This shop should be shut down. Heres what happened to me, and every bit of this is 100% true, even if it does seem like a joke. I have a 2010 Ford Expedtion with an intermittent cam phaser issue, and I brought it to Wan to fix it, and he did the diagnostic on day 1, and even repeated me to what I told him at the jump- I need new cam timing adjustment. He tells me the price and I give him permission to work on the vehicle. He calls me back the next day at the end of business and tells me he was a little behind and wasnt able to get to it, but tomorrow he will be done. The following day he calls me around 9 am and tells me I need a new engine, and they dont do cam timing adjustments. WE JUST AGREED ON A PRICE TO COMPLETE THE WORK. WHAT?!?! So he tells me to come get the truck, hes only going to charge me for the diagnostic, and so I go and grab the truck later that day, and this is when stuff gets interesting. To preface, my driver window had a wonky motor, but it went up no problem, but sometimes instead of going up, it went down, but eventually always went back up. So I arrive at the Kwik Kar place at 305 Legacy Drive in Plano to pick up my truck, and as Im walking to my truck I notice my driver window is down, which its never down, ever. I walk to my truck, I get in, I try to put the window up, and all I hear is chewing, or what appears to be peices of something at the bottom inside the door. I bring it to Wan's attention, and he tells me that he did nothing, which is completely false. I know exactly what happened. He took it on a test drive after he "fixed" it, even tho he said his shop doesnt do that, even after he gave me a price, and got the green light to do the work, and while on the test drive, he lowered the window, and it started to act funny like it normally does and instead of leaving it alone, he gets one of his lackey's to just PULL THE WINDOW UP, destroying my windows motor!! Now my window literally will not stay up, my truck still runs like shit, he said he changed my oil, and billed me $120, but I confirmed its still got the same oil filter and old oil as I did the oil change myself when I got home. So not only did Kwik Kar not correct my problem, he broke my window, and scammed me for $120 which I will be filing a dispute on. This peice of trash, Wan, knows exactly what he did to my window, and the fact he tried to scam me. Something tells me hes going to be going on an extended vacation here reaaal soon. BMW A*hole driver here who doesn't trust anyone, especially the BMW dealership. This place was walking distant conveniently so I took my car here first to have my thermostat replaced which they were able to do same day. Paid about half the price I would have paid also. Second time there, they did all four brake pads in about two hours, same day. Since I was respectful and grateful they gave me a disc. Not saying this is an automatic, but I bet if you were to give them a little trust like I did you won't be disappointed. Ask for Jason, he's the man. 10/10 would recommend. read more

BEWARE! BEWARE! BEWARE! My car simply needed an A/C charge. The KWIK KAR facility in Plano on Custer recommended to talk to the Mechanic Eduardo at the Preston facility. When we arrived, we asked to speak to Eduardo to discuss the symptoms. The receptionist stated that Eduardo would not be able to work on the car today. We planned to drop the car off for the week. I simply wanted to talk to the mechanic to get reassurance that he agreed my assessment as a Mechanical Engineer. The receptionist was rude and disrespectful. Eduardo finally came over, I questioned him about the A/C issue. He said just a minute and walked away. We waited for a while for someone to respond. I then asked Eduardo if I should pulled the car in, he shouted something and ignored us. I inquired again. He shouted again. No one showed up or said anything. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!!!!! RUDE!!! UNPROFESSIONAL Temperatures here are over 100 degrees. A/C in critical especially if you are a senior citizen with a heart condition. We finally just left feeling disappointed and rejected. Had to write this before I forgot. Just got back from getting an oil change, and it being my first time there you never know. I was in and out in 15 minutes. Jose took care of it all. You always worry about up sell pressure, but they will "recommend" what you need and not shove it down your throat. Me not knowing that every 15k-20k you need a fuel injection service, I've added it to my list and will be back next weekend. The guy leaving in front of me they knew by name which means he is a loyal customer. That is a great thing to see! I have just found my new shop for my car. Great guys and great work. Worst auto shop I have ever been to. Worked with ast manager Noah. Had alternator replaced. Took 4 days and was difficult to get a call back to check when it would be ready. When I went to pick it up Noah was not there and they tried to charge me more than double what I was quoted. Manager Robert said he would have the director call me. Never received a call and I have called back and left a message. When I got home realized they had broke the struts that hold the hood open as well. Ast manager even said this place has been terrible since new ownership. Take your business somewhere else. read more

I have been Kwik's loyal customer for quite a while. The staff was usually very friendly and used to help me a lot with my cars. Till the last couple of days and what happend is truly horrible. Three days ago just half an hour before they close I brought my car to Kwik Kar Lube and Tune at 305 Legacy Dr, Plano, TX for a simple oil change and while chatting with the manager, I agreed to check the engine for misfire (although there was no engine light on). While mechanic was removing the spark plugs from the engine, he appeared to damage one of them and a large piece of plug's ceramics isolation fell inside the cylinder. I was standing next to the car's watching his operations and witnessed this myself. I am a technical savvy person having engineering degree so I do understand how damaging it could be when you have a foreign object like tough ceramics inside the combustion chamber while engine parts are moving. I told the mechanic about this but he assured me that this will be removed before installing the new spark plugs back. Apparently he failed to extract all the debris because when he installed the new plugs and started the engine it made a very abnormal sound, started shaking very badly and failed. I believe that the piece of ceramics stuck under the valve so when the engine was started the piston hit the valves. Now the whole engine requires the expensive repair or cylinder head replacement. For obvious reasons I cannot take the car from the service. What's worth to mention, they already charged me for changing the oil and spark plugs replacement, so I do have a paid receipt for $270. Once both manager and the mechanic realized what had happend they changed their rhetoric asking me to keep my car till tomorrow so they will investigate what happened. The next day I received a call from the mechanic where he said that the engine repair would cost me $2200-$2400, but Kwik would split the charges in half, with me owing them $1100-$1200. Have you heard anything about body shop would suggest you splitting the charges? I have not. This is nothing but them implicitly admitted their fault. I told them that this is 100% their fault, and that they damaged my car while servicing it, hence this is their liability. The next day when I came in-person the manager said I either pay full price (now it's corrected to $2600) or pay a diagnostic fee and take the car out. He said that car was "just like that when you brought it in" and they have nothing to do with it. Then he just walked away and kept running out from me while I was there. I went to Ford authorised dealership service and showed them the quote I received from Kwik. Ford representative said the car cannot be operated in such condition and said that with such damages they would go and replace the entire cylinder head. I know such issues happen to the best of us. But when and if such situations happen, especially in front of the customer, the company should have the strength to admit the fault and fix the issue at no cost to the customer. In my situation with the mentioned store I have been treated with abundant disrespect, lack of dignity and a second-class person attitude. My car is equipped with the dashcam, so I can prove all what I stated above with the video/audio recordings and the paperworks. I have a couple of hours normal driving video visiting different places right before entering Kwik's store. I have some during-service videos showing the start engine process. Stopped in to get some air in my tire. I know this is not what they do here, however a nice young man name Robert came out to help me. I've been to other Kwik Kar's and they charge you to put air in the tire. But not Robert, he was very nice and he also treated me like there was nothing else going on but my problem. Not only did they not charge me, but Robert showed me how to check my tires and put air in ( at my request) so I wouldn't feel so helpless. Thank you Robert for great customer service! read more

Long story short, I did an oil change there some time ago, it looked all legit, but an oil indicator turned on after 20 or so miles. I stopped to check the level, and I was low on oil! Zero stars! Beware of Fraud at Kwikkar! I paid ~$1000 for a new battery and alternator at KwikKar 305 Legacy,Plano last week. Drove car 75 miles and lost all power again which was original problem. Had car towed for second time - to a Firestone as I was out of town. Firestone said alternator had not been replaced and new battery was completely dead. Could not be charged. Firestone replaced the battery and alternator and I paid extra to keep the alternator core. It is the original alternator with Toyota sticker and date code that matched date for vin on my car. It is the factory original part! Some confusion about who actually owns that shop now. Asst mgr said they were acquired by speedy auto, however charge on cc went to KwikKar and all signage is KwikKar. Manager has not been there and will not call me back. Thank goodness for my credit card company who is dispute it. If you need auto service, you might want to go elsewhere. read more

I visited this location for a simple oil change. Shortly after inquiring about the cost of an oil l accepted the charge an went inside to wait for my vehicle to be repaired. After assessing the condition of my car I was approached by Matt the Manager who informed me of two additional services that could potentially improve the functionality of my vehicle. Initially I declined I explained that I've been impacted my COVID 19 AND recently LOST MY JOB. The manager MATT told me he understood and went to complete my repair. So from my understanding I would be charged: $34.99 for oil change $10.99 for oil filter $110.00 for oil flush So $160.00 at the max.. so why did I pay $207.00 No my problem is there were additional charges on my reciept!!! after I'd just explained I'm not in a financial situation to pay more at the moment. There are misc sales fees, disposal fees, and misc sales fees.. these were not explained to me.. the cherry topper is: once my card processes MATT asks if I'd consider going to donate plasma. In that moment I felt so many emotions errupt from my soul. I did not solicit his opinion or ask for options to supplement my income. That overall experience was demeaning and uncalled for. I had my car towed to a Kwik Kar I have used in the past. It use to be privately owned, and operated. I guess the previous owner retired and sold it to Kwik Kar. Hoping it would have the same level of service, I took my car there. Bought a new battery. Problems started happening. Took car back. Manager told me battery was fine. Yesterday, car would not start. Dead, dead, dead. Had it towed to this quick car. Left keys. Left my info. This morning. Started calling at 8:00. Phone busy. At 11:00 I had a friend take me to the shop. Their phone system was down. Manager had never called me on his cell to tell me they could not fix the problem. No mechanic. Manager never called me, not all day. Tow truck comes. Tow truck driver looks at battery, tightens a screw or two, jumps car, and it starts. Manager never checked to see if screws were tight. Manager never called me. It was very obvious the employees were disgruntled with the manager as well. Never going back. read more

Scheduled additional work to be done with them after an oil change, and after my truck threw another code and after further inspection, discovered they didn't do most of the work I'd requested. They added an ignition coil without authorization, and had my truck over a week. Over $700 later, I've spent over a month trying to get them to address it from the manager to the owner, and no one will even respond to me. DO NOT GO HERE FOR ANY REASON!!! I had a terrible noise coming from underneath my car... it took me almost a month to do something about it. I wasn't sure what was wrong with my car so I couldn't shop around for the best price. The first time I tried to take it on Sunday but one of the guys said the mechanic was not available and that I would have to call ahead for him next time. I came in, they examined my car, quoted me a price, and allowed me to make a decision if I wanted to get it taken care of with them. I could have shopped around at this time but being in my desperate state I fully agreed to the repairs. John quoted me an hour... when the wait time was actually almost 5 hours. This wouldn't have been a problem if I had nothing better to do but I had to get back to work. John was apologetic and he offered me a couple of discounts for my hassle which was greatly appreciated. He replaced my struts and my car is noise free! I'm not sure if this is the cheapest option for mechanic work but the quality will speak for itself. read more

The service here is nonexistent. I walked in and the guy behind the counter was helping a customer, but when he was done helping her he immediately walked outside. I waited for about 5 minutes and looked through the window to see what was going on and some of the guys were just smoking a cigarette and not even doing anything. Took my car in to have a OSS(output speed sensor) changed because I had indications it had to be reset. It has happened about 7 times after 12 years of ownership and a simple of and on of the ignition switch resets for a couple of years. Given a quote of $1086.00 and I thought that was expensive but go ahead. Your car is ready, come get it. I paid in good faith as they said all was good. I started up and the car started to shake and the check engine light stayed on. I shut down immediately and started to walk to the office. The mechanic and manager were already coming out like they were watching to see if I noticed the car was messed up. I said the car is broken, the engine light is staying on and its never done that before. The young kid who did the work said oh yes you have 2 bad coil's. They knew but were going to let me take the car. For $700 we will fix that. Next day, oh the new code for PCM has come up. Oh it was a Ford recall in 2014. Went to Ford and found this was incorrect. I get an offer of....we will give you $150 off the cost of PCM repair of $1300. Great deal huh! So now we are nearly $3000 and still going. If they replace the PCM what else will break. The young kid they put on the job said he did not know as much as the other guy so had to ask him how to do things. The manager offered to tow the car but where. I drove it there but now the car is only towable. As a customer coming here, I hope this helps you save your car. Everything goes 5 star when it is a straight forward fix but anything real tech watch out. They will tell you they went by the book and that is ok. It is not our fault. We were told the warrantee would last 2 years but I never got off their lot and they are not fixing it. You authorized the repair. Now I know it was my fault because I did that. This has been sent to BBB to resolve this issue and I spoke to the manager and made an offer. He would not let me speak to the owner as was not allowed. I am still trying to figure out....bring it in and we will have it fixed for you...was that sarcasm, trying to figure that one. read more

I had trouble with a fuel pump in the midst of a cross country trip and had to have my vehicle towed to Kwik Kar on Legacy. I dealt with the shop manager Tim who was very helpful, expeditious and kept me appraised of their progress all throughout the process. I was really in a pickle and Tim was very accommodating and performed the scope of work almost immediately and to my satisfaction. I don't live in Texas and am not familiar with the Kwik Kar brand but I do know that I would recommend Tim and his crew at the 305 Legacy Ave location in Plano for any and all of your vehicle needs.
