This isn't the crafty side of me... Having a very long and exhausting work I've lagged so much in adulting that I've put my ride that's been my ultimate support for me in every way to a point that I've never neglect the safety check. I know exactly when it was due and it had passed that time and beyond only to be told by my bestie as I was driving away that my tail light was out..GAH! Now what do I do about this as I knew the safety is due but with this tail light that's out there's no way it'll pass and this kind of musical chair doesn't make it easy to get things done. Confessing at work of my frustration of course I had someone who says they could do it for me...hmmm!? Running out of options I decided to take the first step of getting a bulb and decided to go to the experts and get the correct ones which only took seconds and got a confirmation of how simple it really is out and done thank you! The staff here is just a delight very helpful with any questions and tried and tried and couldn't but that person at work actually did it for me and am so grateful for helping me so now I'm able to explore with ease! Josie was so helpful today! I came in with an engine light on, and she was accommodating with what to try before spending crazy money on a diagnostic test. My gas cap had a crack, and my dashboard read "lose gas cap." She assisted me with replacing that and a battery for my key fob! Amazing custom service! read more

This store no longer provides basic assistance, like lending tools or helping with a battery replacement. On May 8, 2025, I drove there with a dead battery--after jumping my vehicle just to get it started. When I arrived, the associate, Irie, informed me that they no longer perform battery installations or lend tools, even though they used to offer these services. I purchased a new battery but had to jump my car again just to drive home and install it myself. Unfortunately, the King Street O'Reilly's has really lowered its level of customer service. read more

A Clean car is a Happy car!!! Several days ago, while reading a review from a fellow Yelp friend who had just taken his vehicle for detailing, I got the "itch" to detail my car. I remembered days gone by when I'd spend one of my days off to wash and wax my car's exterior while examining my windshield wipers and tires for wear and using my vacuum cleaner and crevice tools to clean the air ducts and in between the car seats. Sheesh, I'd even use my hair blow dryer to warm the leather interior to make spreading the leather wax or conditioner evenly and easier on the upholstery and dashboard. If there were any mechanical issues, well, I'd let my husband handle it. My car was my "child," We rarely transport passengers in our back seat and have a standing rule of no eating or drinking in the car. At our condominium, we don't have assigned parking spaces even though the sales contract provided us with set stall numbers, but management has maintained random parking rules, which have worked out well for us and the other owners. Thankfully our parking stalls are full-sized, and lanes are slightly larger for easier maneuverability, so we feel our vehicle is safe but not necessarily protected from others who don't care for their cars as much as we or others do. Over the past two years, during the pandemic, we noticed scratches and scrapes appearing on our car doors and fenders, which we can't necessarily attribute to our fellow residents but could've been inflicted when parking out in public. I mentioned the scuffs and scratches to my husband, who then went on to look through our car maintenance supplies. He told me we'd have to purchase new supplies because what we had dried up due to non-use (see, it has been years since our car had scratches or scuffs). So, we took off to O'Reilly Auto Parts as we drove out searching for a gift for an upcoming birthday party that we're attending soon. Although this location has its address listed on South King Street, we knew that its parking lot is accessible from either Punahou or Young Streets. We fondly remember the former Cinérama Theater at this Pāwaa location. Yikes! Anyway, we found a parking stall quickly and walked into the store from the parking lot. This store has clear aisle signage, but we didn't need the signs because as soon as we walked in, we spotted the washes and waxes in the Detailing category. We scanned the shelves and found the products we needed, and then stood in line for the next available cashier. I liked that there were four cashiers on duty, and we could overhear some of their helpful discussions with their customers. We were in and out of the store within five minutes! We trust and rely on O'Reilly Auto Parts for their customer service, expansive inventory, and value. If we ever need assistance looking for an automotive part or product, this store has plenty of helpful and friendly personnel. read more

My dad loves coming here. It's very conveniently located and they have just about everything you need for your car. Since all cars have a computer "motherboard" O'Reilly has a machine that they can plug into your car and determines what's wrong with it. I wish I knew this sooner! The engine light remained on in my dad's car. Based on the reading from the machine, the O'Reilly associate told me that we needed the spark plugs changed. Sure enough that was the issue. My friend is a mechanic and he said don't waste money on the brand names it's just as good . Especially if you don't have a brand new car like me lol. I'm so sorry that I didn't get his name but this gentleman helped me check the life of my battery (almost dead) and get a side mirror. Didn't know that when you get a side mirror it always comes stock color. It's fine. However he did offer to see if I wants to change out both of them since that would even out the car color. lol. I'm fine with one darker mirror as long as it works. It was a 30 minutes in and out ordeal and I was so glad to get all what I needed checked. I don't shop for auto parts frequently, but when I'm in need of an auto part, I've been coming to O'Reilly Auto Parts because this location is convenient for me and they have great hours (open at 7 am!). On my most recent visit, I was in need of wiper blade replacements. I walked right up to the cashier and told him I needed blades. I gave him the year and model of my truck, he looked up the inventory in his computer, walked to the back, and came back with two wiper blades. He asked if I wanted them to install them (installation is free!) and since the store wasn't filled with customers, I said ok. He had to assist one other customer, and then he came outside to install my blades. It took him less than 5 minutes! That's service! read more

I came to O'Reilly to get a new set of windshield wipers. There is a device that you can use to enter your vehicle information and determine what sizes of blades you need. I selected my blades, checked out, and asked if someone could put them on for me. The employee came out, changed it for me, and took the garbage too. I also came here last year because my car battery needed to get changed. The guy came out with some battery contraption to make sure the battery was the problem. It was, indeed. So I bought a new one and he came out with tools and changed it for me. The service is great and the employees are helpful and friendly. I would come again if I need something else for my car. read more

I have to start out by saying I do not know the first thing about car maintenance. I was sent to the auto parts store on a quick mission to grab oil. I stopped by last week and forgot to leave a review at the time. I'm not the most car literate person in the world, but ran out of washer fluid before my scheduled mechanic's visit. I decided it couldn't be that difficult to take it on myself, and it turns out for once I was right. Each experience was a breeze: friendly staff, organized and clean stores, and all the items I needed. I came to this store to get a few things I forgot the first time around and I was greeted by Kalani. He listened to my questions, showed me the items, and looked up one for special order, all while being told to take his lunch break. I was happy he finished helping before he went on break. My Optima battery that I bought a year ago wasn't performing as it should so I went back to this location where I bought it. One of the guys came outside to test it, found it was defective and had a new one waiting for me by the time I pulled the old one out. They even looked up my old receipt which I couldn't find to make sure I got the new one without charge. The amount of time it took from when I pulled in to when I left with my new battery took less than 15 minutes. read more

After getting my oil changed at the dealership, I received notice that my engine air filter and in cabin filter needed to be changed. I was SURE I could replace them myself. I watched a couple YouTube videos and headed to the store. Once there I was assisted in purchasing the correct filters. I proceeded to change them out. While changing the in-cabin filter, the debris wasn't coming out as easily from the compartment. I had the thought that a wipe of some sort would catch it. I went back in the store and asked if they carried any. Though they didn't, the rep who helped me, offered a wet paper towel. When she came back, she gave me the equivalent of about five or six damp paper towels without question. I was able to finish the job and change both filters! read more

Most times when I need something that I cannot find at Walmart's automotive section, rest-a-sure O'Reilly Auto Parts will definitely have it! Yesterday I took my rod into the McCully Union Service for a safety check, and upon getting my rod checked, the mechanic tells me that my battery tie down was missing, and that he was not going to pass my car. Well, here I am at O'Reilly's and guess what I was buying???? Yup a battery tie down device to install onto my battery on my rod. Lucky for me, I got this device for just $5 bucks! What a deal I tell you, and the clerk at O'Reilly's was very helpful in showing me where the item was in the store. When O'Reilly's has a sale on a particular item, I must say their prices are very competitive! I sometimes wander into this store to look at automotive stuff, & to find good deals! All thumbs up for O'Reilly Auto parts Customer Service. Stupid battery died on me today which is odd because I have had my car for just over 1 year (new car). Anyway, I was able to get a jump from roadside assistance then straight to O'Reilly's I go. I wish I would have gotten the name of the person who helped me. I was working when all this happened and I was in a rush for my next appointment. They tested my battery and the battery did not have sufficient cranking power (whatever that means). Anyway, $170 bucks later, O'Reilly employee installing battery in my car. We had intelligent conversation during the install that took all of ten minutes. From.the time I arrived at O'Reilly's until I left was about 30 minutes. I was back on the road headed to my next appointment.
