Where to start.. I love it here! They have the glow in the dark dip nails, which lets face it?? Why not get glow in the dark nails!! The first time I came it was with a friend who is a regular, so they knew her by name. The second time I went without her due to scheduling, I felt like they didn't remember me which is fine it was only my second visit. The first women who did my nails did an amazing job! My nails were glowing goood! However, this second visit it was someone else, and I feel like she didn't do as great of a job. The nails don't glow as well as the last time, I feel as if there is too many layers of the top coat on them. The pedicures were great! The second time it was better than the first!! Best service I've received in a while at a nail salon!!! I walked in and was immediately seated, they took their time and asked if everything looked okay before proceeding. Ok two stars because while the atmosphere is lovely and I enjoyed the experience, it is by far the worst quality manicure and pedicure I've ever gotten. After spending $100 on a gel mani/pedi I left with smudged and messy polish on my fingers and toes that were still tacky 8 hours later. After finally going to sleep tacky, the polish is destroyed today. Unfortunately I've had too many obligations this weekend to go back and see if they will fix them. My daughter had the same service with a different manicurist and her nails look amazing. Hopefully they can fix my nails when I find time to go back and I can update the rating. read more

I have been here 3 times and each time the environment here has been amazing! The staff is always so friendly and out going and I never fail to smile or laugh while here. Painful pedi- I had an appointment at 4:30 showed up 15 minutes early and they did not even start on my mani pedi until 5:00 They put my feet in cold water while I waited for the pedicure. The manicure was great except the lady took my color and put it back so by the time the pedicure was happening they did not know what color I had on my hands. They grabbed a color that was darker than what I had on my fingers so that was disappointing because I was trying to get my feet and nails to match for an upcoming wedding. Not only were the polish colors non matching but the pedicure lady cut my big toe and it was bleeding. She was not at all apologetic and simply put a makeshift bandage on it while she finished the rest of the toes. Every time she touched up the polish or tried cleaning the edges with remover I winced in pain because the cut she caused would burn like crazy. I will not return and do not recommend this place. Unless you want to leave in pain. read more

My Gel manicure didn't even last a week and my daughter nexgen was completely off in a week. Thry barely glued the tips and they brok off at tip. The first one broke 1 day after she had them done. We were ready on vacation, so we couldnt go back. For the money so not worth the value, will not be back. read more

I came here with my cousin and my mom had a party of 9 have been here almost 3 hours and still haven't gotten my nails done took forever to get my toes done they fit clients in between parties which I think is very unprofessional and I shouldn't be waiting this long without refreshments some people in my party was offered wine but I guess when they got to me they just didn't only one person can do a certain thing but they have like 10 nail techs they assumed I didn't want my nails done but I clearly said nails and pedicure this by far is the worse experience I've ever had at a nail shop and if I do decide to move to Dallas I would never come here ever again read more

When I moved to the area I tried out several nail salons. I get NexGen nails because I want a long lasting chip free manicures. Unfortunately many places don't know how to correctly apply it making it super thick and with some the polish would chip after 2 weeks. I never could figure that one out unless they were thinning the product with something making it less stable. I finally ended up at Avalon and my nails stay amazing with no chipping after 4 weeks even when I have done yard work! I get a neutral color so that when it grows out it's not as noticeable. They also have great pedicures taking their time not rushing through. I look so forward to my monthly appointment with Leah to chill out and have a glass of wine while being pampered. read more

I won't lie, on the weekends there is sometimes quite the wait. But I've made a habit of scheduling an appointment with them that same day just ahead of time, if I don't go during the week. But they are simply the best around here! So I rather not go somewhere else with a shorter wait, because they just won't compare. I use to go to a much larger nail spa on Stacy in Allen with a much shorter wait, but the service was ALWAYS hit or miss. The attention to detail and time each of these employees spend on everyone is not normal at other spas. So yes, there is a wait. But it's because they don't do a rush job! I came to Avalon on Saturday November 3 with my very pregnant friend as a last stop relaxing pedicure before her new baby comes. I am giving 2 stars as the customer service was great and the services were well executed. I received the Aloe Vera Pedicure and a NexGen Fill and my friend received the traditional pedicure with extra massage time. I didn't have any complaints leaving the salon, the technician who did my Nexgen did a great job shaping my nails and making sure they looked as I desired and my pedicure was quite lovely, however; after one week my toe nail polish had chipped on both feet. (I am not rough and let's be real Texas is getting chilly I've only been in fuzzy socks and closed toed shoes.. I work from home) today, November 15, 1 day before the 2 week mark 2 of my nails broke while doing practically nothing.. they are just chipping away. I am beyond disappointed. When spending over $100 on a service you would at least expect to get a little over 2 weeks out of your nails. I typically get a fill and pedicure once a month. I scheduled it perfectly to where I would not need to have them done again until just after thanksgiving if not before IF I had time.. per my normal growth and maintenance schedule. It's frustrating to now have to take time out of my already busy schedule and holiday festivities to pay another $100 for a service I received just shy of two weeks ago. Unfortunately, I will not be returning to Avalon and would not recommend this salon for anyone who regularly maintains a mani/pedi. read more

This is the only nail salon I will go to in McKinney. I've lived here 4 years and have tried multiple nail salons. This is the ONLY place that has never cut my feet while working on callouses, ruined my nail beds with nexgen or gel removal, or nicked me with the nail clippers. Sometimes the wait is long and I've had 2 "less than perfect" polish applications from new technicians who were training. I'm ok with someone training...I know what it's like to learn a new job. I'm a loyal customer. I go every two weeks. read more

This spa is great. All the staff members I have met have been excellent and very gracious. Make an appointment if you want someone specific for your services or if you come in with a large group. I see a lot of the same employees here over a long period of time. That says a lot about how they are treated since nail places are everywhere. Just went yesterday with my daughter. The gentleman I had cut the side of my foot with the buffer and my cuticle's are red around my toes. He rushed through the message. I was tense the whole time verses relaxed. My daughter's nail's where cut super short. I did not have a good experience and will probably not go back. read more

New salon in McKinney off Virginia, in the same shopping ctr. as the new neighborhood Walmart. Stopped by about 11:25 on a Friday morning and then waited well over half an hour to get my gel manicure. The girl never spoke to me, nor made eye contact, .....ok ok when I was leaving she looked at my eyebrows and asked if I wanted them waxed, and then hurried thru the manicure. The hand/arm "massage" was pretty pathetic too. I went because it is new(2 months), close to my house, and had 20% off to reel in new customers. Probably won't go back, maybe just an off day for them, we all have one from time to time, but there are way too many other shops to choose from for better service. I had the day off and was in need of some pampering and left feeling like I was an intruder. read more

I'm only giving this 2 stars because they made a great effort to resolve the issue but unfortunately after making a appointment, I was not attended to till 50 minutes after the agreed upon time. When we first walk in the salon the manager asked what we wanted and I showed her an exact picture of what I want she said ok and I waited till someone had a chair open for me. A super kind lady asked what I'd like so again I show the picture and she begins to tell me they couldn't do it because of the way the powders work (keep in mind I've had this exact design done multiple time at other salons, all I asked for was an ombré design). After that discussion they proceed to tell me that only 2 workers in the salon could do it for me but I'd have to wait. After assessing the situation for what it was I decide I did not want to wait an extra 30-40 mins when I was supposed to be helped an hour ago. This was just my personal experience but I will not be recommending this salon to any friends or family. Due to the simple fact that I believe this place is a waste of time when it should be a relaxing experience read more
