I stopped by Avent Garde Aleworks for a beer after a run. This is a chill place in Estes Park to hang out for a drink. I love their spacious outdoor patio. Avant Garde is a locally-owned craft brewery that specializes in European style beers. They have a number of rotating beers on tap. They don't have a food menu, but food trucks will stop by on a regular basis. The staff is both friendly and helpful with recommendations. One thing that I liked about coming here is that Avant Garde Aleworks is just outside the busy downtown area. It made for easier parking and it was nice to not have to deal with traffic. You can still get great views of Rocky Mountain Park from here. I enjoyed my beer and my short time on the patio to wind down after running my 5K. They have canned beers to-go if you are not able to hang around. Avant Grande is both family and pet friendly. They also host movie nights and live events. Check out their website for updates.

Great atmosphere and beer was soooo good! I had the dark lager, very tasty, smooth and refreshing! Service was friendly and welcoming.

Adore the space and vibe but unfortunately I really don't remember much about the beer. This was our second stop of the day and nothing on the menu was really talking to me so I went with my old go to: IPA. It was a western style and that's about all I can tel you. Staff was nice enough but didn't go out of their way to make it a memorable experience. They have a drink machine to make rose and daiquiris so that's fun. The outside space though? Amazing. They have a lovely waterfall that makes you think you're in some tropical environment and it's puppy friendly. All parties outside had dogs and it was a grand ole time!

This is a great spot! Not real big and not a huge tap list but everything we experienced was good! I ordered the saison but is sure tasted like a Belgian so I'm wondering if he poured the wrong one? Whichever it was, it was really good. My husband got an IPA and liked it a lot. We enjoyed their outdoor patio. It seemed very new. Some nice furniture, a fire pit, and a fountain. They do have some I door seating as well. Foodtruck was on-site but we didn't try it. I would recommend it!

Phenomenal beers!!! As a former brewery owner and Certified Beer Judge, I can honestly say that this hidden gem of a brewery has got their s**t dialed IN! Their Kölsch (and I've drank my fair share of Kölsch during Karnival), was spot on for aroma and taste, although slightly hazy, it knocked my socks off! Their Farmhouse Saison was astronomical as well as their Quad. Great beers aside, the atmosphere was also stellar. Groovy music, eclectic jade garden and beautiful artwork! I honestly think they're too good for this town filled with ignorant tourists and bad restaurant reviews. Mark my words - they're going places!

This is one of my go-to places when in Estes. The beer is great. The patio is relaxing. I like getting a flight of brews to start then finish the evening with a favorite of what I get. The folks behind the counter know their beers and can make recommendations on what you normally drink. My non-beer drinking spouse even found one she likes. They do offer small tastes so you don't have to waste time or money on something you dislike. Stop by. Have a beer or three and relax.

Such a picturesque spot to hangout while trying new beers. Surrounded by the mountains, the outdoor patio is dog friendly and the perfect spot to listen to a local band.

Stopped by to sample the food truck and have some beer. Tried the Kolsch, Extra Pale ale and the double dry hopped IPA and they were all well made beer! Great service, nice atmosphere!

Lovely little ale house, friendly staff, good beers (try the winter strong ale!). Visited in winter, but looks like big patio for warm weather.

Side entrance off the patio and current ordering station during COVID days. Very clean and nice!

The relative "new comers" to the Estes Park craft beer scene, Avant Garde seems to have found a niche of its own, and one they can be proud of! Quietly tucked a half-block to the west of Hwy-7, unless you're looking for them, you probably won't find them. But when you do, you'll more than likely be greeted and served by one of the owners who have an infectious passion for what they're doing here. They're brewing on a small system (maybe 3bbl?) and their offerings are scaled accordingly, but what they offer is a great departure from the standard kolsch or pilsner, stout, and an IPA or two...no sir, not here! Getting rave reviews for their saison, I tried the Bier de Garde and found a nice balance of grain and sweetness, with a boozy hit on the back. The strong ale with raisins from a county in the Middle East...lets just say we bought a bomber to take back home! I could review more, but just come try the beer for yourself!? And when you do arrive, you'll find a really nice outdoor patio that was perfectly filled to a "socially distanced" capacity on a hazy and wildfire-smoked 76° Sunday afternoon with live music. Parking is ample with spots on both the north and south side of the building on Dunraven and Comanche.

This place seems BRAND NEW (and it is). It's extremely clean and put together, including their adorable succulent garden where you can enjoy a drink. The have their own parking lot, which is awesome. There's not a whole lot of space inside, but very modern and fun. Menu is very simple and easy to see. The beers that we tasted were all great. It was nice because they offered regular pints, or an option for a smaller pour if you wanted to try a couple different ones. We were on our way to get dinner (which they don't serve full meals, only snacks) so we only had time for one quick drink, but this is definitely a cool spot.

I slept about 4 hours the night before to make it early for sunrise. To say that a few tasty beers were what the doctor ordered would be the understatement of the century! None of this matters, of course, to the good folks at Rocky Cut Brewing Company. This is off the main drag of Estes in an unassuming strip plaza. Humble vibes inside, a simple U-shaped bar top with seating all around, a few smaller tables, a community table, and a large patio with mostly picnic table seating. If you're lucky, snag a stool right along the Big Thompson River! Though, I recommend they fix the wooden placeholders for beers, they're leaning on the wrong side of history, we don't want any full glasses of beer reaching an unnecessary demise! Interference IPA * American IPA * 6.7% * 16oz ($7) From their website: "Climbing the Interference Boulder in Rocky Mountain National Park requires strength and power. This Colorado IPA showcases the power of hops with an intense blend forging citrus aromas with a pine forward finish. Featured ingredients: Cascade, El Dorado, Mosaic, Chinook, & Simcoe hops * Recommended adventure: hiking Black Lake, climbing the Twin Owls, skiing upper Hidden Valley." A perfectly apt description. I would summarize this beer just as they did, focusing on hops, citrus, and pine. Absolutely delicious, a memorable IPA in recent memory. I liked it so much I ordered it again and it tasted just as delicious the second time down! They also had a food truck outside, so safe to assume they do this often. Would love to try more of their beers during my next visit. Rock Cut, I see you!

I wouldn't rule it out, I just may not have gotten it on the best night. I should also note that some say it's downtown estes. And it is technically walkable, I THINK, because you can walk along the river, but it's a bit far from what I would personally call "downtown" if you were to walk. I'd recommend driving unless you want a longer walk. They have plenty of parking, though we are here in the off season. The staff was kind, but we had little interaction. Overall, I'd try it again.

It came with a decent portion of meat on a very tasty bun. You also get one choice of sides: coleslaw, fries, homemade kettle chips, smoked beans, side salad ($2 extra), Mac and cheese. I opted for the smoked beans. Flavor was good. However, beans were way undercooked and had much too much sweetness to them. I would definitely not order them again. My partner ordered the same sandwich with the Carolina BBQ sauce and had the coleslaw for the side. It was a typical coleslaw and nothing different from the usual or expected. My favorite Aunt ordered the smoked chicken club and she was very pleased. The chicken had a very nice taste of smoke without being overpowering which is easy to do with chicken. The kettle ships that she ordered were homemade and delicious. (sidenote: when asked, the server had no idea if the kettle chips were made in-house from from a bag) Overall, it wasn't a bad place to eat. If I was in town again, personally, I would probably try another place but not because this establishment was bad in any way, just to get experience elsewhere. I would not recommend the smoked beans side dish and the staff need more training on the menu so that she doesnt look silly in front of customers when answering questions.
