We were really happy with the customer service and the fact that our repairs were kept well under the budget we provided. The only downside was that they didn't see the oil change sticker on the front of our glove box (we had oil changed Just over a month ago at a different business). The other business also screwed up on what they did and it was found when we took car in for repairs. We didn't know that they did an oil change until we got home and were looking at the final invoice. In any event, we will go to Automotive Experts for all future lube and oil changes and other needed repairs/service. read more

I love this shop! The place is clean, the people are nice, and I feel like they really care and really listen. They even went above and beyond by sending pictures of a few things that they found that needed repairs. They really built trust with me quickly. A few years ago we had to move to Washington due being relocated due to work. I've had my SUV for 22 years, it's in good condition and runs well. On this model the vacuum hose can get knocked out of place easily which can cause air to blow on my feet constantly which drives me nuts. Usually I have had to take more time off work to go in and get this fixed because they did not listen to me when I explained about the hose during the initial drop off, but THEY listened and I got it back without any problems at all. They were also able to get me in the next week to fix those other items, one of which was a big repair. I never felt overcharged either as my services ended up being a little less than the estimate. I'm really happy that I found such a great place because even though my SUV is pretty old at this point, I really love it and want to keep it running as long as possible. I'm excited about getting all the new tech perks that come with a new vehicle, but this is my first vehicle that I bought for me, and I still love it and am not ready to let go just yet, and with this place, I know we're in good hands. read more

We asked some of our neighbors for a local garage that they trusted. Our regular guy has retired and we wanted someone reliable who wouldn't cheat us. This company came up do I took my little Yaris in for some routine maintenance. First off, they refused to do extra unnecessary work. I said "maybe it needs a tune up or a 90,000 mile service" but they said, "let's change the oil and see what it needs." I was impressed. Took the car in but I knew it needed a new serpentine belt. When I picked up my car, they had only done the oil change and the belt. Fantastic! I would have given them 5 stars because but I needed to take it back in for an adjustment a few days later. That was free, so I'm definitely impressed. I promptly paid for an additional repair on my daughter's car, which they did quickly and correctly. Where is my review from 3 years ago? Must have paid to have it removed. Took my daughters BMW X5 in to have a diagnosis done that included pressure testing the cooling system for $99. She was loosing coolant and couldnt figure out where/why. After waiting for 1 1/2 hrs and they had not started working on the car yet I decided to get a ride home even though I had an appointment and they didnt seem busy. 10 minutes later I had a phone call it was done... ??? I was told they did a pressure test and checked everything. I was told it needed a new water pump, water pump fan and clutch, 2 belts because "they were old and cracked" and a new thermostat in the tune of $1500+ I went to the auto part store and picked up ALL the parts for $115 and replaced the thermostat. Then I took off the radiator shroud and thought WTF, the belts look like new and so does the water pump and fan/clutch. The fan/clutch felt perfect also. I had my daughter call her uncle who she had bought the car from a few months earlier and ask him about it. Yup he replaced all that less than 6 months prior. After buying a pressure test radiator cap and doing my own pressure test I discovered there was a very small hole in the overflow tank that only leaked when it was a full temp. In other words they never did any of the work they said they were going to do. Be forewarned before trusting these guys. BTW, the BMW is still running fine with no more coolant leaking problems. read more

I went here with a check engine light on. They're across town from me but some friends use this and the tire shop next door and recommended them because they accept "SNAP" which is a type of credit. When I arrived I observed a mechanic park a car in the disabled parking and leave it there. Keep in mind each time I went there the disabled parking was full of untagged and without placard cars implying the shop uses it for general parking of cars in repair or repaired. I went into the repair shop and asked for an application for SNAP to pay for my repairs. The manager 'Chris" gave me a card and information to apply. When I applied it said I was approved. But, Chris informed me they would need the car for at least a day and so I waited. Figuring I had credit that other shops accept I tried going to a shop closer to home. The other shop said they don't take that credit but another form of it. So they gave me a card to apply for the credit they take. I was denied for that other form of credit. In both instances, applying meant texting numbers to a number and then getting a link to finish applying and the link was labeled with the repair shop "inviting you" to apply. Understand that nobody initially informed me of what kind of credit I had been approved for and which kind I applied for at Automotive E. until I spoke with SNAP multiple times and even they at first did not explain their programs. One type of credit is used for merchandise and the other for repairs. A couple weeks had passed and I was on the verge of giving up because now I wasn't sure that the shop that gave me the application took the credit I was approved for. But, considering Automotive E also never called me back when the shop "manager" said he would and considering his condescending and dismissive tone and attitude and considering the misuse of the disabled parking, my partner and I went back to speak to the owner. But, we didn't want to speak the manager because of his attitude. We wanted to know why I was given a credit application if they don't accept that credit for starters. So we went into the tire shop and asked the woman there if she knew the owner of the repair shop next door (Automotive Experts) as we explained the situation with the credit and everything. She immediately offered to mediate and "fix" the problem and we all went to Automotive Experts. She and "Chris" began discussing my SNAP credit and she got on their computer behind their desk implying a business relationship of some kind as now she is on their computers helping me. She then insists they (Automotive Experts) take the form of credit I have and that there would be no problem. Chris appears to be in agreement with her assessment and so we scheduled the repair. I even asked several times if they were sure and pointed out I would have no other way to pay if not. I dropped my car off and the next day it was ready so I went to use my credit. Chris began processing the payment, which I had been informed was processed different from the other form of SNAP. But then... It was declined. Apparently it was the wrong kind of credit. Chris refused to accept any responsibility for this. I spoke to the owner who also refused to accept any responsibility. At no time was any resolution offered. The owner pointed out they need to be paid but offered no solution that would have allowed a payment arrangement. At one point the owner even threatened to ask me to leave because I insulted him and his shop when I complained that the cost was excessive and I felt ripped off and, worse, without any method to pay because they don't accept credit that you apply for using the information they give you. They are dishonest and they will rip you off. I went in for a check engine light for an emission issue (per ONStar) and was left paying 2,471 in repairs without the ability to use credit they assured me I could use. I had to borrow money from friends and had I not been able to they would have kept my car and auctioned it because they don't care if any of what they say is true. If you are low income stay away. If you are desperate they will take advantage. They know if you can't pay they can keep and then auction your car. Dishonest, rude, and disabled unwelcome. If they hand you a Snap application don't believe it or their claims that they accept it. They will find just enough wrong with your car to use up that credit and then they won't accept that credit leaving you with one less ability to pay them and, if that was the only way you had to pay them, they will callously leave you in a situation like they left me in. I will never use them again and they don't know it yet but they just lost the business of my friends who had been taking several vehicles there for years. Dishonest, hostile, unprofessional, and they will rip you off. If you don't a few thousand in cash to pay for all the repairs they suddenly will find you need, definitely don't believe that Snap application they hand you. read more

Please go somewhere where you deal with honest trustworthy mechanics. These guys are not good people at the end of the day. The bad reviews come from people who were looking to have their car problems examined or diagnosed if you will. Automotive Experts is a place for car lovers, owned by car lovers. They possess the rare combination of both speed and skillful care only available to true experts. Absolutely everything from my visit was commendable, from the friendly front service desk, the expediency of their work, to the accurate care of my car, and the no nonsense break down of what my car needed. I can't even buy the same materials to change my oil at the cost they could replace it at! They really pass their savings onto the customer. A big plus was how honest they were with the condition of my car, my service manual recommends replacing a lot of fluids at 90,000 miles and I didn't have the extra time or money to get it done at that moment. Automotive Experts inspected all the fluids and they caught all the problem fluids needing to be replaced, but not immediately necessary. Even came back into the shop with their finger coated in some of the fluids as proof to how well the car was doing. It was definitely a load of my mind knowing I could keep driving my car across country without putting down a big payment on my vehicle. My experience at a dealer was terrible, leaving me with still no air conditioning and an engine covered in Freon. Recommended to go there by Covington Les Schwab fo a 60,000 mile change every fluid in the truck service. Talked with the desk man about what that service entailed. He was honest up front and patient in explaining everything. Made the appointment. Robert worked with me on the pricing to save a little money. Work was done as explained and on time. My Ram 1500 is doing great. I ran an automotive shop for 7 years and worked at it for 22. It takes a lot more to make everything go correctly than most people think. In that kind of work. Well, I'm sad to be writing this but it must be said. I don't know where Chris is these days but the place has gone downhill in the last couple years. They're price quotes are high but what bothers me the most is the guy they currently have somewhat running the place. He's sometimes nice, but he's not very personable or welcoming when you come in. Especially being a long time customer like myself. I will also hear him yell and treat the mechanics in the back like garbage. I don't appreciate people who don't appreciate their labor workers. I just went in today for an oil change with general multi-point inspection and getting a headlight fixed. I had previously lived in the Seattle Metro area but not here, and my old mechanic was just too far. I had moved out of state some years ago and just moved back, via cross-country drive. I talked to Chris S. on the phone before arriving and Chris O. (hope I got his last initial right - either way he is the owner) greeted me when I arrived. Well, they both did, but Chris O. took my keys. Chris S. had scheduled me for 4pm but I arrived about half an hour early and they took me back at that time. They were all done within about an hour. Best of all - my car had an annoying squeal that was advised by another mechanic was likely my A/C compressor (a $600 part), and others speculated differently from that. When I mentioned what I was told, both Chris' said "It's not either of those." Initially, Chris O. said it might take some time to access the belt that was at fault. But before I left, he checked again and decided he might be able to get to it. Within a few minutes, he'd fixed it and the annoying squeal is now gone - one that had been around for MONTHS, past TWO mechanics! Both Chris' were exceptionally helpful, friendly and honest right from the get-go, before I even walked in the door. That was my first time there, but they instantly made a repeat customer of me. Found out I needed to get my left axle replaced. Looked around to 4 different shops before I found out about this place. Chris took my call and was very prompt, friendly and professional. Took my car to the shop and he was as straightforward as it gets. He didn't run around trying to get additional, unnecessary fees and services out of me, he told me exactly what I needed to hear and went the extra mile to make sure I had the best deal on parts that he can find. In the end, he had changed my axle and 2 front brakes (which really needed to be changed as well) for cheaper than what the other 4 shops were going to charge me for changing the axle only. Had the best customer experience over the phone. First time customer so I called to schedule an oil appointment for the next day. Tyler told me that they were all booked up for the next 3 days, and I said "Oh I'll have to come back another time then, as I have a road trip tomorrow." He said, "Well hold on, let me get my manager." Chris came on the phone, and was able to schedule me in for the next day, even though he said they're low on technicians. He took down my information, and we even shop-talked about my car for a few minutes. Very friendly yet professional. Arrived the next day, and Chris is just as professional and friendly in person. He said, "Yep, we're not going to say you have a dirty air filter unless you do." The price for the oil change was completely fair. I'll never step foot in a Jiffy Monkey again! I called a few small businesses to try to get Suzy's oil changed same day (my Suzuki Grand Vitara) and when I called Automotive Experts--initially they told me they were booked--but when I told them that I would probably have to go to Jiffy Lube as a last resort (and I hate Jiffy Lube), the guy on the phone said, "Oh no we can't let that happen" and he told me to come bring my car in and they would fit me in. Suzy and I found the store with no problems, I received super friendly customer service, the bathroom was clean, they changed my oil super fast, and they only charged me $37 total which in my opinion is not a good deal. Our car did not smoke before we brought it here. Now it smokes a lot and burns 2 to 3 quarts of oil each month.

In mid May I took my Suburban in to get checked. They discovered that there was an oil leak ( two seals were bad) and steering pump leak. I told them to go ahead and fix it for $1700. Later that day they called and said the head was cracked and the total would be $4800 bucks. I told them to stop all work and they did and I went and picked it up. I went and got a 2nd and 3rd opinion and they both told me the same thing. The oil leak was coming from a oil pressure sensor ($100 est) all the seals were fine. The power steering pump was fine as well. The head was not cracked it just needed new valve covers ($400 est). I walked out of there paying $500 and Automotive experts was trying to charge me $4800. They either have technicians that are no good or not honest. Both of which hurts people and family's and should not happen. read more

Maybe they do deal honestly with SOME..but not with me. They gave me an estimate of over 1100 for a 250 fix. Thats right. They told me it was the heat core of my defrost/air conditioning/heater, requiring the dismantling of my driver side front panel, to replace parts that even by their own admission passed 2 pressure tests. 1100 bucks. Single Mom here. Yeah. Because I had just spent 1100 at their shop on brakes, I simply did not have another 1100 bucks. A friend told me to take my car to their mechanic. I did. Again, pressure test passed, so intelligently and or honestly, the mechanic for the second opinion, went ahead and checked the thermostat. This turned out to be the REAL problem. Cost me 250. NOT 1100. With new thermostat, my defrost works great. So, not only did the mechanics at Automotive Experts misdiagnose the issue, but were perfectly willing to fix what was NOT broken and bill me the much higher amount. Perhaps, they were planning to change the thermostat and charge me for the other more costly repair because afterall, how would I know the difference? Right? Explicative Explicative Explicative here. I will NEVER EVER, NEVER go back there. Women, or mechanically challenged BEWARE. This shop may give good service to some, but not to all. I would be extremely cautious if you feel you must go. Now I am very curious to know if I really needed that 1400 dollar (or was it 1700 dollar) timing belt that had only 30K on it back in 2011. Not to even mention the other repairs I've had done there. read more
