Try to keep this from getting TLDR. I guess the short story is this place did great work…read more I bought a used car years ago, it had a "performance" muffler on it. After putting up with the loud exhaust for a couple years, I was done. I went to a place that was closer to me at the time, and they put a stock muffler on it. Still had a little rumble, but told not much to do about it. Job well done, or so I thought. Few years later, I start noticing a rattle on startup. It's not bad, it goes away after warm up. I carry on. Few months ago, it gets worse, still goes away, but I think I might have a transmission issue. Friend of mine I'm telling about it said he had the same thing once and he had a broken bracket on his exhaust system. I get under and see this mess. Cracked welds, pipe separated from the muffler. Also, they didn't install a mounting support above the pipe, probably one of the reasons it broke. Well, not going back to that place. I did a little research, and Big Johns looked like the best place. Little out of my way, but I wanted to make sure this time things went better. I believe John was there when I arrived, and had another guy who worked with him. I mentioned the whole problem, plus said it was still a little loud. He suggested a slightly bigger muffler, plus he installed a bracket support where the other place hadn't, and also redid the other two supports that were in place. The new supports were obviously more heavy duty. It did the trick. Also, I noticed my car was running better and a couple of issues had gone away. Car is now running like it did before all this started, and it's the quietest it's ever been. Charged me $200 and it was well worth it. At this point, I'm pretty happy. Be aware that when I was there, they only work on one car at a time. I don't know if he utilizes the other garage bay, but they work fast. It took maybe 30 minutes or so to do the job.

From the sale to the installation, Ross exceeded my expectations. He provided a detailed proposal that beat competitor quotes, yet the lower price was not offset by a cutback in quality or service. Ross took the care to be on site for the installation to ensure that everything was done as promised. His team worked diligently and professionally despite excruciating summer heat. They were always prompt and left my home neat. There was a delay because of the complexity of the bifold doors, but it was worth the wait. Also, there was a mix-up with the colors, but Holdfast kindly offered a discount, and I was happy with the end result. The quality of the Crimsafe screens is excellent. Had to call Roadside Assistance to jump it so I could get to O'Reilly's Auto Parts for a new battery before they closed. They said it was the alternator not the battery. Contacted DFW Mobile Repair and Hamm responded immediately with a price quote to fix it. Set up the appointment for mid-afternoon the next day, July 5th (Sunday, on a holiday weekend). Hamm was certainly knowledgeable, and after testing, said it was BOTH the battery and alternator. He replaced the alternator (which he had brought, having had my prior information as to car and model) and then drove to O'Reilly's nearby for a replacement battery which he then installed. In short, Hamm was responsive, capable, courteous and efficient. DFW saved the day (although I lost most of the holiday weekend with the problem!). Pricing wasn't cheap but was competitive I'd say. Give DFW a shot. Their customer service and mechanical work was outstanding. They also have a shop in addition to their mobile repair service. I will certainly consider them for all my future work! Let's just say it turned out much worse than when I started. The paint looked dull, cloudy, and nothing like I had hoped. After realizing I was in over my head, I reached out to Frank on Facebook just to get a few estimates. Within minutes, Frank called me, asked about the truck, and even came to my house to look at it in person. He took the time to explain exactly what went wrong, what it would take to fix it, and what I could realistically expect. He never tried to oversell me or pressure me. His honesty, professionalism, and genuine customer service are what earned my business that same day. What impressed me even more was that once he started repairing my DIY mistake, he discovered it required more work than he originally expected. Even so, he honored the original quote without hesitation. That kind of integrity is hard to find these days. I got my truck back the very same day, and I honestly couldn't be happier. The blue paint is a perfect match, the finish is deep and glossy, and you can't tell where the repair ends and the original paint begins. It looks factory new.
