I want to be very clear and factual, because I was respectful and patient throughout this entire experience. This was my second visit to this salon. During my first visit, I requested a design the nail tech said she could do, but ultimately could not, so I settled for a simpler design and paid without issue. For my fill-in appointment, I arrived on time for my 5:30 PM appointment, but my service did not begin until 6:00 PM. I showed the same nail tech the design I wanted, and she confirmed she could do it. Unfortunately, she struggled throughout the service, repeatedly removing and restarting the design. By the time the salon was closing, my nails were still not finished. After nearly two hours, around 7:45 PM, I politely asked for the design to be removed and a plain polish applied instead. I did not raise my voice or cause a scene, and I even apologized for the tech having to stay past closing. I paid in full and left calmly, although I was unhappy with the service. The following morning, I received a text from someone claiming to be a manager, stating that I was BANNED from the salon like I'm some kind of criminal. I found this unprofessional and disappointing. At no point was I rude or disrespectful. I was patient, communicative, and understanding, even when the service could not be completed as agreed. I would have appreciated an apology or accountability from an incompetent nail tech rather than being dismissed for calmly expressing dissatisfaction with a service that was not delivered as promised. What I received instead was deflection and lazy management. Sounds like a lawsuit for discrimination. Be blessed. read more

Bad service. I was disappointed because they said they have a nursing discount, but apparently not without your badge. I have a picture of my badge, a picture of me WINNING AN AWARD as a nurse, and my email account with my employer. The person at the front desk (owner or manager) was very rude and literally made me GO HOME TO GET MY BADGE, and the way she told me I would have to do this was rude and condescending. That is obviously not a discount to make their business friendly to nurses, as most nurses do not have their badge on them at all times. I will not go back here nor would I recommend any of my colleagues to come here. It was quite a let down. A man did my nails and that's not the bad part, he had dirt in his hands while doing my nails. I asked for a cursive M and they gave me a regular one after I said it 3 times, he seemed unsure of what he was doing so I didn't bother. My toes were cute but I had to say something about the color because it was much lighter than I had picked out on the example set. As soon as I said something, the girl that was doing my toes said she noticed the color was off too. I wasn't sure why she didn't talk to me and was going to continue to paint them even though she knew it wasn't the color I wanted. However, the main problem I had was with my fingernails. I asked for almond shape French tip. They did my nails and toes at the same time which is very uncomfortable. I had to twist my body so that she could do my fingernails. She asked if I wanted the fingernails trimmed and I said no. I then noticed that the pointer finger on my right hand was shorter than the rest and I said well if you have to that's okay. She said no that she would fix it another way. She added an acrylic nail and just put a little nail glue on and painted it like the rest. I have had my fair share of acrylic nails and have never seen anyone do this but I was going to trust the process. I had to tell her that the acrylic nail was much longer than the rest but she was telling me it was the same. When she was done, the shape was off and the white was too thick on all of them. The lady said that she had to make it that thick to hide my natural nail line -- I have never had that problem before. The white line goes straight across instead of following a more rounded line (that looks more natural). I wasn't super happy but was going to pay and leave because the lady was clearly not trying to make me happy and argued with me anytime I had an issue. While I was paying I noticed that the acrylic nail was not attached properly and there was a huge gap between the fake nail and my real nail. I told the lady and she came over and clipped my real nail down as far as she could. Then she added nail glue (like from a press on set) to the gap and squeezed my finger as hard as she could for a minute. I told her I wasn't comfortable with that "fix" and I wanted it properly fixed. She told me to sit down and she just continued clipping my real nail and then drilled the underneath a little. I kept telling her that it wasn't fixed and I wasn't happy and she kept saying that it was normal. This was not normal at all. I ended up with a super thick layer (since she had added so much nail glue). She kept arguing with me so I knew it was time to leave. I told the girls at the register and they offered me $10 off. The nail techs do a great job, the inside is beautiful, and the color choices are great, but the pricing is always off. Tried one last time this weekend for a "Mother's Day discount" they advertised on Instagram but never got the discount. Without pricing transparency, it wasn't clear until I called after and asked for more information. They said you have to show a picture of the Instagram post, which is not stated anywhere. I just don't think it's good business to have the same service done but pay different prices each time, while also deceptively promoting a discount but then not honoring it. read more

Im new to the area and Sassy was recommended to me by a friend. Came on a Saturday morning for a gel mani, regular pedi and it was excellent. Win was very detailed and my nails are neat and even just like I like them. She was careful with my previously damaged nails, which I appreciated. I wanted a gel manicure and I wanted to try a new salon as my previous nail tech recently moved. My first impression of this salon was wonderful! There was parking right in front of the salon, I am not sure if there is parking in the back, but that was convenient. When you walk in the first thing that hits you is the beautiful, bright and open lay out of the salon. There are two bars on both sides for hand services and pedicure chairs in the back on both sides as well. The theme color is white and everything in the salon is sparkling clean! Gorgeous! The customer service was top tier! The receptionist greeted me pleasantly with a big smile at before 10 am in the morning, which was so charming. I was sat down immediately and was provided a vast color collection to select my color from. My nail tech Amy arrived shortly after and was sweet. She was fast and meticulous with my nails. My shape was perfect, she gave me a third coat of polish to make sure my nails popped and she did not cut my skin at all! She was clean and efficient, which is what I love in a nail tech. The prices was reasonable and my services were absolutely worth the cost. I would definitely recommend this salon to anyone looking for a new salon home in Charlotte, NC. Just go somewhere else !! I had a terrible experience. First off, I went yesterday and already have some sort of infection. It's throbbing and hot. I went in asking for something pretty easy and they couldn't do it so I settled for chrome overlay (which was $15 extra). I got a full set of acrylic and it took over 2 hours. To top it off a few of the nails are completely crooked. I tried to tell them 3 times and they just kept saying "wait until she's done". At this point I was exhausted and just left when finished. Lastly this cost $90 before tip... $90! I am happy to spend even more than that for great service but this was the worst experience I've had in years! I'm so disappointed and sick over paying $90 for something I'm going to have to go get fixed by someone else ... let alone figure out what to do with this infection! read more

Decided to visit a new nail salon for a pedicure as a mid week treat to myself. After a quick search near my home I called Sassy Nail Bar and asked about their wait time. It was around 5:00PM with no wait. I rushed over. I was seated for my pedicure immediately. It's a cute little spot with 12 pedicure chairs and 8 seats for manicures. All manicures are done at the bar. Clients sit close and the tech stands while doing your nails. Very small waiting area. Parking is limited. I ended up parking in the lot near dilworth bar which was okay and not against the rules. Holly did my pedicure she was very quiet. She offered me a glass of wine. They have red, white and soda. I got the sassy pedicure $42 and an additional $25 for gel polish. Overall it's a decent spot. I will most likely return until I find a new spot on this side of town. read more

I decided to try this place out when my normal place was too busy to take me - LESSON LEARNED. This was the worst nail job I've ever had done. To start, the whole experience took nearly 3 hours for a basic pedicure and dip nails without tips. In terms of covid, there were plexi glass borders and they ask you to wash your hands but that's the only precautions they are taking. The person doing my SNS dip left them so chunky on top that it is higher than my finger. I asked for them to be shaped a bit thinner (more coffin esk) and was told that would be an extra $10 (correct me but I'm pretty sure a manicure comes with nail shaping too). Then comes the end. I asked for a little accent on the top of the nail in silver, just two nails, which I was told would again be an extra $10. Seems a bit extreme, but okay I get its extra work. Not only did this take an extra 15 minutes, it was already messed up before I was leaving! Left it a glob of glitter nail polish that has already chipped. After this terribly disappointing experience I had to pay $85! Will not be coming back here and will have to go somewhere else to get these terrible nails fixed read more

They offer all your typical services: gel, dip, acrylic, tips, regular, manis/pedis. They know their colors really well too. I couldn't remember what color I got last time and Lyn who did my nails totally figured it out. Every manicure comes with a great little shoulder massage. Love this perk! They always offer a beverage: wine, tea, water, etc. They have tons of colors!!! Orly, OPI, K Sky, Essie. Their tools are clean and the salon itself is clean and spacious. Decided to check this place out after reading reviews on Yelp, but I don't think I'll be returning for a manicure or pedicure here. Maybe it was my technician, but it wasn't a good experience. I'm giving 2 stars because the place was clean, and they did take sanitary measures for their pedicure bowls. I went for a sassy pedicure and a regular manicure. I will say that the massage portion of the pedicure was wonderful and very relaxing. Also their massage chair was nice, but nothing more special than any other nail salon. The pedicure itself was more painful than relaxing, and I actually had to ask him to be more gentle because it felt like he was trying to scrape off the top layer of my toenails. He also cut one of my cuticles which made it bleed (now, my toes were manicured like 2 weeks before, so it's not like this was my toes first pedi of the season and there was winter wear to deal with), which in my opinion is just laziness. As my feet were soaking, he completed my mani, and I think he was timing himself for a Guinness book of records, because that couldn't have been more than 10 minutes, 15 max. I had to ask him to go back and clean up some of the polish that was on my skin, not my nails, and I still have top coat all over my fingers. Also, they're not filed even or buffed smooth, I definitely need to buff a few sharp nails down. I could have given myself a better manicure. All in all, it was $50 for a "pampering" session that I need to go back and fix and don't feel pampered. read more

It was super easy to make one via the Yelp app. I heard back within a few hours. I went for a gel manicure. They had a great selection of polish colors to choose from. I also look for nail places that are sanitary and this place was great! They use sterilized tools that come out of a bag. I noticed they also have the bowls for the pedicures lined with a plastic bag for easy cleanup. I took advantage of a tip someone left about paying with cash. While 5% isn't a whole lot off, it's still a nice perk! I will definitely be back for a polish change and to try out a cocktail. read more

My favorite Nail Salon in Charlotte! Make sure to make an appointment or you could have a bit of a wait. I went on a Monday evening with my mom and we had the best service! It wasn't that busy and with our appointment we were seated right away. Since they weren't that busy we were able to get our manicures and pedicures done at the same time, which was great. It even came with an amazing shoulder massage. The dip manicure managed to make it through a Vegas and Ecuador trip without chipping once. Great quality and they lasted for weeks.
