Had mold remediation with jute pad removal & replacement. Tom was easy to work with via email and in person. He / his team did a great job with the interior detailing. They replaced the jute pad, which was likely the source of mold. No visible mold has been present, but I've been reacting to my vehicle (Subaru Forester) for a while and worse in the wet season so figured there was mold. Dropped off at 8:30a; done at 4:00p. On June 1,2022 I paid Autobella $1475.00 to remove mold from my seat belts. Photos are posted. I spoke with Tom Rennie and he seemed very reassuring and knowledgeable about molds; confident that they will be able to remove them. However, he did not tell me that when they are on seat belts, they cannot be removed. He gave me this information only after I complained. Very dishonest. I will post his verbatim reply to me. He also did not let us know beforehand. We picked up the car to find that the mold is still there. When confronted, he made up excuses, lied and put the blame back on us. The worst part, is he refused to give us a refund. We're only asking for half of what we paid, allowing him to be paid for other work he did. This guy has no conscience. I do not recommend doing business with him. P.S. Mr. Rennie, I have asked before and I am now asking again. I want to see the specific language that you keep talking about that clearly advice of any positives or negatives that can occur. And particularly your clear statement about the possibility of mold staining that may remain on seatbelt material. I have not seen such statement because it does not exist. I love this place and my pictures will show you why...I can show you better than I can tell you. I have four kids and bought my vehicle at 2 years old almost 7 years ago. The interior was perfect when I purchased it. After traveling the US in my vehicle with all of my children, my interior was trashed...disgusting. I also smoke in my car. I took it to be detailed because I will start using my vehicle for work. They let me know right away that all the stains wouldn't come out. That's fair, so I tried. I waited almost 7 hours and it was totally worth it!!! Is it perfect, no. It's clean though and I believe they did what they could. My experience with Autobella was more than 5 stars. I had a car that had been covered in my driveway for 3 years (a COVID casualty), and I removed the cover to discover the inside of the car was growing mold. Tom rescued me from this horrible situation! Cleaned all the mold out of the car, got me a new battery, new filter, fixed up the headlights, etc. Excellent communication, fast service, and really knowledgeable. Worth every penny. read more

I took my 2015 BMW wagon here to get the headlights restored. The owner told me their process was to wet sand the lenses, polish them and then finish with a clear coat wrap. My lenses are still potted and they completely lied about the wrap. I could still visibly see the spots still on the lenses. They didn't even tape off where they were working and gouged my clear bra. When I brought this to their attention, it was a complete denial about what they did and what was promised. This was a complete waste of 2 hours and $125 If you can, go somewhere else or ask real detailed questions. Do not trust these guys! read more

I brought in a brand new Tesla Model 3 and he did a horrible job with the window tinting. Caused damage to each door panel and didn't fix what he did. I have an older car that was shipped cross country, from Virginia to Oregon. It had accumulated a lot of dust, pollen, pine needles, etc.Plus an interior that was looking it's age. I couldn't find anyone local I felt confident using until a car repair shop recommended Autobella (sson to be AutoPrada.) Wow! they did a fantastic detailing, exterior and interior. I could not believe it was my car because it looked so good! They did an absolutely immaculate job, inside and out. They did a beautiful job on the trunk interior too. I feel they charged a fair price for the meticulous job they did. The appointment process online was flawless, they accommodated my schedule with no problems. They sent polite, clear reminders ahead of time.All of the staff were courteous. The billing process is online also, very efficient. Autobella staff were waiting for me at 9 am, and by 4 pm I had my car back. Before I say anything else - There is no chance you get anything but a 5-star experience from Tommy and Autobella. Any review that says otherwise is either not an actual customer or it's a competitor. Tommy came out to my house today at 9:30am and took a vehicle that I hadn't cleaned in years and made it look brand new. He shared details along the way of ways I can protect the car better and a few tricks he uses to keep things looking clean and nice. I talked with him for a while today, he used to have a storefront and now does all his business by mobile appts and at your home. Him and his son did an ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC job, our car is spotless inside and out. Saying it's worth the money is an understatement. I truly do not believe anyone leaving a bad review, he went above and beyond what he said he would do. I have used yelp for over 15 years and written maybe 5 reviews, but this one is worth my time. Autobella is the gold standard in Portland and there is no reason to use anyone else in this city if you need your vehicle detailed. Whoever was cleaning my car that day stole my new state parks pass from my car. The night before I cleaned out everything except a few things in my glove compartment. I intentionally left the pass there to not lose it. I also checked the bag of stuff I removed on the off chance I was having amnesia, and it was not there either. I reluctantly emailed the owner and he said it was likely misplaced during the cleaning and he would reimburse my for the pass. I am still waiting on that check. So $575 for the cleaning and $30 for the missing item. I think I try somewhere else next time. read more

UPDATE: after a negative review the owner of this business has contacted me from 2 different yelp accounts. (one gave himself his first review, 5 stars) that alone is against Yelp policy and to me unethical. I can see that he has again violated Yelp policy by posting another self review of 5 stars. His initial review was taken down since he started contacting me but contrary to the owners allegations, I see my review is still up. Also contrary to his accusations sent to me from both of his accounts, I did take my car to him and in the true spirit of what freedom of speech and what this forum is all about, (even though I am not a TRUE yelper as Tommy says) I am expressing my feelings which are contrary to what Tommy believes: "According to me. I control all of the media in this business, not you. " then he goes on to detail more of his thoughts on freedom of speech/expression "This is the problem with this type of public controlled media, YOU have to much." so essentially he wants to control anything that is said about his business? Since he has continuously accused me of being slanderous, a liar, and malicious I feel obliged to further inform you fellow yelpers of the ongoing messaging and situation. While I do feel that the positive reviews may have come from some very good service provided by Autobella, there are serious quality control issues at best. Tommy is obviously not doing all the work himself. How can he know what is happening. When I picked up my car he was not there, only an employee that was working on my car. Instead of being aware of the fact that unfortunately you might not always receive quality from your workers, Tommy is taking the high ground and doing his best to keep the image of his business. I went here after seeing they were recommended by a few other local businesses and a few online reviews from other sites. I got the best detail package, paint polish, buff, touch up and 3 dents to be removed. The total was $425 and it was a COMPLETE rip-off. First off I was going out of town the next day and told to drop it off in the morning first thing (appointment was made, this was not a call in the day before) and it would be ready that evening. I received a call in the afternoon asking to be able to keep it overnight and I knew I was in trouble. When I told them I needed the car they told me it would be fine and to come by a little later When I arrived it was dark out so it was hard to see what exactly had happened, It seemed to look really nice. When I got home, I finally got to looking at it in the light I noticed alot of the wax was on the black plastic of the car, some of the wax was not buffed, the paint touch up was not very good and looked like someone had done it with a qtip, the trunk liner was all damp and in some spots wet, there were greasy fingerprints in the trunk, some of the paint was never polished and there were still lots of paint swirls, they must have pressure washed the engine bay since there was now condensation inside my headlight housing and the angel eyes (rings on BMW) were burnt out. They obviously were behind and then rushed this job to get it done. When I called they were really defensive, said that there was no way they could see all the wax since it was night time, that there was no way that they got water into the light and overall just making excuses for themselves. You could tell that this was their usual way of dealing with any problems, I can't support any business that will fail to acknowledge that they could make mistakes or overlook certain things. They need to deal with it properly and courteously. Their solution was to bring it in and they would take a look at it and see if there was really a problem. I use YELP for almost everything but this is only my second review. I own and operate several vehicles, (fleet & personal), and work in an industry that most certainly gives not only the outside but the inside of my cars/trucks a workout. I have gone through many detail companies over the last ten years in the Portland area. Most were referred by somebody who knows somebody. As the saying goes, you only get one chance to make a first impression. I pulled in to the lot of Autobella Northwest, (after following a cement truck on I-5 throwing rocks against the front of my brand new 750IL that has less than 1500 miles.) Needless to say, my blood pressure was through the roof. I met Tom, and he was AWESOME!!! He was calming while in the midst of a frantic guy who was completely losing his mind. DO NOT GIVE THIS PLACE YOUR BUSINESS. They backed out of honoring their Living Social vouchers because "too many people waited until the last two months and we can only fit a certain number of cars on our property at a time" sorry, then don't sell so many vouchers. Really? Blaming the customer? Good call, jerks. I have been very impressed with other companies' policies to schedule their Living Social/Groupon clients beyond their expiration dates due to overwhelming numbers and packed schedules. Not one other company, so far, has blamed the customer for "waiting until the last 2 months." As this voucher expires at the end of December, it is my understanding that it would be my prerogative to wait until this month to schedule it, when my car needed the cleaning and I was able to finally fit it into my schedule. read more

I'm not sure, but three stars might be too generous... It took two phone calls and five emails to schedule an appointment. Maybe it was my Groupon that made me less important. After three weeks of trying, I was finally able to schedule an appointment (which required some fairly major schedule adjustment on my part). I was able to drop off my car at 8:15am. I was told then that they were running a special which would allow me to have all of the car's dings removed for an additional $100. This combined with my Groupon meant I would pay $169 to have all of the dings removed from three of the doors of my car. There were probably a total of 8-10 dings, so this seemed like a fantastic deal to me! After dropping off my keys I was told that the car would be done around noon and that I would receive a text when it was ready to be picked up. I walked across the street, grabbed a coffee at the great little coffee shop there, and waited...waited...waited. At 3:00pm, at which point I was pretty annoyed, I finally walked back to see what was causing the delay and found that my car was quite done, and probably had been done for a while. The results were great, although it was simply ding removal - I could still see, and wipe off, the dust ring left by the little tool they use to remove them. Other than that, the car looked great and I was definitely happy with the results. I still think I got a great deal, which is why I went with three stars, rather than one or two. Suggestion: Hire someone with customer service skills/experience to schedule appointments, speak to customers, explain details like "cash or check only," and to notify customers when their cars are ready. read more

I don't know if they are still in business or not, but T Rennie (the owner) is a liar and a scam artist. If he pops up with another business, stay away. Do not do business with him. He damaged my car, promised to fix it, and then ghosted. I'm now trying multiple pathways to get reimbursed for the damage, including small claims court. So far, serving papers seems to be impossible. One of the business addresses has been demolished, and the other is empty. As an expert in getting cars dirty, I've realized there are two types of detailers: the cheap option that gets you in and out as fast as possible, and the more expensive option that takes longer and gets better results. You generally know what to expect by how much it costs. You don't go for the $99 special expecting miracles. Unfortunately auto bella seems to combine to worst parts of both, charging high prices for low quality. I've had other details for less than half the price that looked the same. I've also had some details in the same range that were hugely better. I've also spent a lot more, but I also expected a lot more in return. I picked up my car (from someone who did not speak english? no comment, just fact) and the interior was a little greasy for my liking, but it was clean. Exterior was clean enough too, but there was some wax residue left behind, and you could clearly see the path of the rotary. Overall the car looked clean, a beautiful 15ft job. But for the price, I was expecting a 1-2 ft job. read more

I brought my Honda CR-V to Burning Man this year, and I waited too long and ran out of momentum to clean it out myself. The car still smelled like sweaty desert, and the entire interior was caked with dust. I began to worry that the playa dust, which is fairly alkaline, would start to eat away at the upholstery, so I decided to splurge and get the thing professionally detailed. Autobella looked like the place to go, so I went with my gut. I almost went for the complete detail, but I decided at the last minute to save the $100 and just do the interior. I am totally pleased with the results. $200 still felt like a lot at first, but the absolute, utter cleanliness of this car makes up for my laziness. I am glad I didn't do the exterior, though. I showed the owner my car that had clear coat scratches and significant paint chips from scraping a wall. He said the scratches should come out and the area would look 95% better. While the paint work was adequate, none of the scratches appeared any better. The owner said that was all he could do. As a professional detailer Im pretty sure he knew if the scratches would come out and he basically told me whatever he thought I would want to hear. He told me it wouldnt be able to see the damage further than 2 feet. I can still see the damage at 10 feet. Basically the owner will tell you anything you want to hear just to get you in the door. Dont take your car here for scratch/paint repair. Wasted money! read more

Last minute decided to get the outside of my car details. I was super excited when they finished (2 hours) and it was sparkling new looking and they had been able to get out a lot of the scuffs and scratches! It feels super smoother and the polish looks perfect. I definitely got exactly what i asked for and at a good price. Highly recommend. The detail was 4 stars (more on that later), but all my parking change was stolen and they threw away personal belongings like paperwork, booklets, and receipts that were in my console or tucked under the seats. The owner gave me few bucks for the stolen parking change, but I didn't feel he acknowledged the seriousness of the situation. He was more motivated to re-spin what happened to preserve his reputation. He lost my trust. If they need to move stuff to clean, either put it back or put it in a bag and return it to me. There is no excuse for missing and stolen belongings. Regarding the detail: The good -Solid work, clean interior and exterior. -Nice buffing and wax job. -If you notice something they missed, they'll go back and fix it. -Windows and rims gleamed. The bad -Expensive ($225 for a full detail after a $25 discount) -Several hours late from when they said it would be ready -Had to ask the detailer to wipe off some obvious buffing wax residue and remove sap from my hood. -Had to return second time after I looked in the back cargo area and there was lots of missed dirt and dog hair. -Tricky areas between seats still had lots of stuff. -Their site makes them sound like die-hard environmentalist, but after several weeks my car still smells toxic. -Lots of oily cleaning residue on dash, console, and my sunglasses. read more

Called at 905 am, I was able to leave my car all day no problem which was one of the things that they would need my car until 2. However the price of the detail was $279. The man on the other line stated that they don't do any express details. In other words they only offer one price and one type of detail, so if your budget is in almost 300 don't go there. So if your car isn't terribly dirty just needs to be vacuumed and wipe down this is definitely not the place to go. read more

Reeally a rip off. After explaining I had one car and needed it for work, it was agreed that the car would be dropped of at my place in the evening. It wasn,t and there was no call. Finally I reached them, and the owner said they got busy and could bring it the next day. I said ok, let me know when they arrived and I would check the work. It gets worse from here. The next day I got a call and was told the car was in the driveway and the keys were in the console but they didn't have time too wait for me to check it so they left !!! The reason they couldn't wait a minute for me to come out of the house was clear the minute I saw it. It would have been better to go through a drive through. For my $400 there was still gunk in the rough troughs, bird spots on the hood leaves and stuff in the window wiper places. The interior till had dirt all over...unbelievable. Small paint scratches had not been buffed out as agreed. And the way the owner just stuck it in the driveway and ran was even worse. I tried to stop payment on my card, but since it was a debit card I could not, it had been run. I took it back the next day and first, the guy said leave it and come back in a couple hours. I said a couple hours would obviously not be enough time for the job he promised. He said fine, come back tomorrow. When I came back again, incurring taxi fees, the car was still not properly detailed. It had been buffed in some areas to the point of messing up the paint, other areas not at all. No paint touch up at all as promised. The owner was not available to talk (no surprise). What a rip off. read more

I bought a groupon deal for $150 for a $300 auto detail. I fully expected to not get anything above and beyond a standard $300 professional detail, but i also expected to at least get a $150 detail... When i picked up my car it looked like i had just waited 20 minutes at the car wash for a "quick interior detail". I had to pay an extra fee for my car being black because it takes an extra step, yet it looked like it had been washed and spray waxed. all of the tiny swirls and minor scratches that any detail shop ive experienced before would have removed were still there. as for the interior, zero DETAIL was done. A very quick interior cleaning is all i got. The carpets were very clean, they did do a good job there, but after one day it smelled like dead rotten meat. not only were all of the details of the interior cleaning missed, but they managed to rub dirt onto parts of the fabric interior that were spotless prior! I was told i would have to bring it back in for part of the service i had ordered, and when i did i told them of my dis-satisfaction. the owner, tom said he wanted a chance to make it right and asked for the details of what i wanted fixed. i pointed out the damage to my car from the buff wheel hitting the back of my mirror and scraping it, and all of the other things that were missed or simply not done, like, all the black trim was not treated, the chrome trim was not buffed and left hazy, and all of the rubber moulding that was left white stained by buffing on to them! So, regretfully i took another day of inconveniently figuring out rides to and from and being with out a car for the entire day, only to find that after having my car for a whole day, the only thing that was done was the initial service that they had me bring it back in for in the first place, dying the leather seats. they didnt even move the seats back to clean the sides of the center console! If you want a quick cleaning of your car, take it to the car wash. if you want a professional detail, take it anywhere but autobella. such a let down. and after two shots at it! you couldn't pay me to go back. read more

Autobella is running numerous Living Social and Groupon ads right now. What they don't tell you is you will have trouble redeeming them. They stopped taking bookings for my voucher (expiring 12/15/11) on November 21st, and stated they had it showing on the website for weeks. If I wasn't trying to book it, how would I see that? It should be in the fine print of the deal. Many businesses accept bookings made BY they expiration date. This place cuts you off four weeks early and says Lving Social is in support of it. I took my 2005 lotus there a few years ago for a detailing and paint chip repair. I had by far the worst experience ever. In the 2005 lotus driver side you have mats that are screwed down. Well they couldnt unscrew the large plastics pieces for whatever reasoning and they tore them out. I was forced to get new mats since the driver side one would slid around now behind the peddles. Then they took all the change in my coin collector. Also they took my running headphones. I confronted them and they said basically i have to take them to court. It was the worst car experience i have ever had. EDIT 1 Yelp showed local companies listed and yours came up. I felt it was a good thing to report my poor experience (yelp works by people sharing poor and positive experience FYI), so i posted what happened to me. I have never posted a few years ago like you just said, i may have made posted a review somewhere else, but this post i just made and i think i edited it once. You could of easily replied with things have changed or showed another way you have improved as a company. However you responded with "You left this same message 3 years ago, and now you just modified the date to current..are you bored ?" Is there an option for no star? This is the worst experience I have had with a business. When I left my car all day at Autobella for the third time to have my window fixed I came to find that it had not been touched all day. The owner was not around when it went to pick it up. Bottom line, I ended up paying a lot of money for a piece of glass and a jacked up door panel. The responses from Autobella continue to avoid responding to the fact that they failed to perform in a workmanlike manner in the repair of my car's window. When given an opportunity to fix the problem they exacerbated the problem by permanently damaging the car. When asked to take responsibility for the mistakes, he responds by blaming the customer. This is a simple issue of whether this business will stand behind the services. In this case, the business refuses to do so. None of that is opinion it is pure fact. I have been trying to make things right and asked for my money back . He refuses to refund me my money stating that he has been in business for 30 years. Bernie Madoff was in business for 30 years, too. That proves nothing. The fact that he claims he remedies other customer complaints raises a serious question on why he refuses to make this one right. As a customer, I acknowledge that a mistake can be made. For me, the strength of a business is how they handle those mistakes. I was told that Autobella stands behind their service. Located in NE Portland off MLK, Autobella details all types of vehicles and trucks. My wife and I tried to get the water spots created from our sprinkler off of both of our vehicles without any luck. We ended up taking our vehicles into Autobella and they got most of the water damage off of my windows and all of the spots off of my wifes. This was a huge improvement. I was also happy with the detail work they did inside of my car, and even under the hood. I plan on taking my car back again later this summer. read more

Great auto detailing. Very professional. The prices are very fair for the service. I've had 3 different cars detailed for selling by Autobella over the years and highly recommend anybody gets a car detailed prior to selling to get top dollar. Autobella will make your dingy car look great again. They even did some minor touch up chip repair. Worst first impression ever. I looked on yelp before I called this place and was wary about all the bad reviews but my dent is tiny and I figured I'd just give it a shot. I didn't even make it past the phone call with this place. I call and Tom answers "hello". I say "hello?" ... assuming I had the wrong number because you usually get a "hello this is ... " when you call a business. I ask if it is autobella. Yes. Ok i have a small dent I need removed and I would like an estimate. SUPER sarcastic: "ooookkaaay... you have to tell me what you have going on first". I just said "wow, terrible customer service" and hung up. He called back and I said I didn't appreciate the customer service and thank you and hung up again. I mean maybe I am just being sensitive but just business 101: answer your phone cheerfully and politely and say the name of your business. duh. [7:39AM] Me: Hi There, The giant tree in my front yard has completely covered my black car with tiny sap droplets. My usual touch-less car wash is out of service right now. How much would it cost to give the car a decent exterior cleaning? How long would it take? Thanks! I just don't trust most car washes because the car already has swirls, etc. [10:53AM] Me: By the lack of response, I'm assuming you can't help me then?
