First of all, the "manager" was not kind, respectful, knowledgeable, and is costing Auto Zone MAJOR Expense. I had an email and printed receipt from the Stockdale Auto Zone #1603 and Iker professed manager of Rosedale Auto Zone #5336 handed me the truly wrong more expensive model of Noco charger. $139.99 plus tax. And the one we purchased was $99.99 plus tax. It was VERY DUSTY dirty box; I asked politely for him to please wipe off the box. He put a couple fingers on top of the box and that was it. It was not improved. No greeting, no comment, and no politeness. He turned and left. I did not realize that he had given us the wrong model. I took this home. Quite upset and very perturbed of his ineptness. And when I contacted to let him know of his grave error, he blamed all others involved. Never apologized until I asked for one. Time for a oil change in my 1949 Willy's Jeepster.i usually do it myself but I was lazy and it's been a couple years I don't drive my Jeep very often.The nearby lube and oil change shop didn't have the oil my Jeepster required. I headed over to AutoZone on Rosedale Hwy. I haven't been here in a while, this store has all your auto parts, accessories you'll need. Mike greeted me as I entered and asked if he could help. I told him I needed 5 quarts 30 wt non detergent and a filter I had a part number for the filter. Mike was great super helpful friendly He went across the store came back with my 5 quarts then he went to a computer behind the counter punched in numbers and he said, "Got it!" Mike was back in a flash with my special oil filter. The price of oil has gone up we all know, but I haven't bought any in a couple years 6.49 a quart WOW!!. Mike at checkout applied a discount that I didn't know about he saved me 13.95. Mike provided great service very professional. Bought a new battery on December 3rd and now December 12th. Since replacing my battery car doesn't seem to hold charge went back in to store. 2 people currently working with the store absolutely dead. I parked in front of store. Glass windows. Can clearly see my car out front. Asked if they could do a curtesy check on the battery and or alternator since I just bought the battery. Manager ERICK said I'm sorry I can't check your battery because I can't leave another person in here alone. I literally drove about 30 minutes away since I purchased battery at this location and was informed by previous manager who was extremely helpful that I could come back and have it checked. I mean come on you have glass windows for crying out loud with a grown man inside. All you had to say was excuse me I'll be outside helping this gentleman for what I'm sure would have taken no more than 2 minutes to check. terrible service, I literally stood there for more than 30 mins waiting for someone to open the spray can section because I wanted to buy a few on them and the older guy that was there just looked at me and I asked for help and he straight up ignored me he was just walking around the front as the other guy was on the phone with a customer. I had the worst experience. Went in looking for a specific electrical wire. I took in an example of exactly what i needed. The first lady sold me a package. She said this is exactly the same thing. Went outside opened package and it only had connectors on one end. Went back inside talked to another guy. Showed him what i needed. He went to look brought back what i needed but it was too short. I told him it wouldnt work so he told me i guess you need to splice an end on. Told him that can not work need one piece I am holding what I need so it is made. Did he offer to look up on the computer to see if they can order NO. Did he offer any other suggestion. NO. Did he do any research. NO. He just looked at me. I went to Autozone on Rosedale and told the guy at the counter that I had to get jump started the day before and I think that I may need a new battery. he came out and checked it and agreed. THEN! The most miraculous thing happened....he referred me to Wal-Mart. He said that I would save about $30 just by going across the parking lot. I have never had anyone in the automotive industry refer me to another store/dealer/mechanic to save me money! Here is how that went: I guess in order to work here, your customer service skills must be a 1 on a 1 to 10 scale. Not greeted by the female or the guy at the register. They actually kind of looked at me as if I was an inconvenience. You work at auto zone, I get it, but come on, maybe be a little courteous? This is a nicely placed Autozone, again sort of inbetween Bakersfield and Buttonwillow that had some great supplies much needed for folks doing a weekend in Buttonwillow. Pretty great selection of stuff inside, and very friendly employees. We were looking for a tire shop that may or may not still be open at a later time in the afternoon, and it was nice that they tried hard to find us one despite not having any success. Quite unfortunate experience, encompassing an ongoing bad item purchased a year ago. Really, what has happened to quality products, company integrity, and customer service? I'm stumped. This review concerns an auto battery purchased a year ago at an AutoZone in northern California. $79.99, not cheap. It just went out on me three days ago. A year old battery. I remember what a miserable jerk the guy at that AutoZone was who sold me the battery. Really....as if being stressed from having to pay for a new battery isn't enough, without some bratty employee making it worse. Back to the present...took my dead and dying battery in to this AutoZone on Rosedale Hwy, receipt in hand, consternation and dismay aplenty. I implored manager Rudy L. to help me by exchanging the year old dead battery for another. No go, wouldn't budge. And there I went back out into the Bakingfield heat, trying to figure out what to do. Very bothered at the lack of integrity of a company selling me a battery that died within a year. Not to mention considerable anger at their refusal to ensure customer satisfaction, let alone do the right thing. Bottom line, I wouldn't go here. Why pay a lot for crap products and get treated like crap in the process. Beats me. Oh yesterday I got a battery at Walmart for $49.88 which my friend installed quick and easy. Terrible business and worse customer service. Long story short, there was a mix up in my transaction and I did not get refunded $40 when I was supposed to. No big deal right? After going in to ask about it, the employee told me there's nothing he can do since it was "too long ago" (less than 30 days). I asked him if there was a manager I could speak to, and he said not until Monday. He ended up finding the transaction, along with the proof I was not refunded, but still would not give me a refund. I left my name and number with him to have his manager call me (per his request) and have heard nothing back after a week and a half. After not hearing from the manager for over another 2 weeks, I contacted corporate, where no help was received and was barely answered to. If u knew it would be this difficult to get $40 back i would have spent it somewhere else. In the end, after about a month and a half, the manager Jose told me to come in and get my money where it then proceeded to take another 10 minutes in store. He also asked me for a vehicle type because I guess the system requires each transaction to have a vehicle? Which is extremely stupid because it had nothing to do with my car. I told him I had a motorcycle, which he then said was not a vehicle (last time i checked it definitely is). Won't bring my business here again, I think a school of 4th graders could run a business better. read more

I was traveling through town and while topping off my battery I dropped my battery top into a part of my engine compartment I could not get to. I went here thinking they would help me out and pull a lid from one of the dead batteries in back so I could be on my way. Not sure why stores don't sell those lids. I seem to lose them periodically, but maybe I'm the only one dumb enough to do this. Anyway they said no - liability blah, blah, blah - so I called O'reilly's while in Autozone's parking lot who said no problem and went down the street to their store where the counter gentleman already had pulled the top and had it sitting on the counter ready to go. After procrastinating for a while, I finally decided to get new windshield wipers. The store was pretty much empty so I was helped right away. I told the guy at the counter what I needed, the year of my vehicle and model of my vehicle. He didn't ask any other questions. When I was looking at the part number he gave me, he walked over and said, "get either 22A or 22B, but don't get the 22OE" okay.... guess what... I had to come back... my truck uses not 22A nor 22B, but in fact uses 22OE... I bought my last set at another parts store... I think I'll be going back over there next time. read more
