I haven't been here in awhile but quite a bit has changed. For one, they no longer have a time limit on their wifi but parking has been even harder to find. Pretty limited spots out in front (only 30 mins or 2 hours) & in a parking garage behind the building labeled Resident + Retail Parking. Security has gotten stricter and will tow as confirmed by staff. Just beware that if you move your car to a different spot, there usually isn't another spot to move into :-( I enjoy their seasonal drinks & food but they've hiked up their prices, which is so unfortunate. Not sure I would pay $20 for a flatbread lol. Their coffee and teas are usually a safe option, and I wouldn't come here expecting high quality or strong matcha. It's decent but their syrups or cream tops tend to overpower the matcha. Frankly, it doesn't seem like they get as many customers as they used to given the above. I would probably visit more often if not for the changes! read more

Love coming here for a quick coffee/matcha break. I live close by so I walk here sometimes. Theyre located under the apt building with ample parking. I never have any problem finding parking here. I usually just get their iced matcha latte. Its super creamy and smooth. A very decent cup of matcha latte. Sometimes ill get a regular latte or whatever is on their seasonal menu and they're all usually really good. They have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and offer a variety of food as well. Definitely a go to spot when i need some pick me up. read more

Really modern looking coffee shop that provides ample seating and tons of outlets. They also serve alcohol and have a happy hour! It works for the vibe as it looks like a place you'd come and socialize in. The review is for the food only! I got a breakfast sandwich. They make it to order so I was able to customize it. The sandwich was ok. The brioche was mediocre. It wasn't buttery or soft! I guess it saved me some carbs. I'm glad I got the orange dressing (a chipotle of some sort) on the side because it has a smoky kick. I had saw other reviews about having a 90 minute WiFi limit, but I didn't experience that. It was a good spot for what i needed - a place to work. All-in-all, I'd come back to try a drink. I wouldn't get the sandwich though. read more

This may be my new go to study spot! I'm very picky about where I work, but the vibes are just right here. They have these beautiful enormous windows that flood the café with natural flight. Everything is plush and green. Usually, I just get a black coffee, but unfortunately they don't serve those during the afternoon. Instead I got an iced mocha, and it came in an adorable green glass cup. Overall a delicious drink To top it all off, when I got confused about what time they closed, they just left me alone to do my work. The music stopped playing. they took my dishes. they wiped the table next to me. I'm telling you, I missed every signal in the book, and they were still so sweet. My deepest apologies!! Avatar is located in a mixed use apartment/retail complex. It does have limited dedicated parking in front of the store. The shop had a nice coffee and food menu along with a pastry case. We tried the iced latte and the Spanish latte and overall the drinks were average. The food menu is interesting and we would come back to try it. There is also plenty of indoor and outdoor sitting for lounging. Please come and create your own adventure. read more

This is by far one of the most visually pleasing coffee shops that I have had the chance to visit. The colors, the flow, the space and the seating just made me happy to be here. Finding Avatar was a little bit of a challenge. It's located inside a multipurpose apartment complex which is quite pretty, but relatively inaccessible. There is quite limited parking available for the coffee shop itself, but thankfully we came early so snagged a spot. We wondered the wrong way down the street for a moment and got confused because right above the door to it is the leasing office sign, but that may be more user error than anything. There's just no street level signs for it. Walking inside though you're greeted with its beautiful styling, pretty of seating and open space. Great spot for chatting, getting a bit or study/working. The music was a little bit on the louder side and not really the vibe I'd be looking for, but there's outside seating so if it's not your cup of tea it's nice out there. The menu is relatively simple having your standard coffee fairs, but more extensive with their coffee types. Definitely has plenty of options for food, and a beer menu ... never a fan of that in a coffee place. I had the iced spanish latte and the coffee was FRESH which is awesome, but it did end up melting the ice so by the end it was really kind of mid temperature. Loved though that they cinnamon was not overwhelming. A lot of places tend to through just a ton of cinnamon and it doesn't blend well, but this was just right. The staff were friendly and nice and the orders came out quick . I don't think I'd go out of my way to visit again, but if I'm the area or if I lived on the block I'd be in there all the time for the vibes and convenience! Thanks! read more

2 hour parking only. A little tough to settle in to work and have to get up at the mark, worried about a tow. Not busy. The coffee I had was fine. They ran out of coconut milk, but it's nice they had the option, since the majority of coffee shops don't. Priced a little high, think my latte with oat milk and an add shot was around $11. Parking was a little confusing because some of the visitor parking is in the parking garages for the apartment buildings. And when I told the barista where I had parked she suggested I move into one of the few in the row adjacent to the shop, but most are marked for select businesses. Then later I was told it was okay to park in the parking garages visitor. They also serve wine and beer, believe they had some on tap. It was good to check it out. I prefer good music and vibes to get through work. And unfortunately, I don't think the baristas were that welcoming, the other customers were talking quite loudly, and there was a dog walking along the indoor bench at the table next to me and barking, and the baristas didn't do anything about it. read more

Decent spot for a quick bite or coffee with plenty of space to study and relax. Keep in mind, parking can be rather scarce since it is within an apartment/shopping plaza. I opted for their Vanilla Latte and Chicken Pesto Sandwich. Both were quite good, but definitely somewhat pricey given that most of the sandwich was using prepackaged items. read more

Avatar!! Plenty of 20 min parking every time I come. So just because it's attached to an apartment. It's still so convenient to come. I hated the old set up. Could never understand why it was like that. Came in today. And it's 100 percent better. Got myself a vanilla iced latte. House made syrups. It was really good today. I want to start by saying I have yet to try out the food or the wine but I do want to mention the drinks. What I Like about this coffee shop is that there is guaranteed parking in the door parking lot with easy access to the coffee shop (both of which are at ground level). Another thing is the space. The space is gorgeous with marble countertops, lots of seating, plenty of outlets and very green and gold with the fresh green plants everywhere. The rustic mirror only adds to the beauty of the space. It creates a nice atmosphere to get work done, catch up with a friend and have a nice cup of coffee. Speaking of coffee - they are a roaster offering different types of blends and drip coffee for only $3. That's right folks its unheard of in LA county where coffee ranges from $4-5 nowadays. But I opted for their cafe de olla latte which comes with cinnamon, cloves, star anise and overall this was a great latte. it was subtle yet strong. I can also say the same thing for the vanilla cardamon latte. Though I wish there was more of a cardamon taste. I did catch the vanilla though. The baristas are very friendly and know some of the regulars on a first name basis - one visiting once a week and playfully teasing one of the baristas. This shows that they are a wonderful addition to the community. I want to come back and try more of their drinks and menu. Been going to Avatar for years! When it used to be open later it was my favorite, but unfortunately the hours are always changing it seems :/ The ambience & vibe in here is truly my favorite out of any cafe in OC!! Love the velvet seats & natural lighting w/marble & wood accents. The drinks change in quality in my opinion, not the most consistent, but decent! I love all the food options! I've seen this shop and never got a chance to stop by until today. Parking is not the worst - there's 2 hour retail parking located in all the parking garages and about 20 retail parking spots scattered around the apartment complexes, although the spots towards the back are a far walk. I placed an order on the Toast app and my order came out in about 10 minutes which wasn't too bad. The store itself is decorated beautifully and is not well lit up but enough for you to do some work. I got the 16oz Iced Vanilla Latte with agave ($6) and my drink was perfectly sweet, although I couldn't tell that there were two shots added to the drink - there was mainly the taste of milk so I might try the 12oz next time. Service was not the best as no one acknowledged you when you came in or to see if you wanted to order/pick up an online order. When I was handed my drink as well, the employee was a little dismissive but seeing other reviews it seemed like that was on par with their experience as well. read more

I'm so happy to find a shop close by. Is parking ideal, no but if you go early you can get parking easily. I'd suffer a little for their products. lol I'm usually not a hot coffee person but their Spanish latte with oat milk hit every spot that it needed to hit. The spicy chipotle wrap was so good and filling. I'd highly recommend it for brunch. The esthetic of this places matches my home. Green is also my favorite color. It gives such an earthly home vibe and it would be great or a coffee date or just somewhere to sit down and be. The girl was really sweet in helping me pick something I'd like. read more

Parking can be so difficult! Otherwise this is definitely on the higher end of cafes. The roasted beans were very nice. I ordered a pack of beans and a matcha latte. Service was quick and attentive. WiFi is shared once you order! The ambiance reminds me of one with "more class" There are different kinds of seating both inside and outside. I believe this cafe is more for those who are residents or guests of the housing complex this cafe resides in. The seating is a bit tight but organized in a way to maximize the spaciousness of the whole area. read more

This coffee cafe is located in a mixed-use apartment complex. It's right at the entrance across from the leasing office and there is limited parking available, most of it marked with a 20 minute time limit. I assume most of the customers are from the gigantic apartment community or people just grabbing a coffee and food item to go. I was lucky to find a spot to park and violated the signage by staying half an hour! The interior has a mellow vibe with several tables and a lot of stools at counters, many of which face the windows. There's also a small patio area. I ordered a seasonal offering from their menu, a gingerbread latte. I also chose an item from their pastry case, an apple danish. They offer several small food items on their menu as well. The woman taking my order was very nice and helpful, informing me that the cell reception there sucks so she handed me a printed slip of paper with their wifi password. After paying and "answering one more question" (the tip), I took my pastry and sat at a window counter. My latte was ready and my name called within a couple minutes. The latte was fantastic. It tasted like gingerbread but that flavor wasn't overbearing. The espresso was obviously excellent quality and it was served in a ceramic mug at an immediately drinkable temperature. The apple danish was good but the pastry itself was dry, probably a day old or made early in the morning; I was there close to noon. A decent place to visit if you're in the area, living in the apartments, or staying at one of the nearby hotels. read more

This place is not easy to find but worth the effort. It is located in the business center near the hotels off Redhill and Dyer. There is parking in the front. When you enter, you order at a stand near the front door. The baristas work behind the front stand and make your drinks. We did have to wait a while for service. The girls who work there are friendly and helpful, although they don't smile that often. There are tables to sit and if the gals help you, you can use their free wifi with the password they provide. Although the colors are dark and dated, it is a nice place to hang out. The roasted coffee you can purchase is excellent. I give this place three stars for atmosphere, but five stars for the coffee. I'm writing this because my friends and I have been coming here for a long time, and I've recommended your restaurant to many people. Unfortunately, after my last visit, I'm not sure I'll continue doing that. The biggest issue was the service. I visited with my family, and we were in a great mood, joking and being friendly. The server, however, was cold, rude, and unwelcoming. She responded to us with "What do you want?" and seemed annoyed throughout the interaction. It completely changed the atmosphere of our visit. I also ordered what was listed as a fresh-squeezed juice, but was served regular juice instead. In addition, my sister and I both ordered the Caprese salad, and the tomatoes in both were very hard, thickly sliced, and poor quality. I hope you'll take this feedback seriously. I've spoken to several friends who also enjoy your restaurant, and unfortunately, rude service has been a recurring complaint. read more

Loved the aesthetic of this place and the coffee was really good. I got one of their seasonal lattes and it was great! The matcha latte was also really good. The staff was really nice and friendly! Loved the banana wallpaper in the bathroom (lol). The only reason I'm adding 4 stars instead of 5 is because parking can be tricky as there's not much parking for people that are just coming to the coffee shop and don't necessarily live in the complex. There are a few 20 minute and 2 hour parking spots - I got lucky and found parking right away, but I can see how parking can be a hassle. Overall, great spot though! read more

Overall great coffee shop. Location and parking are a hit challenging. It is located on the ground level of an apartment complex. There is some street parking marked retail (with a 20 minute limit). Other spots are only for the leasing office. Not sure if there is more parking elsewhere. I had a latte with star anise in it, which was very unique and overall pretty good. We also got the hummus plate as an appetizer, which was tasty and reasonably priced. The baristas were friendly. The ambiance inside was pleasant and there was a decent amount of seating. read more

Favorite place for a matcha!!! Tried so many places with a plain matcha and nothing had beat this one for me. Not only that's but they have some really great specialty coffee drinks that they switch out seasonally. Food is a little pricey however this is the first cafe I've seen that offers a happy hour for beer and wine during the weekdays! Great ambiance and service and absolutely will keep coming and bringing friends to enjoy happy hour with. read more

Great place to study! There's a good amount of seating and they provide free WiFi and outlets. As for the drinks they were just alright in my opinion. I got the matcha latte which was decent but I've had better matchas in oc for sure. I think it's cool that they have a bar and coffee shop rolled into one. Visited Avatar Coffee Roasters when we landed as we waited for our check in time. The coffee was absolutely divine. Two of us ordered an Iced Caramel Latte and absolutely loved the taste. My other friend loved the taste of the Cappuccino. Perfect taste was what she noted. Even loved the look of the presentation for both the drinks and food. For food, two of us ordered an Avocado Toast and one of us ordered a Sausage Egg and Cheese Sandwich. Loved the taste. Avocado Toast was generously spicy. Sandwich was hearty, was enough for my friend for "breakfast". When we arrived at around 10 am on a Wednesday morning, it was only us and two other parties that were seated. It didnt get busy until we left at around noon. Overall, will visit again when we land or even if I want coffee before a flight back home. read more

I came here with my family looking for a good coffee place to stop by in the morning. Two of us got the iced mocha w/ oatmilk and I had the iced spanish latte w/ oatmilk along with a seasonal Halloween pumpkin muffin. The iced mochas were average tasting with the right amount of chocolate flavor and sweetness. The spanish latte for me was very solid, a nice sweetness from the condensed milk without too much cinnamon and a coffee flavor that stood out above everything else. I honestly couldn't tell you what my muffin was made of but I still enjoyed it. It was dense with an earthy flavor that paired well with my sweet latte. The environment was very welcoming and the staff was helpful and friendly. read more

I really wanted to like this place, but every time I've visited, the customer service has been consistently disappointing. The staff never makes eye contact, and any time I ask a simple question, I'm treated like I'm inconveniencing them just by being there. It always feels cold and unwelcoming. Yesterday, I got a pumpkin spice latte, and when I went back today, I was told they no longer offer it because they "switched to their winter menu" -- even though it isn't even winter yet. The way it was communicated felt dismissive, like I should have known that already. Overall, the attitude here is off-putting. The drinks aren't worth dealing with rudeness or feeling stupid for asking normal questions. There are plenty of coffee shops in the area with friendlier service, so I won't be returning. read more

SUCH a beautiful cafe with lots of seating, outlets, and great interior design but oh my god is the parking a nightmare lol. I've now been twice, and both times I wasn't able to find parking right away-- so I'd give up and go to Hidden House Coffee instead and then come back to Avatar to see if there's parking. As some other reviews mention, it's definitely possible to park at the nearby Tustin Legacy-- but it is a decent walk away. Other than the parking situation, it's great. Lots of (healthy) food options and the coffee is great. 90-minute limit on the wifi, which is kind of a bummer. But as a study location, it's nice. Just not as convenient as Wall Writers, for example. read more

All in all, I think next time we'll stick with Stowaway and sitting at the bar. At least we can check TBotB off our list. It's worth checking out for sure, but for me I enjoy the more classic tiki cocktails. It's fun to venture off the beaten path once in a while.

Let me begin by stating that the coffee was really stunning. The cortado had a strong and bold flavor, but it was deliciously smooth in texture. The Kyoto cold brew was wonderful, with a level of richness that I hadn't had in a while. We ordered their avocado breakfast bowl and acai bowl, and while both were nice, nothing particularly stood out. After seeing what other customers have ordered, I'm anxious to try their sandwich options on future visits. The atmosphere in Avatar coffee shop enhanced my experience, and the service was exceptional. The inside had a nice blend of warm lighting and natural light, resulting in a city atmosphere that was surprising given the location. There are numerous seating options available, including some outside tables, resulting in a nice ambiance suitable for both work and pleasure. The parking situation during my stay was a little difficult, but everything else was excellent. I would give service 0/10 we were helped by sierra (just going by the persons name on our cup) caucasian woman with brown hair is the best I can describe her was so cold with no customer service skills whatsoever and it's really a shame because this shop was beautiful and the other short haired woman that helped people after us seemed more easy-going and warm. That can easily ruin a shop for me as the coffee was sub-par (white mocha) and the food was good. It's really easy to just greet a customer I don't really expect a full blown convo but not looking at us whatsoever not a hello just a dirty look and very short quick answers was a shame. My recent visit to Avatar Coffee left much to be desired. Firstly, the mislabeling of my food order by the baristas was a frustrating start to my morning. Instead of receiving the meal I ordered, I had to play detective and track down the individual who mistakenly took mine so we could swap our meals. Not a great way to start the day. To add to the disappointment, the WiFi was abysmal, making it impossible to get any work done. And let's talk about the prices - outrageous! A 12oz iced coffee costing $7 is already steep, but receiving a cup filled with only 4oz of liquid is downright insulting. As for the food, it was bland at best. A hidden gem! Came to visit a friend and we ended up here and got to try their acai bowl (which was SO fresh and good), and their new mini sliders that were DELISH. The buns were toasty, the pulled pork was juicy, and honestly, the presentation was great. This is a great place to snack on - I wouldn't say it's a place for a full meal. Plenty of seating for you to get your work done. I do want to mention that it's pricey but worth the splurge if you're already there! I can't believe I hadn't come here sooner. It's located inside an office building, so it's not very noticeable from the outside, but you can easily find it if you search for it. There's also a small sign outside that says "Open to Public," which made me feel comfortable walking in. I ordered a Spanish latte with the sweetness adjusted to 50% and found a spot at one of the large communal tables so I could study and get some things done. Honestly, this is exactly the kind of coffee shop I've been looking for! It's spacious, the coffee is delicious, the atmosphere is clean and comfortable, and it's nice and cool inside. What more could you ask for? Next time I have some free time in the morning or early afternoon, I definitely want to come back and try their matcha too!
