I was treated like a queen here. Jacob K. answered all my questions, made sure I took advantage of previous warranties, found me the best deals on all everything I needed and took his time with me. He shared tips for my car and made an unscheduled car emergency easy. I didn't even come in for my battery going bad but him suggesting I get it tested saved me so much time and money. Vanessa I. was a saving grace for this disabled customer. I needed help putting oil in my car. It was extremely hot outside, so I opened the hood, removed the cap, and checked the oil to speed up the process; that was the extent of my abilities. After I bought the oil, I asked the cashier if he could help me put it in. He said no because it was too hot outside, but Vanessa came from the back and helped me. You never know what's going on with someone, and I did not want to hurt myself because my back can go out with a sneeze (ugh). Lifting the hood was a gamble. I did not want to go over my medical history with them. I just needed some compassion. I am so grateful for Vanessa. She did not hesitate to help, even when one of the guys there tried to talk her out of it. I wish I had his name. He was adamant about not helping me, and she just smiled and said it was no problem. I had an amazing experience at Autozone today. I had bought snow tires chains online and had picked them up in store last year ('24). I had left them in the garage the entire time unopened and unused. I had a camping trip cancelled which was the reason for the purchase. I also am upgrading my stock Silverado wheels and don't have use for the tire chains, as they will not fit my upgraded wheel size. I went to return them and it was outside the 3 month window for returns although unused and still sealed in the bag. They remain in Brand New condition. The staff told me I would have to speak to a manager about it. So, store manager came out (Kristen) and told me I couldn't return it, I asked if I could get store credit as I do my own maintenance for my truck and frequent Autozone throughout the year. She was very kind and investigated my online order, and gave me full store credit. She did 't have to do that, I honestly was hoping just to get partial store credit of some kind. Kristen was understanding, helpful and compassionate. Unbeknownst to her, I have a baby on the way. Sadly, this is the worst review I've ever written on Yelp :-( I'm usually a very forgiving and understanding person! I brought my vehicle to test the battery and after waiting in line for 10 minutes for someone to help me, a female associate said they would have someone out to test it at my car in a few minutes. 30 minutes later, I go back inside and a different Associate, Shawn (Shaun?) with dreadlocks... is muttering to himself and won't even make eye contact or talk to me saying he won't go out and test my battery because it is "too dark outside", "its not safe", and "no security cameras" and then walks away muttering to himself. I stood there speechless! I've never seen this before! The female associate who helped the first time was apologizing profusely and was sorry they couldn't help and that Shawn was in a "bad mood". I asked, "So is no one going to help?" She said, "unfortunately, he is the one to do the testing". So I left, went across the street to O'Reilly and had an AMAZING customer service experience. Easy experience. Came in needing ceramic brake pads & possibly rotors. The customer service agent was a gentleman & gave me a courtesy discount. Turns out I didn't need the rotors, so I returned them 3 days later with no issue or delay at all. The store is clean & there was hardly any time at all waiting in line. The guy came back saying the battery was good, I tried to tell them that my vehicle was a hybrid but the lady in the front cut me off in a rude way and said their tester was 100% accurate. First it was with another customer than the employee answered a call all while I'm standing at the register not even have acknowledged me. When I read the employees name badge I realized that he was the manager. So of course his terrible service will bleed down to the line level employees. Being a woman I don't know much about cars. I don't know if my expectations are too high but I expect the men or women inside auto zone to assist me when I need something. I've had better experiences where the clerks assist me with finding the parts needed and assisting me with installation of the parts light a light bulb. I got such a rude and unhelpful manner tonight that I decided not to purchase the bulb I needed and will wait to go to a better auto zone with more helpful clerks tomorrow. Ugh just irritated. Went to other auto zones and told them my situation about how my car wouldn't start because of the battery so everyone said I need to check your battery so disconnect it so that we can check it and if we think it's still good we cannot replace it although you have a warranty it might be your alternator so I got a new alternator installed and same issue I had to get a jump start to make my car start so I came here told the store manager my issue and told him this was another try I would do at another auto zone he heard me out didn't question me just said ima switch out the battery so we switched it out and boom car started right away! Asked the cashier if he could price match Walmart; never had any issues at the Autozone on Perris and had the same exact items price matched some 4 months prior at that exact location. Cashier says no, then asks the manager, manager says no, I stated they had done it before so what was the problem, manager said to the cashier "tell him to go buy it at walmart then." So I left and drove a mile down the road to the O'Reilly. Purchased the same product their and had it matched, no hassle.
