On Porsche Club member's recommendations, I took it to Premier1 and now have taken it there several times for issues covered under the extended warranty. Considering that I do most of my own car work, the guys take the time to explain everything to me and answer a 100 questions. Premier1 takes great care of me and the Macan! Premier1 took care of the coordination with Carmax's extended warranty provider and made the whole process easy, and since Premier1 is in network with Repair Pal, we only had to pay our $250 deductible per visit.

Everything went great, they fixed my AC (I was worried about the cost being super high but it wasn't), changed my breaks, and did a full inspection. I went to Big O Tires to get an oil change a few months ago and they were having a deal to get a full car inspection to see if any work needed to be done. So BOT gave me a quote of $1,459.99 to get everything serviced on my car. I didn't get the work done. Well, my total bill at Christian Brothers was $395.15. I'm not the kind of person that knows ANYTHING about cars so I really wouldn't have known better what parts and labor and everything should cost. I'm not saying Big O Tires was trying to take advantage of me buuuuut I meeeaaan... that's a pretty big difference in price. I obviously couldn't be happier!

My husband, a former employee, was let go for trying to hold the management accountable for their mistakes that they blamed him for daily! I've heard numerous accounts when the management deflected their own shortcomings and frustration out onto their own employees, and undervaluing their contributions. Stealing their customers money by not doing the work they payed for and hide it behind a warranty if it was fixed properly the first time they wouldn't have to hang on tight to the only thing that they do have is their warranty! Their warranty is more like a guarantee, Guarantee your car will not leave their shop the same way it came in, and a guaranteed to see your car over and over again! But it's under "warranty" and their guarantee to see you again! It's time for a change in leadership and the way they treat their employees and customers and change in a way that can "guarantee" the management to foster the culture and put on a pair ()() and have "accountability" and have respect and better communication between employees customers, and the management. In good faith and with referrals, I took my car into several auto shops: Wynn's Automotive, Ken's Texaco, Northside Chevrolet, and Freedom Chevrolet. Ken's Texaco: my car sat in the same spot for 4 days, and I'm pretty sure they never even looked at it. But they didn't charge me anything, which I appreciated. Wynn's Automotive: performed and charged almost $1k of work on my car without asking, and my car died again the day I picked it up from them (they told me to bring it back in, only to charge me again for something else completely, and I left without any solution to the problem). Freedom Chevy: there aren't enough words to articulate the laziness and lack of expertise for this dealer. Northside Chevy: same as Freedom Chevy, and equally disappointing. A trustworthy coworker suggested I take my vehicle to Joe & Rex at Bitters Road Automotive, so that's what I did yesterday. I can honestly & sincerely say that it was one of the best decisions I've ever made. As a single female with no knowledge of car repair, I left with an understanding of why my car kept dying on the road. And I was SHOCKED when they handed me the bill, because they only charged me for a diagnostic fee....because it turns out that the issue was an easy fix (remember, y'all - I had taken my car to four different auto shops, including TWO Chevy Dealerships....and none of them could find the problem). Joe & Rex were aware that I had no knowledge of car repair, and they DID NOT TAKE ADVANTAGE OF ME. I came back later and another woman took down the particulars. I left them the keys and the Jeep. I came back over an hour after that and the Jeep was exactly where I had parked it. Absolutely nothing had been done. I cancelled the order and drove the Jeep over to Ancira (Jeep dealer) off of I-10 West. I was instantly greeted when I walked through the door. I was introduced to a service writer in less than a minute. He went through my list of issues step by step, asking intelligent questions along the way. He was solidly professional. San Antonio Auto Shop is supposedly less expensive than taking the Jeep to the dealer. But San Antonio Auto Shop wanted $95 to read the error code for the 'Check Engine' light on the dash. Ancira quoted $69 for the same task. This is a lesson I've learned in life: you can go to a discounter. And they will often end up costing you more than buying quality from the get go. In this case, the hidden cost was wasted time while the woman behind the counter at San Antonio Auto Shop breezily chatted guns and shooting lessons. Wasted money isn't the end of the world. You can make it back, somewhere further down the line. But wasted time is gone forever. Like the martial artist Bruce Lee said, 'Nothing gives you the right to waste my time.' I will never go back to San Antonio Auto Shop. They are not the focused professionals that they need to be for my hard-earned money and irreplaceable time.

I found Triage Automotive using Yelp Projects late at night. Triage was first to reply very early…read morein the morning, which was surprising to me because I had not expected such an early or quick response. Since I knew, in general, what the issue was going to be, I explained the issue, and we made arrangements for me to being my pickup truck in for a free diagnostic. Mind you, the sun hadn't already come up yet, and Triage was open and running already. The auto shop is tucked away off Bitters Rd between several other speciality garages. The waiting area was a clean and friendly with a wide window looking into the garage where you can see the mechanics at work. There were amenities such as bags of snacks, coffee, a water cooler, and a television. They had immediate availability and were quick to confidently diagnose the exact issue showing me the problem. A quote for the part I needed, as well as the removal and replacement of said part, was written up, and the owner offered to drive me to home or work while the repair was performed. I took him up on it, and he's a great guy. Keep in mind, all of this happened before other auto shops even opened for the day! Jacob, the manager and mechanic who worked on my vehicle serviced it promptly, letting me know status periodically. Since it was a reasonably simple repair, Jacob picked me up early that afternoon to take me back to the shop and finalize the service. My pickup was repaired, and I was back on the road before any other auto shops had even answered my Yelp Projects inquiry. The shop I had previously used for service had scheduled me three days out. As someone who does mechanic work myself and relies on my vehicle, I can confidently say Triage's expertise and urgency in getting me back on the road kept my business running with minimum downtime. The price was fantastic on labor too. Very competitive. I will be recommending them in the future for sure!
