DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS AUTO DEALER. I purchased a vehicle from them in August 2024. I was told I would have my title and plates in about two months. When those two months came and passed I called asking for an update. after confirming my information I was informed that the person who handled their titles was out of the office. This was the beginning of over a year of calling them and receiving the same run around. He was always out of office. I even asked what hours he would be in and called at the appropriate time only to be told the same spiel. I live an hour and a half away and after six months of getting the run around I went in and all they did was offer to give me fresh temporaries. This was only a bandaid for a wound that needed stitches. Soon after I was able to get in touch with their title person who, I found out, was one of the owners. He gave me more excuses about how there was a hold up with the DOL. I waited patiently for another six months before finally being beyond fed up and filed a complaint with the Washington DOL. I was then pointed towards filing a claim against their dealership bond. It was only after I filed a claim against their dealership bond that they got me my title and plates, two days after they had been contact by the bond. What this tells me is that they had the ability to get me my title and plates before this due to the speed at which they were able to acquire them when they were threatened with financial liability by the bond agency. In the end, I received my title and plates in Feburary of 2026. This was beyond unacceptable. I have never written a bad review but have been so incensed by the entire ordeal that I felt it was my duty to inform others before they make the same mistake I did by doing business with this auto dealership. Cannot warn you to stay away enough. I am now $20k into a $10k car I bought there. Sold me a Subie that they had "done all the work" that needed to be done at 200k miles. Headers, gaskets, etc. Had to take the car back in within a week because it wouldn't shift into gear from park properly. It wouldn't accelerate from a stop appropriately and would just shut itself off while idling at a stop light or sign. They supposedly got it in and said it was a sensor issue and "fixed it". (Remember that for later) Then the car dropped all its oil and seized up within months of it being purchased. They insisted it was my fault. So the "insurance plan" they sold me for another $800 wasn't going to be any good either. (Even if the oil wasn't checked in 3 months' time.... which it WAS... it shouldn't have vanished within a few months of having the engine overhauled). Of course, they offered to replace the engine, if I paid them for it. So, it sat on their lot while I found a REPUTABLE mechanic to look at it. Once I had found the best garage in town for Subarus, they wouldn't even put the car on their trailer to take it to the shop, I had to pay for the tow off their lot. And that sensor issue they "fixed"? The mechanic said all the warning lights I took it back to them to check was because someone did a quick fix by jamming/bypassing the sensor. Literally, the WORST car purchasing (or mechanic) experience I have ever had. Ric (salesperson) was rude and felt comfortable swearing around my wife and son. Should have been my first red flag. I just thought he was trying to be "buddy buddy". Nope, turns out "Skeezy salesperson" is a stereotype for a reason. Stephanie started scolding me on the phone when I called and was upset with the weeks of delay that involved all these issues. YOU MUST AVOID THIS CAR LOT AT ALL COSTS. read more

There is no way for me to prove this, but I believe a heavier weight oil was put into this car to mask an engine knock prior to selling it. After taking it to the Jeep dealer locally for an oil change, I now have a terrible engine knock. As yet undiagnosed, it's probably lifters, an expensive repair. They had no qualms with me taking the car to my own mechanic for a pre-purchase inspection, and when it was discovered the car needed new brakes, they just said, "Oh we'll fix that" like without a blink. This was in stark contrast to another dealer I recently came across who was trying to sell a car with a leaky steering rack and a broken ball joint but wouldn't perform the services or budge on price. I brought in a car for trade as part of the deal and they gave me a fair price on it. The salesmen and the manager who I worked with were all friendly and on-point, responsive, and easy-going / low-pressure. I bought a 1996 Chevy blazer with only 126k miles , it was leaking oil on the test drive.... I still decided to buy it and a week after I bought it the brakes went out shortly after that the power steering pump went out as well which I replaced and serviced on my own after I fixed that the tie rods went out which I hope they didn't know about because that is very unsafe to sell a car in that condition now it won't even start up I'm fed up and tired I work hard for my money i feel robbed I wouldn't recommend this dealership to my worst enemy they are offering to help and give me a discounted price on the service needed to fix the car which I appreciate and don't need I can do it myself but that's not the point , the point is I got sold a lemon. when I went to talk to my salesman Rick about the situation he called me young/broke and said the reason the car won't start anymore is because I didn't keep the gas tank topped off at all times. Automotive specialties did live up to their commitment to fix the tire sensors on the vehicle but only after us insisting it get done not like they had said they'd be calling us right away to schedule. It took them until literally three days before our 1st payment was due to follow up with us on needed documents for the financing company, then they had the nerve to tell us that we had get something to them when they called us at 4 p.m. that same day or the loan was being canceled. Our experience as a family was super unprofessional and unbelievable. we have bought many cars from many dealerships and this is the very first one that we have ever had issues with. My son was super excited to buy his first car and we were working with Stephanie which in the beginning of the process was awesome. She requested paperwork from us, and we returned it right away and when it came to test driving the vehicle prior to sitting down and finishing all paperwork it went downhill really quick. I wasn't able to be there since I was at work, so we were communicating with my spouse and son by phone since I was my son's co-signer. Apparently, we weren't making our decisions as fast as Stephanie liked so she had the nerve to tell us that she had another customer to attend because we were wasting her time...Um excuse me. So, I overheard what she had said, and I had my spouse pass me Stephanie and Yes, I did raise my voice at her because excuse me WE are the ones buying the vehicle and this is a big decision for my son and if you want a sale, you BETTER be patient. First of all, we never said that we weren't going to buy the vehicle we were just trying to decide if we wanted an extended warranty on it or not. So yes, I did raise my voice at her. NO one should be talked down like that especially not MY family. How unprofessional. I also talked to another person that was supposedly her supervisior and he stated that he pays and trains his employees to rush clients because they do waste their time. I was like excuse me. You guys wasted my whole day because you know what I will not do any sort of business with you guys. There are different ways to speak and rush clients. Found a car that fit the description of what I was looking for online at this lot.  This car was the "unicorn" of cars that I'd had trouble locating.  So, when I found this one, although it was a 13-hour round trip drive away, I was more than willing to drive to get it.  But first, I called and spoke to John over the phone.  I told him of my long drive and asked him if he would go out and check the car out for me to see if it was worth the drive.  I specifically asked him to see if it had been a smoker's car, twice. After going out to look at the car and calling me back, he said that it "maaaaybe had been a smoker's car?". He then proceeded to tell me that he's picky about smoker's cars, so he understands where I'm coming from, and that he might've picked up just a hint of smoke in the car but acted not sure.  John told me there was one blemish he noticed and that was a "tiny, barely noticeable burn on the side of the passenger seat".  He said it was a very nice car with a normal amount of wear and tear for an 8-year-old car.  So..........I drive the 6.5 hours one way to see it.  This car smelled like an ashtray, just opening the door and standing outside of the car was offensive smelling   Although detailed to sparkly clean (seriously, i mean clean! -props to the detail department) this cars smoke smell was unbearable.  Neither myself nor the other two people with me wanted to get into the car but did because we'd driven so far to see it.  Had this car been closer to home, I would not have even test driven it.   The one "barely noticeable burn" was burned all the way through to the padding, so was the burn in the headliner as well as the one in the backseat.  There were at least 13+ less major burns on the drivers and passenger door as well as burns on the backs of the seats.  There was absolutely NO pretending that this wasn't a smoker's car, even from just a glance (or sniff).  The smoke was a deal breaker for me, but even without the smoke the car had issues.  They advertised that it has a backup camera and steering wheel controls. Although they do come with this equipment, they didn't work.  Even though I paid for a pre-purchase inspection before I drove to see it, 3rd gear and the ebrake clearly has issues (this passed inspection how? -oh that's right, John picked the shop because the one I'd picked was 20 minutes away and that was too far for him to take the car).  Also, this car was priced at the highest end of good condition under KBB, John told me their price was non-negotiable and they don't usually lower prices.  The condition of this ashtray on wheels was fair, at best. Also, when I got to the lot, the car was covered in mud.  So, it was very hard to see blemishes in the paint and much easier for dents to blend in.  This makes no sense to me as John had 24 hours' notice that we were coming, along with another heads-up via text 3 hours before we got there.  AND there was someone on the lot actively washing cars when we got there because it was a sunny day. "Hey man, since you're washing cars will you wash the XYZ car, I've got someone driving up to buy it in a few hours and it's pretty muddy" ........... ?????????????? Yes?????  Just maybe???? Scott and the other salesmen were very nice to us and we enjoyed working with them.  But, John was willing to tell me exactly what he thought I wanted to hear for me to drive to see it.  I feel he felt that if I made the long drive, I was going to buy the car.  I was so much of a guaranteed sell to him that he didn't even bother to have the mud washed off the car, so I could fully inspect it.  I guess I should've known he was shady when he seemed annoyed and inconvenienced that I wanted to pay for my own inspection rather than just depending on their "in house" inspection. I wouldn't recommend anyone waste their time going to see John, he's the kind of car salesmen that gives everyone else a bad name. Myself nor my family can regain the entire Saturday we lost, including gas and meals money because someone can't be honest about something so obvious in order to make a quick paycheck. read more

I was looking for a very specific year, make, model, color and trim. One showed up at Automotive Specialties. I drove 6 hours to get there. On the test drive there was a "dummy light" on the dash which in my opinion should have been addressed prior to their listing the car for sale. Their mechanic looked at it but was unable to repair it that day. They verbally promised to pay for the repair (I know, I know), they gave me a fair trade in for my old car - which had over 200,000 miles, and I drove 6 hours home in my "new" car. The dealer fixed the problem and I was very pleased to hear that Automotive Specialties paid for it just like they said they would. I've had the car for 2 years now and have no regrets. read more

The place suffers from salesperson arrogance and laziness. You can be in the lot for 30 min. and no one comes out to help. You have to go in, even when they aren't busy. They hand you an inventory list. You do the work and ask the questions. You get sarcastic answers, like" buyers are liars and this is the 'get-price' " with no negotiation on the price. take it or leave it, I guess. Gee , I wonder why they are ear-deep in cars? They put on an attitude of who gives a ****? (Certainly not the salesman). They will not show you the car. You can go find the musty smelling car of your choice. John was a COMPLETE ASS raising his voice and was refusing to help in any sort of way... since we have bought the vehicle we have put in more than 5,000 dollars into it and mind you we had bought the warranty!! the warranty is crap and the customer service there is too!! would never EVER send recommend this place to anybody!! Worst place ever we were looking for a 03 Murano the sales guy told us it was the perfect car he would sell it to his daughter that it ran so good... We took it home it overheated they had forgot to put coolant in the car! We took it back they said it was ok no damage had been done... The motor made funny sounds and the check engine light came on... We took it back they ran something through it and turned the light off. said the car was amazing... We went home it was burning through oil fast.. We took it back... They said all Murano's burn through oil they run hot... come to find out the engine is messed up 6k fix but our problem now... Mechanic says they fixed it up just enough to run for awhile.... What a wonderful little car lot..... I called many many times to set up an appointment to have it checked out per " limited warranty " they ended up telling me they fired their mechanics. After Ric disrespectfully yelled at me 3 different times for asking run of the mill questions, and then throwing his cohort Stephanie (who is great) under the bus twice, I quickly realized he is inherently sexist. Never before had a dealer yell at me for simple questions that I've asked before (what repairs have you done, how far are you willing to come down, etc) but quickly I realized that the problem was my gender. Between the lies that they're "losing $500" like that's never been fibbed before and the lack of respect, I would never recommend this lot. The repair cost on a vehicle magically went from $4000 to $3500 even though the vehicle continued to smell heavily of burnt oil. We were prepared to make a deal, but he was in no way willing to budge even $100 because he was too busy yelling at me that, "It was none of my business what they charged." He has zero respect for women, even said something disrespectful about his wife at the time of meeting him. Do not recommend. Please take your business elsewhere. read more

Wow, where to start. I was looking for a car for my daughter and we happen to see a nice looking vehicle on their website. My wife called the lot to see if the vehicle was still for sale, and after confirming it was, she sent me to look at it. I went to the lot, found the vehicle, and since there were no salesmen around I began to look the vehicle over myself. While inspecting the vehicle I noticed that the inner fender well on the passenger side had been damaged, and was being held in with duct tape. Upon seeing this, I had some concerns about the possible extent of the damage, and when the salesman (John) came over I asked him about it. John told me he wasn't sure about it, and that he would ask the owner. I decided to take the car for a test drive, so John and I headed for the office. On the way to the office, John relayed to me several times about the stellar reputation that owner and the lot has. When we entered the office, the owner was present, so John asked him politely if he knew about the duct tape holding the inner fender. That's when things went down hill, and fast. The owner proceeded to lay into me, saying "You damn people come in here looking at a car with 100k miles and expect perfection!" I was shocked, as I hadn't even said a word to this man up to that point. He then began to bad mouth the salesman in front of me, saying "John is used to selling low end cars, not the upper end models that this lot has". Not sure where that came from, I thought John was actually doing a pretty good job. Anyhow, I expressed my concern as to if there could possibly be additional damage to the vehicle, and based on the duct tape fix, was the damage fixed, and how well. The owner again went off on me, then left the office. At that point I was so mad I decided to leave the lot. After cooling off for a few days, I called John back and asked if I could test drive the car and he apologized for the owners outburst. It's sad that the salesman has to apologize for the owner. So, my daughter and I test dove the vehicle and when we returned, we told the salesman that we would buy it, but noticed one of the headlights wasn't working, and that we wanted the duct taped inner fender replaced. He agreed to fix the auto. Then, when it came time to talk price, well according to John that was easy, they don't negotiate. Really, you sell duct taped cars at above market value, and yell at customers, but won't negotiate? I seem to recall this man talking to me about the great reputation the lot had, with who? Anyhow, we agreed on a price, wow I saved $150!, still my daughter paid over book. The best part, we go to pick up the car the next day, they put the new bulb for the burned out head light in the glove box, and ordered the inner fender for ME to install! and make things even better, when I went to install the inner fender, the wheels have missing lug nuts that were covered up by the wheel covers! Bottom line........In my personal opinion,this lot, and the owner are less than honest, do not care about the safety, nor the satisfaction of the customer, and sell broken vehicles in violation of Washington State Law RCW 46.70.101(1)(b)(viii)). My mom and I drove from Moses Lake, WA to look at a Nissan that Automotive Specialties had in there lot. I am a first time buyer of a new/used vehicle and was nervous. The guys that work there were very friendly, and were more than helpful. They brought up the van I was looking at online, and let us test drive it. We heard a small noise coming from the car, and upon our return we let John know our concern. He offered to take another drive with us and offered to have the problem fixed. Come to find out it was nothing, but he never once pressured us into buying it. We told them we wanted to go look out a few more car lots before we made our decision, again no pressure. John gave me his card so we could call him back if we decided on the van. After visiting a few places Automotive had the best price, so we called back. John talked with us for awhile after I explained that I have had bad experiences with buying vehicles from owners, hence or decision to try a car lot. He assured me that their mechanics look over the vehicles before they sell them, and if for some reason I had any trouble with the van within the first month or two to bring it back so they could have it fixed. And if the problem happens later on, say 6 months, to call them back anyways and they will help us find a mechanic to fix it that is trust worthy and would do it for a decent price. We drove the van off the lot and brought it home, and so far this van has been amazing! Could not be happier with our decision. read more
