    Chicken Parmesan
    Stephanie C.

I was really disappointed with the food and preparation here. I got the chicken Parmesan and they served both the chicken and the pasta in a ramekin with no plate underneath. Every time I tried cutting into the chicken, sauce and pasta would overflow out the edges. It was so hard to eat without making a mess. I'm also not a fan of sweet sauces, and this sauce was overwhelming sweet. No amount of salt could help.

Buffalo Chicken wrap. Very good but spicy!

I was a little unsure when I saw all the negative reviews but I have to say, we had a pretty good experience here! We had a private room for a family gathering. Our server was friendly, helpful and attentive. I'm sure she had other tables she was waiting on besides us and even though we were in a completely different room, she was on it. I went with the buffalo chicken wrap. Our server suggested going with the crispy chicken over the grilled for the wraps (my mom also ordered a different wrap) and she did not steer us wrong! The wrap was delicious! Pretty spicy though so a side or two of ranch was definitely necessary. (Which, lets be honest, I would have done regardless of the spice level.) Overall, two thumbs up!

    Bruschetta
    Rachel S.

Cheap food for cheap cost. The bruschetta would have been better if the bread wasn't a sweet bread. I got the linguine carbonara and added chicken, it was basically a frozen dinner thawed out. (Waitress even admitting that everything was frozen and they just warm it up from Sysco). Husband said lasagna was ok. Side salads basic salad kit thrown in bowl with a little dressing. Would not recommend. They serve pizzas as well, not sure if they just a frozen pizza warmed up also.

A good go to for cheaper meal for the family. Food is good, service is ok but the floors are greasy.

Ambiance = to any other restaurant in the country…read more Service = to the finest restaurants in the US. Food = to anything worldwide. The owner/chef came out to introduce himself since he was informed that my wife and I were celebrating our 45th wedding anniversary. This was our first time ever at the restaurant and I am disappointed that while living in Peoria, IL for 50 years I never had been there before. Now it's the only place I will go out to dinner at when I am in Peoria. The address is actually listed as 3218 N. Dries Lane in Peoria, IL and is across from the old Landmark Theatre on Dries Ln. You can actually locate it off of University St. also.

Our servers were slow to the table. Introduced themselves saying the gent would be the main server and the lady would be helping. SHE did all the work. Never saw him again. We could hardly hear each other talk. We were practically yelling. Dinks finally arrived. Later I ordered another glass of wine which never arrived. When I asked about it, I was told we were lucky to get the first round due to how busy they were. I was shocked at the response. The food was unusually average. Two of the dishes contained lobster. One was overcooked, the other lacked flavor. Yes, there were large parties in the house that night, but that is their business to manage NOT an excuse. If they want to cater solely to large groups, then DON'T take my reservation. There is growing competition for places to go for a nice night out, I'll be sure this place is lower on my list going forward. I felt very disrespected. Not a feeling I've ever gotten from this place.

Is Main Street a mainstay?…read more Word-of-mouth brought me and my dad to trying this place out on a cold and blustery Saturday morning. He had heard good things and I had heard the same so we figured to see what we thought of it. It wasn't too busy when we arrived and we were told to take a booth to our right. We sat down to a half-full but bustling restaurant. We got our menus and drinks promptly and started poring over the menu. My dad went with his usual country fried steak skillet-style meal and I went with a basic stack of pancakes and bacon. The vibe of the place was a generic blend of diner and family restaurant. Nothing really stood out to me that was unique besides this US Veterans table we were next to. I didn't get to snap a photo as they just cleaned it off and were about to sit down another group of people that just walked in. The waitress brought out our food and accidentally brought us a muffin instead of my bacon but was super quick to swap the two. Looking at my food and the price I paid and looking at my dad's food and the price he paid, I was instantly jealous he got so much more food for about the same price. The pancakes were large and plentiful compared to some places I've been and the bacon were long strips and not shriveled up and almost cooked too long. So why the mid rating? The waitress and staff overall weren't all that friendly. They weren't unpleasant by any means but the friendly chatting and banter you normally get at a restaurant was lacking here. There didn't seem to be a lot of mingling and cohesion to the staff that you see at most other restaurants. It was weird and if not a bit mechanical feeling. I'm not the most extroverted of people but a little bit of banter or chatting with the server is usually a plus. But most importantly is the food. How was it? Serviceable. The pancakes, even with the butter spread on it and plenty of syrup, were lacking a big punch of wow. Granted, it's just pancakes but I'd prefer to eat pancakes at a restaurant that don't feel like something I can make at home. The bacon was super tasty though. Just a bit disappointing that 3 strips were $3.99. My pops said he enjoyed his meal but it wasn't anything to write home about. I did try a small chunk of his country fried steak and it was decent, if not a bit overly crunchy/burnt on the steak portion. Overall, not a bad time with my dad but I just wish my meal wasn't lacking that punch for $12. I'd definitely come back and try a lunch item to see if that provides the oomph that eating out provides versus eating at home.
