My check engine light came on. I did not know what to do so I stopped here and this young man said let me help you. He did a scan on my car and told me exactly what was wrong. This company is absolutely great. They have a wonderful parking lot wonderful employees and you can see it by this review that they actually care about their customers, the young man asked me not to hear his name, but go here and if you see a man that's in his younger 20s has a great smile and cares about his customers. Well ask him for help. I got answers to why my check engine light was on. A VERY BAD EXPERIENCE. I recently went and bought a battery for my car. I asked them to help me replace it, and they sent someone who I think was a new employee because they couldn't replace it. The worst part was that one of the terminals broke, and they couldn't replace it. In the end, they told me I should take it to the Honda dealership. That doesn't seem fair! I called the Federal Way store 7/20/2023 and the employee, that answered was very rude and disgruntle, I had called another AutoZone, and waited on hold 15 minutes, then was advised that the Federal Way store had the part in stock. I already searched my own part number and was told it was in stock at the Federal Way Store, So I called that store to confirm it was in stock seeing there was only (1). Upon calling automatically no greeting they just placed me on hold for an additional 12 minute, Only to answer the phone and then get frustrated, with not being able to find the car or part. I advised the employee that I was calling just to check, and mentioned I already have the part number. These fools feel they know everything, after providing the part number they could see yes they have it in stock, when asked if they could place a hold on it. He advised me yea umm I have like 15 people before you... and he just insisted the part was there. That's not customer service, Auto Zone employee must be so disgruntle with their life's and wage, they feel there service has to be mediocre, and they feel they need to be rude to the customer. Well sadly i will be ordering my part else were, and auto zone will loose my business due to this. Bottom line when you answer a phone, be respectful, and considerate you work in a service industry. If your going to answer a phone be prepared to assist and answer general questions regarding, part, pricing and core pricing. Do not be brash, short and rude and express your frustrations with the day. I am not your therapist. I had a battery die on me, and was told that they couldn't find my battery for my Volkswagen 2013 golf in the computer system. This happened today at about 7 o'clock. The guy and the girl on shift were too busy talking to each other about a phone conversation to really even take my information when requesting it. After finding my Vin number, I was told I would have to go and take out my battery by hand and carry it in to the store so that they could see if they had one that was like it. I'm not too car savvy, so when I asked him if he could come out and help me do that he explained that he can't leave the other employee in the store by herself. I'm not sure if this is an AutoZone policy, but in the past several years that I've been to AutoZone I've never had an issue with them helping replace a battery, tail light, or any other simple fix. I'm very disappointed with my visit, I will no longer be visiting this location and advise others not to as well. I've never had these issues at the Maple Valley AutoZone location or at the Covington AutoZone location, just wanted to pass that on so it doesn't look like I'm being bias. read more

Auto Zone Alternators are JUNK! I purchased a NEW, not refurbished alternator for my Acura from Autozone back in April of 2022. Six months later on October 21, 2022, it started acting up. The alternator I replaced back in April appeared to be the same brand. It failed just after year after I bought this car which was only driven less than 4k miles. Duralast alternators are garbage! Auto Zone's return policy is basically non-existent. They will trade you for replacement piece of junk, but then you'll be stuck in an endless cycle of paying for labor to replace this part every 6 months to a year. It's a money pit and a trap. Years ago, I replaced my alternator using the same brand for my Toyota. Afterwards, I would receive a high pitch feedback through my car speakers. It was very annoying. I should have learned my lesson then. I do not recommend any alternator from Auto Zone, O'Reilly's, etc. Save yourself the headaches and time wasted by staying away from these places! Have your stock alternator rebuilt or buy genuine parts. Believe me and you will thank me for it. read more

Never realized that you could create a ghetto experience in an auto parts store. Walmart yes, autozone....wow! This Autozone location has to be the most non-customer friendly store around, many people standing around and no one to check you out....I finally left after waiting to buy a significant amount of cleaners, wax, Mobil 1 (3 European cars worth), filters and other car care products. Should have left after asking a very simple question about oil filters, why one filter is more expensive than another from the same manufacturer (Fram) in which the salesperson with the ghetto attitude replied "how do I know, I don't know what kind of car you drive" huh? I figured that it may have a higher particulate capture but this guy had a serious attitude problem. I've purchased many, many parts from other stores and have never experienced this sort of customer service. This is not the first time with this type of experience with AZ and always thought that it may be a bad day, hard customer prior, or? As far as the ghetto portion....I'm a man of color so not being racist at all, but this store really drags the low life's in.... Worst auto parts store EVER! Ill pay the slightly higher prices at NAPA or O'Reillys anyday to avoid being treated as a dummy. I'm a car guy who owns a Landcruiser, Porsche C4, and two Mercedes (one collector and one new) and obviously am always buying car products.......Not from this store! read more

This is such a wonderful place, the Wizard of Oz at the end of the yellow brick road! The pot of gold at the end of my rainbow! Without the witches and creepy leprechauns. Every time I go in (most of the time with obviously blonde questions) they are so kind, helpful and respectful. A few weeks back I'd been having trouble with my dash lights and decided that it must be a blown fuse. Even looked it up in my handy dandy manual. I then brought all that info to Mike at Auto Zone. Complete with my professional opinion that "it had happened before and this is what it must be." Mike was so kind and got the fuse and followed me to my car to put it in. Thank GOD he deals with people like me everyday and had the good sense to ask me to show him what was going on. I got in the car, turned it on and waved at the defective dash lights. He looked at it, then looked at me, then reached in and turned up the dial for the dash lights. Never smacked my forehead so hard in my life. He didn't even chuckle that hard, smiled and lied to me and said that it happens all the time. Bless you Mike. Bless you and your blonde whispering self. I went to this location to return something that was unopened. I accidentally threw away the receipt so I asked to return the item using the rewards card I used to purchase it. One of the associates rudely informed me that it could only be returned for store credit. Knowing this was false information, I left with my item and called the autozone on 21st Ave. in Federal Way and asked the same question and got a completely different answer that sounded more accurate. And she was polite! Needless to say, I will never do business with this particular store ever again. Associates should know their policies, especially if they are going to be rude when enforcing them. read more

I can't say enough how grateful and appreciative I am for the guys at the Pac Hwy AutoZone - I discovered a badly corroded battery (barely able to start it, and couldn't be trusted to get to a mechanic) and was told on the phone that if I could just get there, then someone could help me out. Sure enough, I was greeted right away and Mike came out with a new hire to test the battery, do a little training, and show me what we were dealing with. He then explained the different batteries and the needs for different pieces, and then we went to work getting my old battery out and replacing a new one, with connectors and a holding bracket. I think it took about 2 hrs; Mike was calm and determined, and let me ask questions and see what was going on. Despite how awful it was to have my car die at a gas station, I have to say it was a great experience as a consumer. read more

Lets put it this way... I've never been in the store for more than 10 minutes. You walk in... stand in line... ask for what you want. They take you over find what you want and walk you back to the register. Complete the transaction and you are on your way.... Nothing to complain about. TERRIBLE! TERRIBLE! TERRIBLE!!! Horrible customer service and dishonest employees. Today, was our 3rd time coming here and this will surely be the last. Every time we've been here the employees show how careless and incompetent they truly are. 1st visit - WINDSHIELD WIPERS - We were sold the wrong windshield wipers. Took them back and were made to feel like fools. The employee came out to put them on "properly" and saw that they sold us the incorrect product. We were given the "correct ones" and less than 1/2 mile down the road the wipers flew off the car. Took them back, asked for our money back and went to Volkswagen as we should've from the start. 2nd visit - HEADLIGHT - I went to purchase a new bulb. They swore I needed a new housing unit and everythibg. Tried to sell me the unit for $300. Insane! I'm not a woman that is easily fooled. I bought and changed my own headlights at home. No housing unit necessary. TODAY (3rd visit) - CAR BATTERY - We went to have a battery tested for charge and to have it charged if it would hold a charge. We were on a time crunch and needed to complete our registration and emissions before 5pm. It was 11:30am. Plenty time! We were told to come back in 1 1/2 hrs. 2 1/2 hours later we return and were given someone else's battery. Our name was put on the wrong battery and the employee insisted that it was our battery - an Acura battery and our truck is a Toyota. They couldn't find our battery initially. It was located (unmarked) at the bottom of a cart, UNTESTED and WITHOUT a charge. The battery was no good and not taking a charge so we bought a battery. MORE PROBLEMS . . . After confirming which battery was needed for our vehicle, we get home and realize that we were sold the wrong battery for our truck. Upon returning to the store a different employee assists and notices immediately that it is the incorrect battery. At this time it was now almost 4pm and we needed to go to emissions and DMV before 5pm. We must've had amazing positivity on our side because we reached the DMV at 4:57pm, but this could've been much less stressful if AUTOZONE provided better service. Please save yourselves some grief and DO NOT go to this AutoZone location for anything at all. You've been warned!!! read more

Patrick was so helpful! I came in to get new wiper blades for the Seattle winter I'm now experiencing. I used the auto zone book to figure out which blades I needed...uhh, nope! He supplied the correct ones, ran an engine check light for me (a great free service they provide), and installed the new gas cap I needed. I couldn't figure out the wiper blades so he showed me how to and then made me do it myself so I knew for next time! Thanks for teaching and not just doing it entirely for me :) They're a busy store but I was definitely well taken care of. read more

We were standing in line when the dumb blonde employee started snapping her finders at the customer she was helping because she gave him $10 back too much. Then you meet more employees and finally talk to the manager, of course..no customer service at all. Our battery died out on us and we asked if they had a jump start to help us out they told us they didnt..not even trying to tell us that we could atleast bring our battery in to charge for free. I mean common we made a purchase, not just bumming for a free f***ing jump. I def. Recommend going to Oreillys, they will go all out and more for you. Waited in line at the front of the line for 11 minutes before I was rung up by the manager. Wasn't even acknowledged by an employee while waiting until 9 minutes in. At that point I found the manager and asked if I could be rung up by one of the 9 employees that I counted while waiting. The employees dont care about customers queing up, they let people cut in line and leave customers who are waiting their turn to just stand there and get ignored. They also ignore the "parts" line and "checkout" line and parts people get in the checkout line and the employees do not have the customer service skills to tell line jumpers to get in the right line. They also have the earn credit program but they do not tell you that you HAVE TO HAVE THE ORIGINAL CARD or they are going to screw you out of your earned 20.00 credit. I really loathe an absence of customer service and this autozone certainly showed that today and its not the first time, I am going to look for a new parts store. read more
