I had a A/C refill can that said if it was brought back empty, AutoZone would give the $10 deposit back. The gentleman behind the counter said he didn't know anything about it and when I pointed it out on the can he said they don't charge a deposit so he didn't know why it would say that on the can. He begrudgingly threw it away after I asked if he could toss it...and I had dropped the deposit refund. I was primarily there for a new battery so the monotone lack of effort was neither here nor there. If you aren't sure what you need, I hope you get better input and knowledge. I've shopped AutoZone for years, I don't think I have ever seen the staff including manager stand around just having personal conversations. Not one team member seemed to care a bit about the customers. When I asked where certain things were, the young lady asked me three times "what?" then why are the boys chimed in and told me the aisle? No one offers any assistance to look for help find or to assist in parking lot there's not much customer service here it just surprising. read more

I walked into the store and the gentleman at the front desk had no interest in helping me. I asked him if he could help me find a spray. I was a familiar with and he pointed me to the wrong aisle. I asked him if there was somebody else that could help and he said he was in the bathroom. I asked if he could point him my direction whenever he was done after about 20 minutes I found the item I was looking for the other gentleman had came out and never came my way. Alexis needs to do his job better. I went in to get some brake pads and rotors and they were the wrong parts. This is the second time this gentleman has given me wrong information. Also, every time I go in, he has this face that he hates life and never greets his customers. Anytime I ask a question he either smirks or responds back in a belittling tone. The one star is for agreeing to come out to my car to check my battery. I have been to this location in the past as it is close to my home. Today I went to my Toyota dealership and was told I needed a new battery. I declined and headed to this location, where I had purchased my battery two years, two months before, and still had the receipt. I approached a young woman behind the counter if she could check my battery without having to bring it in to the store. She was not friendly and seemed somewhat put out but said that she could, though she looked around for someone else to do it. She brought her device out to my car and hooked up the clamps. She pushed buttons on the device, and after a minute or so mumbled "have to bring it inside" and walked away, never making eye contact. I waited a few minutes to see if she was coming back out, then headed back in. She was on the phone so I waited for her to be done with her call, then asked her whether I needed to bring the battery into the store. She said no, that the battery was OK and couldn't be covered by warranty. When was she going to tell me this? Contrast this with the customer service I received at the Yorba Linda, CA location, by Scott. He was pleasant, brought the device out and hooked it up. At first he, too, said I might need to take it inside, but then I could see the engine icon on the device and the evaluation started. He also had me turn on the engine. Everything checked out and I thanked Scott and left. I think that this young woman didn't know what she was doing and faked the the test, then told me something that was not true. She never had me turn on my engine. The worst customer service I've experienced in quite a while. Won't be going back to the Placentia/Fullerton location again. read more

I am not affiliated with AutoZone or any of it's Employees, so there is no conflict of interest here and I don't believe I will take this down or edit it: The store itself was okay and they had everything I needed but...the fill-in manager named Andres Gutierrez was the most rude, narcissist jerk I've ever seen in retail customer service. While I and many others were in the store, he unprofessionally bullied and yelled at another employee standing at the counter who got a "personal" call real quick then hung up on his cell phone. He yelled at him right in front of the customers and made a big scene for him to "just leave" and "I'm calling the general manager and he'll get you fired". Being a manager at an automotive shop, this is NEVER tolerable behavior on the sales floor in front of customers and never tolerable between any exchange with a peer, ever. Poor Judgement! I spoke privately with another customer outside who saw the exchange and also agreed it was poor taste. Apparently, no one in the company likes this Andres guy and they hate working with him and that he just kisses up to corporate to keep his position. This is the closest Autozone to me. I've been here a few times. Every time I come in I feel like the staff does not want to help anyone. They chat with themselves or on the phone either with customers which is fine but at least acknowledge me waiting. Most recently the guy just waved me off even though he wasn't doing anything. Who is training this staff here. The time before the girl was very impatient as I wanted to buy the correct part. I ended up buying from Amazon. This is really a poor excuse for customer service. I will not be back to this Autozone even if I need to I will find elsewhere to go. I went in there looking for oil and a filter for an oil change...simple enough right? Well I don't know anything about automechanics or automotive parts and I told the associate (Violet...saw her name tag) this. I told her "I don't know what I am doing" and "I don't know what to get" all she said was "the oils are in the back and grab 020" ok, once again Idk what I'm taking and grab 0W20 and she said No! 020! Well shit I dont know. It would have been nice if she had walked back there and showed me which one to get but she was too busy talking to her coworker and mind you there was only 2 other persons in there. I didn't even bother to ask for help with the filter. I facetimed my brother and googled the information. Working in customer service most of my life, I have always been trained to go above and beyond for customers as well as paying attention to how you make people feel as THAT is what they remember the most. Had a great, great experience. Long story short, had to changed one of my front lights of my car ASAP. Got in there, GABRIEL was very welcoming. I had no clue on how to change it or what to do at all. He helped me, bought the lights, went outside to change it but only to find out that my light was working, it was only loose, he mentioned something around it (dust, dirt) forgot what he said, but he cleared it out and was able to make it work.
