I never write reviews. It takes either an intensely good or bad experience to motivate me to take the effort to write about it. But I had such an outstanding experience with this mechanic, I felt so compelled to write this review on google/yelp. I brought my car in recently for a regular maintenance check. I met Orlando, who looked the car over, and told me what I'd likely need done. Then, he spotted a huge dent on my car that I'd had for years. Without me even asking, he got a suction and popped it out for me for free!! Btw, I've had this dent for years and brought it to 5-6 auto shops throughout NYC and Chicago that all quoted me $700. But Orlando was honest and real with me, and said if I was driving in the city, there's no reason for such an expensive fix. Orlando is SO honest, fair, and thoughtful (for example, because my car is under certain mileage, he used company-specific parts in case my car is under warranty and I need to take it to the dealer in the future). If fixing the dent was any indication, he really just wants to help fix your car without upcharging. And he's quick, knowledgeable, and skilled. As someone who knows very little about cars, I always wondered how mechanics learn the large body of knowledge to fix all the different kinds of cars (like my 2019 Honda seems more computer than car sometimes), and it's clear that he's well experienced and read. Which really can't be said about everyone! Also, Orlando took the time to educate me about the interval of time to replace things, what I needed to look for, and even how to sand down/paint over my residual dent. I never even asked him to do all of this. He just makes the extra effort and clearly cares about his customers. I've NEVER had such a good experience with a mechanic! Orlando is the most honest and considerate mechanic around with very fair pricing; good mechanics are hard to find and the South Loop/Pilsen neighborhood has found it. My very low mileage Buick was having some accelerating and idling items (along with the Check Engine light sporadically coming on), and when I went to the Buick Dealer, they originally wanted me to leave my car at the dealership for a "few days" to "fully diagnosis" it. Long story short, the dealer is the last place I want to leave my perfectly, otherwise, running car. We went to Orlando (since we have used him previously on another car) and he ran the error codes on my car instantly. My error code was a very "generic" error code at the time that is often hard to diagnose. Orlando did his troubleshooting, and while he couldn't get another official error read, he pinpointed the error to what he believed to be one of my cylinders misfiring. Since my car had such low mileage he advised us to go back to the dealer to just ensure that nothing was still under warranty (sometimes certain parts have longer warranties than the overall car) - he's super CONSIDERATE! He also told us to check Buick forums to see if there is a common cause of this "generic" code issue. We ended up scheduling a dealership service appt, and the dealer was not able to find anything wrong. They reset my check engine light and told me to go on with my life. I was SUPER frustrated, because something was definitely wrong with the car. A week later, I am on the highway and the check engine light comes back on, with very rough idling on the highway. We immediately go to Autozone to run our error codes to see if we can get something concrete, and we finally had a formal code pop up pinpointing to the cylinder that Orlando originally guessed it would be. We picked up the parts (ignition coil and spark plugs) and Orlando was able to replace within the day. Our car is running like NEW and I truly couldn't be happier. Orlando diagnosed AND FIXED my car's issue in less time than than the dealer took with their useless diagnosis. Thank you so much Orlando! You will continue to be our go-to. read more

Orlando is the best! My car wouldn't start over labor day weekend. I had a family member tell me that I needed a new alternator and i believed it. VW also told me that i needed a new alternator. Orlando took a look and told me that all i needed was a new battery!! He easily could have jumped on the bandwagon and installed a new alternator, but he didn't do that. After all, two separate people told me that I needed a new alternator and I didn't know the difference. Orlando is a very honest man and I can't recommend him enough.
