Julian the salesperson was very helpful and transparent when it comes to selling vehicles. I came in looking to buy the 2017 Honda Civic LX they were selling and end up coming out with a great deal i could not refuse! The dealership is nice inside and very updated to a modern setting. If your looking to buy a vehicle, look for julian !

AutoNation Mazda Carlsbad It was a pleasure meeting Everyone person Saturday when i went to purchase my Mazda CX-50. Ash Keshtmand, Sales Manger mentioned to me that he wanted to earn my business and he did that and more !! An additional thank you and appreciation to sorting out a missed option issue. I believe we both came together with a win-win in the complete overall sale and transaction on everything!! The whole team was great from Sunny, to Esmerald to Austin in finance. It was a pleasure dealing with ALL of them in in a smooth transaction from start to finish. I would highly recommend anyone wanting to purchasing a Mazda to go AUTONATION Mazda Carlsbad !! A premier Mazda dealer in San Diego, Hands Down!!

I was ready to replace my 2011 Mazda3 Hatchback & found my new car on Carfax at Autonation Mazda Carlsbad. My sales rep was Ian Moss & he was knowledgeable & a true gentleman. I fell in love at 1st sight with my 2021 Corolla hatchback. Ian was patient & helpful during the whole process. I highly recommend him & the dealership!

I've been working with Leo for about a month now on negotiating a vehicle. I will say Leo has been extremely helpful throughout the process. My credit was checked and I signed to have a vehicle held for me when it arrived as it wasn't on lot yet. I was out of the country when the vehicle finally arrived and was being pressed to e-sign for a car I've never seen in person to avoid losing out on deal terms / December incentives. I've never signed for a car without test driving and seeing it in person. I noticed some bubbles / ripples in the seats in the photos that were posted online so I decided to return home early from my trip to see car in person before signing. Today, I went in and test drove the car but it did have factory defects in seating upon arrival. Leather has tons of ripples and is completely warped in some areas. This is unacceptable for a brand new vehicle fresh off the truck. It's not the dealerships fault, it's a Mazda production issue. However, the dealership should stand by the product they sell and correct the issues. I was working with Chase and Leo to see if the seats could be fixed. Time was not in my favor though, I kept being told that I face potentially losing out on deal terms if I didn't sign today. I was not comfortable driving the car off the lot yet as it was raining badly and couldn't do a thorough walk around plus I was already dissatisfied with the interior condition. Chase and Leo acknowledged my concerns and the issues with the seats and said they'd try to work on it. I went home and contemplated signing everything even though a resolution had not been fully presented. I still didn't feel good about things so I called the dealership to see if I could get some reassurance prior to signing and placing deposit. That's when I was connected to Sonny because Chase and Leo were gone for the day. I completely lost all faith after speaking with Sonny. He told me he had two employees look at the car and saw a video for himself and nothing is wrong with the car. That this car is in the same condition as any other car on their lot. Well, if this is the condition of all cars then Mazda has major issues with their manufacturing of seats. Sonny said he was happy I didn't buy the car and that he wasn't going to help fix anything. I told him he was going against what Leo and Chase already agreed too. It's New Year's Eve, I've spent over a month waiting on this car. I had my credit checked for this specific car and everything. I cannot believe that Sonny is the sales manager and telling me that there is nothing wrong with the seats when they have defects that others have already acknowledged. I completely lost faith after my conversation with Sonny and wish I never spoke with him. I'm so frustrated and upset with my experience. Sonny told me they would sell the car to someone else. Anyone purchasing a $60k car is going to expect it to be in pristine condition so if you don't fix it for me, you'll likely have to fix it for the next person anyway. And guess what Sonny, I can buy this car from somewhere else for the same deal without all the pressure and reverse psychology tactics. Happy New Year! VIN: JM3KKEHC5T1362250

You can instantly tell he isn't just trying to make a quick sale; he genuinely cares about getting you into the right, reliable vehicle that fits your budget and needs. He took the time to answer all my questions, made the entire process completely stress-free, and treated me with real honesty and respect throughout. Thank you, Derek, and the Toyota Carlsbad team for the top-notch service! I'll definitely be recommending Derek to all my friends and family.

I'm so happy to say that my experience at AutoNation Subaru in Carlsbad was the exact opposite of everything I despise about buying a car. They were all so friendly (genuinely friendly), Jake Smylie was awesome to work with, and they were transparent and fair with everything discussed. I traded in my 2021 VW Jetta that just crested her 100,000 mile mark, and I bought a 2026 Subaru Forester. I got an amazing deal, a fair offer on my trade in, and everything was transparent as far as pricing, offers for dealer add-ons, etc. I personally am more knowledgeable about cars, buying cars, and the whole process than most, but I didn't feel like I even needed to be as knowledgeable since they explained everything in layman's terms. My only downside was that it took a long time to get into the financing office for the finalization, but that was not anything on the fault of the dealership or any individual. I can't even say it's a downside on the dealership since I believe the delay was due to the dealership going above and beyond for the individuals who came in before me - which I appreciate! All-in-all, I loved working with Jake, and I love my Subaru!

Dear AutoNation Subaru Carlsbad Management,…read more I am writing to formally express my disappointment with the sales and service experience I received after purchasing a used vehicle from AutoNation Subaru Carlsbad on Monday, July 27. As part of the purchase agreement, the vehicle required a due bill for a repair to the left side of the front bumper. At the time of purchase, the issue appeared relatively minor--a missing clip and a small section of the bumper that needed to be secured back into place. Because the service department was already closed by the time the purchase paperwork was completed, I took the vehicle home and returned it to the dealership on Wednesday, July 29. After inspecting the vehicle, the service technician determined that the repair would require a collision specialist. I left the vehicle with the dealership expecting to receive an update regarding the repair and an estimated completion date. That communication never came. On Friday, July 31, I called and left a message for my service advisor, Jessie, requesting an update and a return call. I received no response. I called again on Tuesday, August 4, and left another message. Again, no response. Over the course of the repair, I called the dealership approximately eight times and repeatedly left messages asking Jessie to return my call. I did not receive a single return phone call. I want to acknowledge Jeffrey, the service department operator, who did his best to provide whatever information he could during my repeated calls. Each time, he assured me that he would ask Jessie to contact me. Unfortunately, that call never came. Finally, on Tuesday, August 18, I received a text message informing me that the vehicle was ready for pickup. While I was certainly happy to finally receive the vehicle, it had now been approximately three weeks since I purchased it--a vehicle I specifically purchased for my elderly mother. Instead of being able to enjoy and use the vehicle after purchasing it, I spent those weeks repeatedly trying to determine its status. When I arrived to pick it up, Jessie was at lunch, so I was unable to speak with him directly about my experience. That is why I am contacting management now. I understand and appreciate the convenience technology provides, including automated text messages and digital service updates. However, technology is not a substitute for basic customer service and personal communication. The repair itself is not what ultimately shaped my opinion of AutoNation Subaru Carlsbad. Repairs sometimes take longer than expected, particularly when outside specialists are involved. What made this experience unacceptable was the complete lack of communication from my assigned service advisor despite approximately eight attempts to reach him. A brief phone call saying, "We are still waiting on the collision specialist, but I wanted to keep you updated," would have dramatically changed this experience. Instead, I felt ignored after the sale was completed and the dealership already had my money and my vehicle. Unfortunately, the experience has left me with such a negative impression that I cannot recommend AutoNation Subaru Carlsbad to others. I also intend to share an accurate account of my experience through Yelp, Google Reviews, and social media so prospective customers can make an informed decision about where they purchase and service their vehicles. I am sharing this directly with management first because I believe leadership should be aware when a customer experience breaks down this significantly. I am writing this to you with the hope that future customers do not experience the same lack of communication.

We went over some numbers on the phone, he answered all of my questions, and he truly went above and beyond to help me. When my husband and I went in on Sunday, Quincy was unfortunately not working, but Patrick and Tom were available to help us. Patrick was so friendly, down-to-earth, and not pushy at all. We ran into a slight hiccup while going over the numbers, which was not Patrick's fault, and Tom was able to get to the bottom of it. He saved the deal! We were there for only about two hours, and the entire purchasing process was headache-free. We left very happy with our experience. Thank you, Quincy, Patrick, and Tom! Five stars for all three of them! Unfortunately, we purchased the car on Sunday, and by Tuesday morning--less than 48 hours later--the check-engine light came on. The car was still running fine, but I drove it straight back to CarMax at 10:00 a.m. My initial interaction with the first service representative was not great. I wish I had gotten her name. She came across as dismissive and made me feel like I was bothering her or that the check-engine light wasn't a big deal. I tried explaining that I had just purchased the car two days earlier and felt I should be able to have it looked at as soon as possible. Instead of hearing me out, she told me I would need to wait a week for an appointment and might have to pay for a rental out of pocket. After she realized I was unhappy, she directed me to another service representative, who I believe was named Melody. She was amazing! She contacted the Escondido CarMax location and was able to get me an appointment for the very next day. My advice to the first service representative would simply be to listen to the customer and understand the full situation before responding. The only reasons I'm not giving five stars overall are my experience with the first service representative and the fact that the check-engine light came on less than 48 hours after purchasing the car. Although it turned out not to be a major repair, it is definitely not something anyone wants to experience immediately after buying a vehicle.

In 2026, it's unfortunate that this still comes down to the individual -- but unless you work with Lisa, your experience may vary wildly. My family and I visited this dealership after seeing a used, non‑BMW car listed in the $20k range. The listing looked promising, so we made the drive. When we arrived, not a single salesperson approached us. If you prefer to wander a lot without anyone acknowledging your existence, this is the place. But if you're looking for a specific car, the lack of basic customer service is a problem. I went inside to ask for help, and that's when Lisa stepped in. She immediately assisted me, pointed us to the car, and despite already helping another customer, came out shortly afterward to get us set up for a test drive. She was efficient, professional, and genuinely pleasant -- everything a salesperson should be. We loved the car. My wife, who has a Master's in Accounting and handles the financial side of things, took over the conversation. And here's where the experience split in two: Lisa was exceptional. The finance manager was the exact opposite. We had already visited several dealerships where salespeople dismissed or ignored my wife. Those experiences were insulting -- but in hindsight, they made Lisa's professionalism stand out even more. Unfortunately, the finance manager (Jimmy or James -- they used both names) nearly destroyed the entire sale. Here are the highlights: * He openly belittled the car we were buying. Imagine a finance manager trash‑talking the product he's supposed to finalize. If the car is beneath him, why is it on the lot at all? * He was blatantly disrespectful to my wife. She handled it with grace -- "lions don't concern themselves with the opinions of sheep" -- but his behavior was unacceptable. * He didn't seem to know how to do his job. My wife spent ten minutes on Google and uncovered information that made his claims look ridiculous. * He tried to manipulate us with false urgency, insisting we'd lose the car if we didn't jump through specific hoops. Another quick search proved he was bluffing. * He gave us incorrect information about the vehicle, apparently assuming we hadn't done our research. * He promised a discount on the Dent Removal package, then conveniently ignored it when it came time to sign. * He clearly didn't want to work once he realized we weren't financing through him. We had cash and only took a small loan through our own bank. His frustration was obvious, and from that point on, he put in minimal effort. In short: Lisa made the sale. The finance manager tried his best to ruin it. BMW of Carlsbad should be grateful that Lisa was involved, because without her professionalism, transparency, and genuine care, we would have walked out -- and they would have lost the sale entirely.

One word. Tanner…read more(service advisor). He legit has changed my mind about Lexus. I've had horrible service over the years from Escondido and San Diego. I was going to get rid of my (paid off) car and get into a non Lexus lease because I was getting frustrated and annoyed with service advisors. The Carlsbad location is a further drive and the center seems older. But I can tell you it was WORTH IT because of Tanner. He was upfront, honest, and knowledgeable when I first spoke to him. I needed brake pads and possible new rotors. I just trusted him when he said to first pay for the brake diagnostic (I think it was like $59.95?) and they'll know exactly the issue to see exactly what needs to be done. The fee will go directly towards any service and it wasn't a loss as I knew for sure my brake pads were worn badly. The loaner department was also quick and efficient (I think the guy's name was David?). He got me their newer 2025 RX to the loaner and I totally understand why they give Lexus loaners as I emailed tanner to say hey wait don't do the service as I may just trade in the car (kinda half joking here). But I know which car I'll be getting in the next two years now. The brake service was PERFECT. I didn't need new rotors (yes!!) but was super close to it (as i expected). I also decided to get a full interior/exterior detail for the car (haven't had it since owning it so it was much needed). I am back today for the alignment (got the wheels at Costco few min away as their 4 tire special beat Lexus). Hopefully alignment went well but I wouldn't expect anything less at this point with Tanner and his team here. Thank you Carlsbad Lex!

It seems that they rig it so that after market monitors can't be linked, so that you have to pay for the obscenely overpriced Lexus monitors. Lexus monitors cost $250 each. What does this nearly 400% markup get you? Do they shoot out colorful fireworks while you drive? They are freakin tire pressure monitors. I guess gives you an idea of how much they markup everything else in their service center. How do they arrive at a 400% markup? I mean, I'd bristle at 200%. Ridiculous. They can do it because my dumb ass buys their car and brings it there for service. Absolutely love the car. Hate the feeling of being a sucker every time I service the car. Review for AutoNation Hyundai (Oceanside, CA)…read more Best car buying experience I've ever had! I was in the market for a new vehicle and received a call from Brian Wood. He was genuinely nice and helpful over the phone, which immediately made me want to come in--unlike the Toyota Sienna dealership I called, where they sounded like they had a line of customers around the corner and I was just another number. When I arrived, I met Freddy, who was great and showed me several cars. The first one I liked had light-colored seats, so I asked about a dark interior option. He brought me to a higher trim that was painted in olive drab green -- perfect for this Marine veteran! I absolutely loved it. After a solid test drive, we went inside to work out the deal. The team was very upfront about everything. They offered extras like GPS and protection packages, but when I said I didn't want them, they simply removed them (a refreshing change from my Chrysler Pacifica purchase where they told me I had to keep the add-ons). I received my military discount plus dealer rebates that dropped the price by several thousand dollars. Brian was excellent -- he went back and forth multiple times with different buying options until we found the right fit. Then I worked with Moe in finance. He was not pushy at all and worked with me to reduce several items until I was comfortable. I ended up getting the main maintenance package (which was an awesome value -- he even brought the oil change service down to basically just the cost of the oil plus a little labor). The dent protection also sounded like a great deal. I wasn't initially in the tier for 0% financing, but Moe waited until the bank opened the next day and made it happen -- 0% interest and no payments for 3 months. That was above and beyond. The entire process from walking in to driving out took under 2 hours -- the fastest and smoothest car purchase I've ever experienced (and I've bought from Chrysler, Toyota, and Nissan before). Big props to Brian, Freddy, and Moe for making this such a positive experience. At the end, Brian spent a full 20 minutes with me in the car going over all the features and making sure I was set up for success. He even told me to come back anytime with questions. Sure enough, a week later I had an app question and Brian took care of it and even filled up my tank. That's top-tier service! I'm definitely coming back to AutoNation Hyundai for my next vehicle. Highly recommend -- especially if you're a veteran or just want to be treated like a valued customer. Thank you Brian, Freddy, and Moe!
