Received fantastic service from Adrian while visiting AutoZone. Had to pick up a new battery and wiper blades for my 2015 Sonata. Adrian went above and beyond and confirmed/tested that battery needed to be changed, removed and replaced battery and even installed my wiper blades. She did receive a small surprise when trying to remove my batter as a rotted dead rat was wedged behind the battery!! Best customer service experience I've had at an auto parts store. Customer service could definitely improve here. I was looking for a fuse for my truck. I went and asked the lady at the front. She could barely get off her phone from texting to acknowledge me when I asked her if they had a certain fuse and showed her a photo she said if it ain't there, we don't have it Pointing back to the aisle couldn't even walk back there and help me so I went back again to keep looking and found it when I came back up didn't ask me anything just told me to use the self check out. Customer service has gone downhill. Definitely here. It's getting pretty ghetto. Employees here always have headphones in like they're listening to music or talking on the phone. I came in to get some epoxy and a battery holder. I also looked for touch up paint but the store was missing my color. There were several (about 4-5) employees working during my visit with only three customers. None of them greeted my arrival or asked if I needed assistance. There was a self-check out but the register wasn't working. While I was checking out, the cash register employee was talking to his 'friend' and not giving me undivided attention. Absolutely the best experience in an autozone ive ever had. Had to walk from jack in the box to autozone as my car battery died and it was unable to be jumped. I went in to buy a new battery of course and Melvin went out of his way to carry and install the battery for me no extra charge and was nice about it. He used my partners multitool and tapped the battery charge back into place which my partner was angry about as it cracked his multi tool but as someone who has bad mobility i appreciate the help so much for even carrying the battery over to my car. ADRIAN IS AWESOME. I went to O' Reillys with my God daughter to get a read on a check engine light. They said it was broken so I took her to MY "go to...Autozone" I called ahead to see if their reader was working. Thankfully, Adrian answered the phone. She said yes or reader is working and we have one to buy or use. Her cheery voice and attitude was a welcome comfort to a stressful situation. We arrived and Adrian was 2 steps ahead of me all the way and that's hard to do as my mechanical knowledge is more than basic. Adrian helped me find and replace 2 blown fuses while she multi tasked and waited on several customers that came in. I haven't had that kind of service with a smile in years. Adrian ran that place like a champ and I have a new respect for Auto Zone. I drive alot so I spend quite a bit of money on my car. Auto zone..give Adrian a raise or promotion because now I will always choose Auto Zone over other parts stores and I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels that way. As soon as we walked in they warned us the floor was slippery because it was just mopped. I appreciate the heads up and show for concern! Very friendly staff and even though we went in 20minuted before closing we were asked if we needed help looking for something 2 times. There's a lot of parking at this auto zone, it's right next to a Safeway so if you have to get some grocery shopping in it's right around the corner. Covid review: Check Engine Light Test was needed on my car- a returning issue for me. I happened to be in this area so I popped in here. I asked the guy at the counter if anyone could check my engine for me. He said because of covid I would have to do it myself. He told me how to use the machine- just plug it in and bring back the reader when it beeped and showed complete. I took the reader out to my car and in literally a minute the test was done. I brought the reader back in and the girl at the front desk gave me a print out of the reading. They have precautions in place as well as plexiglass to protect the employees. I went into AutoZone to purchase headlight bulbs. Being a female I honestly know little about cars other than driving them. Raj the service agent was a hugh help, didn't try to over sell me and broke down the differences between the bulbs available to purchase. Two years ago I tried to get the PCV hose replaced. I spent almost an hour trying to get the right part from the Florin Rd AutoZone Super Store. Nobody knew what I was talking about but wouldn't take time to look at the piece I had at hand or check under the hood. I bought the piece they gave me only to go home and discover it was the wrong piece. Long story short, i had to being my aon to install what they told me was the correct hose. Fast forward 2 years and discover the hose installed collapsed and was too soft to pass the smog test! I went to the AutoZone store in Elk Grove and so happy I did! Raj tried to get me to provide more details but I said I didn't know since the original hose is long gone. He asked if tge car qas was outside and I said yea. He actually took the time to look under the hood, get the real measurement and brought out the correct hose! He even installed it for me! She couldn't complete the rear window install because she was not familiar with the mechanism, didn't want to break it, and advised me to call the specific dealer for help. Hello I was going in to check to see if my battery would hold a charge. The first team member I spoke with told me the charge was very low. He was not sure if it would hold a charge. He said I can buy another battery for $99. I said I will just wait to see if mine will charge. I come back 4 hours later another team member check it said it had zero charge. So it went low to absolutely zero. So I said I will just get a battery. This team member tried to charge me $160 for a battery. Just returning home from our vacation cruise from the Bahamas ! Loaded our luggage into the car at the parking structure at the airport, turned the key only to find out that our car battery was completely dead. Not a click, buzz , or sound of any kind. Luckily for us the parking supervised at the airport was able to give us a jump ! Time of a new battery ! In the past I brought my car to the dealership. They usually charge me for the battery plus instillation . But this morning I decided to check out Auto Zone near my house. As I drove up to the business, I noticed an employee changing someone's else dead battery. So I walked in and found out they will do the install for free ! I was a "Happy Camper!" I've been here a few times now. I've always walked in and head to the counter for a helping hand!! Lol. I won't lie. These newer cars has too many technical little part numbers that's it's just easier to give the sales clerk your car info. Lol. First time was for back brake light bulb. Pretty simple. In and out in a flash!! I was able to replace that myself. The second time was for replacement wipers. The clerk not only found the correct ones, but he was nice enough to install it for me for free!! Woo Hoo!! That's a plus for me!! :-) My third trip was for a new battery!! Yep! I walked straight to the counter. I asked for them to test my battery and he put a smile on his face and checked things out. I knew I needed a battery because I was tired of asking people to jump the car every time I needed to go somewhere. Lol. Anyhow...he found the right batteries and gave me 3 choices and different warranties. Cool beans!! Sooooo....he also installed the battery for me. Hopefully I won't have to do this for another 5 years!! Lol. As far as the overall store....it looks clean and organized. They have some cool stuff in there. Everyone has been really nice. Although they were understaffed and busy, the gentleman Raj who helped me assured me that he'd get to replacing my battery. He was friendly, professional, and did a great job. He even went out of his way to show me how to clean my headlights, which seemed permanently dirty no matter how much I washed my car. Then when they make a mistake hEG take no accountability. I called in to make sure they had specific parts as I was already on the way and they said yes.
