Absolutely terrible customer service from the store manager, David O. My wife came into this store specifically to buy oil and a filter for our vehicle and relied on the employees to help her get the correct products. They sold her the wrong oil. When I came back to exchange it for the correct oil, instead of trying to fix the mistake their own store helped create, David O was rude, dismissive, and refused to return, exchange, or offer any reasonable solution. I wasn't asking for anything free. I was literally trying to exchange the incorrect oil they sold my wife for the correct oil and PAY any difference if necessary. A store manager should be helping customers resolve problems, especially when the customer relied on the store's own employees for the correct product--not treating them like a problem for coming back. David O's attitude and complete unwillingness to help made an already frustrating situation significantly worse. If this is how management handles a simple product issue, I would strongly recommend going somewhere else where employees actually stand behind the advice and products they sell. Easily one of the worst customer service experiences I've had. read more

I purchased headlight turning signal bulbs at another AutoZone and I tried to install them myself. Unfortunately the actual bulb fell into the headlight container or casing. I was close to this AutoZone by chance walked in asked for help David the manager graciously offered brought some tools came out and spent some time trying to get this bulb out. But the feet was nearly impossible the hole was too small. Nevertheless David was gracious respectful considerate and just an all-around great guy. I'm truly appreciative for his help and his time effort and energy. David the manager is awesome read more

Stay far away from this location if you need help. I would say this store is only good if you know what you need, and just go to buy it. I came here to have my battery tested and the girl who helped me, (didn't get her name) brought out her Equipment and tested my battery, alternator and starter. Told me all was good. 2 days later I get stuck with a dead battery and AAA had to jump me. (Mind you, it's a weekday after school with a toddler) My battery was at 3%. So I head over to Autozone to get my battery replaced (under warranty). I should have known better and went to another location. This location employees and manager (Christian) need a serious overhaul. This time Samantha helped me. She is very nice but obviously new. She asked the Mgr. Christian to help her change out my battery. He refused to get off his seat in the back. So she nervously came with me outside to attempt at changing the battery. I know we all have to start somewhere, so I was ok with her changing the battery. She took a very long time just getting the right socket wrenches to fit. Then one was stuck and she couldn't get it off. We had to go back inside so she could ask Christian for help. He reluctantly and with an attitude stormed outside, with us walking behind him. I feel so bad for these employees who have such a lazy, uncaring "manager" . He got the bolt off and went back inside. I had asked him if they could clean off the corrosion from the cable before applying it to a new battery. Should I even have to ask? I mean that should be standard care right ? NOPE. I actually had to buy a cleaner. It felt like the whole process took an hour with all the back and forth and getting the old battery out. Once we were finished outside, we went in so I could pay and I witnessed Christian engaged in heated argument with another customer. That customer was complaining about how Christian had an attitude problem and didn't want to help him. WOW! All I can say is go to another location. Hopefully this one will make sure they hire or train EXPERIENCED staff, and don't promote just anyone with experience. It takes a lot of customer service experience and empathy to be a qualified leader, taking the role of Manager. Do better Autozone! read more

Car maintenance is one of my least favorite things to do. But I have had to learn over the years. My plan was to go to my local Auto Zone and get a nice person to install them for me. All I can say is I got good assistance on purchasing bulbs for my car which I could not even believe cost me $72.98 out the door for a pair. Brand came highly recommended. When I asked for assistance. I got an odd look and said no one is really available and it will be too dark soon. It was 3pm. Cashier was not very polite. I walked out annoyed and then decided on another option after talking to my brother. I walked right back in and returned the bulbs. When the cashier asked why, I said it's not important (I didn't want to be negative) THEN she attempted to look all over the store for someone to help me. By then it was too late. I had already decided I wasn't going to give them my hard earned money. follow-up: I ended up making an appointment at Firestone foe the next day. Only $30 more but I don't have to deal with it anymore. read more

This is a smaller AutoZone, but it's the customer service that I appreciate. Other locations around the area all have a serious issue with being able to get to an employee for help (beyond waiting in long, slow checkout lines) but not this location. I've never had an issue with finding someone to either point me in the right direction or help me work through what I needed. Even in instances when it's clear they might not be the most knowledgeable on the issue I'm having, they all have enough insight to help me make the right purchase. It's really much appreciated. I came into this location because I left the location in Northridge off or Reseda Blvd. The line was too long at the other location and the employees seemed stressed at the other location (though they were nice). When I arrived to this location, I was lucky to immediately find a parking spot close to the store and when I walked inside, there wasn't a line out the door like at the previous location I was at. I was happy to be greeted by an employee right when I entered, though, the employee didn't seem to be too thrilled when I requested a code-reading for my car. Luckily, the employee who was called upon to help me with my request had a pleasant personality and helped me as much as he could even though it was really hot outside. I called and asked if they could change the battery on my electric car. I was told they could and to come at a specific time. I arrived and spoke to another person at the counter who got my batter and said they could change it, that my electric car didn't need a computer reset or anything that would prevent them from being able to do the work. Then they send a 3rd person to do the work. He realized it was an electric car and said we don't do electric cars and left. Wasted hours of my time and I think he just didn't feel like working. A couple nights ago my car's battery died and left me distraught thinking I'd be totally stranded given how late it was in the evening. A young employee there -- who happens to still be in H.S., incidentally! -- by the name of Julian, said he'd take care of me, and he did. He was a true gentleman and the work he did was meticulous in changing out my battery. This location has the most useless and incompetent staff in the world. My husband called to check if they had an item, the supposed "manager" said yes and my husband asked them if they could put it on hold, the "manager" said no problem. Well we showed up to pick it up and the "manager" said "oh we just sold it".... WHY WOULD YOU SELL IT?! It was the last of that item in the store and he sold it! Then said "well I didn't sell it she did" and pointed to a cashier. There wasn't even an apology given or any type of help, just stuttering and looking like a deer in the headlights. Then he had the nerve to push the blame onto someone else. The "manager" is worthless and I will absolutely be reporting him to the company. Spend your money somewhere else. I came to this Autozone to cancel my online in-store pickup order. The way their system work is that you have to pick up the item first then you can return it, you just can't cancel it through their website. The employee in store was helpful during this process. During that time I also went around the store and look at their car cleaning supplies. They have Chemical Guys and Griots product here. Today I purchased windshield wipers from another AutoZone location I needed help putting the wipers on but they were busy so I had to leave because I had to drop my daughter off at school. After dropped my daughter off. I drove to the AutoZone located at 16922 Devonshire St. in Granada Hills when I walked in. I was immediately greeted by Alejandra C. She was very welcoming with a smile. I told her that I needed help placing my windshield wipers and without hesitation, She put on her jacket because it was raining walked outside and placed my windshield wipers for me. I felt so bad because it was raining , I offered her a cash tip which she refused. Wow!!! That spoke volumes and lets me know that she really loved her job and cares about the customers. WOW! I cannot say enough good things about this AutoZone, and it's incredible staff, Xavier in particular. Everyone was extremely helpful. Customer service is clearly a priority at this location. Xavier helped my mom with a couple of items including new windshield wiper blades for my her car. He even installed them in the rain! More than that, the rear wiper did not fit properly despite the computer there saying it was a match. The only other suggestion for him in their computer system wasn't available. Do you know how many stores would have simply said "sorry, check the dealership, as this is the best we can do?" Not Xavier! He went to the windshield wiper aisle and found one that his expertise said should be a match, despite his computer system not specifically bringing it up as a match for our car. He was right and saved us another trip and likely money in the process. I hope management knows how incredible he is and how well he represents the Auto Zone brand. He was professional, personable, and knowledgeable. Auto parts stores can be intimidating if you don't know much about what you need.
