Asked for a regular acrylic full set and the guy convinced me to try s and s powder instead for $40 instead of the regular $27. I choose the color I want and the guy ends up choosing a darker pink and told me it would end up being lighter..it didn't. I hated the color and he just painted regular black polish over it. I left beyond pissed because I'm a regular there and when I brought it to their attention I didn't like the outcome of the nails they still charged me full price and told me if I wanted to change them I'd have to pay the original $27 on top of the almost $50 I spent to get regular polish....needless to say I'm never going back. Good in a pinch, but the communication barrier is more than frustrating. I tried explaining to three different people that I wanted gel color only, no manicure, and that I did not have gel polish currently on that they needed to remove. The price sheet lists this service as $18, but no one could understand what I was asking for. I thought one person did but wound up getting a full gel manicure. I tried to stop her but she didn't understand me so I just wound up paying the $30 for a gel manicure. To be fair, she did a good job. Just not what I wanted. read more

I don't recommend going to this nail salon if you actually want great service. I went in to get a pedicure and the person doing my feet asked me if i wanted my nails cut down, I asked her to file instead. She did as I requested at first then picked up the clippers and went to cutting my toe nails. Right there I had an attitude but I allowed her to continue. She begins to scrub my feet and i look down and she's using SOFT TOUCH HAND SOAP!!!! I've never experienced anything like this before. Horrible customer service . I don't ever complain usually although this place is just 100% horrible. Women are rude and Ellen is extremely rough. I went in yesterday to receive a pedicure and fill in. There were no questions about what pedicure I wanted . After 10 minutes of sitting in chair woman started on my toes and watched the television the whole time. It was odd and the paint is already starting to come off my toes . Next I went for fill in and they decided to just paint over the nails with gel instead of filling them in. I said fine as it had already taken a hour to get the pedicure . The girls gossiped the whole time in their language and one even started talking to another client of how she liked to f***. I finally got out of there only to have one of my nails break today. I went back for a fix today and then is when I had the wonderful opportunity of meeting Ellen ( the man woman). ... She was incredibly rude and rough!!!! The nail is not even and when she pushed my fingers together to check length and the skin stuck together because of the glue and I had to pull them apart she just laughed and said sorry. Everything was super hygienic which is exactly what I need after hearing people's pedicure horror stories at other places. I'm sorry Ava Nails Spa....It pains me to write this update. Despite what the other reviews say I've always received nothing but great customer service. I have to say the truth of the matter is my pedicures just don't last that long when I get them done here. It's a shame b/c I really like that this place is new and the bowl liners really win me over. I got a pedicure on June 28th. They weren't too busy, but after sitting there for about 10 minutes they told me to go do some more shopping and come back at 1pm. I didn't mind. Well I went to Ulta and got held up waiting for a brow wax at the benefit brow bar..I came back at 1:30...they were packed. I told the front desk receptionist that I understood I was late and would take my place in line again....they would have nothing of it. See - that's what I mean by great customer service. So I was promptly seated and got a pedicure. It looked just OK, not sloppy, but it didn't wow me. It was done by a younger male - I honestly was a little put off - but that's my hang up. The clearcoat was kinda messy - I couldn't see it, but I could feel it around my big toe cuticles. But they looked good. Fast forward to today, July 9th. I took off my socks after work and a have a big old chip in my big toe...the toe with the sloppy clearcoat application. I'm sorry, but that's less then two weeks. I can paint my own damn nails and have it last longer. So I just won't be coming back for a pedicure. I may try a mani, but I just don't know. I have a wedding coming up and the bride has mandated french manicures. Yeah, in 2014...whatevs, it's her day. I don't need it to last so I may go to Ava's b/c they are quite nice and I like that it's brand new. And really, when I read some of the reviews here I'm disgusted that folks are name calling. It's fine to not like the services, but to talk about someone's looks and call them manly looking is in poor taste IMO. I've been there several times and never witnessed poor customer service. Came here the other day and was extremely disappointed in the service. My nail tech was too busy hollering at customers who came in to greet them... Like are you doing my nails or greeting guests? There was obviously someone at the front desk.... Also, place was dirty, I was repulsed at finding nail dust on the gel nail polish options... My nail tech clearly had her mind somewhere else. She messed up my nails and I had to take it all off which wasted so much of my time..... Also, other nail techs were just on there iPads or phones, they should be cleaning cause the place was a MESS! If it was possible, I would give them zero stars. I have been getting my nails done for yearsss, at various salons and all different types (regular polish, gel, acrylic, pink&white), I've probably tried them all. I decided to try this place out because it is convenient to where I live and a physically beautiful salon, however their technicians are HORRIBLE. I went in and got a full set of acrylic, pretty basic. My technician, Tina, was moving incredibly fast (honestly, probably the fastest I have ever had my nails done) and being very sloppy. I kept thinking well, maybe they will turn out just fine. They did not. There was paint and acrylic powder EVERYWHERE on my hands. I am not one to write bad reviews as I am in the service industry but this is absolutely HORRIFIC. Not only did they come out horribly but due to an accident I had a couple years back one of my nails grows differently than a normal nail does, when she started hurting me I said "no", that's a fairly universal term regardless of how much english you don't speak. She proceeded and it resulted in me bleeding and being in plain the entire time she was doing my nails, oh and let me just tell you how GREAT chemicals feel going into a cut. End result: save your money and go to a salon that knows that they are doing and does a quality job because you are not going to get that here. Place seemed nice however once we got in the staff was CLUeLEsS! We wanted opi gel nail and the guy kept showing us different brands. To top it all off with Ellen totally botched my cousins nails up. When she asked to redo of fix it she acted clueless. She painted the sides of the skin more than the nail itself. Will never go back to this place. Extremely awful experience. Never again. The guy tried painting over my gel polish instead of taking it off. It was lumpy I had to tell him to fix it twice. And two hours later my feet were sooo dry. The absolute worst manicure of my life. Honestly I could've done a better job doing the whole thing with my left hand. Happened to be shopping in the area on a Sunday and knowing my usual spot was closed today, I figured what the heck...let's give this place a shot. I'm guessing by the other reviews I got Ellen. I'm pretty upset because before making my way in here my nails looked pretty good, just in need of a touch up. Seriously I had more polish on my skin than my nails, the ends of my nails are rough/broken/uneven, and I have small bleeding cuticles. I thought that might've been the case because she was on the phone for half of my time there, but after reading other reviews I guess that's her norm. Besides my nails looking bad she was gossiping with other employees in another language and kept taking time instead of getting on with this massacre also known as a manicure to clean off her supplies and nail polish lids. Thanks for wasting my time. Being that I get manis regularly I feel like I should be an easy customer- God help you if it's been a while!! Do not let the glam fool you, they are not clean! I went to get my eyebrows done. As I was walking to the back room, the lady that greeted me as she was taking the trash out from the room reserved for waxing services. I laid down, she comes back in right behind me. She squirts a couple of pumps of hand sanitizer and approaches me. I told her I would feel more comfortable if she washed her hands. She insisted it was fine, since she sanitized. I said no, I am not comfortable with that. (It is frightening that a place of business like this does not know that hand washing is more effective and hygenic.) I should have left, but she left the room and came back patting her hands dry. I assumed she washed them. But the next day my face broke out around my eye and forehead areas. I've never had a break out like this before, I really believe she either 1. added more sanitizer on her hands or 2. put her hands in the trash and then started touching my face. I came in to get my eyebrow waxed at about 10:20 a.m. The staff was very fast with helping me and getting me in the waxing room. Unfortunately it was TOO fast! She did not do a good job on my eyebrows. They weren't clean and she left a bunch of stray hairs. I asked her 3 times to please clean up them up before I just decided to leave. I am very unhappy. I went in there to get a new full set and all was going well until she began to file down my existing set to help get them off because they were too thick and it seemed from there she didn't want to be doing my nails at all. She didn't try to speak to me the entire time and didn't even address me when she needed me to move my hands for her. Which is okay with me but I know I've read a few reviews on here about some people doing that here so I just wanted to add that in this review. She filed my nails a lot which I did appreciate at first because it seemed she really cared about the shape but she ended up filing my skin as well and cut two of my fingers very deeply and didn't even notice. I tend to never tell nail techs when they're doing something wrong or hurting me because I assume they don't want to be told they're doing wrong and I didn't want to seem rude so I guess she didn't know she had cut me even though my two cut fingers were visibly red. It's fine if she didn't notice but after that she did continue to file even more once I had the color and everything on my nails so the sides and tips of my nails have no color on them at all. The shape of my nails are very nice though so that's a plus with all the filing. They also just seemed to be in a huge rush when they were putting my iridescent powder on, I can literally see streak marks and missing spots where she didn't go over my nails properly because she just quickly rubbed the sponge across my nails. I was also told that they can do it like the picture I had showed them but it's not anything like the picture at all and I mean at alllllll even though they seemed confident saying they can do it just like the photo. Even though it still is a pretty color it's not really what I asked for. It is a very nice place and a great atmosphere for the most part so I'm hoping I just caught them on a bad day. read more

So despite all of the bad reviews I had read, I decided to go here to get my eyebrows done. First, they waxed my eyebrows not in a private room but where people are getting pedicures. I was propped upright in a pedicure chair. Second, the lady who arched my eyebrows made one significantly thinner than the other. I would NOT recommend this salon to anyone ever in life. This place is a joke I called to make a nail appointment and they said they don't do appointments they only take walk ins. So I called ahead of time to see of Nancy would be able to get me the girl that answered the phone said yes. When I got there I signed on only to see that someone else checked the yes box for an appointment so I asked hey I thought we weren't able to make appointments the girl gave me a bullshit shit excuse and then told me that Nancy will take me in an hour. So I sat down upfront only to be pull to the back by the so call "manager" , while back there I waited for an hour and a half. I finally stop one of the technicians aside to ask her is Nancy still here... she went and spoke with nancy wjo told her she isn't taling anymore clients for the day and to speak with the manager who then told speak to nancy... I walked up to Nancy and said hey if you were booked you should've told me. Then she proceeded to say ummm why didn't you make an appointment I said I called to do that and someone said you all don't except appointments only walk in... then she said oh yeah we don't do appointments... at that point I am confused and exhausted from waiting and basically trying to get a pedicure. Ugh! I should have read these reviews before! I usually don't complain, but yesterday was absolutely ridiculous. I went to the salon for a manicure, I decided to get gel nails and I got Ellen... yeah, cuticles bled but they were tiny cuts so I didn't make such a big deal (that should've been my red flag though). I decided to try eyelashes, HUGE mistake. She assured me that "they'll looked very natural". In the middle of the session we were pulled out of the room because there was another client going for wax (Apparently is the only room for wax, eyelashes, etc). By the time I left I had 1/4 of an inch of black glue on my eyelashes! Yup, a Drag queen looked more natural than me! When I pointed that out, her answer was that otherwise they wouldn't be noticeable. They charged me $70 for gel with mood color, wax (eyebrows and upper lip) and eyelashes. I ran into this shop for a pedicure and manicure one day I was off since it's close to my house and my previous Nail salon is on south end & way too far to visit as much as I go. Jenny did my nails and she was so friendly and down to earth, I fell in love. The salon is welcoming & very classy looking. I've only seen Jenny so I can't speak for the work of the other techs but I continue to go here every couple weeks for her to do my hands & feet. She always squeezes me in & she knows exactly what I may like before I even come in. There's a husband & wife usually there to greet you-their English is very good and they are very friendly. I just walked into the place and the first thing the lady does is tell me that they are closed. Mind you it is 6:30 and they don't close until 8 Monday through Saturday and it is Saturday. This place is awful and totally RUSHED my service. I came in to have acrylic nails removed. Instead of allowing them to soak they attempted to just pop them off like they were press ons and damaged my nails. These people are incompetent and very stupid. If you are removing nails as a professional nail salon, common sense would tell you to allow them to soak in acetone to soften the acrylic up. I hate this place and will never return, but Im sure they don't care. All they care about is money. There are much better nail salons in the surrounding areas that aren't asian owned. read more

She left the tips of my nails untouched leaving them rough. Did not clean the extra polish left under the nail and on my actual skin. 0 stars!! I got a manicure on 11/3 with the young lady at Table 6 and was in Urgent Care by 11/10 with a pretty severe nail infection. By 11/11 the pain was so unbearable, I checked in the ER! Then the design I wanted would have been another $19.....so I had to choose a "regular" polish which was $5 to paint all 10 fingers. What a ripoff.
