There is a reason this place has a lot of bad reviews. Texted them to get a price on a car where on the website it says to call or text for pricing, they cant even get me a price! Sales person told me the manager will get in contact with me with pricing because he or she did not know. Next day comes around and still nothing. Texted again and got the same answer. At first I really liked this family owned business. When we first arrived, we were greeted with smiles and the customer service seemed fabulous. Fast forward, I've now had my car for a few months and over time I have noticed that more and more things were not disclosed to me regarding my vehicle. Many things are breaking or do not work at all. When I first purchased my car it was summer, so I didn't check my heater, but now that it's winter I have discovered that my heater doesn't work. This also causes issues for effective defrosting. Today was the first day it rained since purchasing my vehicle and, come to find out, my rear windshield wiper also doesn't work. Before I purchased my car, there was a piece on the back that includes my rear camera that fell off and needed to be fixed. They did not replace it with a new piece, instead they glued it back on. I didn't know this until the piece fell off and was hanging by the electrical cords, with the evidence of glue. They also stated that they were going to replace the broken mechanism that adjusts the driver side seat. But that also fell apart a couple weeks after I left the lot. Upon examination of the piece that broke, I discovered how they "fixed" it. They screwed holes into the plastic and used black zip-ties and screws. They even went as far as to camouflage their work by painting the screws black. SMH. This is not how a business should be run! Unfortunately, all of these things have panned out over the last few weeks and months and my 72 hour window to return my car has closed. I am now stuck with the bill to repair all of these things that should've been addressed correctly by them. I really liked my car before it started falling apart and I really wanted to like this dealership, but unfortunately their integrity isn't what it seemed. I take back what I told them and will not be doing business with Auto Max in the future. read more

RUN. DO NOT STOP, unless you like being taken advantage of. I am now discovering my choice of used car dealers on Riverside Avenue was a poor choice. Riverside Avenue in downtown Roseville is a used car dealership haven. There are at least 20 dealerships. USE CAUTION! READ GOOGLE AND YELP REVIEWS, and stay away from the 1 or 2 star dealers - YOU CAN DO BETTER!! I did not take my own advice. Had I read the reviews, I would never have gone there. But the Craigslist ad was believable. I found a dealership with "buy here, pay here" financing. Key points: 1) Pick your own car, do not be told which one you must buy. Take the car for a test drive - sitting on the lot means nothing. Have a friend or someone mechanically inclined come with you to check out the car. 2) If more that six requests for credit approval are sent out, stop it and leave. MORE THAN 20 COMPANIES WERE CONTACTED TO FINANCE ME!!! WAY TOO EXCESSIVE. Now the amount of "hard inquiries" on my credit report is too excessive, and I have to wait about a year to try again to buy a car! Bottom line, I put down a deposit on a vehicle. Next to nothing worked. I had a very large oil stain on my drive way. Not a good sign. I returned the vehicle, and fought to get my deposit back. read more

They are great at making a sale, but not great with follow-up. It took weeks and many calls and texts to finally get the car mats they promised me. They promised to fix a drink holder, seatbelt caddies, and a brake light that stays on, and tighten a parking brake that is useless. But I'd rather go someplace else than waste any more time with them. The oil needed to be changed right after I bought it. I bought the car 8/26/19, and still don't have a registration five months later. At 3 months after the sale, I was pulled over even though I had the temporary tag in the windshield. The police ticketed me for no registration and threatened to impound my car. They told me that if I was caught driving it again, there would be no leniency; the car would be impounded. I went to DMV, and they told me there was nothing they could do because I don't own the car, that I had no rights to it and the dealer would have to take care of it. I have spent more than $1000 for car rentals and Uber. When I asked to be reimbursed, I was ignored. I had to pay to have a new smog done and am still awaiting new plates which I was told by Auto Max's "dmv clerk" would be Fed Ex'd to me yesterday. So I took the day off from work today and waited all day, frequently checking my porch to see if Fed Ex had left an envelope. At the end of the day, I texted their dmv clerk and advised I still had not rec'd the plates. She said she was busy at her other job and would Fed Ex them tomorrow. When I complained that I had waited all day based on what she told me yesterday, she advised me that none of this was her fault and offered to text me a picture of the new registration. I could be wrong, but that probably won't prevent my car from being impounded. Not a chance I can afford to take. Very frustrated and sorry that I supported the small local dealership that seemed to be run by genuinely nice people. And I still, even if I do receive the plates anytime soon, have to take a day off and go to court to try to fight the huge ticket I got. read more

Wasn't satisfied with this dealership because I bought a 06 Cadillac Escalade and it needed alot of work things that a dealership should take care of the oil needed too be changed the air compressor for the suspension does not work all 4 tires are bald oil pressure sending unit needed too be replaced the back up sensors dont work and had the car since December and I have to pay for registration and license already. I showed up here on Sunday about 20 minutes before they close on a jeep I saw online..They gave me a good deal we test drive it all the way to my house n back about a 25 mile trip..so my wife can look at it and approve it...we got back to their dealer sign papers. (hard to find) Not only was the price on point but the cars he has are all carfaxed and clean title. Very hard to find on Riverside.. a lot of sketchy dealer so watch out.Tony tho is one of the good ones, a very honest guy who isn't there to screw you over.. after purchasing a car he held to his word of a 3month warranty which is rare for these type of lots. They seem so nice in the beginning and I was really happy leaving the lot. However as soon as I drove off with my car they were done with me. When I bought the cat they promised to buff out all of the scratches and get rid of the airbag and tire lights that were on when I bought the car. However every single time I have called they are "too busy" or the person I need to talk to isn't there. Then come to find out the NEVER turned in the papers to the DMV!!! I bought the car in the first week of November. It took multiple calls of being put on hold and hung up on until they FINALLY sent it to the DMV in late January. As well as when I bought the car they said they were getting the license plates in a few days and they would mail them to me. Still has NEVER happened. I only have one plate, registered for 2019 so I can't drive my car really because of it, and I can't register or get new plates because the dmv has no recollection of the transaction. Overall truly horrible follow up services. I feel completely ripped off which truly sucks because I was really happy with the them till I left their lot. NEVER trust them to call you back. They never have, even though they claim they did, they will convince you that they will but they won't until you give up trying because you realize how badly they ripped you off. There's a dozen dealerships on the street so save yourself the hassle and go elsewhere read more

NEVER buy a car here. Promised that the car was in great condition engine wise. After making the first car payment our thermostat had to be replaced, air flow sensors were broken, things were taped inside the engine, and after numerous attempts of trying to get a hold of him we were continuously ignored. He also told us we were forced to purchase GAP ins from the lender. Absolute lie. Lenders can't force you to buy GAP ins. He just wanted to make money off the backend of the deal. He screwed my 19 yo daughter just recently. Giving her pennies to what her car was worth for a trade in, put her in a POS BMW that broke down 2 times in ONE MONTH.. Starter and vacuum hose, parts alone over $600. He also put her in a car with a car payment of $400 a month with 24% interest rate.. She could not pay the loan and her car got repo'd. $19,000 gone and the only one who make out was... You guess it... Tony. When I called to see about him making it right. I was told my daughter made her choices, and he wasn't going to do a thing. Now, I will picket outside his business when the weather is warm and people are looking to buy. .. When I bought from Automax I was stripped of all peace of mind. They will lie and they will thieve, for an honest customer there is no reprieve. They may laugh and smile, but their word is worth a pile. If quality, integrity, and honesty are what you are looking for, pass this lot and you will likely find much more. I cannot recommend another dealer, but Tony at Automax is definitely a stealer. He will not follow through and makes promises he will not keep, because for him a lie makes him lose no sleep. well lets see where should i start um at the end of January i bought a Subaru outback 2005. i love the car. i mainly got it to upgrade my car. since i have a young son with my hubby and to commute to work and back and run errands. but the first week my hubby and our mechanic notice there was a oil leak. so my hubby called tony. tony said we had the warranty papers to call the warranty to get it fixed. we have no record of any such papers.... so a month in half goes by and no the transmission acts up its hard to shift along with the oil leak. my mechanic says over 1000 to fix it but cant afford it with car payment so high. we call tony again he gives us the warranty number. we call them they say there no record of a warranty on my car. we then call tony back all he has is excuse said let him see if he get a mechanic to fix my car. but cant find one. which is odd since its a car dealership there should be one. then he said ill take the car back and let me get a Toyota. but after i put 3,800 down on the Subaru he wanted another 2000 down. we told him we don't have that kind of money laying around. he wasn't willing to work with us. wish he would make things right. all he wants is money money money greed a deadly sin STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM HERE. that is why i have no choice to turn my car in as a trade so the new dealer can pay it off so i can get a drive able car. cos i have had my family help me out in driving me to work since it is mine my hubby only transportation. if i didn't have my family to help me ill be out of a job. so go else were i will tell everyone i work with so and all my customers. that this place is crap. read more
