I just had a bad experience with Autozone at Allen TX. I was waiting in line for service. One young man hurrily walked past me to get his parts checked out. I assumed that he was really in a hurry. But when this young man finished checkout and I was walking toward the cashier, an older South Asian man walked in the door carrying some items to return, cut right in front of me. I was really frustrated and I asked him to wait for his turn. He ignored me like he didn't understand. The clerk did not do anything to right the wrong. Seeing the injustice, I raised my voice on the Indian gentleman. Instead, another clerk stepped in to tell me to calm down. I feel the clerks should respect the orders in the store and not let unruly customers run the show. read more

Brought daughter's car in and had codes read. Supposedly PCV valve bad and cylinder one recorded too many misfires. They did not have the PCV valve in stock. Had to go to O'reillys for that. Came back and had check engine code read again, same thing minus the PCV code. Which by the way on the Volkswagen Tiguan engine a bad PCV valve can throw a cylinder one misfire code. Just swap coil packs and see of cylinder misfire changes, at least you can rule out coils. PCV valves are notorious for going bad in a volkswagon. The car ran better but still had problem. Bought 4 spark plugs and socket, which is special for that type of plug and replaced in parking lot. Drove it, check engine light off. Thank you auto zone for offering all the servicing you do and the parts and letting me fix it on the parking lot. Person that helped me was super helpful and nice. Store was clean and parking lot easy to get to work plenty of parking. read more

I brought my car hear after it would t start and they got me a battery and they offered to install it. The computer said it would take one hour and they guy legit installed it in 5 minutes super happy to do so, and with not additional cost. I was extraordinarily happy! read more

The two stars goes to the young lady that helped me put my air filter in my car. They lost 3 stars because they didn't greet me when I walked in. I walked in the two employees looked at me then continued with their conversation. Luckily I already knew what I wanted and knew exactly where It was. As I was looking at my choices a elderly man walked in and the two employees stopped their conversation and greeted him with kool-aid smiles. They might as well threw confetti while they were at it. I don't recommend this location unless you don't care about poor customer service. read more

I stopped in to have my battery checked and was helped by Angus. He was awesome. He tested my battery and suggested I change it out. I knew it was about time as I've had this battery for several years. He swapped out my battery and had me on the road within 30 minutes. read more

I give a 1, because there is no lower review. These people tried to charge me to drop off oil for recycle. Oil that I replaced with oil from an autozone! I didn't know they were even allowed to charge. I was pretty upset to hear this. read more

I came in this morning to get rear brake pads that they didn't have in stock, but they said they had them at their Carrollton location that could be transferred in a few hours. I paid for the brake pads and hours went by and they never called. I finally called only to find out Carrollton DIDN'T HAVE THEM IN STOCK, and now I have to drive there again to get a refund. Thank you Autozone for wasting my time and gas:) read more

Very disappointed! Broke a wiper blade while on a date night but stopped in to replace real quick.. husband stood at the counter to check out for 10 minutes while 4 guys sat and ignored him completely.. (no other customers around) looked at him, never bothered to address him, tell him they'd be right with him.. nothing.. so he finally gave up, put the wipers down and I'm the time it took me to write this, O'Reilly down the street checked him out and even installed for us! Well, one good thing is that they had an abundance of the German Castrol 0w-30 I was looking for. Unfortunately they didn't have my air filter. They said they would order it for me and call me when it gets in. That was two weeks ago, haven't heard from them since. That's ok, I ordered it online. Good place to pick up some items not normally found at Wally World, but would rather buy online unless I absolutely need it that day. Customer service is spotty, to say the least. read more

Sadly, I expect to get shoddy service at auto parts stores. It can't be possible that a woman - shopping without a man! - might know what she needs or even what she's driving. Went in today to get a gas cap. That's it - a GAS CAP. First the guy "helping me" tried to convince me there was no such thing as a 2WD Jeep Grand Cherokee (what do I know, I've only been driving the damn thing for eight years), but then couldn't find any of the gas caps. Literally...he went to the back for about five minutes and came back empty-handed. He said, "Sorry, I can't find any of the gas caps." That was it. I thought maybe he'd tell me he'd keep looking and call me...or that if I was willing to hang out a little while longer he could keep looking...but...no. He just stood there and stared at me. Finally he said he could call O'Reilly to see if they had one (IF?) and I said, no thanks...I'll check myself. When I walked in I saw a sign indicating we should pardon the mess, that they were expanding in order to serve us better. Indeed. Service can do nothing but improve after my experience today. Drove fifteen seconds east to O'Reilly Auto Parts and got my gas cap, BTW. read more

Two stars is about on par for Autozone actually. It is increasingly common now that the people working in the store have absolutely no automotive experience. This one is no different. Most of the time the sales people hover near the computers helping customers look up parts they won't have in stock rather than checking out paying customers. Last time I unpacked my cart and left after waiting 5 minutes. I decided that for the price of Motorcraft oil and filters at Autozone it would be cheaper to go do any oil change shop or the dealer. Autozone needs to take their own advice and get in the zone. read more

They checked my error codes and gave me the print outs! Nice and helpful when I was there. I didn't feel out of place like I do at some auto places when I go inside - some just don't feel comfortable with women customers. read more

The most disorganized AutoZone store that I have ever been to. I had to go three different times to pick up a part which I paid for in advance and was told that it would be there at that time. Yesterday, my car battery was dead. I was a little nervous come in here. I know nothing about cars and was referred to James at Auto Zone by an office coworker. James knew I was coming in and he tested and confirmed the bad battery results. James patiently described different opinions and warranties. He Recommended the Duralast Gold Battery and had me driving out in 10 minutes. It seems that this store is well managed. I think hid his name is Carl with a beard and glasses? This place isn't even a mechanic shop and I feel safer driving already, they installed it for free and heck, and I learned a few things. Very satisfied and will return! read more

Associate had no knowledge about auto parts. Another guy stepped in to assist, ordered parts for front & rear struts/shocks and they said they would arrive next day by 11:30 at latest. We went ahead and paid full amout for all parts that were on order. We arrived next day to pick up parts only to find, back shocks arrived but front struts were not available, they said they didnt ship. No one bothered to call to tell us that they didnt have the parts we ordered and paid for. Got refund on full order and went down the road to OReily where they had what I needed in stock. The only good AutoZone is to us layely is for batteries, other than that...OReily will be our choice for auto parts needs. read more

Just left 2 minutes ago. (5:20pm - Wednesday evening). Did I get greeted when I walked in? No. Did they help me reach the oil on the top shelf I literally could BARELY reach? No. Did they offer me assistance or even say "good riddance" as I left the oil and walked out to never ever go back again? No. nice going auto zone. Really appreciate the guy behind the cash register gossiping with the man in red in the back completely walking away and ignoring the fact I was in there. No wonder you all have such awful ratings. I went into Auto Zone today because I was having issues with a new battery I had put in. My car just shut off while taking a turn so I wanted to get it checked out. Mr. T. Mesa helped me out and he was wonderful he tried every possible option to figure out the problem. He checked my alternator, battery life and even scanned my codes everything and back as passed. He recommended a few things that may help out with my issue and recommended it could be a sensor issue. Although he didn't figure out the exact issue I'm very pleased that he took the time to run every possible test. read more

I have always got great help here. They let me know if a repair is something I can do or I need to take it to my mechanic. They have replaced a headlight for me. I really appreciate all the help they have given me over the years. read more
