My honest experience with AutoNation Plano: From the beginning to now, it has been a complete roller coaster. I went from feeling like a valued customer to feeling completely dismissed. This is my personal experience, but I believe in accountability. I purchased a 2018 F150 Platinum from this location in June 2025. My initial interaction with Josh was disappointing, but Luis, the general manager, worked hard to make the deal happen and gave me a solid value on my trade-in. At that point, I genuinely felt taken care of. But immediately after taking the truck home, problems surfaced that their inspection clearly missed. Both the oil pan and rear differential were leaking. I returned under the 90-day warranty. The differential was fixed, but the oil pan leak continued and got worse. Every time I tried to bring it back, I was told: "Service is slammed. We have over 100 vehicles ahead of you. Try again next week." This went on for weeks. Then the title and registration issues began. For 3 months, I never received my plates. Every time I asked, I heard: "These things take time. We'll call you back." No one ever called back. Eventually I contacted the DMV myself and discovered the vehicle wasn't even titled or registered in my name -- it had been transferred to the previous owner months after I bought it. Only after the State, my lender, and corporate got involved did AutoNation finally fix the issue. 3,000 miles after purchase, the transmission failed completely. I had the truck towed to AutoNation Plano, confident the Gold Warranty would help. Instead, I've been left completely in the dark. A full week with no updates, no diagnosis, no call back, and no help with a loaner or rental. Every attempt to reach someone has gone nowhere. I've been without a vehicle for days while still obligated on a $32,000+ loan -- and have felt stranded and ignored by the entire service department. In my experience, this dealership is not transparent, does not communicate, and does not stand behind their customers once the sale is complete. The service is awful now I used them a couple of years back and I was elated with the service.. I recently called them and they said there was nothing wrong with the car except a dead battery.. Charged me 225.00 for absolutely nothing no labor I doubt they really looked for the issue my neighbor came through and jumped the car. I was charged for a diagnostic with no response or service. I live in Fort Worth, looked online and saw the exact car I wanted at autonation in Plano. I decided to uber there and test drive it to most likely buy it today. I called ahead to make sure the car was still there and they said yeah it is here come on down at 3. I pay for a 50$ uber and 50 minutes later arrive at the autonation. When I meet the salesman he says oh no sorry the car was sold last night. Sometimes our system takes a couple days to update... now here I am stuck in Plano having to pay for another long uber because of their incompetence. read more

I went to AutoNation Plano prepared to buy a car and expecting a straightforward, fair negotiation. That's not how it played out. The vehicle in question was a 10-year-old Lexus ES 350 with around 70k miles. I had financing ready and paid for a professional pre-purchase inspection (PPI) on 1/5/2026, so there would be no guessing on either side. During the inspection, my mechanic found a knocking sound during slow acceleration. I immediately brought this to the dealership's attention. To be fair, the dealership did verify the issue and fixed it, which turned out to be loose screws that weren't fully tightened. What bothered me wasn't the fix it was that the repair was never reflected in the negotiation or pricing. The issue was only caught because I paid for an independent inspection. Without that, the next buyer would likely have taken delivery with the problem still unresolved. I worked mainly with Willis and Ismael. They were present throughout the process, but the negotiation itself felt rigid and one-sided. I spent nearly three hours at the dealership, fully expecting to complete a deal. We never did. I was repeatedly told that the numbers I was asking for were "unrealistic," that "they don't drop prices," and that "someone else will buy the car." At one point, I was told the dealership bought the Lexus for around $16,000, which may or may not be accurate, but it was used to shut down reasonable, inspection-backed discussion. For clarity: Advertised price: $19,991 Price after fees: nearly $23,000 Lowest number reached: $21,369 Even at that level, the numbers didn't make sense given the age of the vehicle, the inspection findings, and the amount of added fees. I was also significantly lowballed on my trade-in, a 2022 Mazda CX-30 with only 34k miles. On top of that, I was told several fees tied to the trade were fixed and non-removable: Two $750 dealership fees (only one could be removed) $695 inspection/detail fee $500 paint fee I respect the Lexus brand, but I value fairness and transparency more. A deal shouldn't rely on pressure tactics or the idea that "everyone gets the same bad deal." I'm sharing this so others go in informed. Do your research, get an independent inspection, and don't be afraid to walk away if the numbers don't add up mentally or financially. Sometimes walking away is the right decision. read more

Would never consider dealing with them again. We have purchased numerous vehicles and have never had a more unprofessional and dishonest experience. Read every line and NEVER trust anything verbally committed to by the financing people. They rushed with electronic signatures that didn't match the verbal agreements made. This was unnoticed by us- very small electronic print and quick process. Our ignorance trusting the rep and for not reading it carefully. Didn't even receive electronic copy to review for 2 weeks. When reviewed we noticed it was completely different than what was verbalized. The XC90 I inquired about was advertised at $21,593. When I asked for a written breakdown, I was quoted $22,424 before tax, TTL, or any add-ons -- an unexplained $831 increase in the base price. When I asked why the advertised price changed, I was told it "automatically changed," but no one could provide documentation or a clear explanation. Texas OCCC advertising guidelines require the advertised price to be the actual selling price unless clearly disclosed otherwise, which was not done here. I was also told I had to purchase a $749 appearance package I did not want. While it was disclosed, I was told directly that the vehicle would not be sold to me unless I agreed to pay for it -- meaning the add-on was not optional. I requested multiple times that the vehicle be taken to a Volvo dealership for inspection, which was initially agreed upon by AutoNation. However, when I pressed to move forward, I was told to "hire someone" to take it to Volvo. To make matters worse, I hired AAA to tow the vehicle to Volvo, only to have AAA chased away when they arrived to tow the vehicle, despite the prior agreement to take it to Volvo. I explicitly stated multiple times that I believed there was an issue with the battery and asked for it to be checked. Despite this, the yellow warning light that was clearly visible was never mentioned by their team. Furthermore, a General Manager at AutoNation Plano told me there was no yellow light illuminated, which directly contradicts the diagnostic report from Volvo, showing that the light had been on repeatedly. On December 22, at approximately 4:30 PM, I spoke with a sales manager after discussing the matter with AutoNation USA Plano management for approximately 30 minutes. The sales manager went to the back to speak with management for an additional 30 minutes. When he returned, he told me there was "nothing wrong with the car," that it met AutoNation's standards, and that the matter was "case closed." I was told to "sign the paperwork or we have nothing left to talk about." When I demanded my money back, I was told I would receive it in one to two weeks and specifically, "you will not get it today." Due to the escalation, I contacted the police to be available if needed. I was tipped off by another member of management from a different AutoNation location who inadvertently warned me that there was something wrong with the battery. When I asked if I could purchase the car from him and his location instead, he refused. Now I know why -- he was aware of the issue, but it was never disclosed upfront to me. Instead, the issue was never even brought up when I specifically stated that I knew there was something wrong with the battery. I assumed it was the hybrid battery and mentioned that multiple times. Furthermore, the General Manager at AutoNation Plano stated that there was no yellow light illuminated on the car, despite me clearly pointing out that there was an issue with the battery. This directly contradicts the diagnostic report from Volvo, which showed that a yellow warning light had been present repeatedly, yet it was never mentioned to me. On top of that, another General Manager from a different AutoNation location was also aware of the issue. This means that two different General Managers dismissed this issue -- one at AutoNation Plano and one from a separate location. I was told on numerous occasions that the vehicle could be dropped off at Volvo for inspection. However, I had to press hard to get this done, and even then, I was told to "hire someone" to take it to Volvo, which I did. Daughter broke down on highway Christmas Eve in middle of nowhere all lights on dash coming on. Turned out there was a hole in transmission that seemed to be patched, cv axle boot torn, cracked ball joints to name a few. ABSOLUTE JOKE OF A DEALERSHIP!!!! NOT SURE HOW THESE FOLKS SLEEP AT NIGHT. Working with this place has been a horribly stressful exchange. The sales rep kept flip flopping and giving me mixed up information and then the finance department was just as bad. I simply wanted to buy a vehicle. I was approved for financing by multiple lenders. But these folks can't get my numbers right. The sales rep says one thing and then finance says another. They're real quick to text you you're approved, but when you try to get a clear picture of the deal it goes bad. The sales rep told to me per the text is $253/ month for 3 years. Beware!! I bought a used car here 3 days ago. They gave me a one key that doesn't work 100%. All smart features are disabled and mechanical key doesn't open doors, glove or trunk. DO NOT BUY HERE! If I could give a negative star rating I would because this was the worst car buying experience of my life! Sales person misrepresented that the van would be detailed. In fact, it was filthy on delivery! Sales person misrepresented that oil would be changed prior to delivery. It wasn't! But here's the scary part: They use a contract delivery service. These people backed the van into a grass embankment and damaged the rear bumper. The dealer sales manager tried to weasel out of accepting resposibility for the damage. We had 3 different salesmen trying to help us and no one knew what was going on. They changed the interest rate 4 times in one day! I was there 7 1/2 hours and at the end they really tried to screw us over. They put extra charges on every car out of nowhere for things you never asked for. They try to force you to accept these things as part of the deal. I would give negative stars if it allowed it. One of your managers, Israel went ABOVE and BEYOND to get us in the right car and make sure we were happy. We came in looking for a replacement vehicle for my son who totaled his car. We were originally looking at a different vehicle and he was able to put us into a better fit for my son going back to college. We struggled through the finance process and almost left the dealership but he was able to step in and make the numbers work. Finally, my mechanic found a small issue with the car within the 5 day buyback and he took care of the issue without hesitation. He gave is 5 STAR Service. I purchased a Nissan Rogue on August 21, 2025 and the following day of Aug 22nd I called the Sales man Jose Blanco to ask if I can bring the vehicle back because I was hearing a sound in the steering. However I never heard back. I purchased the truck for my daughter whom was heading back to college and therefore I didn't need any problems from the vehicle not even a sound.The salesperson whom sold me the car never contacted me again nor answered any text or calls. Just as i thought I got a call from my daughter September 5th saying the check engine light is on. I called the dealership immediately and asked to speak to the used car manager. I was told after being put on hold 3 different times that today is a busy day for us and to leave my information for a call back. That was Saturday September 6th today is the 9th. I'm not sure what's the communication problem all of a sudden. Before purchasing the truck I received a text and call from Mr. Blanco everyday for a week. What happened to that energy. i usually don't write reviews that are bad. but i had to write one about auto nation in plano and my bad experience with them. along with their bad customer service and how they treated me. i was looking a car and got in touch with auto nation. i found them online and since they were a actual legit dealership (so i thought) i reached out tp them and received a text quickly about them assigning me to a sales person. fernando, was his name. he asked me what i was looking for, what kind of car im looking for, how much down payment, u know standard questions. i got right to the point and told him what i was looking for, how much money i can put down, i let him know my credit was not that good and that i wanted him to give me what options i had and i did not want to spend all day at the dealership. i was very adament about me not spending hours at the dealership and i wanted to make sure i am approved before i came in there. i kept repeating those things. he then said he could find me a car, that he had some options, and that the approval process should be pretty quick and that i will not spend hours there. ii said are you sure, he said yes we will run ypur application see what you get approved and get you in a car. i asked him are you sure you can find me a car. he said yes we can find you a car for sure dont worry. fernando started off very attentive. he would text me follow up with me , asked me if i had any questions, and then when i went into the dealership, he asked me if i like anything to drink before we got started. he was very nice, attentive, great customer at first. provided good customer service, now befre i went in there told hom i did not want to be in there all night, he said no itwont take all night, imsaid ok. of course i was in there for 5 hours , ridiculous, but i waited and he got me approved for a car. now i gave them the deposit and drove the car off the lot, . there was a long crack in the windshield they didnt tell me about but ok . now i didnt even have the car 3 days before the engine light came on. i immediately call fernando and he said no problem it is still covered bring it in and it will be covered. i said ok great. i brough t the car there and they gave me a loaner. me thinking the car wouldnt be that long, he said they were a little backed up and to be patient nd they will get to me . i said no problem. they ended up have my car for over 2 weeks!!!!
