Hate to dump a one star review but this store doesn't deserve anything else. Called ahead before driving up from the south end of the island at night to get a VERY expensive headlanp replacement for my wife's Cayenne. They are readily available at most parts stores. They said they had it in stock and gave me a quote on two different quality levels. So I drove up there and they said that they show one but it must be in the totes delivered from their warehouse that they were too lazy to put away all day. The first guy that helped me was friendly and positive but an idiot. He then told me he was new. BUT he took the time to start looking through the totes for me enthusiastically before he realized there were too many to look through. The other two employees stood there in an empty store looking at me and the computer instead of helping their go worker. They asked me how far I would drive tonight to get one??? Omg. This was the laziest and worst prepared group of employees I've seen in a long time to be responsible for a major chain store of inventory. Do not rely on this Autozone! I just ordered the same Phillips brand lamp as I have originally from Germany for $70 less on Amazon that will be at my door by tomorrow night. read more

I went in to test my battery after my car wouldn't start and Tom was so helpful! He replaced my battery for me and took care to make sure it was all done right. Sure my fault for not doublechecking but now I have to spend two hours to drive to another store to get the parts that should've been ordered properly the first time and can I get a 20% discount for ordering on the web and not in the store? read more

I had an amazing experience at this Auto Zone! I came here on a Sunday night after getting a jumpstart from triple A with a dead dead battery. The woman at the counter was SO sweet and incredibly helpful. Fast worker and genuinely kind, despite my lack of knowledge or preparation for the situation. Chris was so fast at installing the new battery and we had good conversation the entire time he worked away at it! My car battery arrangement was frustrating with a mismatched bracket but it took him 1/1000 the amount of time it would have taken me and he made it work perfectly. It was cold, dark and rainy but he made the overall experience enjoyable! A+ service from both of them! Couldn't have been better. read more

Stopped in to buy a quart of oil. One guy at counter was busy with another customer and asked another employee to help us. The older grumpier employee was obviously put out even though it didn't appear he was doing anything urgent. Well sponge bob crabby pants moved to a different register and rudely quasi assisted us. He begrudgingly rang up The measly sale and had to be asked 3 times for the military discount even though they had a sign on the counter. Next time I'll walk across the street to a competitor. read more

I'm sorry the woman who reviewed before me had a bad experience, but I dealt with this store twice today during my quest to fix (and figure out how to fix) the hood release , cable on my Honda. When I called early in the day, trying to figure out where I could get the part I needed for the best price, Autozone was the answer. One young man was beyond helpful, as soon as I remember his name I'll post it here so all may know is awesomeness. He told me what I would need, helped me find it when I came into the store later on, looked at my car to see if there was an easier way to replace it ... and then even ran a quick test on my battery without batting an eye and gave me his best remedy for crusty battery connections. I really couldn't ask for more and I will gladly bring my business back to this establishment. read more

I stopped into Auto-Zone today to get a new relay switch for my Dodge Neon. When I walked in, a younger blond man was already waiting on a customer and there was an older man with his back to the register. The younger man asked the older man, whose name I think was Bill, to turn around and help me. Bill said okay but just kept doing what he was doing. He finally turned around and when I asked him for the relay switch he was very gruff and just downright rude. Ordinarily, I would just walk out and go somewhere else but the person fixing my car was with me and I didn't want to waste his time. I got my relay switch and then asked Bill to use the code checker to see why my "check engine" light was on. He huffed and puffed and we went outside where he checked the codes and spit them out so fast at me I didn't understand what he was saying but my friend told me that he got the jist of what Bill was saying. After that Bill just went inside without a word. My friend put the relay switch in my car and then asked me if I'd gotten the codes. He said that Bill should have given me a receipt with the codes on them to take home. I went inside and Bill was no where to be found. Luckily the younger blond man was and he was able to give me the codes. I don't have occasion to vision Auto Zone often so I don't know if Bill was having a bad day or if this was typical behavior for him. I'll shop here again when needed, but if Bill is at the counter I'll wait for someone else to help me or I'll have to leave. read more

We had a new alternator installed by HillTop Texaco in Oak Harbor. They got their part from Auto Zone. The part failed within months of us moving out of area. Justin did a 3-way call with myself & Angela at HillTop Texaco. I let he know that the nearest Auto Zone to our new home was more than 75 miles away! She was a SNOT, rude, with absolutely no pr skills whatsoever. Call ended. Justin told me Auto Zone would stand behind their part even if HillTop didn't and instructed me to go to our local (there's only ONE) auto repair shop and get a new alternator since there was NO WAY for us to drive a truck on battery alone (since alternator wasn't working), 75 miles. On February 2nd I called and talked to the manager Jeff Bakeman at the same store in Oak Harbor and let him know I was standing in the local repair shop in the new town we live in and that I was being charged a $59 CORE charge. He said they normally DON'T refund a core charge, BUT that since we live so FAR Away from their nearest store, he AGREED to have Auto Zone in Vancouver Wa on Hwy 99 refund us the alternator AND the $59 core charge I was being charged at the auto repair shop. March 18th, my 89 year old Mom and I drove our newly acquired car down to Vancouve with the alternator and receipts. Before we left the house, I called and re-confirmed with Justin, and asked him to call Vancouver and REMIND them they are refunding the two charges. He said he already had, and that there'd be no problem, but that he would recall them anyhow. I trusted him to do so. Drove there, STOOD THERE FOR OVER HOUR AND A HALF FIGHTING WITH THEM b/c David B. claims he knew nothing of it, and that Justing did NOT call, and that he was not going to refund the $59 core charge!!!!! MY MOM IS SITTING OUT IN THE CAR ALL THIS TIME!!! But, what do they care?! I got Justin on phone while in Vancouver, and told him I didn't know who dropped the ball, and he said that I should "BE LOOKING AT JEFF the manager".! All the while, David B. at Vancouver blames Justin for not calling. I called Jeff Bademan at Oak Harbor store back couple days later, and he completely renigged on his agreement, claiming he never said what he said. BEWARE OF BUYING FROM THIS STORE!!!!!!!!!! He went druling on and on about how big a favor they were doing me. Well, if so THANKS....but as I told Jeff, we don't like BEING LIED TO. I told him that he flat out lied to me, sending us on a wild goose chase that cost us $37 in GASOLINE!!!! Every time I come in here I get exactly what I need. The customer service is awesome. I appreciate the fact that the men are very knowledgeable about majority of the products in the store. They are also honest as well. I do not know much about cars and minor repairs that you can do on your own that will save you a lot of time and money. My issue was that I got the hood of my car painted about two to three years ago, I noticed this year that my paint on the hood of my car started to fade and appear completely different than the rest of the car. I asked one of the employees at this location to take a look at my hood and tell me what I can do to restore the paint. I was told about a product called Meguiar's Ultimate Compound. It worked wonders for my car. read more

As a Navy retiree I have been traveling from San Diego to Oak Harbor on many occasions. Purchasing repair parts at Autozone have been a very pleasant experience and rewarding in that my purchases up and down the coast are kept on file, including appropriate warranties. I had to purchase a remanufactured 2000 Dodge Van computer through Autozone and it saved me a lot of money compared to purchasing, programming, and installing at a dealer. Justin and his crew go above and beyond. Have never been treated like I have no clue what I am talking about even though I am female. I have been treated this way by other auto parts. I am the daughter of a mechanic and have spent more time in auto parts stores than most other stores which means for the most part i can tell them what i am looking for. After having issues with rotors Justin was able to quickly diagnose the problem and resolve it fast. Other store did not believe my 99 Jeep did not take normal rotors not taking account that manufactures use different year parts.. The 99 were too thick and 2000 were perfect. I will always strongly suggest Auto Zone! read more

I bought headlight bulbs hoping to put them in myself or have an employee help. It turned out to be a job for a garage to do but customer service was great. When one person wasn't able to get the bulb we though was out back in correctly someone else came to help and then another person. It's unfortunate that it wasn't an easy fix but I'm thankful that they did there best. read more
