My car is making a knocking sound on the left side under the fender. I took it to Pleasanton Auto Tech and have them diagnose it. They are very responsive and did the diagnosis with out any charge!! Even showed the area under the car which they believe could be the cause and suggested the replacement to fix it and provided a detailed diagnosis. My experience with Ed's and Bob's bussiness is rather limited and simple - flat tire repairs. Some time ago for Lexus, and today for Tesla. Both times service was quick, professional, and easy going. They know how to put Tesla to a tow mode to lift it up (small thing, but still sayng something). Moreover - Ed inflate my tire near our office where Tesla was left overnight, so I can drive to the shop wihout waiting for a towing company. We chatted about Tesla peculiarities and repair delays while compressor was running. And final touch - Bob did not charge me a dime for flat tire repair (I do not kow why, and they've declined coffee offer from me). I can't say enough good things about Bob! I had an unknown issue with my truck, and it wouldn't start. Got a battery jump from AAA, but it still wouldn't start. I called Bob, and he said he was fully booked and couldn't take a look for another week. I was concerned my truck may be towed away because my truck was parked on the street, in a part of town that limited parking hours during the day. Bob allowed me to have my truck brought in early, so I wouldn't have to worry about the street parking. Now, here's the best part: my invoice was actually LOWER than his initial estimate. LOWER. I've owned cars for 20 years and this is the first time I ever paid less than I was expecting. As a matter of fact, I was certain something like that was an Urban Legend. By the looks of these Yelps they don't even need mine. I bought a 2011 GMC pick up and Bobby helped me with getting the trans fluid changed. He let me know that I really did not need it changed, but if I really wanted it done he would do it. I heard about Auto Tech and the owner Bob from 3 different people that recommended him and his service a few years back. So the next time I needed some work done on my car, I figured I would give him a try. Since then, I have never taken my car anywhere else. This try for several reasons. Honest - First and foremost, he is very honest- an honest car repair place- I know, an oxymoron in this business- but it is true here with Bob. There have been so many times where Bob could have performed additional work on my car and I wouldn't have Known any different. This has happened to me in the past elsewhere, So I recognize honesty here with Bob, as he has had my car at least 10 times for service and repair. Reasonable prices- again, I have never felt ripped off here, I always feel like I got very good value, and a few times the work came back at less than the estimate. You might find a cheaper oil and lube elsewhere, though not by much, but overall I just think his prices are fair, on the lower end, and you are never going to pay for service that isn't needed. Quality- Great service here. I have had my car essentially held hostage at other service places for days and days in the past while they incompetently try to figure out what is wrong. I have never had that happen here. You get your car back quickly, usually same day. And I have never had a repair that is done here resurface at a later time. When it is fixed here, it is fixed. Customer service- Bob is a real low key, sort of soft spoken, very nice guy. He listens really well, takes his time with you, your car and what is wrong or needed- he makes you feel like you are special, an important customer- which I am sure all his customers are to him. Greatest Auto Repair location in the world!!!!!!!! I have a 2005 Chevy Avalanche that stopped runnning one day. I had it towed to a auto shop in downtown Danville. After replacing the fuel pump for $800 they told me that my engine was blown had to be replaced and gave me an estimate of $7,800. After paying them $800 I towed the truck back home and debated to see if it was worth buying a new engine or just donating it to a local charity. My neighbor told me about Auto Tech and told me to go talk to Bob. I went to see Bob and he said it sounded like ti could be fixed. I towed it again, but this time to Auto Tech. Bob figured out that it was a broken vavle spring. $400 and two days later I had my truck back running perfectly. I can;t thank him enough for fixing my truck.
