Rey in the paint side of Napa is thee worst associate I've ever come across in any automotive store ever. The guy is suppose to be a paint expert that uses a handheld device to match paint. Dean gave me a couple of options for the tail light bulb I requested, so I bought two. I also got a discount for being a AAA member! They allowed me to install my bulb in the parking lot. Needed paint for my vehicle and Napa paint department had what I needed. perfect color match if you have the color code, they can either do a gallon of paint or just a spray can of paint, I went with the spray can since I didn't really need that much. Cost was about $27 Helpful tips, they stop mixing paint at 3:00pm. They don't take over the phone requests for paint, you have to pay for it in person and then wait while they mix it. Took about 15min-30mins Overall, best place in my opinion for DIY painters. Also the paint department is on the left side of the shop when you walk in. read more

I've gotten the runaround trying to do a car repair myself; a piece here, a piece there. The journey led me here for the finishing paint. This Napa location is the industrial one where auto shops and dealers can come for parts and paint. It's located on the 'business district' part of the road on Nimitz near the airport; easy to get to if you know where to look. Parking is ample. It's the only one in the city with a paint mixing department as well. You give them any paint code of any car, and the computer knows exactly what to mix together and what form you need it in (can, spray paint, etc.). The staff here was friendly and eager to help. They quoted about 20 minutes for the mix, but it only took 5; they also recommended the gloss clear coat and had everything ready for me. Prices aren't cheap, but much more affordable than going to a body shop. They sell auto parts, tools, touch up paint, and yard equipment. read more

Did you know that Napa can actually make aerosol paint for your car? You don't need to buy and mix a quart of paint, thinner, reducer, filters and a paint gun to touch up your car. Just prep the surface of your car and spray. Napa will help you. If you know your color of your car, they can make it. The color code can be found on your door panel near the latch. Give them the car year, model, and color code and they can mix the paint in an aerosol can for you. My car had a base color, clear tint, and clear coat. 10 oz cans were about $27 each. I bought two spray paint cans from this location, one car was the factory color for my car and the other was a Dupli-Color Clear Coat 1K. The color coat went on fine and matched my vehicle, but when I sprayed the clear coat, it had a yellow tinge to it and ruined the job. I returned to the store, explained and showed them the situation that occurred. I asked if they could give me a better product that won't have a yellow tinge to it, but it cost $15 more and I would have to to pay it, even though I wasted a day working on my project and it was ruined by a product I bought from them. The Assistant Manager and Manager did nothing to remedy the situation and only offered to give me another can of the same Dupli-Color clear coat. I had THE worst experience trying to buy a belt. I explained to ELTON who by the way seemed angry for me standing in front of him; That I was replacing the belt on a 09 express van 4.8 that has a PTO drive added so the belt won't be factory. My customer crawled under the van and copied the numbers on the belt only the wrong one. When he ran the belt numbers he came up with a very small, thin belt and I said that and thats when he went ballistic telling me, im wrong, thats the belt I wanted. I said the belt I want is long and thicker. In stad of telling me that this belt is for the A/C went on to tell me how stupid I was under his breath. I asked how much the belt was and he said $100.00. I asked him how much a waterpump for the same vehicle was he blurted out $500.00, I told him I'm a business and he Freeked out how its done, I come in and tell him what the business is first, like sometimes I might want the customer price. I told him how rude he is and the rudeness got worse. I would talk to a manager but knowing No Auto Parts Available it would be like the Pig talking to another Pig...at the farm, no offense to the pigs. The clerk Mike was extremely helpful. I came in to buy a new battery because it died and the AAA guy tested the system and found the battery to be bad and needing to be replaced. I did a lot of research on batteries and decided to go with the Napa battery with the 84 month warranty. When i mentioned something about a battery test, Mike thought it would be prudent to run a check just to be sure my battery was bad. Sure enough, he discovered that the battery was fine and all i needed was a new battery terminal. He quickly got the part and I was on my way in just a few minutes. Thank goodness Mike checked, because instead of spending $130.00 on a new battery, it only cost me $2.00! Everybody else in there was very friendly and kidding around with me. Went to the Napa at 3165 N. Nimitz Highway for some transfer case oil and engine oil filters for 2 cars. Despite having a good selection of engine oil, they didn't have much variety of transmission and transfer case oil. Was looking at the oils for about 20 minutes and no one asked if I needed help. I looked up the capacities and compatability on my phone and went to the counter. Waited a few minutes a few feet away from the counter before an employee behind the counter acknowledged me. When he called me up to the counter I told him what kind of car I had and asked him if the oil I had selected was compatible with my car. He seemed to say it was but he didn't look up anything and perhaps he was not familiar with oil or was too lazy. He didn't seem too friendly. I asked for Napa Gold oil filters for 2 cars. They didn't have 1 in stock so I had to buy the lower grade filter. If they are going to provide service like this, I will shop at Walmart and Home Depot next time. Between the two, they have a decent selection of what I need. Recommend going to Larry's Auto Parts (another Napa dealer) if you need decent service. read more
