Called to see if a part was available since I was in Hawaii Kai and would have liked to save time and gas to know if a part was in stock and the price of it. They left me on the phone on hold for 20 minutes. I was able to drive there before they answered the phone. There were people standing around able to answer the phone, but I was still left on hold when I got there. Im not surprised that both the guys said they weren't the ones that left me on hold and had no clue someone was waiting on the phone for customer service. Two more people in the back weren't doing much of anything either as far as I could tell. The part I was looking for was almost $200 for a Toyota Tacoma 2020 rear driver side light cover. The part was not in stock and had to be ordered. I really had wished at that point they hadn't left me on hold and gotten back to me within twenty minutes on hold. Since my disappointment with Napa auto parts and associates is evidently clear, I would recommend just buying your parts online since the part is $60 cheaper and steer clear of this place. No wonder their Hawai'i Kai location closed down. Expensive parts and lackluster service. read more

Those imported small Daihatsu van with very little standard in USA. He needed replacement wipers and they not only helped him figure out what size but installed them for him. Larry's Auto Parts was my life saver today. I was driving to work and my windshield wiper decided to break on me. It was the windshield wiper on the driver side and it was pouring. It was so scary, the rain kept coming down and it wasn't able to see out of my window anymore. I had to pull over and wait until the rain stopped. Then I took off my windshield wiper. It was all cracked and broken. I waited for a bit until it cleared up a little then drove again. It was still drizzling and I was scared that I wouldn't be able to see again so I had to stop and manually wipe my car windshield with my broken wiper. I think I stopped three times to wipe the excess water off. I saw that Larry's was the closest auto shop so I tried my best to make it there. Thank goodness they were open. They were open from 7:30 this morning. They were so good. I walked in with my broken windshield wiper and the cashier immediately told me to go to the back and someone would help me. They checked out the damage and got the correct wiper replacement. I asked him to please put it on for me since I know nothing about attaching it. While I was paying he put it on for me. It was so quick. Thank goodness for them. I have a long daily commute and I would have been very scared to drive on the freeway with a broken windshield wiper. I've been coming to Larry's Auto Parts who is a Napa Auto Parts dealer for years. I like coming here because the staff is very knowledgeable on car parts. If they don't know the part they will look it up for you. I just bought a aftermarket front bumper conversion and I needed a wire harness so I can plug the new fog lights in. I searched around and called the local distributor who sells HIDS and LED lights and even he didn't have it. Then I remembered good old Larry's Auto Parts. Needed to change my inside cabin filter for my car for awhile now. Last week went to Walmart Keeaumoku and they didn't have my part. So decided to check out Larry's Auto Parts located on Waialae. I use to know them by NAPA but I guess it's the same company just owned by Larry. They had my part for my car a little more expensive than Walmart but that's ok support local. Inside the store very clean, organized and very friendly staff. A little tip you need to change your inside cabin filter at least once a year. That's the filter located under your glove box and it purify the air running thru the engine into your vents and A/C . Went there to shop for a new car battery, they offered me a free battery check, I didn't refuse because it's free and Ive got nothing to lose. Employee who was sent to help me gave me attitude because I parked little crooked than how he wanted. I told him that Im changing my mind and I would rather go somewhere else than dealing with his grumpy attitude. He insisted on, I guess because he realized that I was pissed off. They told me that my battery is still good and still new and only needed to be recharged, little do they know that O'Reillys and Sumida's Auto already told me that my battery needs replacement. Manager is nice but the colleague he sent to help me is not happy with his job. Im not someone who give bad reviews but only when its necessary. That is all, peace out. Larry's Auto Parts Kaimuki, you never let me down!! This is hands down one of the best Auto Parts store to go to. The staff is always so friendly and helpful and goes the extra mile in customer service. I've had experiences at other Larry's Auto Parts locations and the Kaimuki location beats them all! I always come here to replace my car battery and get this awesome windshield wiper fluid. We recently went because my husband's car battery died and wouldn't start without having to jump it every time. We learned that the newer Toyota Corollas take a specific type of batter size/model...? But the staff new exactly what we needed and brought the good news that they were the only location to have it in stock! It's really a hole in a wall kind of store, but that's where you usually get the best experiences. I have been a customer of this place for so many years I can't even remember when I first walked in. Anytime you need something for your automotive needs, you should definitely stop in here. They have a good amount of stock and variety too. But the main thing here is ... Customer Service! When I walk in, the gal at the register will always greet me sincerely. Walk to the back counter and one of the guys will assist you right away. Just tell them what you're looking for as well as the simple details of your car (year, make, model) and they will diligently work to find what you need. Most impressive is that when you want new windshield wipers, they will come out from behind the counter to locate it. As you walk to the register to pay, you will see him go outside to your car to install them for you (no charge). By the time you're done paying, he's back inside telling you "okay, all done" and with a smile too. The gal at the register is so nice too. I have never seen her without a smile. I am so sorry that I didn't get their names. on a side note: Big Island chocolate bars are at the register. prices have gone up but still worth buying. LOL! read more

They often get your part same day if not in stock. Good customer service too: help you find stuff on the shelves or tell you where to buy if they don't have what you need. THE PLACE TO GO WHEN YOU DON'T WANT TO BE MADE TO FEEL BAD FOR NOT KNOWING MUCH ABOUT CARS! I'll admit, I know nothing about cars. So I'm always hesitant to visit auto parts places because I'm afraid I'll be torn into shreds by some gearhead who's listened to Car Talk one too many times when he starts rattling off a bunch of auto part jargon that I've never heard of. Not at all the case with Larry's. I was just there today. Was told I needed a battery holder in order to finish my safety inspection. A cheerful employee followed me out to my car to look under the hood. After a minute or two, he said I actually already had the holder--the battery had just worked its way out of the holder, so it only needed to be tightened down. Didn't try to sell me anything I didn't need, and he didn't make me feel like a moron for not knowing where to refill the blinker fluid. If I have auto parts needs, I'll have no problem heading here. Quick tip: They carry safety check and recon sticker plates! Why buy these plates? Sticking the decals on your bumper could depreciate the value of your car a bit more than if you just have the stickers on a plate. Do you HAVE to drill holes? No. I use 3m double stick tape. The staff at this store is by far much more helpful than any other automotive store I've been to. Although there is a big bearded man in the back who looks like he could snap me in half, he's actually really nice. If you ever have a broken turn signal, I suggest you go here. Instead of buying a $7 bulb from a huge brand like Sylvania, buy one manufactured for NAPA. It's less than $2 a bulb and while they don't come in a package, usually, turn signal bulbs can be touched by a bare hand in comparison to headlight bulbs. I've even bought masks from this location because I knew I'd be wire brushing rust off my calipers. For a small store, they have a little bit of everything. Very helpful team. read more

I've stopped into Larry's for various auto odds and ends over the last couple of years, and always found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. I am not particularly auto-savvy, and have always found their staff to be immensely helpful with figuring out the right bulbs/parts for my ride. A couple of weekends ago, my boyfriend and I decided to stop by and ask them to check our battery, because our car had just begun turning over for longer and longer before starting. The gentleman that helped us confirmed that our battery needed replacement, but let us know that they wouldn't have the battery that we needed in stock until Monday morning. For reference, it was Sunday, so it wouldn't have been a huge problem if we weren't both working the next day. We opted to shop around and try some other auto supply stores, but lo and behold, our battery had died its final death, right there in their tiny lot. When I let them know about our problem in case we needed to leave the car and cab it to O'Reilly's, the same guy immediately came out with an amp machine and got our car started (saving us a ridiculous amount of hassle) within 30 seconds. We may have made our actual purchase at their competitor due to sheer necessity, but I will absolutely be patronizing Larry's the next time that I have any auto-part needs. Thank you! read more

Hawaii Kai Napa was always where I went for my car needs, but it has since closed, and this is the closest one. Even before it closed, this Napa in Kaimuki was always the store that had the parts I needed that Hawaii Kai didn't have, so more often than not, I would just drive down to Kaimuki to pick up the part myself rather than wait hours or till the next day for the delivery from the warehouse. It's located at the corner of Sierra Drive and Waialae Avenue. The parking lot is very small with some pretty tight spaces, especially when you have the individuals with the huge pick up trucks. But hey, a business with its own private parking lot that's free and has more than two spaces is a rarity in Kaimuki. I really like this Napa because it's well-stocked with a variety of car needs and then some. There's always great deals each month, and many of its supplies are cheaper than any other store and even the internet! For parts, most of what I've bought so far is pretty close to the prices I find on the internet, but in the end, it's worth the extra few bucks since you get your part immediately and you can always conveniently return or exchange any unused or defective items. The staff are friendly, attentive, patient, and very helpful. That's all you need to ask for. Overall, I highly prefer this place than CARQUEST or O'Reilly's Auto Parts. Napa is better stocked with better prices. read more

Sent my girlfriend's sister here for a new battery. It's a weird size so Costco doesn't sell it, and Napa/Larry's was much cheaper PLUS the AAA discount compared to Auto Zone. She ordered online for store pick up and was pleasantly surprised when the guy there offered to install it for her at no charge. That was super convenient because she could also turn in her old battery on the spot for the core fee. It took him just a few minutes and she tipped him $10. She's not a car person but I told her if she picks up the battery I can help change it. Needless to say this was very stress free for her (and me) and she said she'd highly recommend here. My battery had just died and I was desperate to find the closest shop where I could buy a battery and have it installed. Larry's was the closest but I wasn't sure if they would install it. I went in to ask the clerk and she told me to ask one of the guys in the back because it depended on the car and how difficult it is to get to the battery. They looked up my car info and before I knew it, my old battery was being removed and a new one was being put in. Super fast with friendly service!
