My husband made several attempts for 1 week to get information on a Porsche they had for sale and every time the response would be automatic never a call same response every attempt. We tried to call and after several attempts we got ahold of Edwardo our sales agent set up an appt the same day test drove the car around 4 pm said we were very interested but wanted a mechanic to check it out before the purchase he agreed and said he could drive it to our mechanic of choice the next morning. My husband said he would call him by 10 am and give him info on mechanic when he called next morning he was told the car was sold by another sales person that evening. Purchased my 2016 Explorer from them on December 29TH. Service was great that day, however less then a week later the car started making a noise when turning the steering wheel and a loud rumble was coming from the front end of the car. I called them to report what was going on. They had me take my car to their service department come to find out the LoJack was installed incorrectly and some belt needed to be replaced. Fast forward to January 22 I'm driving home from work and the whole front end panel flies off, ripping off weather stripping and scratching my passenger window. I called them right after the incident happened and was told I needed to contact their Fullerton service department. I proceeded to call on Saturday and they didn't answer. I called again on Sunday only to find out it was closed so I left a voicemail. Come Monday I still haven't heard back from anyone so I call Fullerton again. Sales department finally answered and they told me that the manager from AR Orange was supposed to call them to make the appointment for me because they couldn't directly give me an appointment. I call the Orange location back and spoke Art. I let them know again about my situation and he told me that I would have to speak to Ram but since Ram was busy he would call me back within 15-20 minutes. I never got a call back on Monday. I called back again Tuesday afternoon and spoke with Eddie who told had me message him pictures of my car and again was told that I would receive a call back.. again I never did. It is now Wednesday morning and I call the Orange office to finally speak with Ram. I informed him about my situation and after all this wait I was told that the panel is considered cosmetic so that their service department cannot fix it, best thing they can possibly do is find me the part at a lower price. It has been less than a month since I purchased this vehicle and it's been nothing but problems. Why should I have pay out of pocket for something that is out of my control? UPDATE: It is now February 6th and have yet to hear from anyone. last I spoke with someone which was 10 days ago I was told they would call me back that same day to provide me with a price quote for the part that needs to be replaced. read more

I recently bought a Transit 250 from Auto Republic and the service I received was great. The van I purchased was sold as is no warranty. However, after buying the van and driving it fully loaded the van steering wheel was shaking after breaking hard on the freeway. I called Fernando and he immediately said to bring it in. They inspected it and found the break rotors to be worn, with no hesitation they replaced the four rotors and all the break pads. Remember the van was sold as is!! read more

Yesterday I bought a Subaru from Auto Republic and had the best experience. I called a few moments before I left my house to see if they had the car in stock, it took roughly an hour and 20 mins to get there. When I arrived they greeted me by name and had the car pulled around within 2 minutes of getting out of my car. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. After my drive and inspection I asked if they could help me with getting the car to LA since I'm new here and didn't have a way to get both cars back home. After signing paperwork I drove home and they sent me an Uber to return and pickup my new car. Overall the fastest, friendliest and stress free car buying purchase I've had so far. At first glance, this place seems really high end because they have nice newer cars with modifications. The guys who worked there seemed very nice and open and seemed like they are all very close. They're definitely in tune with aesthetics more than mechanics in my experience. We went to see a Honda S2000 and something with the clutch broke while on the test drive. In the process of me driving it it wouldn't go into gear, traffic was upset and flying around me - I was apologizing to the salesman who was with me because thought that maybe I didn't know how to drive this specific car. When my mom test drove it, it fully broke and they had to push it into the dealership. They said it worked the week prior and must have just broke since. It's an old car and that makes sense. It also had a weird steering wheel issue where there was play in it. They didn't fix that, but they did spend extra money on their end to paint the wheels to make it LOOK nice that you had to pay for in the price. The interesting part was when they were going to take a week to repair the car while we were still interested. The car never made it back on the website to be for sale. We checked every few days, it never popped up again. When we were leaving after that fiasco hoping they'd fix the issues and we'd come back to buy it, there was an older guy who worked there who stopped us to mansplain about how it's a good car and about the high value and lack of depreciation for the car. We generally buy cars that don't depreciate and even buy cars that appreciate, so that was very annoying and funny to listen to. We test drove a Type R, the suspension was doing very odd rubbing which you can hear and feel, it was lowered. They said it was going to sell fast, but it's been on over a month since we've been there and the price was reduced. I think their prices are very high in general. I was there while someone was trying to purchase a 4x4 (or had already purchased it) and they were very upset because the previous owner hooked up external lights that removed the function of the high beams. The salesman too was visibly disappointed that they didn't work and he wasn't aware that it didn't work. Overall the cars look very nice, we didn't see any actual engine issues on our drives, but the cars are not without their flaws. read more

Worst selling tactics I've seen by far, and knowingly was sold a vehicle with a bad battery

Came as a potential buyer of a 2012 FJ Cruiser. Vehicle was listed at 35,000 dollars. When it came to test driving and checking out the vehicle, it had all kinds of issues. The salesman said they had to jump the vehicle to get it started prior to me reviewing it. The tire light was on, the exterior and interior were dirty, and it had cobwebs all over the tires/bumper. The attached snorkel had screws missing and the salesman was unsure how long it had been sitting in the lot. And to top it off, the vehicle died/stalled during my test drive. The salesman was stern about selling the vehicle "as is". Definitely not worth the price they're asking. Disappointed due to the potential and lack of care/maintenance for the vehicle. All sorts of red flags before talking numbers. read more

Do not buy with Art. Buyer beware. That guy is so nice and fair until things aren't going his way. He literally yelled at me saying I've been here since 8:30am!!! Excuse me??? How's your work schedule my problem??? Crazy salesman... They ran my credit, I qualified and we were ready to make the deal. They told me I can let my ride go home since the deal was going to happen knowing I didn't have any cash on hand. After my ride left they insisted I give them cash for a down payment when it was past 9pm. I offered to pay some in credit card and the rest in check but they continued to give me a hard time about wanting cash down or credit card. They said it's because they don't trust people or checks. Why are they in the car business if they don't trust people? I have amazing credit and was a no risk kind of buyer i was so confused. I told them well now I need a ride and my ride is 50 miles away. Art the sales guy said, "get your own ride I'm done" and left! Mind you he supposedly lived in my neighborhood according to him while he was trying to earn my business. I was left in the facility with the assistant manager who was a total jerk from the start rolling his eyes while my kids were with me when I first arrived. After Art left this assistant manager guy decided to call the police while I was waiting for my ride to pick me up at 11:30pm at night. The police arrived and told me I would have to wait outside. So they had a reasonably priced convertible version of a sports car I've been in the market for. I've done extensive research so I'm aware of the going rate for this vehicle and I'm fully willing to pay the advertised price. So I walk onto the lot, I ask one of the reps if he can point me in the direction of the car I'm looking for he's very helpful and immediately takes me to it. The cars in pretty good condition, looks as advertised everything seems to be checking out. So I ask for a test drive. The guy tells me in order to test drive they need to run my credit... this should have been the first red flag. So I tell him that's not a thing and i hope he's asking all his customers for credit checks before a test drive (I know he doesn't because no one would buy a car here if that were the case) I told him I'm happy to show him my drivers license, my active insurance policy if needed, I also informed him that this "high end car" as he described it, while nice, was worth less than half of what I drove to the dealership in. I have excellent credit, I can afford the car and I hope that I'm not being profiled. He goes inside and checks with the "manager" who comes out and says it's not a problem I can do the test drive he just has to come with me. I say no problem and we go on the test drive. The car drives pretty solid i come back inspect the car one last time and I'm ready to make a deal. Again, I'm fully willing to pay the advertised price, didn't ask for a discount just what the out the door price is after tax, licensing etc. Of course when the rep comes back it's nearly $6k more than advertised (taxes were 10+%, which fine it's LA i knew that) but there's about $2k+ in charges for LoJack ($900) this isn't 2001, and that's why we have insurance, but here you don't have a choice they say it's "included" in all their vehicles. Then they have an additional $895 charge for powder coated wheels. Again a treatment/option that no one asked for, yet they "require" you to get. Am I supposed to buy the car separate from the wheels?! They didnt even have an option without it. Long story short, they advertise prices to get you in the door but then beat you over the head with "options" that aren't optional to bring the price back up. I would have respected them more if they just put those things into the price of the vehicle, then we as consumers can decide if it's a worthwhile deal or not. Its pretty poor business practice and the reason why people don't enjoy shopping at used car dealerships. This perpetuates the stereotypes. They would have had a deal had the price been as advertised. But I'm sure they sold it to some sucker who they told it's only another "$10 per month over 72 months..." lol Just be cautious when going to places like this. The only reason I didn't give 1 star is because the guy I did the test drive with was actually a good guy and had decent service, it's just unfortunate "the manager" wasn't willing to sell the car at the advertised price. read more

I did have them upgrade the interior to leather, new wheels and tires as well as an upgraded bumper. Having a custom shop in house is really nice if you need to roll it into the financing. I was able to find this one on offer up lol. We drove the next morning to the dealership... what did we have to lose? Once she saw it we new this was the one... BUT first we had to negotiate the price lol. I must say this was the fun part and the reason being EDDIE the finance manager was very understanding and helpful. He and his staff never pressured us at all. We left the dealership without the car. We informed Eddie that we had to think about it after all it's a BIG decision that we were about to take.
