I need to pay $89 for a full car inspection to have the warning go away. This service is included in the price at the dealership, but Avalon charges for it. I wanted a second opinion before spending so much money, and it turns out I just needed a simple patch job to fix the leak. Since our regular place was booked out, we came to Avalon. Avalon charged us $161 just to look at our car. Then wanted us to pay up front before they ordered the part they said we needed. We used our "emergency fund" to pay them; money we have to pay back with interest. A week and a half later, turns out the problem isn't what they thought. Now they say it's a recall issue so we can go to a dealer to get it fixed for free. $161, interest on the $1100 we pulled out, two trips downtown, two missed workdays, and almost two weeks waiting--all wasted because of their mistake. Also my husband's comments were that you could have chosen to charge us more and did not express any concern regarding this review, which I discussed with him before posting. Had a clutch put in a golf r. We had them order the clutch which took a month to come in and at the same time we ordered a new key. When we had the clutch done they hadn't ordered the key yet. The service guy gave an estimate of three days to complete the clutch, two weeks later the clutch wasn't done. At first they blamed it on the wrong oil pan being installed. Another half week and it turned out they were positioning the oil pan wrong. At this time the key still hadn't been ordered. When the key came in two weeks later we were back to have the key programmed. A fifteen minute process took over two hours and somehow they broke the oil dipstick during this process. They did replace the dipstick. I understand things not going as planned but every time they gave an estimate of time on a repair they weren't even close. I also have reservations about their so called master technicians. Replacing a clutch on an mk6 golf r isn't easy but it is a standard repair. They charged roughly 2 grand in labor for a clutch replacement. I don't mind spending more for good service but the service people dealing with customers are clueless and their arrogance is completely intolerable and we will not be going back. read more

Great service at Avalon! I've been coming to Avalon for years and they always treat me right. The service on my Audi's is always top notch and with warranty on repairs I no longer have to worry about walking out the door and the repair not working a week later. I don't have the latest and newest Audis, but Avalon is always willing and happy to work on my vehicles and treat it as if it was brand new. Their facility is clean and comfortable. They even have a work area so if you have to bring you laptop in to get some work done you can connect to their wireless and grab a cup of coffee and be in your "office" while you wait for your car. Repairs are done with pride and they are always willing to work with you, whether is finding the right parts, getting it done in a timely manner or their willingness to try to find reasonable alternatives to big repairs Brian and his staff come through every time. I have no hesitation about bringing my German vehicles to Avalon. I know I'll get an honest, high quality repair at a reasonable price by a team that takes care of their customers. Lousy attitude in service department. I attempted to get a copy of a previous estimate only to be denied. Stated I'd love to give them business all I needed was the information that they already provided. I'd never take a vehicle here, no transparency in their estimates. I stated to you multiple times that I own the vehicle, however I have yet to register and insure it. Given that, it would have to be towed to a location I was looking for a rough idea of the cost not any guarantees in pricing as I stated to you. How dare you publicly try and make me sound like a liar. Given the length of your response and the fact that you twisted the truth I am glad to not be doing business with you. I can see why you have the time to publish lengthy responses on Yelp, it must be from the lack of business. I will be publishing reviews on other outlets as well. If you gave the same amount of time to my requests for information as you do to your yelp reputation you may have generated new business. read more

Challenged these guys parts pricing in June, swapped some emails with the owner and GM, we agreed on a price and they performed service. Scheduled an appointment last Friday for this week and then rec'd an e-mail this morning (day before the scheduled appointment) stating they refuse to work with me. Had high hopes for this place because it was convenient to our home. BIG mistake. Didn't take long to realize this was going to be expensive. Started out with a 160.00 fee for "complete inspection". Three days later, we are told that BMW no longer had a replacement part and we would have to "upgrade" to the newer version. Suddenly our thermostat replacement jumped to 800 dollars. Agreed to the repair and didn't hear anything for 2 more days. Called them on the 3rd day and was told car was being road tested and would be ready by end of day. Car was delivered to me (after SEVEN days) in the LIMP mode. Battery was nearly dead and that causes the car to go into LIMP mode. (I guess this so-called "high end" repair shop doesn't have a battery chaWas told that further diagnosis would be necessary to determine why car was in LIMP mode. Took the car home. Consulted the internet. Found similar situations and performed the EXTREMELY SIMPLE repair myself. The $160.00 "complete inspection" should have discovered the issue quickly, but didn't. I originally had my car worked on at Prestige Imports but after a month and a lapse of communication and knowledge they could not diagnose the reason why my cayenne would not stay on. I am very disappointed in Avalon. I called and asked if they could repair the convertible top on my 2005 Mini Cooper S. They said they could do the repair. My top would not open all the way. They had my car 9 days and the top still does not work. I spent almost $900. They did replace a broken part but the top still does not work. Avalon is not open on Saturdays and the 4th of July holiday was during the time they had my car. When I went to pick up my car on 7/6/14 the top would not go down. I was given a ride home but not offered a loaner car. When I called on 7/7/17 I was told they would not be working on my car again until Monday 7/10/17. I was not offered a loaner car. I explained I might need a car due to family coming to town. After thinking about the situation I decided to pick up my car on 7/7/17. I felt like I was not being taken care of in a timely manner. When I arrived to pick up my car Tom, the service manager, watched me walk in front of his car and he drove away. I spoke with Dustin about my dissatisfaction and he replied "maybe this is an issue that would be better for the dealer to take care of." He asked if I wanted to speak to the manger Tom. I explained that Tom was the person I had dealing with all along. I just wish they would have told me they weren't equipped to handle my issue in the beginning. So I have been getting some postcards in the mail over the last 9-12 months for this place. (I think they are in a new location?) Anyway I have been somewhat intrigued. The other day I decided to check them out since I was close to their location and my car needs a new headlight bulb. So I call my BMW place to ask what a new bulb would cost and they told $35. Seems like a lot but OK. So I then go into Avalon Motorsports to see what they would charge. The guy at the desk takes all my information and inputs it into the computer. I was hesitant to give it to him but I thought I like the looks of this place--clean, modern and appealing. And I want to like this place since it is closer to my house and a lot easier than driving to the dealership. He gets all my info, excuses himself and goes out back to where the mechanics are working. He comes back in and tells me it will be $20 to $25 dollars for the bulb. I'm thinking great but he was not sure if I needed and H7 or H9 (or something along those lines). So I then ask him how long will it take and if they have both in stock. They do apparently have both bulbs but that it would take a couple of hours as they have to take the whole front bumper off my car. The labor to replace the bulb was going to be about $190 dollars plus the cost (unknown) of the bulb depending on which one it was. So I asked him--"So I can't replace the bulb myself?" His reply was "You can if I want to take the bumper off your car". (Of course I do not have any intention of wanting to deal with taking the front bumper off my car) So I confirm that it is going to cost me +/- $220 to have my low beam bulb replaced and he said yes. OK, so I make an appointment for next week, thank him and leave. I call the dealership on my way out of the parking lot and talk to a service advisor. He said come on by anytime and they would replace it for me after I buy it from the parts dept. I asked how long it will take and he said 15 minutes and that they would just do it for me. So I just got back from the dealership a few hours ago, bought the bulb ($39.58 with tax) and they swapped it out for me. Right there, no appointment, no taking the bumper off, no $190 for labor. (I even asked if there are any models where the bumper has to come off and he said no--just to make sure my model was an exception). I was so pissed that Avalon was trying to rip me off for $190. I really wanted to like this place as it looks like a nice place to bring my car, and it is so much more convenient and easier for me to get to. Be warned people, shop around, try your best to know what is needed before agreeing to have something done to your car. Get estimates and second opinions. This is an example of why so many repair shops give the whole industry a bad name! SHAME ON YOU AVALON MOTORSPORTS!!!!!! read more

Avalon Motorsport is wonderful! I recently visited the Denver Volkswagen dealership for a service check, and was told that i was in need of a $1,000 front arm bushing replacement asap. Before getting the service done I wanted to get a second opinion. I called around to many different shops, but Avalon was the only shop that wanted to give me an accurate estimate and offered for me to bring in my car the same day! I came in right before closing and the mechanic took a look at my car, even let me looks at the front arm bushing myself and gave me their honest opinion on the status of my car. They said there was absolutely no rush for service and was helpful in pointing out other issues they noticed that the dealership looked over. There was absolutely no charge for looking at my car & they noticed my car door handle was broken and fixed it for free! Everyone was so kind and helpful and when I got my car back to head out I had noticed the wiped down the interior of my car! Bravo to everyone at Avalon, and especially Nathan for all of his help! read more

These are, hands down, the best car specialists I've ever encountered. I'm extremely finicky when it comes to my car. Wherever I am, I search for only qualified mechanics to work on my car. I'll research the best shop in town. Avalon Motorsports may just be the best in the nation! I came here last year (2015), and they really made an impression on me. Extremely clean shop, with a very professional staff. They are knowledgeable, honest and courteous. I cannot overemphasize the quality of craftsmanship this establishment has. I loved it so much, when I decided to revamp my car this year, I drove it all the way from Houston, Texas to Denver, just so they could be the ones to work on it. I really can't recommend them enough! If you own a German car and don't have it serviced here, you truly are missing out. read more

I have never taken a car to Avalon and I don't think I ever will... I called Avalon about having a preventative maintenance transmission service done on my Audi. I was questioned immediately as to why I wanted the service and they acted like they wanted to shove a diagnostic fee on me before they would even preform the service I was requesting even though it's just general maintenance and there was nothing wrong with the car. They then proceeded to quote me $100 more for the said service than the dealer wanted, and $300 more than any other shop I called. When I questioned the cost they gave me a story about how great they are and how I should be willing to pay the extra money because of their reputation and something about the special fluid they used being better than everything else. I ended up getting the best quote from another shop around my town that specializes in Audi's that was less than half of what Avalon quoted that used comparable high end fluid and parts. In the end I decided to be brave and do the service myself. It was incredibly easy and cost me less than $100. After doing the service myself and realizing how easy it was I am absolutely dumbfounded by the quote I got from Avalon. In the end they were the only shop I called that quoted me a ridiculously high price, and they were the only shop that tried to get me to pay a diagnostic fee before doing the service. This doesn't look good for them in my opinion, and I have no idea what they would have tried to pull on me if I didn't know anything about my car. I am sure they do quality work but most likely no better than any other high end shop in town, and with so much competition you can't be ridiculous about your prices, and you can't try and force a service down a customer's throat that they aren't requesting and don't need just because you want to make a few more bucks off of them, or because you don't trust that they know what needs to be done to their car. read more

2 years ago, when I moved to Denver I needed a new garage I could trust and thought I had found that garage at Avalon Motorsports. Late last year I spent $2800 on a timing belt, brake work and misc mtce on my 2004 A6. The work was done quickly and at what I thought was a reasonable price. What is disappointing is that less that 6 months later when I moved to Dallas and needed to get the car inspected for re-titling, my previous mechanic suggested selling the car instead as it needed extensive work including work to the Turbos that he said had been leaking for a very long time. I would have appreciated this level of honesty from Avalon as I clearly wouldn't have invested the $2800 read more

I called to get a quote on brakes. I gave the year, make, model of my car let the man know I was looking for 2 verbal quotes (non-binding) (1) for brake pads for front & rear, (2) for brake pads & rotors for front & rear. I was told there was a $42 inspection fee for brakes (which would be waived if I proceeded with the service) but they would not provide quotes over the phone because there were too many factors at play. I let the man know I was not looking for a binding quote - merely just a rough ballpark as I had just left my (AMAZING) mechanic (who had performed a FREE brake check) and told me I had 3000 miles left on the brakes so being in the middle of a move (from LA to Denver) I was debating waiting until I got to Denver (as I'd need to find a new shop anyway for my Audi) to have them done. The man continued to tell me how he was unable to provide me with a quote for brakes over the phone (it's parts and labor for brake pads & rotors for goodness sakes!!!) unless he saw the vehicle in person to which I again explained the reasoning for the 2 quote options - one just for pads, the other for pads & rotors. He was unwilling to provide any sort of estimate or quote... HOWEVER he did tell me I could send him my estimate from my mechanic in LA and he would work off that number!!!!!!!!!!!! What a scam. I'm sure he heard "Audi" "LA" + a female on the other end of the line and thought he could take me for a swim!!!! I am very disappointed in the overall experience (which I let him know on the call) and I will not be using Avalon for my future Audi needs. On the upside - I called Jeremiah over at Auto Imports of Denver right after - provided the same information I gave to Avalon and was given a quote 5 min later OVER THE PHONE!!! that matched what my mechanic in LA had given me. My husband and I have used Avalon exclusively since we bought my BMW and his Audi. I'll admit, I was a bit taken aback by the prices at first. Avalon is not cheap. But high quality never is, and that's what you get here. I've dealt with Adam and Drew in the front office several times, and they always provide great service. The parts are top-notch, and the service people are more highly trained than even the ones at the dealerships. They communicate well about the diagnostics, and they are honest in telling you "This needs to be done now" or "You will need this done, but it can wait a while." Phenomenal service. I brought my M5 in based on a referal from a friend after getting stalled halfway through doing the 100k service myself. As a generally self-sufficient home garage mechanic I am hesitant to pay somebody else to do work that I can do. If I am paying somebody to do the work, I insist they be the best. Avalon is the best. They didn't bat an eye about having a car with stacks of parts and fluids in the seats. They are a top-tier shop for a reason. They listened to everything I had already done and trouble-shot. Tom, who was my service rep, was incredible. He never tried to up-sell me on parts or unnecessary service. They went step by step for each of the possible smaller solutions to the engine problems the car was having. When it reached culmination to the most expensive option with an expensive replacement part, they gave me the opportunity to send said damaged, very expensive part to an individual who services them for less. No normal shop would give you that option. I let Tom know that I was in no urgency to get it done, just that I wanted it done right. With it being a step by step process of eliminating the cheapest option first for the repairs, it took a few weeks. They didn't leave me stranded without a car though. I was given an immaculate 2014 Passat TSI to drive for the entire time they were working in the car. Getting a comparable sized car and not paying $25/day for a loaner was great. Not having to sort out how to carry kids and stuff in a car that's much smaller than your normal driver. With the car, when they found small items, they just fixed them. The hose to the windshield sprayers had broken and wasn't spraying. Instead of charging me for the $200 replacement hoses, they patched it. They even cleaned the engine bay. Who cleans the engine bay? I've never seen a car leave a shop with an engine bay cleaner than when it went in. The full vehicle inspection they did was beyond thorough finding things that need/should be fixed that I hadn't caught. They put together repair estimates for each of the items which, if I hadn't just done the full 100k service, would have left the car there to be done. Their prices are incredible for a shop their size with their service level. I will be having the rod bearings done next year and have no doubt where I will be going. Even if they are inconveniently far away from me (Highlands Ranch vs. Denver), they will be working on this car indefinitely. The car runs great now; even better than when I bought it. The only thing I have to complain about is that with it snowing I can't enjoy the beast they have unleashed in my car. read more

I bought a used Porsche and Avalon helped me find and fix multiple issues. They worked with my extended warranty (which isn't easy) and they are honest about their pricing. On several occasions I thought the problem was one thing but they found it wasn't broken and they didn't charge me to fix something that wasn't broken. In one situation a sensor was loose but we didn't know until I could drive it without the warning light coming on. They didn't charge me for the sensor adjustment, even though we were ready to order replacement parts just to see if that would turn off the warning light. An unscrupulous shop could have charged me and I would never have known better. I am happy with their honesty and integrity. read more
