Dennis is super sweet and a great worker. I had a nasty hit and run a couple months ago that he did a great job on. At some point after I reported the accident a crack appeared in my windshield that was obviously caused by the accident (crept up from the source) but insurance wouldn't cover it bc it wasn't in the initial report. Dennis gave me a great deal to help me cover the cost. I was rear ended not long after and he fixed the car while I was out of the country and had it ready promptly when I returned! Over the years, I've gotten my car into all sorts of trouble, and I've brought it to several different body shops. Auto Body Spa is, by far, the best body shop I've ever been to. Dennis simply goes above and beyond, is thoroughly honest, and has a great deal of integrity. His prices are very fair, and even low for the quality of work. He handled every aspect of my recent accident, including interfacing with insurance and suggesting routine mechanical improvements that were way overdue, but he was never pushy. He even pointed out that one problem with my car was covered by manufacturer's warranty, and suggested that I bring it to the dealer to fix it (the dealer is fixing it for free; before speaking to Dennis I would have paid someone to fix it). The quality of work is very high - when I got the car back it looked better than it's looked since I bought it 10 years ago. It really was like my car went to the spa. Sideswiped my boyfriend's car (and after swearing up and down, knowing it was totally my fault and both panels were beyond damaged on the passenger side) I realized that Autobody Spa would save the day. The owner is so honest, reliable and nice. I've known him for years and trust this guy. Insurance required that I get 3 quotes and his was the best out of 3 (a competitor's was more than double!) and before I could get it fixed... There I go again. A dog ran out in front of traffic on the Embarcadero, the owner ran after it, the SUV in front of me slammed on the brakes and BOOM! I crashed my boyfriend's car again. Not racking up points in the relationship department... Soooo, after realizing this would be thousands of dollars worth of damage, I went back to Autobody Spa and was reassured by the owner that he'd give me a good deal. He did. Hey, the guy is a business owner and can't give it away, so don't expect him to work for free. He is honest, has a talented crew and worked out a deal that beats everyone else. The car looks great. In September I got into a car accident that messed up the front of my car-bumper, left fender, left headlight, and hood. I went to Autobody and met Dennis. As he checked out my car, i told him I didn't have insurance to cover my car's damages and that I had little money to fix it. He immediately took that into consideration and tried very hard to give my a very low estimate. He said he was going to work with my parts and have it fixed within a day. I was a little scared at the estimate because it was what I could afford, making it seem too good to be true. I went to another shop and got an estimate that was waaaayyy more expensive. I went back to Autobody Spa and the estimate ended up going down! bHe told me he understood my situation because he knew I was a student and has a daughter of his own. I turned it in at 11am and got a call from Dennis at 4 pm saying it would be ready by the evening! I picked it up the next morning and it looked so much better! He really made it work. I was so thankful and will definitely go back there again!!! For the first time I felt like I could trust a mechanic. Dennis is a very humble man, willing to help everyone. I was referred to Dennis & co. by a garage I had work on my car. His IMMACULATE shop was a little intimidating at first because it was filled with shiny new beemers and I just have my old Saab convertible that had been rear-ended, but you know what? Dennis actually seemed glad to see me. In fact, every time I've been there he has seemed genuinely glad to see me and I'll just assume that he's like that with everyone because now we're 3 for 3. So, I got an estimate to repair the damage, which seemed to be about what the rear-ender's insurance company estimated. Cool. It's a lot to spend on my baby with a lot of miles on the odometer, however. I ended up having a smaller bodywork job done here though, and they were very fairly priced, on target with the estimate, on time and really, really nice. My car was in an accident over a month ago. A woman hit the front passenger side of my car, and the bumper, panel over the tire, the wheel cap, and front door were all dented in. My poor car. It was only 7 months old at the time of the accident! Her insurance covered all the damages, so I have no experience with getting a quote from Autobody Spa, but I can say that customer service here is awesome. Dennis is the owner and is super nice and accommodating. The adjuster from Allstate (the other driver's insurance) was cheap and covered me for after market parts. Dennis pointed this out to me when I gave him the quote from the adjuster. I told him my car was only a few months old and still under warranty and that I wanted original Hyundai parts. He got them for me anyway. My car was washed and sparkling when I came to pick it up, and all the wheel caps were fixed, not just the one that was damaged from the accident. I have cheap wheel caps on my base model Hyundai and the back wheel caps had a couple dents from scraping the curb when parallel parking in the city, but they were all undented when I got my car back! I also had a friend take me to pick up my car. Both of his side mirrors have been broken for a long time. The passengers side needed new glass and the driver's side needed to be totally replaced. He dropped it off this morning and had his car back in just a couple hours. He didn't want to pay full price because his car has already had a lot of work done. It's a 4-5 yr old Acura that ended up needing a new engine. So Dennis found him used mirrors at a lower cost and installed those. Mirrors look great and the turn around was fast. Highly recommend this body shop. They really try to take care of you and accommodate your needs. Dennis is a really great guy, good communication, very professional. Dennis and the group over at Autobody Spa did a fantastic job (twice) with my car recently, completely beating my expectations for a good price. * The first go-around, I had scratched the side a brand new car with a perfect paint job while pulling into my smallish garage. Dennis explained to me that car paint actually has two layers, so often a surface scratch on the first layer can be buffed out without doing an expensive repaint of that area. With any luck, this would be one of those situations. And a day later, when I came to check, it turned out it was. The whole thing was so inexpensive, also, that I felt obligated to throw in a tip for these guys. What a great job. * The second time, I scratched that same place but way worse - there was probably even a little dent this time. I felt like I was definitely in "repaint" territory. I brought it in, and a day later, they had worked the exact same miracle. It looked perfect. I have no idea how they did it. Same two-digit price, and I tipped them again. I've take my Jeep and my girlfriends car to them for minor work over the years and they have consistently been courteous and really-really-really on top of it. Heck, once I showed up with a minor dent in my fender and Dennis came out with a slide hammer, pulled out the dent in 2 seconds and refused to be paid. Today I showed up to their shop with a window that would not roll up, explained my predicament to them (I only have street parking in the city and its about to rain). I know my way around auto body and especially the BS that you hear. I dropped in to Autobody Spa as Dennis is close. I have two vehicles scheduled and will update. What I can say is that I really get sick of the huffing and puffing clipboard routine that you usually get. Dennis was immediately available on both visits and quoted right away. Price was very fair and all comments he made strongly suggest he knows what he is talking about without bs'ing you. I picked up my van and was very happy with the work. I owe Dennis a Yelp review two years ago when I first took my much-abused-but-trusty 98 Honda to the Autobody Spa. Since then i've been back not once but TWICE due to small fender benders. You see, I am not a good driver and I admit it. Each time, Dennis was very fair and clear about the quote, and each time the work was awesome. And really fast too. The first time, I pulled the fender of my car right off as I was backing out of a teeny tiny garage. The second time, I rear-ended a ghetto car in the Mission that stopped short so the driver could say hi to her hoodie friend on the street. The third time, I mushed the front my car when I tapped (okay stronger than tap) the car in front of me at a stop sign on a rainy/slippery day. did i say i'm not a good driver? Dennis, the manager at Autobody Spa, was extremely polite and helpful, and offered to provide ten days' car rental FREE, as I didn't have coverage for that. Throughout, he was informative and pleasant. In many arenas, this may be the norm, but I have found it to be a very rare quality in a body shop. It was extra hassle for me to go here, as I had to wait for an insurance assessment, but it was well worth it to be treated with respect. I came in here looking to get a quote of my IS250 bumper and the main guy (I presume is the owner) had inspected the vehicle and quoted me. His quote was $100 more than another location, which isn't too big for the quality and I honestly would have gone with them, but I ended up checking out a different location because they he had seemed to try to up sell me and kept telling me that they do oil changes and stuff as well and asking where I get mine done. It wasn't bad, but I guess I really wanted to just get body work done without the up selling and pressure to do other services. Again, they are not bad and they were nice!! I got some problem with my Toyota RAV4 last year and went to this auto shop. The owner checked my car's mechanical condition and figured out there was transmission problem. He was very nice and did the check-up for free. He said that the problem couldn't be fixed there and I should go to Toyota dealership. And he gave me some tips for repair at the dealership.
