Corona quarantine 2020! For all you "essential businesses still fortunate enough to be making money, here is a good example of how NOT to treat your customers! March 25, 2020 around 4:50 PM. I went to Autozone on 23918 104th Ave SE, Kent, WA 98031. I have spent A LOT of money at this store in the past. Walked in and was greeted by William. He asked what he could help me find and I told him I was looking for a 13mm offset ratcheting dogbone and that I also intended to buy some electrical connectors. He directed me to aisle 2 and told me if they had the dogbone, it would be in the red section there. I went and looked. Saw some complete wrench sets and decided to look around to see if maybe I could find something else that would work for my project. Now here is where it gets weird.... As I am walking down the aisle, in a stern tone of voice William tells me "Sir, I can't have you wandering around the store!". I told him "I'm just looking to see if you have anything else that may work for what I need". He responds (again sternly, as if I were a child) "IF YOU DON'T SEE IT IN THE RED AREA, WE PROBABLY DON'T HAVE IT! HAVE YOU TRIED MCLENDONS? WE CAN'T HAVE PEOPLE WANDERING AROUND THE STORE!". I responded "Look! I am shopping and I intend to make a purchase here!". Again he tells me "IF YOU NEED SOMETHING WE HAVE TO PULL IT FOR YOU! YOU CAN'T WANDER AROUND THE STORE TOUCHING EVERYTHING! IF YOU COME IN AND DON'T KNOW EXACTLY WHAT YOU WANT WE CAN'T HELP YOU!" (Bear in mind I have literally touched NOTHING in the store!) I thought a minute, got fed up, and told him "OK! I'll take my dollar elsewhere!". I went across the street to O'Reillys. When I walked in, I received a friendly greeting and proceeded to go about my business of looking for the tool I needed. I walked around the whole store and not a word was said. I ended up buying some shrink tube and connectors. I then went to McLendons. Again I walked in and was given a friendly greeting. Again I searched the store looking for my tool. Several employees helped direct me to the right area and none harassed me about "wandering around the store". I purchased my wrench, left, and went back to Autozone so I could get Williams name for this review, and explained to him that I was treated much better in the other two stores. I informed him that I would be writing this review. His response? "Dude, we can't have people wandering around the store!". As I have stated, I have spent A LOT of money at this store! I explained that to him, and the fact that because of my treatment I would never be back!! I only write reviews in two situations: Either the service was outstanding (which is so rare in this day and age that I feel it deserves special recognition), or the service was absolutely terrible as it was in this case! Folks, I get that we are in a trying time right now, but there is absolutely NO REASON TO TREAT ANY CUSTOMER LIKE THIS!! I was simply shopping, with an intent to buy what I needed at this Autozone. I was absolutely maintaining a 6 foot distance from others, and I certainly wasn't handling any merchandise! I was looking around, because anyone who has done a significant amount of mechanical work knows that sometimes projects require "outside the box thinking" and I was shopping for a solution. But Captain Corona acted like my mere presence was contaminating the entire store! Sadly, this probably won't do much good. Not many people read reviews before they go to the auto parts store. William and his colleagues will probably read it and have a good laugh. I am mainly writing it with the hope that Corporate or someone at a higher level than this stores manager sees it and perhaps wants to check on their business. If it helps you, the reader, avoid a bad experience then I am glad I got to help, because no one deserves the treatment I received at this store! Vote with your dollar folks! It's one of the only freedoms we have left! DO BETTER AUTOZONE! YOU'VE LOST A CUSTOMER FOR LIFE!! That may not matter much to you. I'm sure that another customer lost will make little difference in your bottom line. But in case you care, you have a real problem at this location! read more

I called them asking if they had a battery in stock. The lady over the phone said they had them. I show up there and she tells me they don't have it. She explained it was a miscommunication and she was saying they would have "auxiliary" batteries of that kind. Clearly, I was asking about my cars specific battery. I was more bothered by her rudeness than them not having it. She was too blunt and had an attitude. I asked if she could order the battery for pick up. She flat out said no due to snowy weather. She wasn't polite about it and made no effort to further help us. She also presumed that we wanted her to help us install it and told us she is not going to install it for us. We didn't ask her to install it. She was African American woman with a Macklemore hair cut. I went to O'Reillys next door they had my battery. I bought it and they were chill. read more

Auto Zone Alternators are JUNK! I purchased a NEW, not refurbished alternator for my Acura from Autozone back in April of 2022. Six months later on October 21, 2022, it started acting up. The alternator I replaced back in April appeared to be the same brand. It failed just after year after I bought this car which was only driven less than 4k miles. Duralast alternators are garbage! Auto Zone's return policy is basically non-existent. They will trade you for replacement piece of junk, but then you'll be stuck in an endless cycle of paying for labor to replace this part every 6 months to a year. It's a money pit and a trap. Years ago, I replaced my alternator using the same brand for my Toyota. Afterwards, I would receive a high pitch feedback through my car speakers. It was very annoying. I should have learned my lesson then. I do not recommend any alternator from Auto Zone, O'Reilly's, etc. Save yourself the headaches and time wasted by staying away from these places! Have your stock alternator rebuilt or buy genuine parts. Believe me and you will thank me for it. read more

Worst experience ever. went into the store asking for some assistance because my battery has been giving me trouble and this one worker at the checkout, white tall dark haired man barely acknowledged me when I asked. His worlds were "um, there is a long line so no" then when I asked if I could get some assistance whenever he has a free moment, he ignored me completely! Some nice lady had to ask him for me and he responded to her but completely ignored me. What an entitled self centered pile of crap! Either retrain your staff to learn some sort of manners and customer service or hire some decent people who know what the heck they are doing! Zero stars for me! I bought two sets of windshield wipers for my Lexus and Venza from this place twice. Each time the wipers are making squeaking noise. They don't all the way evenly across the windshield. One day, it raining so hard and the wipers on my Venza was just installed a month ago was not doing the job. I stoped at Advanced Auto Parts and new set and they work really well. It gave a realization that for the last two years that I have bought wipers from Auto Zone had consistently gave me the same issue. So, not going there any more. Besides, I earn cashback from shopping at Advanced Auto Parts. read more

He was able to help me with a semi-difficult situation and deserves applause. I will most definitely be coming back here again requesting Alex to help me with any future things. I had problems starting my car after work today. I had to have a jump start. I called Firestone for help and they quoted me $230 for a new battery and install. I then called AutoZone. They told me they would check my battery and recharge it for free if that was the problem. Turns out I needed a new battery. AutoZone switched out my old one and installed the new one. I got a decent new battery with a 2 yr replacement warranty for $130. They also installed it for free. Thank you AutoZone for getting me back on the road! read more

I DISLIKE giving bad reviews but as a former CSM manager there is a certain way to treat customers ESPECIALLY when they are spending money. I go in because they had free battery testing. The guy tests my battery I believe Ryan was his name checks the battery and alternator, says its the battery. It definitely needs to be replaced, great. Battery not too expensive especially after replacing my alternator. He shows options, great, military discount, great. Next, are you guys able to install? OH YES! I have to wait for Edgar to get back from lunch, ok(asks lady who I didnt know was the manager when he went to lunch). She says 4 and its now 510 so he said shouldnt be much longer. 530, still waiting, ok fine be patient! Ryan comes takes out my battery and starts installing the new one. Me not being an expert watch him place the negative side first, alarm goes off, places on positive, alarm goes off. He swears thats not what happened. Ok, Im blind then. Finishes install, go to start my car and it wont start!! WTF! Its now 6pm! He says, "Oh Nissans, these new cars blah blah blah....!" He tries to jump me, doesnt work, then calls his manager Jeremy, its a "security issue." for 3 more hours I sat out there. Finally I ended up telling them to just close my hood, so here i am sitting out there alone at 930 while the homeless lady taps on my window and is picking trash. Thanks Autozone for the wonderful services! I guess Ryan was nice at first then when it went bad.....smh You mean I drove my car here working, do a simple battery change and then it doesnt work and now I am sitting out here stranded. What irritated me more than any of that was the manager lady who kept coming out making rude remarks when Ryan was trying to help since hhmmmm HE DID IT! I dont care about your break MANAGER, sorry its late and I have 3 little ones to tend to. Then Mr. Take An Hour+ Lunch Edgar keeps telling customers, its not the battery and I need to call Nissan and have them help me fix the "immobolizer." Very loudly trying to imply they didnt do anything. The manager lady walks behind me, "oh you poor thing!" Between those two Ryan got my frustration although I asked him to please tell them to leave me alone. He started saying things to take the heat off of him. So it wasnt security, he shorted my car putting in the battery plus the terminals needed replacing so it wasnt getting a good charge(which I ASKED HIM)! Which btw my Grandpa diagnosed on the phone 50 miles away(he couldve checked I guess) and Ryan was always 110% sure he did everything right. Ryan was nice??? read more

Yay Brandi C.!!! We were about to embark on a long road trip only to find out our AC wasn't working. My husband had taken our car into have all the fluids flushed, etc. When he asked about the AC the mechanic said we needed a new compressor something or other and just brushed it off. My sister told me about a refrigerant and to try Auto Zone. Brandi came out to make sure we put it in properly and even gave us a few more tips. I was driving home after work Friday evening and my check engine light came on. I stopped at a competitor that I knew read the codes and was told it was too close to closing he couldn't help me. I literally cross the street and pulled into AutoZone in Kent and Kathy who also was closing in five minutes took my ID explain how to use the tool and then read the diagnostic code with me I was in and out in five minutes and was able to drive the rest of the way home without fear of any further damage because I drove my car with the engine light on. I cannot thank Kathy at AutoZone enough for going above and beyond standard customer service and showing concern. read more

Bought a disc brake spreader 3 months back. Didn't open it until now. First use it broke. I brought it back to the store to see if I could get an exchange. Was told that they don't normally take back used tools. I explained I wasn't returning it because I didn't need it, I was returning it because it was broken. I'd take an exchange or get another to try. They were kinda rude and condescending. I was ok with it not being there policy to not take things back after a month. It kind of irritated me that they would sell stuff that would break after one use, also irritated me that the employee could've been more understanding than making it sound like I was returning a used nondefective item. I used to buy from this store quite a bit. Last time I will be visiting them. read more

Customer service is terrible here. I was the only person standing in the store with 4 employees at the registers. When they did help there wasn't any sort of customer service given. As of knowledge of products, they've got no idea when it comes to helping find a part. Worst autozone read more

Wonderful service from Carl B. My husband has been in the hospital for over 3 months and I'm having to figure out how to get my cars to the right places for certain services. My headlight was out along with other daylights that needed replacement. I was told by someone that Autozone may help with replacing my light. I picked this location as it was near my home. I didn't know what to expect, but my nerves were put at ease with a welcoming greeting from a blonde female behind the service counter. She searched for the lights I needed and headed out to my car to install them; after trying to disassemble the headlight cover, she said she couldn't do it and will ask one of her colleagues to come look at it; my heart sank as I didn't know where to go if this didn't work out; in a couple of minutes Carl B. came to inspect my headlights and started to disassemble the lights and it took quite some time; he was careful, patient and experienced. His customer service was outstanding. I recommend this place to everyone. ~ Thanks Carl! I really appreciate your help! (PS it didn't cost extra for them to install the lights) read more

I bought a power jack 2 weeks ago from this location. When I took it out of the package it failed to work. Took it back to try a replacement and the checker got snooty with me and refused to even try to find a way to help me with this issue. Customer service is what makes a company today, failing at this skill will also cost a company. I will now take all my business to another company. This $12 part will cost autozone much more in the long run their choice. read more
