This used to be my only go to place before the sale. My radiator was replaced here less than a year ago, when it was Automotive Service (great community people before). Now that it is Legend, they would not even review the radiator leak that I have from their install without charging me for it. I declined and will no longer be bringing my personal or company fleet vehicles here. Some people can't see the forest through the trees. Treat people right. My car was given back to me in pieces seems the tech was young so I let it slide and completed the assembly myself. Was renbursed $150.00 and used it to have alignment at another shop. Then got to looking closer at the TPS I was charged $197.59 to replace and noticed it was never replaced. read more

I took my Mercedes C300 into service technician Davis. He was attentive and listened to what was going on with my car. Every time someone in the auto pair business sees you pull up in a luxury car dollar signs show up in there pupils!! Omg. First time in a long time I didn't have that experience. Davis explained the problem did his best to keep me running by resetting a few things. And said only Mercedes had the tools to fix it! And didn't charge me a dime. I don't write reviews! Roy Restad, owner of this shop, like a previous reviewer mentioned is really as honest as they come! Excellent service, reasonable pricing! I went to get quotes from many other shops & they were trying to swindle as much money as they could but NOT Roy! I needed my brakes & some rotors changed. Most shops told me I needed to change all my brake pads & rotors but Roy carefully inspected & told me I only needed my front pads, front rotors, & rear pads replaced, while I could flip my rear rotors, saving me a ton of money! I also had a loose door handle that Roy fixed for free!!! Who does that?!?! There's only one that I know, Roy Restad! I'm absolutely blown away by his amazing service. They have totally exceeded my expectations. This is now my go-to auto repair. read more

I was a first time customer coming in for an oil change on my beat up 91 accord. Customer service was excellent. The change and a quick once over was very quick. The owner came over and explained what they found and didn't push me hard to get a bunch of things fixed. The reason for the poor review is that I asked for two things when I came in. I knew I needed the oil changed and my R turn signal needed replacing. They did the oil and replaced a brake light. No one looked at the turn signal and they did not reset the brake light indicator in the instrument panel. I will come back and adjust my review. I have a feeling they are not generally this mistake prone. It may have been because they were rushing... It was about 30 minutes til close. I'm willing to give them a second chance. read more

Buzz made me a promise on a handshake, then Roy told me I wasn't a little girl and should know better than to trust a handshake. Buzz did not even have the decency to call me. All the while Roy backs him up. These are not honest men? They have been servicing my car for years & I was led to believe I could trust them. Roy told me I was a grown woman and should know better. Yes, I'm 65 years old and I took Buzz at his word. Is that wrong? Guess so at Automotive Service. That's not the way I was raised. A man is his word and Buzz should be ashamed of himself. I was lied to, disrespected and belittled. Avoid these men at all costs! They have been maintaining my Honda for years and I was shocked and very disappointed to discover they are not to be trusted as the friends I had been led to believe they were. Took our Volvo to this mechanic after reading the reviews on Yelp and so very glad I did! We bought a used Volvo about a month ago. We had another mechanic look the car over before we made the final purchase and they gave us a list of things that needed to be repaired. They estimated that there was $750 worth of work that needed to be done now and another $500 that would need to be done later. We purchased the car and shortly afterwards, noticed that there was water leaking into the car from somewhere. We took it to a Volvo specialist mechanic and they had the car for 5 days, charged us $200, and didn't do anything about the leak. Just reset the airbag sensor (that probably malfunctioned because of the leak). So, I took the Volvo to Automotive Service a couple days ago. They found and repaired the leak in one day for a little over $100. I then showed them the list of repairs that we had received from the previous mechanic. They kept the car another day and in the end, didn't end up having to do half the stuff on the list because it wasn't necessary right now or wasn't really broken, and the stuff that they did do, they did for far cheaper plus replaced our brake pads which the previous mechanic hadn't noticed. The total cost of everything, including the water leak repair, was just about $300. Couldn't be happier. We have definitely found our go-to mechanic! read more

I cannot say enough about the excellent service I received from the owner Roy Restad. I have had two recent nightmare situations with my personal vehicles. The first being an engine blow up which was initially handled by another mechanic who was unable to determine the rebuilt engine was defective. Thankfully, I was referred to Roy's shop by a friend who swears by Automotive Service. Within a day, Roy was able to determine the problem was with the rebuilt engine. I purchased the defective engine from a company in Oregon which was refusing to issue a refund. Roy took the time to write a letter explaining, in detail, the issues with the rebuilt engine and why it was defective which helped me ultimately obtain a refund. Shortly after this incident, I had another issue with a different vehicle which was having engine troubles. Roy was able to diagnose the problem and determine it would be covered under a warranty extension by the manufacturer. Roy arranged for the vehicle to be towed to the dealership where the repairs were completed as well as some outstanding recalls, free of charge, which saved me approximately $2500 in parts and labor. I would also like to acknowledge Buzz and the rest of the Automotive Service staff for really going the extra mile. It was a pleasure dealing with such a fine local business especially when you are dealing with the possibility of paying hundreds or thousands of dollars for a vehicle repair. It is extremely refreshing to deal with mechanic you can trust is going to be honest and fair regarding any repairs that may be needed. These guys were able to find out what was wrong with my car (electrical, we knew, but how bad, we didn't know) in short order. And rather than recommend we spend the entire blue book value on this older car that runs great except for the electrical, they suggested not to. I love honesty in business. I took my truck here to get exhaust manifold leak fixed, just after a year same leak and they refuse to repair it. I put less then 10k miles and never hauled anything it was just past the warranty and they wouldn't do anything to help. To top it off they had my truck for 2 weeks and did nothing. This place deserves a few negative stars! This place did the safety inspection on our vehicle before we bought it from Car Club... Side note, don't ever go to Car Club unless u want to waste time and lots of money! In any case, Automotive Service did the inspection prior to us buying our vehicle and then they worked on our vehicle 4 times within about 9 weeks for an overheating problem and a check engine light that kept coming on. They told us not to worry about the check engine light that it just tripped off because of the cold weather so they kept turning it off. But it would just pop back on after a couple weeks. As far as the overheating problem, first they said it needed a thermostat, did that. Then they said their guys installed the thermostat wrong and that there was an air bubble in the lines. Finally, the last time they worked on it for 3 days and said they didn't know what the problem was. We decided to take our car to my father in law's mechanic and within 3 hours he called us with the diagnosis.... Blown head gasket. He also told us the check engine light was turning on because of the blown head gasket. Not only was the head gasket blown but there was extensive rust damage so every little nut and bolt had to be changed! We didn't even own the vehicle 3 months so the damage had been there before purchasing the vehicle so apparently they don't inspect the vehicles to well. Both Car Club and Automotive Service would take no responsibility for the fact that they sold and inspected a vehicle with a blown head gasket. Further more, my husband went back to Automotive Service to talk to the owner, Roy, after we picked up our truck and payed our bill from the other mechanic to discuss any possible compensation for the damage done at his shop to our vehicle. He was completely unsympathetic and not even remotely apologetic for the horrible workmanship of his crew. He also disclosed to my husband that they were having the same exact problem with another vehicle, sold by Car Club, and inspected and worked on at Automotive Service Inc. Please take my advice and never go to either one of these places!!! This is the worst experience my husband and I have ever had with a dealer and mechanic!!! read more

Yesterday I was sitting in the cell phone waiting lot at Sea-Tac to pick up my friend. We were planning to leave immediately from the airport to drive cross country. After waiting with my engine off but my radio and headlights on, my car wouldn't start. I got a jump and drove to Advance Auto Parts to get the battery checked and was told it was fine. At this point I'm freaked out because I'm about to drive 3500 miles and I'm thinking it's my alternator. One of the guys at Advance recommended Automotive Service Inc to get it checked out. Amir immediately helped me. He ran a check on my electrical system and initially quoted me a very reasonable price to replace the alternator, and promised to get it done same day so I could leave on my trip. To make sure he had correctly diagnosed the problem, he drove the car with the head technician, and they determined the alternator was actually fine. He was honest with me even though I had already agreed to have them replace the alternator. He told me he didn't want to waste my time and money on an unnecessary repair. I was doubtful when reading all the other 5-star reviews that an auto service shop could be this good. Well, they lived up to the rating. We bought a 20-year old Volvo wagon, as-is off a lot with no inspection. The air conditioning didn't work. The doors wouldn't lock. The odometer was broken. Goodness knows what else might be wrong. Buzz and company went through it with a fine-tooth analysis and came back with some basic recommendations (after saying we bought a really good car). They fixed the locks, fixed the A/C. Were honest enough to say the odometer would take an entire instrument cluster and 4-5 hours of labor and it wasn't worth it to repair for what we paid for the car ($1950). Total tab was $240 (plus $80 they had to pay a local Volvo dealership for a new key that actually worked in the locks). We couldn't be happier. This is a terrific place with great service, friendly staff (we got daily updates from the service desk) and great work at a bargain price. They have my business from now on and I recommend they get yours too. read more
