Zack & Mandy assisted me, and their professionalism and customer support regained from confidence back with Auto Zone, and this is where I will buy from, even if its a longer drive for me. On Feb 1,2019, I ordered a Cylinder Head ($429.09) from Autozone Kaimuki Hawaii, due to stock availability, Mgr Jordan was going to order it on Monday (due to time zone differences) and use his commercial account to ship it free to Hawaii. So, on Feb 2nd, the cam, rockers and lifters that I ordered from other companies, I made arrangements to return them (because I was purchasing a complete set of head) for a refund and still have to pay for the return shipment as well as the ship to shipment. On Feb 4, 2019, I visited the store to inquire the status of my order, and was told that its not available and there are no cores to rebuild any future heads for my Ford Pinto 1978 2.3 motor. Told Mgr, I just returned via post office, my cam, lifters and rockers back, just prior to arriving at his store. He says, he will refund me either that afternoon or the next day. On Wednesday, Feb 6th, I went to the store again, says same thing, I will refund you later this afternoon or the next day. On Feb 8th, I called the actual sales rep (Nick) who did my Visa charge, says, he can't do the refund, Mgr needs to do the transaction & he is on an outside island trip, won't be back till next week, requested he notify him and let him know I want to know when I will be refunded, says he will text him the information. I wasn't going to do a review, "don't have a 0 rating", however, I think I have given them sufficient time. And here it is, 2 weeks later, 2 store visits & 1 phone call, and I have no return calls, no refund, and no product!!! How many times must I call them! Very irritated and very frustrated!!! This new store has just opened a few months now, and taking advantage of loyal local customers who just want to buy auto parts. All the many years in Motorcycles & Street Rods, buying automotive parts, I have never been mistreated like Autozone, from Oreilly's, nor our local NAPA Stores, never! Really? How difficult, or how long does it take to do a refund? I've returned items from Oreilly and NAPA, return transactions are done immediately and no questions asked, provided you have a valid reason. In this case, I have a valid reason, and no product in hand, you took my money, and now you don't want to return it. This is bad business practice. I would highly recommend coming to this Autozone when you need stuff. I appreciated the excellent customer service by the Staff, but escpecially the Manager Taira-Alyssa. She went above and beyond in order to help satisfy my needs in regards to getting me a refund on a loaner-tool. I love the store setup is super pretty! I love that the store workers are knowledgeable about 90% of the products they sell although registration via online was a bit complicated for me. I have an existing mbrshp that I want to add my personal info too. Rather than initiate a completely different set of info I would rather keep the 2 purchases I made last night on receipt #179647 of the 2 items I bought. Also I was hoping to request to have a part transferred from another store and I totes understand that the items must be paid for which is why I had hoped to link my purchase to my account but I don't know if that linkage is possible AFTER PURCHASING. I am writing this review to acknowledge the actions of an employee that is customer service oriented and focused, something that can rare these days, as well as point out and contrast just how impactful an employee with a negative bad attitude can be. When checking out, I asked KIANA if the store had a bathroom, which she said they did, but it wasn't a public restroom. What she did next SEVERELY impressed me, she then went out of her way to lead me to the back where their restroom was, and let me use it. To me this is an act a basic human decency that businesses used to, and should as common decency allow their customers. I was very very grateful to her for her compassion. She obviously was raised right, and values customers, and knows that customers are the reason she has that job. After I was done, and left the bathroom, I was a little confused about how to exit the back area and was met by BRENT, who's attitude was the complete OPPOSITE of a customer service minded professional. He disdainfully told me that I was going the wrong way, then went into the restroom and made smart remarks about how the toilet hadn't been flushed (something that was accidental, that had he just said "hey, it looks like you forgot to...could you please take care of this?" I would have gladly resolved) and that "this is why we don't let customers use the bathroom". Insulting customers, especially when unprovoked, shows an attitude unappreciation for patronage. If he doesn't like customer service, maybe he should get another job. I know if I don't like the service I get from a business, I shop elsewhere. If I hadn't been for Kiana, after that incident, I would have absolutely taken my business elsewhere. Before today I had NEVER had a bad experience with this location. It is just bittersweet that both the kindest treatment and the most unacceptable treatment there happened to me today. Two polar different people, two polar different experiences. read more

New to island. So much stress has been had trying to transition here (military PCS). Have completed my vehicle inspection which I failed. Apparently vehicles with lift kits have to pay to get a recon first. Went to the recon place to be told I need to prove I have gotten tire alignment within the past thirty days before they can complete recon. Get the alignment done. Go back to recon. Which I failed. The inspector told me, "hey did you know your battery is not being held in place by anything?" Go to look under the hood and the bracket is missing a bolt and screw and is rattling around under the hood. Please someone explain how something like this gets missed during all the previous inspections! Anyway, head to Auto Zone to see if they can help with parts and get my battery secured. Keep in mind this is a well cared for 2012 4runner guys! Chris C was awesome- very helpful and professional! He saved me from having to come back another day for recon. Appreciate it! read more

This store and people have been great. I've been in and out all week as I'd first ordered transmission fluid and funnel, then brake pads and rotors. Part way through my brake change I realise I was a dunce and ordered parts for AWD instead of 2WD and had lost my receipt for the brake pads. They were able to use my phone number without the receipt to look up the order and refund me for both the pads and rotors and then had the correct ones in stock. I had a wonderful experience here today with one of the managers, Nick. My brake lights would not go off because of a small simple rubber bushing that broke off from the brake arm. Although it is a simple enough fix, my car is a little older, and the exact part I need is tricky to find in stock, so this was the second auto parts store I went to that did not have the exact piece I needed. Nick was helpful and friendly and he went FAR out of his way to help try to make a solution work for me. He spent a lot of time actually trying to fix it for me and to come up with a solution for me!! I was really surprised and grateful that he never treated me like I was dumb for not knowing a lot of car stuff and he was never rude in any way. He was really professional and courteous and made a lot of effort to help! I am grateful to him for his attempt at a solution and he is really really nice and so you should definitely go and pay him a visit if you need help too. The sales people ignore you. Autozone in Kaimuki across from city mill. It's down the street from my house so I tend to go there a lot. 10 times in the last 3 months. This is the last time I am going. The customer service is so bad. I think Autozones are great overall, but not this one. I came here for the promised customer service that was advertised for help with putting windshield wipers on. But when I asked for that help I was told they could not help me with that this morning because they didn't have enough people. And he stood there silent after saying that, not looking me in the eye, not apologizing, not offering for me to come back later or anything. Clearly not interested in helping. My turn signal and hazard lights suddenly stopped working. I did a quick search and learned I needed to replace a fuse. I barely knew what a fuse was. I called a different well-known auto parts store in the Punahou area and asked if I could get some guidance on what fuse to buy. The guy said no. I hung up and called AutoZone, and they were friendly and said they would make sure I was taken care of. When I got there, they were super helpful and the guy with long hair and tatted arms (wish I got his name) even checked under my hood. He figured out what I needed rather quickly. Same kindness from the other sales person with red hair (again, wish I'd asked their names). No attitudes, just basic decent helpfulness. Now I know a lot more about fuses. Driving without a turn signal, especially at night, is such a hazard, and to me an emergency. Glad they were able to help me out. They deserve to be the first call when auto parts are needed. read more

Around 1:40 today (03/29/22) A staff member (short,bug eyed,blond hair) made sexual and uncomfortable comments while I was talking to another staff member. Air humping as I walked to the register, belittling me while running my diagnostics test, starring me down, didn't help me with what I went in for, and was an overall creepy presence. I can't imagine a company allowing this level of assault in the workplace. I definitely won't be coming back and will report to manager. read more

This is da spot for everything you need for your whip! I recently scratched and dented my Mercedes when I struck a part of a pillar in a small parking structure and I thought I was good for. It all changed when I called up Jay, one of the workers here, and he not only told me everything I needed to know but recommended the best products that got my car back! You can barely see any of the scratches or the dents on the car now. I am so glad I didn't have to go see a mechanic who will usually charge me an arm and a leg for the damage on my car! I also got a headlight restoration kit here (highly recommend the Meguiar's Headlight Pack). The music here is fucking dope and so are the employees. I love that they play EDM and are actually like hip and down with it. It's exactly what I love about living in town. Also, shout out to Chris.
