Went here to get a free engine check light diagnosis and staff was friendly and prompt to help. It's a basic diagnosis which gives you an idea what may be the problem. However the repair shop will still need to do their own diagnosis when you bring your car in & it'll be more thorough. Still helps since some repair shops are not always honest. read more

I usually don't leave reviews, but I felt this one was well deserved. I started out my morning by having a dead battery and could not start my truck. I did my due diligence and found a service to jumpstart my truck. I proceeded to call different auto shop places for a replacement battery and ended up having a better price quote at AutoZone. I was pleasantly helped by this gentleman named Joey W. I proceeded to purchase my battery and he offered to replace my current battery. He took the time to figure out Little details that needed to be done before taking out the battery itself. He successfully replaced my battery. Going to this Livermore Autozone late EVENING to get my battery replaced resulted in a broken coolant hose that led to overheating of my engine, resulting in permanent engine damage the NEXT MORNING which would cost me $4500+ to replace. This 2009 Toyota corolla could have last me another 5-8 years easily, but it was completely damaged. I called Autozone, and Shailini, the store manager, nicely asked me to file a claim with all the evidence/receipts/photos/diagnosis and quote by mechanic. She asked me to email her supervisor, John Correia. He never responded to my email, but eventually called me on the phone to rudely/unhelpfully say that they denied my claim because my car should have given me a warning about the overheating so that I should have known to stop driving it. He did not deny that they/Autozone broke the coolant hose, yet took no responsibility whatsoever. So, each time Autozone breaks something in your car, they rely on Toyota or the manufacturer to give you warnings while taking no responsibility for the unnecessary damage they caused. Even though I think this argument is weak and completely flawed, I asked them to at least compensate me for the $375 I had to pay for getting my car towed from the highway when it broke down. He declined. I have had terrible experiences in the past with Autozone, and will never go to any Autozone again. They provide terrible service as well as illogical/absurd explanations despite all evidence/documentation. (P.S. In the first place, I had to replace the battery because a San Jose Autozone put in a completely incorrect battery/wrong size, which led to my car not starting after a year or so, which also required me to get a tow.) read more

While checking the oil on my 2018 Subaru Forester, I discovered the original equipment wiper blades were in tatters. They were both made of cheap plastic and poor rubber. Autozone has been my "go to" store since I moved to Livermore in 2012 and has never let me down. They didn't this time as well. I selected a pair of Bosch Edge wiper blades and the Store Associate, Teddy, checked them to see if the book was correct. It was. He offered to remove the old blades and install the new ones. I really appreciated the "go to" Service. This young man is a manager-to-be in my opinion. In 2017 I purchased 2 Duralast batterys for 2 different vehicles taking an upsale because the rep told me the 5 year warranty was a direct replacement. Within the warranty period, one of the batteries went faulty. I went to exchange it and was told that it was only a 3 year warranty with a 2 year pro rate. Feeling I had been unfairly sold on how the warranty was presented, I called district office and John Corriera told me to go back and it would be exchanged. No problem then, but a couple of months later, the 2nd battery became faulty. Going through the same process again, I recontacted the district office only this time John refused the exchange and I got stuck paying almost full price for a new battery. At this point, with a couple of frustrating purchases at Autozone, I'll likely NEVER go back or recommend them to anyone. Bully for them because as a person who works at a gym and talking to at least 30 or more people a day, if they ask who I would recommend...................it wouldn't be Autozone. read more

So I had to call the store to confirm. If any of the stores had it in stock. Then they decide to tell me that it has to be a Livermore store. So now that i followed this weird price match guidelines. They decided to tell me that they can't really price match The most unprofessional store. I will be contacting the corporate store regarding this. My husband went to Auto zone on many occasions and it seems the only thing they can't do right, is order the right part!!! We had to take back the brake pads that they ordered for us and they sent us all the way to Pleasanton to pick up some brake pads which (by the way didn't fit!) & they claimed​ those were the right ones and when we got to Pleasanton they told us that they sent then to Livermore!! I had a wonderful experience at this AutoZone due to the hospitality of the sales associate Mitch, as well as his manager Kiley. I had bought a solution to use on my car, I needed a simple funnel just to make things cleaner and avoid making a mess. I found the perfect funnel, from what it looked like, it was only $0.99 When Mitch rang the item up, it read as $2.99 I suppose it was simply misplaced. Mitch quickly gave me the option to talk to his manager for me to see if they would honor it. With in a few seconds the manager Kiley was present at the cashier price changing the funnel and honoring it. They could have easily said "no," but instead it was honored there and then with no questions asked. Its employees like both Kiley and Mitch that make an experience at a typical shop that's all over the map more personable and pleasant. Thanks again, guys! read more

There is a fair amount of competition in this field and this store used to be Grand Auto. I liked it better when they had a garage with it - I used to get alignments there and the service was cheap and adequate. The store is newer and cleaner than Grand Auto used to be, but I think Grand had a better selection. I'm giving them three stars because they might have what you want, but then again they might not. There are a variety of other stores nearby that I usually am hitting - Orchard Supply, Trader Joe's, Rite-Aid, etc. They fit the bill for a local car parts place and are quite handy to have near by. If I were to be in the neighborhood, I'd be slightly more likely to go to O'reilly than the newer AutoZone. I consider them about equal though, and have found some more interesting stuff here. Neither one distinguishes themselves in my mind, but that is the trend in brick and mortar stores. Nobody carries the off the wall stuff anymore. A sign of the times - lean out your inventory and sell what moves. None of this reflects badly upon the store or the employees. They don't pick their inventory. read more
