I brought my car into auto solutions for a second opinion/diagnosis of a problem. I had brought my car into another shop previously and they were not able to understand the problem. Auto solutions had the car for about a half a day and were successful in understanding the issue and providing a diagnosis. I later took my car back to my original repair shop and they were able to take the diagnosis from auto solutions and remedy the situation. Had my Nissan 2005 Pathfinder brought in for an engine light that kept coming on. Was told that it would need both catalytic converters at $2200. Wowsers! That's a lot of mulla. Anyway months later I decided to pull the trigger and Amanda was honest enough to say that price went up by couple of hundred bucks due to what dealers are charging this year (CARB racket). I found Auto Solutions here on Yelp while helping my sister find a new place to take her SUV for an oil change, the people she usually uses has gone out of business. She wanted to give Auto Solutions a try because of the reviews, location and because the owners name is Scott. Long story short we have a brother who is an auto technician and his name is Scott. So, she went for an oil change and then back for a timing belt and other services. I happen to live in Windsor which is about an hour north of San Francisco, when it was time to have my timing belt done in my 01 Toyota 4Runner I decided to also take my truck to Auto Solutions. Scott and his team were so helpful and the prices are competitive, they truly treat you great and they work with your schedule as well. My husbands truck is almost due for a timing belt and I bet you can guess where we will be taking it... I have even gotten an estimate for some work my daughter needs done on her truck and we will be down in a few months to get it done... Great Job and Great People! :-) read more

Not sure where all the 5-star reviews came from on here but I did not have a good experience. I have a $1500 Toyota that won't pass smog. They did their diagnostics and determined I needed to replace the Evap canister. They quoted me $375 on the canister + $100 labor + tax = ~$500. Mind you, they only install parts that they buy. I called Autozone and they quoted me $75 less; finally went online and got the canister for $170. From $375 to $170 for a part, and my car is worth $1500 - you get the idea. I replaced the thing myself; well guess what, car still won't pass smog. Finally, I pulled a hail mary and replaced the fuel pump. Bingo! car passed smog! So I wonder how much more money would I have to fuel into these 5-star "experts" pockets until my car would pass smog? Advice from me: when a shop tells you they only install parts they buy that's when you need to pack up and find another shop. read more

I had a problem with the window not rolling up on my 2008 Volkswagen Beetle. I got a quote from Scott that I initially thought was sort of high for a window part. That is until I took it somewhere else where they quoted me double for the same part and wanted to charge a $200 diagnostic fee to confirm that it was indeed the problem. Apparently the door has to be taken apart which is complicated and takes a lot of time. I believe because you practically have to disassemble the entire car in order to change a headlight on the darn vehicle. I'm only exaggerating a tiny, tiny bit when I say that. That was when I realized that Scott had already done the diagnostics and didn't charge me anything for it. The quote he gave me for the part was more than fair. I took my car right back there and promised myself I would write a good review for them. I sort of forgot to do that until now. I just picked up my car again from Auto Solutions. My car overheated on the freeway and the engine was shot. Scott put in a used engine for me with quite a lot less miles on it than my old engine and at such a great price. This is an honest auto repair shop and an excellent one. My husband and I are so so happy we found it. We won't take our vehicles anywhere else. This place is a gem both inside and out. These guys are awesome!!! After having a poor experience at Goodyear, I came here after some research and recomendations. After talking to the friendly staff, they let me know their rates were higher than Goodyear, but would price match the cost of repairs. Not only did they fix what needed to be done, they were able to save me $100.00 from the other shop was wanting to charge me. Apparently Goodyear likes to charge you for unnecessary work. I have relied on Scott and his crew for many years now. They take care of my wife's Chevy truck and my sons trucks (I drive a company truck). Scott even sold my one of my son's, a truck - he was honest and upfront with the potential issues (it was a used truck). Everything Scott told us about this truck has in fact been true... small issues and we have taken care of everything. Scott and his crew are honest. Can't say enough about how important this is to our family. I trust Scott and know that if I take my wife's truck to him, he understands how important this is to me. I don't want my wife getting stuck ANYWHERE. I believe Scott takes this very serious and I can't thank him enough, that we have not had any issues "unforeseen". I can't say enough about Auto Solutions. If I trust him with my wife's truck, you can as well. They are not cheap but they are not over-priced either. Let me first focus on the positive about this shop. It is clean, professional, the receptionist is friendly. Unfortunately, I will not be returning and here is why, I keep my vehicles spotless and hand wash them all myself weekly. When I picked up my vehicle (an SUV) it had seven round dents (dings) on the hood. When I placed my fingers on the dents, it matched a hand pattern of someone who had shut the hood and then pushed down with his hands (finger tips) in an effort to latch it all the way. I had to pay $$$$ and have all the dings removed and glue tabbed as a result of rookie 101 mistake. Also, they really are an "universal" type mechanic which is not bad, but they will recommend a standard or universal method of service and maintenance on your vehicle as opposed to YOUR vehicles specific needs. Not a bad shop and I feel they can do the work, but I can't afford to remove dings every time when they should have known better. read more
