There is NOTHING quite like getting up early on a Sunday morning to go pick up a curbside grocery order at HEB only to discover that your car won't start. I take good care of my car. I love her like a child. And, you know, grocery pickup. Finding anywhere open to fix your car on a Sunday is hard enough, so the real surprise was when we found RepairSmith, who said they would send someone *to our house*, *on a Sunday*, with the right part in hand and an eagerness to get us rolling again. Ha! I laughed. No way! I insisted. There is no way civilization has come so far that I can get a car repair done in the comfort of my own home, I don't care how advanced the world is. But fellow San Antonians, it is 2023, and your wildest dreams aren't wild enough. I'm sad to report that we did, in fact, have to wake up our buddy to drive us to the grocery store to pick up our order before they put our donuts and chicken thighs back on the shelves, but by mid-afternoon, Hunter was in our driveway, replacing our starter. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and skilled, he complimented our engine (didn't know that was something that would make me feel like a million bucks, but it was!), and most importantly, he had us up and running again by 6:00pm. ON. A. SUNDAY. Y'ALL. Was it more expensive than going to a garage and hoping they can get around to it? Maybe, but not if you factor in towing costs and getting a rental to cart us around when we need to get where we're going. I mean it's not like you can walk anywhere. It's 104 out there, man. We'll probably be getting ourselves set up with their membership because service is everything these days, and this was top quality service. 10/10 would let Hunter fix our car again, as long as he keeps bringing the jokes and telling us how nice our engine is. read more

Joseph Cruise is the technician that I made an appointment with to assess and diagnose an issue with my vehicle. My family and I have had services done by Joseph for years prior to when he started working at RepairSmith and he has always done an excellent job on all of our vehicle repairs. He's very knowledgeable, efficient, and honest. The process to set up an appointment was very simple and quick. I needed an appointment quickly and thankfully Joseph was available the very next day to meet with me for an at-home service. He was prompt, communicative, and professional. He answered all of my many questions related to the diagnosis that i had for him. He emailed and printed out a copy of the diagnosis report for me at the time of service. Unfortunately the repair had to be done at the dealership since they have a specialty tool needed to do the repair that RepairSmith did not have available. Joseph advised me of all of my options and gave me his honest recommendations. I will return again to Joseph for my next repair needed because I trust him and I know that he does great work. Although my truck couldn't be repaired today it was be fault so I can't blame repairsmith or Joseph. He was very helpful and I formative having extensive knowledge specifically about my vehicle. This is the second time I've used repairsmith. They were unable to do the first repair last year but they were able to tell me what was wrong with the car and to no fault of those mechanics helped me tremendously then also. The repair was just to much to not be done in a shop. I fully recommend them even if the repair cant be done for two reasons. 1st the information you could possibly receive is tremendously valuable. 2nd I look at what I've learned from both experiences compared to what I've paid toal and I know it's completely worth every penny. You must go in to this realizing not all repairs can be done in your driveway. Don't get upset if you actually need a major repair that requires a shop and all of its tools. A truck that does hold that much would be to massive and besides. You don't want something like a motor swap or rebuild going happening on your driveway most likely. read more

I have a 2011 Prius that was parked in the garage with a dead battery. The battery access is through the trunk that needed power to access it. After a thorough inspection the technician accessed the battery by lowering back seats and crawling inside with a battery pack and removed panels to check battery. It was dead. Using the battery pack we started the engine, backed it out of garage, and opened the rear trunk door. The technician had purchased a battery on the way so was totally prepared. The dead battery was easily replaced and a thorough checkout followed. All electrical systems were good and we were back in business. Considering the alternative cost to tow, buy a battery, and take it to Toyota for checkout and installation I'd say the cost was competitive. The convenience of home repair added to the satisfaction and the technician, Joseph Cruz, was very knowledgeable, respectful, and competent all through the repair. BRYCE IS AMAZING!!! I was having a couple issues with my "new" car. I noticed a significant difference in temperature from A/C vents. My drivers side was hot, while passenger was ice cold. Bryce was the assigned technician for the job. Now, I can not emphasize enough the knowledge and professionalism Bryce displayed during the entire process. I drive an older Toyota that I've owned for 14 years. I love my car. I have no car payment and I wanted it to continue to run. After the check engine lights came on and stayed on for a couple months and the car ran apparently normally I began to wonder what was wrong. We needed an oil change and a new battery so we made an appointment online. The next day, Hunter came right to our house with a van fully loaded with everything a mechanic needs to do the job. Hunter was incredibly courteous and was open and transparent with everything he was going to be doing with our vehicle. Within an hour, he'd changed out our completely dead battery, changed our oil, and did a check of our fluids and other potential issues. While the cost was somewhat more expensive than going to a regular auto shop, the value was added with the fact that I didn't have to leave the house or jump the car to get there. I'll definitely be using them again in the future for both emergency and routine maintenance especially if the whole crew is as great as Hunter. read more

Wonderful service, Joseph Cruz was an extremely knowledgeable repairman and walked me through every step of the process and explained everything along the way. It was also quite cheap, less than most mechanics shops and they come right to your house. If I could give 6/5 stars I would for Joseph's service, he was incredibly helpful. My only small gripe with the service is that they provide a $25 off coupon for the first visit when they arrive, but unless you go online and enter the promo code before they finish the service it doesn't apply which just makes no sense. Just seems like it's kind of purposely set up to make it more difficult to actually claim the coupon, there isn't really any other reason to not allow me to apply the code at checkout. read more

My car didn't turn on and we couldn't figure out what it was. We tried to jump it and do all kinds of things for it to work, but never did. We got in touch with RepairSmith and they were able to figure out what was wrong with it. Unfortunately, they couldn't do a lot as the battery wasn't responsive at all. Joseph was very attentive and gave us the best advice to get our battery repaired. I was having some issues with my car on Monday and I was able to schedule a mechanic to come out to my home from RepairSmith for the following day, Tuesday. It was easy to schedule and website was user friendly. Mechanic Martin Cardenas was the Mechanic who came out. He called prior to coming to my home. The service he provided was excellent from beginning to end. He was efficient and detailed. Martin showed me what was wrong and showed me that I had dirty coil. While I was trying to play mechanic and tell Joseph that I knew my horn was out because I tested the relays.....he proved me wrong ha!!! Not only did he educate me why I was wrong, but he went out his way to show me that the relay prongs have to go back the way they were. ( I had them in reverse) Each prong has a different function. Soooo my horn wasn't out!!! The relay was. Replace the relay instead of the horn. Thank you. You probably saved me a load of money if I kept trying to play mechanic. read more
