I have always known you're gonna charge $2 every time we use a card which I think is not right but I accepted it. You did some remodeling and it looks nice but the fact that it was $49 when I checked out because I used my card was shocking. I was given a gift card to Avalon Nail Bar by a friend and was excited to check it out. The salon is spacious and very clean. I had no problem making an appointment over the phone and was attended to right on time. My nail tech was one of the friendliest women I've ever been helped by at a salon. A gel manicure is $33, which is $3 more than my usual place but I was ready to start coming here instead because I really enjoyed the experience. I had selected 2 colors so that I could alternate on my nails and as she was doing my nails I decided to add a 3rd. My nail tech was super nice about it and added the 3rd color. Each hand had 3 pink nails, one purple and one white. When she finished, she wrote up a bill for $36. I was charged an extra $3 just because I added one extra solid color nail. I was never informed of this when I asked for it and felt like they scammed me. Not only does my regular nail salon charge one price no matter how many alternating colors I select, but had they informed me of this when I made the request I would have kept my selection to 2 colors because I don't feel that one extra nail color is worth $3 more. I was disappointed because I liked the salon and she did a wonderful job on my nails but I wouldn't come back to a place that isn't up front with their customers. read more

I came here yesterday as a walk in and they took me right in without an appointment for a full set with gel and a pedicure. Customer service was amazing, the man at the front desk was very nice and accommodating. Cindy did my nails and I finally found my new nail lady! She did my nails so perfect. The last 3 nail salons I have been to did such an awful job. She listened to everything I said and the quality is 5 stars! I believe it was Lisa that did my pedicure and she did a great job too! Dirty and they do not clean their tools. Left with gel nail polish all around my toes and with a pedi I could've just done with my white nail polish at home. Nail tech didn't paint all the way to cuticle and all to the edges leaving it looking messy with the polish. Came here just to get plain white gel polish for a fast pedi. Do not recommend. Also the type of salon that waits for you to tip. The massage that comes with the pedi is also them just rubbing their gloves against your skin while they look around at other people. read more

I waited about 5min to get seated, but they were packed for both mani and pedi service when I arrived. Once I sat down they had about 8 walk in for service and the lady still told them they can sign in and just wait. The last person signed in about 635. My spa pedicure was about an hour and once I left- out of those 8 people, only 3 were seated around 650. I chose the organic avalon spa pedicure $ 45 + $15 gel. I didn't read it right but I could've just got deluxe only difference was the massage time. The service was nothing to rave about. I can definitely get this service for cheaper in the next neighborhood. Water level wasn't high and my feet was not soaked in no more than 10min. Simple callus remover after cuticle cut and shape, gel painted toes, put mask lotion on my feet, wrap in warm towel, wipe, did a lotion 13 min massage. Was okay could've been better. Location is long, their set up is not roomie my lady was right behind a customer getting her names done and had to move if other customers were trying to leave. More pedicure set up than manicure stations. Overall the pedicure was done nicely, but the price I may have to pass. read more

Both my first and second experience getting ombré nails at this location were great! I didn't have to wait long at all, but I must have been lucky because it didn't take too long to notice this place gets quite busy, it's probably best to make an appointment ahead of time. Kudos to the store manger! Her customer service was grade A. The entire time I was there she was multitasking between helping customers at the register and doing my nails. Not only is the facility beautifully decorated, it's clean and maintained. I've been here 4 times for a gel manicure. Every time it has been consistent, which I appreciate. They have an on-site manager that helps organize your visit. He's very helpful and able to step in if/when needed. They also offer a 10% discount on all services Monday through Thursday! I had the day off for Veterans Day and I decided i was going to treat myself to a mani-pedi. I was so happy to see that Avalon Nail Bar was open again! I walked in and although the technicians were all busy with clients, i was greeted right away and was able to sit in a massage chair to soak my feet while i waited (a very short time) to be taken care of. Kristina and Ivy were my technicians, they both did an AMAZING JOB!! They listened to my requests and went above and beyond to make sure i was comfortable and did an incredible job on my mani/pedi.. this is my new go-to and will always be my recommendation for locals looking for a great nail salon. Had a fill and pedicure. Nails started lifting and popping off the very next day. They also do not do French Manicure (pink and white) for color. I picked a light pink and then they said no and picked my color for me. The pedicure was okay but very expensive. Also, the sign stating a discount for paying in cash was false. Today I went in to get a fill. I ended up getting a new dip set instead. She asked was the length ok. I confirmed. Then she must have filed the entree tip (that I paid extra to have added by the way) taking nearly all the length off. This did not happen all at once. Once filed several different times. At the very beginning I asked if she could do a design. She said yes. However, it was nowhere near the photo I showed her. I looked at my nails and said "these look really sloppy". So she spoke to the person next to her and she started trying to fix it. She then did the next nail. And she said "do you like". And I said no. Not at all. These don't look good. I thought you would go back and later/fix. So she removed. However, at this point I was already there for 3 hours! I said "I have to leave in 10 min. She couldn't get the polish change on me in 10, not even 20 minutes. I had to leave with my nails unfinished and a bill for $63 for maybe the worst nail experience I've ever had. Changed my review I had a slight miscommunication with calling to schedule. The staff are helpful and like to make things right. My first time getting a pedi here the guy was nice but my toe bled so much it was sensitive for a week. He didn't even acknowledge it. But that was only one time and I could've spoke up but I didn't. I went in for a basic pedicure and the asked me which one I wanted. Just very basic nothing fancy with white polish . So I picked the $28 options. Something easy and straight to the point. I was there over a hour and my legs started to cramp by the way they were twisting and bending my foot. I told them that I'm sorry I broke my legs in the past and it hard for me to do certain angles. When I got up to pay it was $58 I said how is that if I picked the $28 $5 to take polish off $15 to paint toes white $2 to pay with my debit card I was blown away. Usually don't do my nails at salons anymore since I found an amazing wfh nail tech, but she got sick right before Christmas so had no choice but to go to a nail salon & I was recommended this one. Yes they have lots of stations, and it's aesthetically pleasing I guess. But the two women who were working on my pedicure & full set were extremely rude. The lady who did my full set is pictured in another review doing a pedicure & being unsanitary, well she wasn't any different for my full set. She purposely didn't put primer on my nails because I wanted a clear nail with a French tip outline so I'd only be paying for the design, she didn't like that I chose a design for $12 instead of $15 for a color & $12 for the design. DO NOT GO HERE! What a horrible experience. From their state of their salon to their customer service and quality of work, it is horrible. Firstly, their shop is filthy, there is debris everywhere and they do not sanitize their tools/ pull from soiled containers. My mother is allergic to latex and we had to repeat ourselves multiple times to multiple people not to touch her with the gloves or contaminate the area she was at. About 90% of them don't understand English and kept ignoring her and trying to touch her. My mom had to sit there with her epipen just in case she had a reaction because they were refusing to listen for a good 30 mins. My last visit left me feeling taken advantage of. I went in for a pedicure and fill, the girl who did my pedicure did an okay job but Jennifer, the one who did my fill was rude, dismissive and kept messing up in my nails. Firstly, my entire left hand was crooked (I'm assuming because I was on a spa chair and she was to my right). When I asked her to make them straight, she huffed and said "later" and continued on not fixing her mistake. When I asked again, she was clearly upset and filed my nails down too short. When she was done she asked "happy?" So I compared each nail which was a different shape, thickness and length. Again, I asked her to fix it. By this point, I was frustrated with talking to a wall and gave up. I asked for a french manicure, her initial shape of the french was almost a straight line, when I asked her to make the french curved, she again, got upset and started taking under her breath to her coworker (who btw was working on a girl that had autism and was pinching her fingers anytime she move making the girl yipe and squirm). She then tried painting my nails a random color I didn't ask for justifying it as a "popular color". I asked her not to use that and we went back and forth until she got frustrated, got the nail colors and tossed them at me. My jaw was on the floor. I told her to leave my nails clear and I'll fix them when I go home. The rest of the time she spent huffing and talking under her breath. When I finally finished and went to pay, they rung me up as a "full set" which was double what they would charge a fill. When I corrected the store manager, he apologized and changed the description of the line item but not the price. When I asked why the price was so high, Jennifer came up aggressively and with broken English, explained the severely inflated prices, $25 for a fill (supposed to be $23), $25 for the French (supposed to be $6) and $5 for the reshape (her mistake). The story of the inflated charges changed a few times and she said she "should've charged me more" but settled on justifying the cost because on their menu there is a + next to the cost. When I voiced my frustration and explain how upset I was, Jennifer continued to be combative until the manager told her to be quiet and still, charged me the inflated prices. Prices that were never disclosed. The manager did absolutely nothing and just stood there waiting for me to pay. I was SO uncomfortable and felt taken advantage of. So, for total of $85 (fill plus pedicure), the quality, experience, and insanitary/health code violations and potentially jeopardizing their patrons health, this place is NOT worth it.
