Really happy with my balayage and trim! Saw the previous review on Yelp with exactly what I wanted so I booked online with Quinn. I asked for an ash blonde balayage and showed her the review from Lynn. Now paying it forward with another stellar review so hopefully someone else will see it! I've tried balayage previously at another salon and was really disappointed - I have dark Asian hair and they couldn't lift my hair so it ended up orangey and overall still dark. The other place told me it couldn't be done in one appointment. Quinn was able to do exactly what I wanted despite also mentioning my dark hair to be a challenge. She conquered it! This hair salon is terrible. Absolutely do not recommend. The service is horrible and the hair stylists don't do their job. I requested for a men's middle part haircut and received a borderline buzz cut type of hajr. My hair is extremely short now and looks horrible. This place is terrible and I do not understand how their ratings are good. My hair stylist lied straight to my face when I complained and asked her why she cut my hair so short. I told her that this is not what I wanted and she responded with it's the same style. This is NOT the same style. So easy and fast. I requested a same day appointment via Yelp and got a response within minutes for a 2:30 PM appointment Vanna. 1.5 hours later I came out with a fresh cut, shampoo and blow dry. I came in with semi-long thick hair that has been colored and in much need of a cut. I asked Vanna to cut off enough to remove the damaged hair and split ends which ended up being about 3 inches. She asked for a picture of what cut I wanted and after showing her a simple picture I saw on their yelp page, she went to work. This was the most meticulous cut I've ever had. Vanna took her time to divide my hair in sections for the cut, measured both sides often to check it was even, and thinned out my thick hair. She constantly asked if this was okay and gave me a mirror to check that the back was the right length. I think I've found my person to cut my hair from now on. Vanna was easy to talk to, she never rushed through the cut, and the price was quite reasonable. Beyanca is a magician! WOW. I had been going to the same guy for almost 3 years for my hair and every 3 months I would go (he recommended going every 3 months) my hair always looked orange and exactly the same... it was terrible. Not only was my hair so ugly and dry, but it was also expensive. This is my first time ever here, and Beyanca did this in 1 session!! Brought my 8 year old daughter here to get her hair cut for school. She's super particular about keeping her length and was really skeptical about even getting a trim. *side note* she's been to one other salon and she didn't have a good experience making her even more hesitant on cutting her hair* When we got there Vanna was super friendly and treated her like a "regular" client rather than a child. My daughter got her hair washed (which the other salon didn't do) and everything! I was kind of shocked. I could see on my daughter's face that she felt special. After explaining to Vanna how my daughter wanted her hair cut (a little trim and layers in just the front). Vanna was gentle and made sure my daughter was comfortable. After she trimmed the back she started to work on the layers in the front. We explained that we didn't want the layers starting too high up where she couldn't put her hair behind her ear. And Vanna did exactly that. She double checked with us if we wanted it cut a bit shorter but it was perfect. I'm so glad and appreciate that Vanna even had asked rather than taking it upon herself to cut it shorter. Small things like that will make me definitely come back! My daughter is extremely happy and more confident about getting her hair cut again, as long as it's from Vanna! I need to get my hair done soon, and will be going back to this place! read more

Just like a lot of people, I was in need of a haircut because quarantining during the pandemic means my hair was very long, thick, and had many split ends. A cut was definitely needed. Of 'course, many salons have been closed, but the recent stay-at home order was lifted, and I was okay with leaving the house again. I wanted to find a salon close to me that made sure all their employees wore masks and social-distanced. Thankfully, I stumbled upon Avalon Salon. I requested an appointment through Yelp, and within a few minutes, I got a response! I replied and was able to schedule an appointment for later that week! Keyley was my stylist, and she was very knowledgeable! She was kind and honest as she gave me some recommendations for my hair. I plan to come to her again when I need another trim! During my appointment, only one other client was there, and they were being helped by another hair stylist. It was only them, plus me and Keyley. This was at 4:30PM. Terrible haircut. I showed a photo, I said I wanted bangs thick, and keep my long layers. She didn't do any of that and insisted on what she thought was better and kept chopping of layers of my hair. I have never experienced bangs being layered this much. And I've always had bangs. Now my bangs are thin and my hair at the back is thin, too. Her name is Amy. I'm so sad! Super sad. I should have driven to my usual place in Costa Mesa instead but my sister in law recently had a hair color at this place. Perhaps the hair color they do here is good!
