They were able to take in my 2012 Honda CRV and conduct a thorough diagnostic on two issues I've been dealing with for quite a while. I was referred by my boyfriend to see his mechanic Ken. He swore up and down that he was trust worthy and very helpful and KNOWS WHAT HE'S DOING! He was right!! I have been bringing my cars to Auto Logic for about 5-6 years now. Ken AND his staff are amazing people. Polite and also VERY TRUSTWORTHY. He tells you exactly what your car needs but really leaves it up to you as to what you would like to do rather than forcing you to get it done. I guess what I'm trying to say is they don't pressure you. They educate you in the process as well. We have all heard of shops with dishonest people and you will NOT find that here. There were a few things I needed to get done on one of my vehicles and Ken broke it down for me and suggested that we take care of the most important issue first so I could break up the work and make it more affordable. Came in for brake/rotor change and wheel alignment. Forgot to get the name but Auto Logic was very helpful in explaining the changes that were done to my car. The brakes work back to brand new and the wheel alignment feels a lot better back to stock specs. It's been 3 years since a friend recommended Auto Logic. Anything with my Honda HR-V, i bring it over here. Staff are beyond kind and straight forward. Extremely trustworthy. Will be returning as long as its the same management. Especially if you work at the airport or the maintenance base, its convenient and worth the price. Staff will even call you when theyre in the middle of troubleshooting to verify which option works best for me. Especially if things cost more and whatnot. I stopped here for an oil change, and they noticed my brakes were low and a malfunctioning headlight. While they did the oil change they tried switching the headlight lamp for free. Showed me the part that didn't work. I decided to bring my car in the next morning and do the service, and found the service honest reliable and upfront. They managed to find the broken wire that was causing the headlight issue, where other mechanics didnt even know where to start. At the end of the day they showed me my brake pads. The things were worn down to 10%. Definitely glad these guys took care of my car! Now the ride is smooth like butter! read more

The staff at Auto Logic were very knowledgeable and helpful. It's hard for me to find shops that I can trust, I usually work on my own cars but I was in a rush so I decided to bring it to a shop instead. Just needed an oil change and they got me in and out within 45 minutes. Appointment was made just the day prior. Prices were fair and although I decided to DIY my spark plugs instead of having Auto Logic perform the task, they still offered to pull one of the easily accessible spark plugs off my Lexus GS to see if the maintenance was even necessary. Brought these guys a set of tires to put on my car. I actually see these guys daily because I make deliveries to them daily. So I delivered my tires and dropped off my car and the were pretty quick, but no better or cheaper than most shops. But here is where it got weird. Several months later I got a flat and did an inspection on the rest of my tires. I noticed that the rear tires on my car were not the tires I purchased. Not only that, they were directional tires that were put on backwards! This caused uneven wear that was only noticeable on the inside edge of the tire, meaning you have to get under the car to see it. Since it was close to a year that I had the work done l, I did not bother getting into a debate with these clowns. The smog guy there is legit but keep your car out of this shop. I took my car 2 blocks down to Hanlon's Tires and they did the job right and for less money. Shop around folks, these guys are in business to create future work for themselves at your expense. Maybe someday they will read this, figure out who I am and offer me my money back. Until then, I tell all the locals I deliver to, to STAY AWAY from this place! read more

I have to say, this shop is one of the most honest and straightforward shops I've dealt with. I was interested in purchasing a used car in the San Bruno area (I'm out of state), and called around to more than 10 shops in the SF peninsula that deal with Subarus and do prepurchase inspections. I ended up going with Auto Logic after talking to Ryan on the phone, he seemed knowledgeable about the specific issues that affect the car I was interested in, and gave me a thorough breakdown of everything they would do during the inspection. Making an appointment and paying over the phone was easy, and they did a very thorough inspection in a little over an hour, for $120 (which is very competitive with all the other shops I called around to). I am SO THANKFUL I had Auto Logic inspect the car for me, they did a better job than I could have and ended up finding that the frame had been rusted out. Even though the car looked like a great deal, I decided not to purchase it after both Ken and Ryan suggested against it. I appreciate their attention to detail and patience in describing the rating system they use for the severity of leaks. I can't stress this enough: have your used car INSPECTED before you buy! Been coming here for a while and always been happy with the service. My 2008 F-150 had a check engine light. Took it to auto logic and Ryan checked the code indicating a fuel emissions leak. Instead of doing the $130 leak test they suggested replacing the fuel cap for $30. That fixed the problem and they saved me a bunch of time and money. Been here for smog checks too and they are super fast. 100% recommend. read more

But this shop attracted me because of their fun logo and most of all their color scheme. I was helped by Joe from the shop. The guy was really patient and understood I was in a hurry. Excellent and Honest Service! I was looking up their phone number and yelp popped up with my old review which reminded me that I've been coming here for 4 years now. I initially came in for smog check, and now Ken and his team are my go to guys for anything car related. I've had my tires changed, window motor replaced, leaky hose replacement plus my routine services. The service has always been fast with attention to details. Several friends have started coming here from my recommendations too. A friend from LA drove up and the car was running rough so I referred him to Ken. My friend is very particular about his car. He said the service was 1. excellent and 2. much cheaper than his regular LA mechanic! I trust that when he says it needs fixing, it means it really does need it (I had a busted hose and didn't even know it). If there are options, he will also let me know. If parts are involved the prices are always stated first and amazingly that is what is charged on my invoice. If there are cheaper options he will also let me know. I needed a car part which was only available from the dealer and quite expensive. That was the only option Ken had to purchase it. I had the option of buying it myself from a 3rd party. I got my part off Amazon for 1/3 of the dealership price. I have preferred tires for my car. I ordered them and had them sent straight to the shop for installation. Cannot recommend the team at AutoLogic enough! read more

I've had mixed results here. I brought my Subaru BRZ here for a brake fluid flush, oil change, and brake pad replacement (Hawk HP+ pads) right before a track day and everything came off without a hitch, although it did take a little longer than I expected (~2hrs). The guys were knowledgeable and run lots of track days, so they were friendly and chatty. I came back a few months later for another pad swap (this time to Carbotech XP12s), which required rotor resurfacing, as well as a couple of other things (brake fluid flush + speed bleeder install). It took ~3hrs and everything seemed fine, but a few days later as I was driving down the freeway the car started shuddering. I pulled over and got it towed to a dealership, where they informed me that the parking brake had been overtightened during the pad/rotor service and had to be replaced. (That's what was causing the shuddering--the parking brake, even when released, was never actually "off", and eventually overheated/wore away/started causing problems.) 2 days at the dealer and $600 later the problem was solved. Nice guys, but 50/50 results so far. For something as simple as a pad swap and rotor resurface I was hoping for better. Bleeders seem fine and everything else is a-ok, but the brake issue was an expensive bummer. read more

Hey Yelpers in search of a good auto mechanic. If you're in a crunch and your car needs some serious TLC, I'd take your baby to these guys. Ken and Joe, the owners of the place, were very kind, professional, and honest during the whole process. I found myself on Yelp searching for a mechanic in San Mateo (this place is in San Bruno) because as I was driving to work from San Francisco, the dreaded CHECK ENGINE light appeared. First thought was OH SH*T!!!! And all I could imagine was some sniveling little mechanic rubbing his hands together as dollar signs danced around his head as I pulled my car in, but as it turns out that was not the case. Ken took the time to do a thorough inspection, ran their diagnostic tools and diagnosed my little baby. Thank goodness it was nothing serious, but they did manage to take care of me that day. So with that said here are my ratings: Over all customer service: 5 Stars- They were clear, explained what they would be doing, and open to my many questions. Oh and they drove me back to work and offered to pick me up (that was so kind of them, but I did find a ride back). Work: 5 Starts- The car seems to be running smoothly, no more check engine light. Speediness: 5 Starts- Very efficient. Was able to get the car back within the same day. Cost: 4 Stars- The labor was a lot less then what they charge in SF (by about 20-30 dollars less!!!) I found an error on my bill, but decided not to bring it up (it was a difference of $4.55 then the initial estimate) since they were so cool. YEAH AUTO LOGIC... it was logical to take my car there; you should too. read more
