Aux came out to my home to do some service on my a/c. There was some kind of pipe that was stopped up and they took care of the issue for me. There were multiple diagnostic visits but eventually the issue was properly determined. Service was friendly and informative each visit but the run around with visit 1 and 2 were annoying. Overall, I was very pleased with the professionalism of the techs that visited my home. The prices were reasonable and competitive for the services performed. read more

I noticed my water bill was climbing progressively higher over the last three months. So I scheduled an appointment for AUX Plumbing to inspect my property. After checking on the inside of the house, Hogan the AUX Plumbing Technician checked the yard. He found the leak was coming from the pipe link just next to the meter. A steady stream of water was shooting down into the earth is the reason we didn't see water puddling up. He did a great job of repairing the problem. Really professional, friendly and courteous service. He was also knowledgeable of his craft. I definitely recommend him and his company if you have any Plumbing Work that's needed. read more

Frustrating Experience - Poor Communication & Unhelpful Service I contacted this company last Wednesday when my A/C went out. They scheduled me for the following Thursday, then bumped me to Friday due to volume. Friday morning I was told I was in the 8-12 window, but didn't hear anything until after 3pm, when they finally said no one would be coming and rescheduled me again for Monday. As a single working mom, rearranging my schedule multiple times with no proactive communication was incredibly frustrating. I understand summer is busy, but honest, realistic updates would have made a huge difference. When the tech finally arrived Monday, he misdiagnosed the issue, quoted me, then reversed course 45 minutes later. He seemed unsure, couldn't explain things clearly, and ultimately recommended a full unit replacement -- even after I told him up front that wasn't financially possible. His only other suggestion was to refill refrigerant that he admitted would leak out again in 3 days. Not helpful. And for all that, I still had to pay the $59 service fee -- essentially to lose even more trust in HVAC companies. I ended up getting a second opinion from another company, who quickly fixed the actual issue by replacing a part -- all under $1,000. I won't be using this company again. read more

I hate to tell this story. But. Aux sent out someone to do a " Complimentary plumbing check". They left a hose pipe attached to the water heater telling me it started leaking when they checked it. Also if they turned the knob they may break it and we would need a new water heater ( ours is old but was working perfectly. I wasn't concerned til we moved the hose later. My basement started flooding with hot water. They told me they did not have a plumber available for 3 days! We will never ever use them again. read more

This company is extremely unprofessional and has no urgency for providing their services. I have made 3 different appointments on 3 different days over 2 weeks now. I get put on the schedule only to be cancelled on all 3 times an hour before the work was supposed to be done. The job was very simple too; run an ethernet cable from my modem downstairs, to an office on my second floor. This is crucial for my job, as I am constantly connecting to servers around the state and need a stable wired connection to do so. I have been waiting around for 2 weeks on something that I am required to have for my job. This is unacceptable considering this information was conveyed to them and even acknowledged that it was time sensitive and important to get this done. I should have known something was up when I called and they could immediately send a "technician" out to give me an estimate. 1st thing he says after coming to the door was "how long have you been "members" with us? Me: Not good! 3 hours and an estimate totally $10,950, I finally got the estimate for the effing fan for $174.00!! Fan not lowered and we're never calling this company again!! They are con artist!! They charge you $49.00 for a service call no matter if you get any work done or not!! They "technicians" are not licensed electricians, they are sales reps! They will tell you your house is not up to code and scare the crap out of you!! If your house was built in 1974nlike ours was, you do not need to have your electrical be up to code! You are "grandfathered" in. There may be a few things that you can change like new surge outlets and fire/carbon monoxide detectors in every room, but those things don't cost $10,950!! Be warned. I recently had the misfortune of my washer dying. In hopes it could be restored, I visited the Aux Mechanical website and filled out a service request form, including the make/model of my washer (I didn't want the technician showing up without the proper parts) and a description of the problems. I was told I would be contacted. I hadn't heard back in several days, so I called in and left a message, again specifying the make/model and a description of the malfunction. Somebody shortly returned my call and set up an appointment. She told me there would be a $50 service fee. Okay. I figured even at $50 + the cost of repairs, that could come out cheaper than a new washer. And if he told me the problem would be greater than the cost of a new washer to repair, I'd only be out $50. A technician showed up at my house, with absolutely no clue why he was there. Once I told him it was to repair a washer, without ever even touching the appliance, he told me I'd just "wasted" my $50 (his words). He said for appliances, there was ALSO a flat $180 diagnostic fee before they could begin repairs, and that once you factored in parts and repairs on top of the two fees, it would be cheaper to just buy a new washer. The $50 "service fee" was just for merely showing up (luckily, he later waived that fee after I started to complain, which meant I was just out the time for meeting him). Obviously, if I'd have been told that there would be an out of pocket expense of $230 before any repairs would even take place, that would have affected my decision to use the company. If they know they were coming out to repair an appliance, and they know they always charges $180 to "diagnose" the problem, that should be disclosed up front. I wrote the company to see if I could get them to address this, but it's been nearly a month with no response, so I figured I would warn others. read more

My wife and I returned home from a weekend beach trip to no air conditioning. The next morning, we scheduled a service call with a local company to look into what repairs were necessary. After determining that our 12 year old AC unit was beyond repair, we solicited replacement quotes from several companies. At the recommendation of a family member, we contacted Aux first. Every other company made their appointment to submit a bid on replacement equipment. Aux proactively called several times throughout the day to assure us that a technician would make it to our house by the end of the day. However, at the end of the day, I missed a call from John in dispatch and was left a voicemail indicating that no one would make it out. I called back, spoke to John directly, expressed my disappointment, but still requested to be called back the next morning to see if I could work out an opportunity to let someone in. It's almost 4 pm and we have not received a call back. Bottom line, they didn't show up when they said they would show up. And they didn't work to make a sales opportunity a priority. read more

After booking a repair appointment, I was told a dispatcher would be in contact to let me know when someone would arrive. After being left for hours in 90+ degree heat, I called again to ask when someone would be arriving. I was told all technicians were busy but someone WOULD be coming that day. After 6pm that day, I got a call to say no one would be coming but they could rebook the appointment for Monday. I was given no apology for being lied to twice. When I asked why they did not let me know sooner so I could have booked someone else for the job, she did not answer answer the question, only said again "we can rebook you for Monday". If this company lies about showing up for a job, I'm sure they would lie about the repairs needed and over charge as well. First let me say that the technician did repair the problem ( an electrical switch that needed rewiring) but my problem is with the amount the company charges for their services. We were caught in a situation where this repair needed to be fixed for a home closing and AUX was the only company that could come out in time. My floor recently flooded and the water got into my air ducts through the vents. So I called AUX Mechanical and they quickly sent someone out the next morning to check and see see how much water damage had been done, and there was a fairly good amount. Well, insurance is covering all the duct work, thank goodness. I had fast response time and friendly service. I am now about to schedule the duct work to be repaired. The only reason I give four stars is that their diagnostic fee just to check my air ducts is high. Thanks AUX, for having a quick response with my water concern, and confirming the damage. read more

My company had two HVAC units under service contracts with AUX. One of them finally died. Obviously AUX mechanical then sold a $8,000+ HVAC unit to my company. During the sales process, despite the fact that I explicitly asked the financing to be under my LLC (as required for tax and liability reasons) it was placed under MY NAME. Keep in mind that MY COMPANY actually had the contract with AUX - not me. They had my FEIN and my DBA but the unit was STILL financed under MY NAME. There was a good reason for this: Wells Fargo was the financial entity and AUX was misusing a WF consumer home loan product to finance a commercial HVAC unit. When I called Wells Fargo to try to move them move the loan from my name and into my LLC's, Wells Fargo was horrified that this product was being used this way and IMMEDIATELY abandoned the loan. That left AUX without a way to finance the unit. My attorney told me this was their responsibility and to get an answer from AUX about how they planned to resolve the issue. When asked about financing I was given the runaround - passed from person to person - each inventing odd ways to avoid responsibility for the issue. When asked to speak to the owner I was told the owner "did not take phone calls." At this point, I contacted the state of Alabama consumer protection division (a lone individual) literally said "One school of thought might be that you have a free AC unit..." Of course I had no intention of taking an $8000 unit for free. My company was in the market for a new unit and intended to pay for it. But AUX for their part refused to explore alternate financing options. In the end, Regions took over the financing thanks to the effort of my diligent and knowledgeable account manager. He really saved the day. So we let AUX off the hook. And on the advice of my attorney I deducted the origination fee from the amount owed. AUX (over the phone) agreed that this was fair and that the amount would be honored. Of course the person who arrived to claim the check refused to take a penny less than the original total. He left unhappy. I had the presence of mind to make sure the check was labeled "final payment". Lastly I was told by the head of sales at AUX that the sales team was now being "educated" in the proper use of commercial vs consumer financing. He implied but did not state that this was required by Wells Fargo to continue selling their financial services. Regardless, look elsewhere. You can do better. Don't be their next victim. read more

11/19/2020 Unfortunately I gave this company another try after a No Show in May 2020. Same story. Another No Show. Only after I left 2 messages at 5:45pm and 6 pm the evening of my appointment did I receive a follow up call claiming they had called me earlier to let me know their plumber had to leave for the day. This "call" did not happen. I did receive a call letting me know that someone would be coming after 12 pm that day...but no follow up call regarding this need to "reschedule". This might be an ok company if they ever decided to show up. 5 months ago review I scheduled an appointment for a plumbing check. I was called the day of regarding the appointment and confirmed. No one showed or called. The next day the company called but left no message. A month later they called and left a message that it was time to get my plumbing issue checked. I texted back that they no showed to my appointment a month earlier with no follow up. Two weeks after this call they called again. I told them they missed their chance since they no showed 6 weeks prior. They insisted that this plumbing check was a part of my plan with them since I had a disposal installed a year prior. They commented they saw no record of a scheduled appointment, appointment confirmation call, etc. interesting since they were emailing me that I was due for my HVAC inspection earlier in the year- no mention of plumbing at that time. After the technician looked over the water heater for about 45 seconds, he stressed that our water heater needed to be replaced. He also stated that our water filter system needed to be replaced. He gave us price quotes that ranged from 4K - 18k. I had my brother come look at the water heater and he identified the problem and fixed the problem in under 20 minutes and now we have hot water. We realized our garbage disposal was leaking and I was going out of town and couldn't do it my self. My wife called Aux. At first the repairman tried to charge over $1,200 and then came down to $849. This was for at most a $100 disposal and one hour worth of work. Something as a non-plumber I could do myself within an hour. At a minimum we were overcharged by $500 for a simple garbage disposal installation. Unfortunately they took advantage of a situation with a wife home alone and a leaking garbage disposal. To make it worse, they had to come out a second time because it was not installed properly the first time. And all they wanted to do while they were here was sell an expensive service plan. Would not recommend Aux due to price or service. read more

Requested quote for replacing hot water heater on a Saturday, and, after specifically asking if the $49.99 fee was higher on the weekend, and receiving a "No, it's the same all the time", I scheduled a rep. He looked at the water heater, less than five minutes, then wrote a quote for over $3000 to replace heater! Then, he told me the dispatch fee would be $169.99! He lowered that to $140, and said that the dispatcher was probably new and didn't know! I don't know how they stay in business! read more

The places cheats people on their prices. They tell you its labor and work,but what you dont know is they really put in a plan you didnt agree to pay for... If you start getting calls for plumbing inspections or electrical inspection even hvac inspection and they tell you it came with the work provided to you in the past its a lie you paid for whatever plan they wanted you to get the most common one is a $300 plan same goes for banks quarles its their sister company. I wish I had read some of these reviews before I let the Aux technician in my house. I had a technician come out to service my AC. This was supposed to be one of those seasonal inspections of an older unit. I had already replaced the old unit that they had info about. I had a new AC unit installed by another company. The Technician shows up with a pre filled out form recommending replace the entire system. My new HVAC system had already been installed for almost 4 months, The issue now is that 10 days later I HAVE A PROBLEM with a new unit. LETS see..... the area where the technician made adjustments is the same area where I found a pressure nut loosened. This loose nut allows the coolant to slowly be released causing other problems to later be diagnosed. One of the symptoms of low coolant inside a system, almost burning up the compressor, which is something they would have made more money to install. Fishy, coincidental ?????? Sounds like a set up to me. Once the new technician shows up and I unveil this (plan) to him about how this is the only area that his co-worker made any adjustments on a new system that was perfectly fine. Notice - I just wanted the seasonal annual inspection done. So almost 20 minutes goes by now there is another AUX vehicle parked at my door, but this technician never gets out of his vehicle. Don't get me wrong, I think there may be some good people at AUX but this treatment of the customers has to stop. And at if this continues AUX wont be around much longer. read more

Never call these crooks!!! If you think you received a good deal then you didn't get a second opinion and were robbed. $793 quote for a $120 part that wasn't even the problem! An additional $533 for $20 part that was the problem! That's one heck of a labor charge don't you think? A friend got the old part working until it could be replaced the next day. That's right, we went all day in the sweltering heat, when he got it working in less than 5 minutes. We even had a financial advisor coming out the following week to quote us on what a new unit would cost. Scheduled an a.m. Appt to install a dishwasher. Rep called to say the tech had one repair before me,ok. Rep called at 10:30 to say tech delayed with a bigger job. Tech arrived at 3:30. Tech quoted installation fee which was more than I paid for the appliance. The fee was reduced after I purchased a maintenance plan for my heating and air units. Our heat wasn't working well on a cold night, so we called this company. The Technician told my wife that our entire HVAC system had to be replaced to the tune of $8,000. We called another company for a second opinion.They told us the HVAC was absolutely fine and there was simply an unconnected part of our backup heat in the attic that needed to be connected.
