If I could give this location less than 1 star, I would! My 19-year-old son went here and purchased an alternator. They said they didn't have a tester to ensure that the alternator worked, so he could purchase it and take it elsewhere to test it. The clerk at AutoZone who sold it to him then asked if he could just take it out of the store with his old box. He told her, "Sure." He didn't realize they were setting him up to scam him! My son took his newly purchased alternator to a store a couple miles away to get it tested; it failed the test, so he returned to AutoZone for a replacement or refund. They told him he couldn't get a refund because it was under warranty. He had only been gone for less than half an hour getting it tested. They told him he had to go to the next nearest AutoZone where the alternator was in stock, in Downtown Los Angeles. He called that location and they don't have a tester; so he went back inside and told them he didn't want to go all the way there. He just wanted a refund. Then they told him they couldn't give him a refund because he had already installed the alternator. He hadn't even left Northridge! He had driven all the way from our home in Camarillo to Northridge to buy this alternator. How in the world could he have gone back home to Camarillo to install the bad alternator, and then back out to Northridge to return it within an hour?! And why would he even try to after taking it to the tester place a couple miles away?! Obviously my son got angry and cussed them out. They wouldn't give him the alternator box that they kept. And then they asked him to leave because he used profanity out of frustration and anger. These people are scam artists and we will be taking legal action against these crooks if they don't right this wrong! read more

My battery just died on me exactly 2 months after my warranty expired. the AAA assistant technician showed me 5 batteries in his trunk, all purchased from auto zone and all died between one and three months after the warranty expired. I spoke with Elda the rude and unhelpful manager of this God Forsaken store in Northridge, and was told that I was not eligible for any kind of battery replacement nor any discounts. I've been going to Auto Zone for my car parts since I was 22 years old. Is it a coincidence that all batteries purchased from Auto Zone die 2 months after the warranty expires. This location has to be the worst I've ever been to. I always order online for pickup. I never receive the email confirmation letting me know my items are ready for pickup. I have to call the location every time. When they answer they always say there was a "glitch" in their system. When I go to the section where it says online order pickup I get ignored by employees when I do get someone's attention they make me get in the long line of customers buying or looking for parts. Why offer online pickup when you still have to wait. The whole reason people order online is to get in and out without waiting in a long line. I will drive to another AutoZone just to get better customer service. read more

The rain just started, which is not a good way to find out you need new windshield wiper blades. David, at AutoZone, to the rescue! Seriously, to the rescue. No, really, seriously. I pulled in and with my cane, ambled the short distance from the parking spot to the front of the store, where David immediately asked me if I needed help. I told him my desperate blade need and that I would need help putting the new windshield wiper blades on my car....in the rain. He very nicely said, "I gotcha." While I stood at the front of the store, he quickly looked up my needed blades, got them from somewhere deep in the store, rang me up and walked me outside to put them on. In maybe 5 minutes time. It took maybe another 5 minutes for him to put the new blades on the car, and then I was off. With my limited mobility, I was so thankful he never made me try to walk around the store to find the blades myself, he just went and got them for me. His customer service was so right on, you'll never want to lose him to a competitor. Good job David. read more

When a customer needs help to use a fix finder machine the employee should help customer out and not be lazy to just have them figure out themselves especially when a car place recommend them. You had to show them prove that it didn't work then they do it for you. Employees should make their customers happy because it's their job. This is a very good location for autozone that recently moved from down the street but this location is much bigger and they have much larger inventory of products I also recommend you joined our autozone rewards because after spending $20 each time or greater on the 5th time they will give you a $20 reward and you can redeem for any product in the store most recently I purchased a car battery here and I got a duralast gold with a 3 year warranty they weren't able to install it for me because I came late at night and they were short staffed however they allowed me to use their tools which made the whole entire job much easier and this was after they allowed me to use the testing gear to make sure that it was in fact my battery and not my alternator I recommend autozone because they allow you to loan tools borrow tools and they have pretty good customer service Best part is they're open till midnight and they are the only autozone that's open this late in the area read more

My car had three small problems i was putting off ; windshield wipers, the small light in the trunk and my headlights. I have zero info on cars but i youtube'd some info and all these seemed like things i could solve myself. I came into the store and had a young guy help me find the lights and wipers. Long story short I wasnt able to install one of the wipers on my own so I came back and they were helpful on making the exchange and the other man working made sure to find the right sizes for the wipers and installed the headlights himself. I live next door in the apartment buildings. There's an employee who revs their engine of their motorcycle almost every night and drives off at the late hours of 10-11PM. I've called to complain twice and nothing. I get the same old 'oh I'm sorry I understand.' And no change. If anything the guy is ticked off and revs the engine even more. I can't even begin to explain how loud the engine is.. Trash pick up is 6-7am on Tuesdays. I don't wake up at 6am? These are not business hours? Leaf blowers start 7am. I am so frustrated. Very disappointed with the service. Unfortunately my car battery took a dive on christmas night which left me having to JumpStart my car. My husband told me about autozone having the ability to test and recharge car batteries. Once our battery was turned in at 6:14pm the following day, we were told to come back in an hour and a half to pickup our battery. We waited the time out in the parking lot. Upon our return we were told my battery was completely dead and would not even charge and therefore, we needed a brand new battery, which would run us about $190+ for my specific battery, or more if it was turbo. Luckily, my husband speaks Spanish fluently and overheard two of the workers talking to eachother about keeping my battery for themselves and just trying to get rid of us first. To be on the safe side we took our battery back; despite them continuing to push us to buy a new one. When my husband put my battery back in the car, to our bitter sweet surprise, my ORIGINAL BATTERY was now fully charged and functional. read more
