, has outlets to charge your phone, and the vibe is very casual and chill, with Cantonese speaking uncles working on your car. Nobody's stressed, the environment is laid back, which is exactly what you need after your window gets smashed honestly. It is Oakland. I love Oakland, but car break in happens more often than other cities. This past weekend there was a rampage of car break-ins and vandalism that happened in a public parking garage that many residents use. I think there were 30-40 cars broken into. Anyways, that's a different story and problem. I am an anxious and laser focused person. When there is a problem, I want to fix it right away. I was about to do some errands and have a relaxing weekend until I walk to the garage and saw what happened to my car. My front passenger side window was broken into with all my stuff in the glove compartment and console thrown around. Someone was trying to find something valuable, but all I had were extra napkins, papers, sunglasses and tampons. Anyways, this was disappointing and very inconvenient. But this is not the first time my car (same car, too) was broken into in JLS. In & Out was one of the few places that were opened on a Sunday. I called them, they promptly picked up. Luckily my car was common and they have the window I need in stock. He said to come by whenever. Pricing was reasonable, too. My insurance did not pay for it because my deductible was too high and Safelite was 2X the cost of what In & Out Auto Glass quoted me. I got there, did some paper work, paid and was out within an hour. They have a lifetime warranty in case something happens to your new window. Like many auto glass places, they vacuumed and clean off any glass remains in your car, which is super helpful especially if you live in apartments and do not have a drive way, garage access or just a nearby power outlet.
