If I could give a review lower than one star, I would. Calef Auto is a complete rip off…read more Bought a truck from them less than a year ago. Within the first two days of buying the truck, it was having major issues starting up - shuddering, turning off and on, etc. Still under my one week warranty, I called Calef, only to be told rather rudely that it was my problem not theirs and that there was nothing they could or would do for me. I just took it in to get it inspected and was told there are gaping holes in the frame, among a host of other problems that render the truck completely useless. Less than a year after purchase. Obviously I should have had it checked out by an independent mechanic - my mistake which I will never repeat. But does anyone know that in New Hampshire they are not legally obligated to disclose information about the vehicles? These guys sold me a f*cking lemon and knew it and took my money and told me to f*ck off. This place deserves to be shut down. DO NOT BUY.

I will not do business with this dealership! BUYERS BEWARE!…read more I put a deposit on a car at this place, and made an appointment to have it checked out by my mechanic. An hour before it was supposed to be sent up there, they decided that they would not send it to the garage, as they would just "tear it apart" over there, and it would be a waste of their time. When I asked if I could take it to a different mechanic, they REFUSED, and told me that if their 30-day warrantee and an inspection sticker wasn't good enough, then they would not sell it to me. So, take away point: THEY WOULD NOT ALLOW ME TO HAVE A MECHANIC LOOK AT THE CAR BEFORE I BOUGHT IT! If there is a bigger red-flag about a car or dealership, I can't think of one. At first it was that particular garage, but when I asked about going to another, the salesman said they were not going to let it go anywhere at all. And, nothing I said to the salesman could convince them otherwise, to the point where he told me "Look, I don't want to keep going around in circles and get aggravated with you - it isn't going to happen." Seeing other reviews here saying "Have your mechanic check out any car you want to buy here" or that they are a "rip-off", only makes it more clear to me that this is not a dealership to do business with. There are multiple others within a few minutes up the same road - my advice would be to drive on by Calef Hwy Auto.

During the test drive it was an after though to my sales person, Johnny to drive on the highway... obviously if i'm purchasing a vehicle i want to be sure it drives well on the highway? The paperwork was done improperly. When he whited things out on the forms I asked if that would pass at time of registration and he assured me it would (it didn't). I took three trips to the registrar to finally have Dick Poulin send a courier down with the correct paperwork which was only offered to me the third time i called and spoke with someone in upper management. The car itself was okay. When I originally had called about the car, I specifically asked if it had been smoked in. I had a 2 hour drive ahead of me and wanted to ask as many questions over the phone as possible... i was told that it was not smoked in. When I arrived to look at the car, it had in fact been smoked in and you could see cigarette burns around the sunroof and windows. There was also ashes left in the ashtray. It was definitely not cleaned before I brought it home though as promised. It still had french fries in the back from whomever had been driving it before me. I had it thoroughly inspected once I took it home and all things seemed legit to my mechanic. The truck light was out though so my mechanic had to replace that. Other than that everything was okay. I probably wouldn't buy another car from Dick Poulin just because of the troubles, lack of knowledge and the carelessness to even clean a car thoroughly before someone purchases it. It's not a terrible dealership though and the prices are reasonable... just have some knowledge on your belt before going. Goodluck!

I waited in the customer area and went to the front a couple of times. The service staff were joking and using profane language in an area that should have been all about customer service. After the update the NAV system no longer worked. A few weeks later I brought the car back in to get this fixed. They said that I needed to change my whole panel to get this fixed and that I was lucky to have an extended warranty. I declined this and today downloaded software and fixed my NAV system. I will never use this dealership again.

I went to Rochester Volkswagen because, the day after my NH state inspection at a different shop, my check engine light came on (I know...right?) I brought it in for diagnostic and it was determined that cylinder 3 was misfiring due to a leak. They were very transparent about what needed to be ordered and what was potentially necessary. The part was ordered and after an additional appointment for installation, my car was back to working properly. It turned out that it didn't need anything additional. Was this all expensive? Of course. But the point I'm making is they didn't do anything else that wasn't necessary. They didn't lie about the car needing additional work from leak damage. I've learned my lesson. Even if the other shop is innocent, and they likely are, I will not be going back there. It is hard to trust. I will not name drop because I cannot say anything with certainty.
